Assignment 3 Learning Styles Psychology
In the past psychology class we were assigned various website assignment that helped depict which learning styles work best for the students personal
preference. Throughout the multiple websites my overall results were that I personally use all three types almost equally. Although I do favor other
learning styles more than the other, it was overall equal. You may ask, "What arelearning styles?" There are three main types of learning styles which
are Auditory, Visual and Kinesthetic learning. Auditory learners learn best by listening, Visual learners learn best by seeing information and placing it
into long term memories. As for Kinesthetic learners, they learn best by physically completing the information they wish to learn
**********Visual learners learn best by seeing charts or graphs and by also seeing demonstrations. Visual learners learn through information
associated with images. Optical learners also use color to organize information and ask a lot of questions to seek clarification. They are known for
being organized and focused while working. In addition to remember information, visual learners create mind maps, as well as draw images they
visualize to improve on the amount of information that can be remembered. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While taking notes I have the tendency to write with multiple different colors in an attempt to increase the amount of information learned. I also
highlight key elements when studying for tests. Flashcards are great for studying and making outlines of topics studied. Another useful strategy for
visual learning is watching online videos of topics discussed. I have to visually see a persons to remember them. I personally find taking notes as the
teacher is giving a class lecture on crucial information more beneficial to me rather than just auditorily listening to the instructor's

When You Hear The Word Of Teaching
Abstract When you hear the word "teaching". you may think about school and student. Teaching I realized it is not an easy job, however it is a blessing
when your students that were struggling are now succeeding it is very rewarding. Teachers have an important role everyday and it is important that
teachers should know that they are the guiding to all student's development, intellectual, social well–begins. We are there to make sure students learn
the best way they can, so they can get a better education in life and learn the best way that will be able to fit them. We want our students to grow as an
adult and continue to learn once they even graduate from school or college. As a teacher, I want my students to feel safe and want to learn.... Show

Differentiation is all of these and more. As a student in the class I learned about the different teaching philosophies, I learned what may fit me is it
exenterlism, progressivism. Teaching is a balance of science and artistry. Taking the information and creating lessons to engage and impart knowledge
to students who are reluctant learners and show them that they have the power of change within them. I believe it is important in guiding the
development of the children as individuals and help them mature into thoughtful adults who continue to learn.
Worldview& philosophy of Life When we hear the world school or teaching or just discussing education, we may hear teaching is a difficult job or
why other jobs get paid more than teachers especially when teacher deals with students every day. In 1982 in regards to the characteristics in the
educational landscapes, Henry Giroux noted there were "severe financial cutbacks, shrinking job markets, and massive teacher layoffs" (p.87)
However, some of these issues are still going on as of today. Many teachers go on strike or just getting layoff because the jobs just do not want to pay
the staffs or a financial cut due to the economy. In my community I listen how an ex– teacher decided to leave her job because she was spending more
money on students' material instead of the administration team providing supplies for students to shape the student's young minds.

Process Essay On How To Connect With A Horse
To become a better rider it is necessary to learn how to connect with the horse, be constantly working to be better, to learn from other and stay
competitive. Your aids, which are your leg, your hands, your reins and your voice, are all very important for connecting and communicating with your
horse. You cannot be a rider without ahorse. Hard work and a willingness to learn are imperative to become a better rider. Learning from others is a
good way to learn yourself. You can watch their mistakes and learn how you can fix them yourself Riding a horse is more than just sitting there, its
connecting with your horse through your aids. Aids are the most important for connecting with your horse. You have to communicate in a way that
the horse understands. Most horses are trained to respond to aids like your leg, your hands, the reins, and your voice. The leg refers to your whole
leg, from your hip to your heel. Your leg is your support for your horse. It tells him to go faster, or slower, to turn, or jump and it can also tell to pick

Attitude is important for both you and your horse to understand each other. If you are upset, your horse can sense this, and it puts him on edge.
You being upset communicates to him that you are not happy, which makes him nervous because your attitude is unpredictable. This also goes for
if you are happy, sad, angry or excited. Your voice is a very important communication device for connecting with your horse. Your voice can tell him
you are upset with him when he does something wrong, or that you are happy with what he has done. Voice is also important for telling a horse to
calm down with words like "easy" and "steady". It can also tell them to change gaits with a simple "kiss" "click" or "whoa". Riding is based on trust
for both rider and horse so communication is the best way to gain trust and connect with the

Should Children Unnecessary Rewards?
Do you think we give children unnecessary rewards? Giving too many incentives to kids could actually turn negative. The most talked about
reward given is from participation in sports. Every player on the team receives a trophy, win or lose. This does not prepare children for the real
world where they are not always going to be a winner; which could later lead to self esteem issues. The second point I'm going to talk about every
parent does, and maybe even without noticing. It's that parents practically bribe their children for doing what they ask them to do. They give an
allowance for doing chores and buy their child a treat for acting right in public. How can we expect our young ones to learn and try their hardest when
they know they're... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Raper 2 First, I would like to talk about every child being a winner. Whether it's t–ball or soccer, pitcher or outfielder; every child receives a big, shiny
gold medal. We need to give children a chance to lose so that they learn how to overcome loss. Parents feel as though their children need to be
reassured that they have done well. While rewards can be short term motivators, constant reassurance can end up backfiring. Children will form big
heads and expect to win even when they don't put in much effort. When they eventually experience failure they will only focus on the flaws
because they've never been taught that failure is ok. We concentrate so much on performance, competition, and the end result of winning at such a
young age that we are taking away the enjoyment of playing for satisfaction. Losing is a learning experience that will reoccur throughout their
lives. A true reward is knowing what it's like to work hard and accomplish your goals; that progress takes time and effort. All of those participation
trophies have no meaning to these kids. They notice when other teammates are making all of the goals while they play in the dirt of the outfield.
This is why we are recognizing self esteem issues in youth. Those who put in their best effort and receive the same reward as the kid who did
nothing will no longer do their best. As well as if they receive a trophy for just being on

Explain Why Children Learn Best Through Play
Children learn best through play. Educational play is the best way to teach young children. Children learn best when they have access to learning
opportunities that match their preferred learning development. Young children are active learners; their brain develops faster than any other point in
their lives. I trust every child is a special person who needs a protected, mindful, and strengthening air in which to create and grow deep down,
rationally, physical, and social.
Some children learn best by visual, for example, when they can see something, either in pictures or by reading. They easily understand what they have
seen. Some children learn by hands on. Some children can sit and listen attentively and understand everything you tell them.

The Concepts Of Openness As Discussed During Class
Reflecting on the concepts of openness as discussed in class was very eye opening to me. The panel that came to speak in class had me reflect on
things that make more sense for me now that I am grown that I didn't realize as a child. Most of all it brought back the reason why I am a caring and
loving person to all I meet in the field of teacher today.
Reflecting on the reads in the class I have learned so much. When reading the Guofang Li chapters" East is East", I found that I know so much more
about how Chinese children learn to read and write that I did not know before. Also how they are culturally. When you learn about a child's cultural it
will help you best understand the child and how best to educate the child in school. Doing so will also help with the communication with the family of
the child as well. Not making an effort to find out about the different cultures or language that your children in you class have can result in a negative
outcome in your classroom. Negative outcomes can say with a child all the way to adult hood. The panel that came to our class let us know just how
outcomes of a teacher not learn about different cultures can be. The panel I have named by the number order they spoke to us in class 1–4. And the
first Principle Open Mind was one of all of the same for all of our pantalets. Pantalets one she came to the U.S and didn't know English and eleven
years old and was assigned students to her that she may or may not knew Spanish. No one asked

Four Learning Styles Research Paper
Picture this, you're at work and trying to explain to your subordinate how to flight follow an aircraft, but they just can't grasp what you're saying. You
go over the checklist and explain in detail, why every step matters. The look on their face, confused! You've probably reached the point of frustration,
but you may be overlooking an important fact, not everyone learns the same way you do. In order to be a better instructor or supervisor, you must
understand, there are different learning styles. Multiple learning styles can be discussed, but, visual, auditory, and tactile/kinesthetic are probably the
most common. First, Visual learners. This type of learner may use color graphs, or pictures. When visual learners are given verbal directions they are
more likely to write them down or draw a map than to remember the verbal directions in their mind. They tend to draw a map or picture to understand
what is being lectured. According to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These are the, "hands–on learners." They learn best by physically doing the task. In Logsdon article she stated, "People with bodily kinesthetic learning
styles learn best when they are permitted to use their tactile senses and fine and gross motor movement as part of the learning process." Tactile
/kinesthetic learners are often noted to touch a person or object while trying to convey a message or learn something new. They will usually ask to try
something after they are given instructions. Tactile/kinesthetic learners tend to move a lot, sometimes confusing them with Attention Deficit Disorder.
When working with tactile learners, don't take a lot of time trying to verbally explain things. They can get bored very quickly by this so just offer
basic details and give them the chance to physically try the task. This learning style is often neglected in a classroom setting as well so make sure you
give people the chance to display what they have

The Importance Of Working In High School
Many students in high school have some sort of job that they do. Whether it is just doing the chores at home or working a part time job at a business,
students do some type of work. But the question stands on if that work should be just house chores or a part time job. Some say that working in high
school causes stress, cuts their childhood short, and is a distraction from academics. Others say that working while in high school will help gain
interpersonal and communication skills, develop a work ethic, learn how to deal with their own money, and time management. I believe that students in
high school should have some type of job or responsibility.
Students working in high school will gain communication skills that they could use for the rest of their lives.(Student–tutor) They learn to deal with
customer service, for example, You are working in a grocery store, and you notice a lady looking around as if she is lost instead of just doing your
job stocking shelves, you go up to her and ask if there is anything you can help her find. That is customer service, and there are many other things
you do as customer services. Along with that, students also learn how to communicate directly to their boss and other employees. If you needed to
have a talk about how to do something in work you are learning communication skills by asking them specifically how to do something in a polite
manner. Or, if you need to talk to your boss about a conflict that can help you learn how to do

Anesthesiologist Benefits
My future career is an Anesthesiologist. The way I plan to get the most profit out of my job would be to use the benefits from my job. I think Blue
Cross and Blue Shield would be the way to go. Blue Cross could help me with hospital care benefits and Blue Shield would help me if I needed
surgical and medical services from physicians. I think the most effective way to figure out what kind of insurance you need would be based off of
what you earn every year. I think that you should also talk to your employer about what they could offer you. The best way to find ways to ensure
money and comfortable living when you retire, is to talk to somebody who knows about that stuff. There are ways to do it by yourself and ensure
you can live life when you're getting old. Since you will spend less money when you retire, you only have to save up for about fifteen to twenty years.

VARK Analysis: Multimodal Learning Style
VARK Analysis Paper Elaine Boyd Grand Canyon University May 24, 2015 VARK Analysis Paper According to the VARK questionnaire the learning
strategy that best describes this student's style is multimodal learning style. Experience has shown this person learning to be strongest in visual and
kinesthetic and less in the aural and read/write styles. Amazingly, this corresponds with the results of this questionnaire. Multimodal learning style
means that all styles are used to some degree. Many people find they need the same material taught using several of the learning modes to grasp the

Knowing their particular learning styles(s) should encourage student/patient self–enhancement. It is also important for each individual be not only
knowledgeable of their learning preferences but to practice other styles to enhance their learning abilities. It is believed this encourages well rounded
education and learning. Educators teach best when they use a variety of learning styles to assure all students comprehend the material provided. "Most
nursing students can learn effectively as long as the instructor provides different learning activities (Visual, Auditory, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic).
(AIKhasawneh, 2013, p. 1549)". There are other attributes which aides in learning such as room temperature, lighting, sound and allowing breaks for
students to absorb information that instructors need to consider when teaching. Providing time for learners to absorb information, discuss lecture with
others and replenish nutrition are necessary for instructors to keep in mind. In conclusion, it is wise to discover your preferred learning style to
enhance education and make you a better teacher/student. Passing along this information to others may encourage them to learn as they discover the
style which best suits them. Important also is to realize patients need to be assessed for their best learning style. References AIKhasawneh, E. (2013,

Some of the most common questions we get in life are "Who are you?" Or "What do you like to do?" That is our way as human beings of getting

group, there are downsides to certain personalities. Abstract random people have a more difficulttime working alone for extended periods of time,
memorizing, organizing plans, and concentrating on one task at a time. For example, I do not learn best by reading from a textbook. I have a difficult

better when I do hands–on activities and can relate information to previous experiences and

Disposition In The Classroom
Do you believe that a teacher's disposition is effective in a classroom? Taylor & Wasicsko (2000) claimed, "There is a significant body of research
indicating that teachers' attitudes, values, and beliefs about students, about teaching, and about themselves, strongly influence the impact they will
have on student learning and development" (Borko 2). Taylor and Wasicsko also acknowledge that the skills and knowledge side of a teacher's
disposition is very important so that she or he is effective for the learning of their students (Wasicsko, Taylor). Borko believes, a teacher should be

Also, you must listen to each child and their actions to help further their learning development. Everything you do as an early childhood educator
such as, class work, desk work, lesson planning, and the overall environment of your classroom, should be to benefit the growing development of a
child. It is valuable for a teacher to have a good disposition. A person's, or teacher's, disposition comes from their beliefs and attitudes towards
different values. Teachers can have different beliefs of how they believe their students can learn and how challenging they make learning for their
students (Borko). A good disposition is being able to teach each student in a way that is easy for them to learn. But also challenging students is good
because it can increase their thought process and allow their brain to grow. When asked, teachers believe that to be an effective teacher it is important
to have professional knowledge, interpersonal and intrapersonal knowledge, as well. Teachers should be involved in learning, be caring, and be

What Does It Can Help Teachers Design And Deliver...
LESSON DESCRIPTION
VARK is a fun, short, simple inventory with lots of practical educational applications. In this lesson, we will discuss how it can help teachers design and
deliver instruction that meets different learning styles and preferences.
!!!What is VARK?
How many times have you hear students say, "I just don't get it!" It is always important to try to provide instruction that addresses student learning styles
. As a teacher, you already try to modify instruction so that all your students can learn; however, it can take time to get to know them and their learning
preferences. If that is the case, then _VARK__ may be just what you need.
VARK is a short, simple questionnaire that your students can fill out online so that they (and you!) determine how they learn best. VARK is free for
use in schools, and universities for student or faculty development, and as long as you give attribution, there should be no problem in using this tool in
your classroom.
The acronym VARK stands for Visual, Aural, Read/Write and Kinesthetic which are the learning modalities observes by the creators of a questionnaire
that bears the same name. It is a short, simple way for your students to clarify how they learn best and for you to help them by addressing their learning
preferences. So, by encouraging your students to take the questionnaire and discussing their results, they can discover things about themselves they
might not have known and which will help them learn in the best way

this determination is called the Visual, Aural, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic or the VARK assessment. When you take the assessment, you may notice

As a read/write learner, information is best absorbed by myself by reading the information that is to be initially presented then re–writing it sometimes
multiple times. There is a great benefit to these learning types when a textbook or study notes are presented. Note taking and lists are a very useful
tool when studying and a reward when preparing for a test or assessment. A good tip for these types of students is to rewrite explanation and notes

They are often fidgety or find multiple reasons for movement and are not very attentive during audio or visual presentations. They like to try out new

I Am A Visual Learner
I have known for quite some time that I am a visual learner. It is much easier for me to grasp a concept if I am shown how to do something by
demonstration rather than reading instructions. I become very frustrated rather quickly if I have to rely solely on written instructions. When I become
frustrated, I tend to be easily distracted and focusing becomes an issue. How people take in information and the decisions they make or conclusions
they come to about that information is their learning style. A learning styles assessment can be taken to determine the way in which individuals learn
best. One such assessment is the VARK Inventory. John N. Gardner and Betsy O. Barefoot, authors of Your College Experience define this inventory
as follows, "The VARK inventory, a sixteen
–item questionnaire, focuses on how learners prefer to use their senses (hearing, seeing, writing, reading,
experiencing) to learn. The acronym VARK stands for "Visual," "Aural," "Read/Write," and "Kinesthetic" (70). A visual learner prefers seeing, an
aural learner prefers listening, a read/write learner prefers their information be presented in written form and kinesthetic learner prefers a hands–on
learning approach. When you know and understand your learning style, you will be aware of what you need in order to learn effectively. Not
everyone learns in the same way and there is no best way to learn. What works for one person, may not work for another. The key is to determine what

care for others and selfless actions. He allowed an angry selfish man take his place to board the ferry to a 'happy afterlife' and instead left himself
suffering in the 'underworld' unhappy and unsatisfied. This frightened Pierce because she knows that she could very well end up just like John's friend

Journal: Deliberate Practice (2 Pages). Define Deliberate
Journal: Deliberate Practice (2 PAGES)
Define deliberate practice.
Deliberate practice is a type of learning that requires a focused effort to improve importance. It is a long process, but it is found to be more effective
than just relying on memorization, or automaticity. It's a type of learning that can help anyone refine their skills, or learn new tasks. There are several
steps one needs to take to learn deliberate practice effectively. These steps are similar to those of self–regulated learning. "Self–regulation refers to
self–generated thoughts, feelings and actions that are strategically planned and adapted to the attainment of personal goals" (Zimmerman 2000, 2006).
The first step involves setting goals and planning out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, in order for me to learn how to do injections, or draw blood I'd have to practice in a clinic. Doing these tasks correctly means asking
others for help when needed, setting a goal, and planning out the strategy to learning it, monitoring my progress, and getting feedback from others
about my performance. The best way deliberate practice can help me fully learn these new skills is by practicing them repetitively. You know the
saying "practice makes perfect?" You can't learn how to do billing, or how to administer injections overnight. It takes time, and effort to learn something
new. Paying attention to what you're doing is very important as well.
Identify techniques to integrate deliberate practice into your education and career.
There are several techniques one can use to integrate deliberate practice into their education and career. When it comes to college, or any level of
education deliberate practice can help a student fully understand a concept, or learn something new. It involves more than just completing a test or
assignment. You have to give it your all, and not just think of it as finishing an assignment and being done with it. To fully integrate this type of
learning into your education you have to change your mindset. A lot of students go to class, learn, take notes, and do homework, but plenty do it with
the intentions of getting done. They don't do the homework with the goal of understanding the subject, or ask for

Guiding Children's Behavior
I have rated the fourteen steps to guiding children's behavior based on personal belief and experience.
1. Model Appropriate Behavior: Show, demonstrate, model and supervise. Children are watching you therefore you need to be the best role model
you can be. As a positive role model you need to make good choices and encourage children to do their best too. It has been proven that children with
positive role models have higher self–esteem, do better in school and social settings, and are more likely to make good choices in difficult/stressful
situations. Positive role models can last a lifetime.
2. Meet Children's Needs: Children need to eat nutritional foods, drink plenty of water, and get enough sleep and exercise. Children need a ... Show

As an instructor, you should always be clear about exactly what you expect and what the consequences will be if rules and limits are broken.
9. Clarify your Beliefs about Guiding Behavior: It is important to be certain about what you want for children in the classroom and at home. Use a
philosophy of education to guide your teaching and review it often, be sure you are always doing your best to do best for the children in your classroom.
10. Use Social Constructivist Approach: Teachers should always be guiding students to behave in a socially appropriate and productive way. Once
again, you are a role model, be the best role model you can be, children are watching your decision making and behaviors. Make responsible choices
so children can ape this behavior.
11. Help Children Build New Behaviors: Give children praise when necessary. I am a strong believer in the power of positive reinforcement, children
react positively when you reward them for making good choices. It is important that children know you recognize they are choosing to make a good
choice because it lets them know you are watching them and acknowleding their efforts to control their behavior.
12. Recognize & Value Basic Rights: We all have basic rights, children too! Respect their basic rights and it will be easier to guide and direct
children's behavior.
13. Avoid Problems: Positive reinforcement is a great way to focus on good

Personal Statement : My Placement Year
My placement year was one of the best things I have done during my time at university. Having the opportunity to gain valuable experience in an office
has given me more opportunities than most when leaving university. I learnt a lot about myself and gained many skills that will be a key to success in
the future.
Taking the time to reflect on all the moments that's affected me really shows how I learnt and developed and how it can change the way I act in the
future. Reflective practice is a process well suited to achieving personal growth and facilitating personal and professional development (Scaife, 2014).
My time at JLL has shown me that informal learning suits me more than formal leaning. I have taken on a role that involves lots of web design and
code, so I've had to teach myself how to do this via colleagues' help, podcasts and meetings. Unlike my manager Rob who is very formal when it
comes to learing, I use informal interactions with people to learn what I need to know before I put it into practice.
I recently read in the book 'Skills for Success' by Stella Cottrell, that you need to take responsibility for your own learning and recognise your own
learning preferences. This is a valuable thing to pick up on as being able to recognise how you learn best can help you complete a task to your best
ability, and taking responsibility for you own learning rather than replying on others shows what a resourceful worker you can be. After reading this I
realised the best

The Love Learning David Mccullough Analysis
Learning to Love Learning
Have you ever thought about how nice it would be if you never had to learn anything ever again? On the other hand, have you ever wished you loved
learning? Learning is an important aspect in each of our lives. Figuring out how to have a love and want to learn can be difficult, but very rewarding.
In the essays The love of Learning, by David McCullough, and Learning by Heart, by Susan W. Tanner, they each offer ways to figure out how to do
so. The love of learning takes dedication, time, effort, and an understanding of how each of us learn best.
Summary for "The Love of Learning" by David McCullough David McCullough is a "contemporary American historian" who earned a degree in

Have you ever felt excited when something that you have been learning finally clicks and you understand it? Did you want to learn more and receive
that feeling again? This is the point when I love learning. In The Love of Learning essay, talking about Senator Charles Sumner, McCullough states,
"by the time he finished law school, something overcame him. Passionate to know more, learn more, (he) sailed for France...in order to attend lectures
at the Sorbonne" (McCullough, 2008/2012, p. 334). He felt this urge to learn more, so he sought and went after greater knowledge. He worked for it. I
would like to repeat the quote by Abigail Adams, "Learning is not attained by chance. It must be sought with ardor and attended with diligence"
(McCullough, 2008/2012, p. 334). A love of learning probably won't be something you just stumble upon. Find how you learn best, put forth the effort
to learn and you will gain the love if you truly desire

Joining Organized Group Activities
Every child on this planet is different. When parents force a child into an organized group they aren't free to express themselves in the ways best for
them. This is one reason why I believe that having children play creativly is a better idea than having them join a bunch of organized activities.
Many parents just want "what's best" for their children, but by placing them in organized group activities it can stop them from doing what they want
to do. If you really want what's best for your kids, let them decide what they want to do. You may want them to go to camps & learn about the wild,
but they could want to sing & dance.
Plus, in organized activities there is always an adult that is there. How do you expect the kids are going to learn important skills like leadership &
problem solving? The answer to the question is that they probably won't. If you let your child play based on their imagination & their choices they can
learn the skills that you cannot learn with an adult telling you everything you should do. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Learning To Driving
Whether you are parent with a teen who will soon learn to drive, or you are teen ready to begin driving, you might be wondering, "What cars are the
best to learn how to drive in?" While there is not one perfect car for every new driver, there are a few things you may want to consider when picking the
vehicle you will use for learning to drive.
Size
When learning to drive, it is easy to underestimate the size of your vehicle and to assume you have more space than you do in reality. Because of this,
larger vehicles, including SUVs, vans, and trucks, are generally not the best vehicles to learn to drive in. Instead, learning to drive on a medium–sized
or smaller car can help the teen to gain confidence when first learning to drive. They will also allow the teen more room when learning skills like
parallel parking, switching lanes, merging, and navigating curves. Once the teen has become comfortable with a smaller vehicle, the teen may want to
practice on a larger vehicle. When first learning to drive, though, sticking with one vehicle can help the teen become more comfortable with the driving
experience.

My Teaching Philosophy Statement Essay
My Teaching Philosophy Statement
There are many teachers, with many different teaching styles. There are teachers who are strict and do not allow for any disruptions in the classroom.
Then we have teachers who do not even really care what is going on in the classroom. The way that these teachers, and so many more, teach is a result
of their personal philosophies on education.
Before you can decide how you want to run your classroom, you need to remember that not all students learn in the same way. Some learn by doing
things on their own, while others learn better in groups. Some students learn with rote memorization and others learn from doing. Every classroom has
students of every kind. So, when you are thinking about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I also feel that the teacher should be there to encourage the students to think for themselves, let the student find the answers to their own questions
sometimes. The teacher should guide them in the right direction but they should not always take them straight to the answer.
The classroom that I teach will be run in a democratic fashion. When we are at a place in our lessons where we can have choices, we will vote.
This way everyone will have a chance to do something that they enjoy. This way they will not just be another student in the class but they will
actually be part of the class. I hope to be a classroom where it will be possible for the students to sit in small groups of three or four, with the groups
spaced out around the room. On the bulletin boards, I would have materials that were funny and motivational at the same time. Interspersed with those
materials, I would have materials that deal with course content. I would also like to have class projects throughout the year that will correlate with the
content that we are covering at that time. These projects would serve as hands on experiences for the students.
I hope that I am a combination of authoritarian and non–authoritarian. I want my students to know what I expect and to respect that. Likewise, I do not
want to constantly be yelling and punishing students. I want the students to come in and be ready to do their work for the

Goals, Success, And Long-Term Goals?
According to George Sheehan," Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant
to be." They have to put their mind to it and know that he or she will want to become better students. Establish goals, manage time wisely, and
determining their learning styles are a few strategy pointers they may practice becoming a good student. The first strategy would be to establish their
goals. When he or she is establishing their goals it is always best to have long–term goals and short–term goals. Short–term goals are something they
will want to accomplish soon, for example, today, this week, this month or even this year. They can accomplish short–term goals within 12 months such
as the following: taking a class, writing a resume, or maybe even buying a television. Short–term goals are accomplished in a short period of time,
which can be strategies completed that can lead to your long–term goal in the future, and long–term goals are future goals accomplished in a
long–period of time. Long–term goal's something they want to do in the future. Long–term goals are nothing that they can accomplish within a year, it
usually takes longer. Examples of long–term goals are such as the following: start my own business, save for retirement, or graduate from college.
Goals are viewed as "decision–making". They have to be focused without any causes of distractions to be fully successful. It is best to write down
your goals so you won't

Montessori Schools Should Not Be A Montessori School
Several parents are stuck with the choice of either sending their children to a default public, catholic, private, or Montessori schools. This choice is
extremely important, for this could make or break a child's school career. The elementary year's, kindergarten through sixth grade are the most
crucial, since that is when they would figure out what kind of learner that they are. Public schools teach all students the same way, whereas
Montessori schools teach the student in the way that, that individual student learns best. It is good to distinguish what is the best way to learn early,
so that the student will know how to study for the rest of his or her student career. While All children must endure 12 years of school to obtain a
diploma, the best school to do this in would be a Montessori school, because of their way of teaching students, how in depth that their lessons are, and
because of their impeccable learning atmosphere. The Montessorian Approach was developed by Italian physician and educator, Maria Montessori in
1897. The Montessorian approach was based on her extensive research "phrenasthenic" or "special needs" children and characterized by an emphasis
on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child's natural psychological, physical, and social development. There are several noticeable
differences between public schools and Montessori schools. Opposed to the traditional approach to put emphasis on social development, Montessorians

Review Of ' First Job '
Learn More and More Audience: Those who do not like learning In "First Job", Iliana Roman recalls her learning experiences throughout her work
life. Roman's first point is to remain persistent even in the face of difficulty. Roman's second point is to try and make everything a learning
experience. Roman's third point is to work with what is best, not what is easiest. Another point of Roman is to conduct one's behavior as if he/she
is a role model for all. Roman concludes that one should always give their best effort so they won't let those who look out for them down. Iliana
Roman's article, "First Job", illustrates the idea that jobs open up paths to learn and that one needs to always continue to learn in his/her life is
very true. There are three statements in Roman's article that are found to be true. She says if you are determined no one will stop you, friends and
businesses do not mix, and all previous experiences help in everything you do. Roman's article contains many factual statements and as a whole her
paper is very true. Roman learns through her job experiences that if you are determined to do something you will accomplish it. As Roman states, "I
think if you set your mind to learn something you'll learn it; there's no stopping you" (Roman 815). In the beginning of the story, Roman writes about
the hard times she faced early on in her life. Her boyfriend caused problems which led to her dropping out of school. However, Roman's desire to

Article 20 Life Skills Not Taught In Schools
Philosophy of Education
Jessica Vandeventer
University of Colorado in Colorado Springs
Philosophy of Education Everyone has a philosophy that they base their life on and use to help guide them through life decisions and in their careers.
Even educators have a philosophy that guide how they teach and work in a school. Teachers have many things to consider when making their
philosophy and then following their philosophy. They need to look at what is the purpose of schooling and what they should teach. They also need to
know how students learn and the roles of the teacher and the students. Teachers have to know their roles in order to help students, and they must know
what the roles of students in order to help them learn. Teachers also need to know how students learning can be measured. All of these play a role into
creating a philosophy of education to use when teaching at schools. Student centered–teaching is one of the best ways to teach, and it should have a
part in any philosophy of education.
What is the purpose of schooling? The purposes of schooling should focus on helping the students to succeed in the economy and help them make an
impact in the world. Schools should also be a place where students can explore and learn what makes them tick and help them find out what ... Show

Kids Should Not Play Competitive Sports
Some people say that kids should not play competitive sports, but when you really think about it they should be playing competitive sports, but others
say that kids should not play competitive sports until there older but by the age of 15, 80% out of 45 million kids have already quite the sport they
were playing but three out of four families with school–aged children have at least one playing an organized sport out of 45 million children around the
world. And out of all the kids around the world 45 million of them are getting healthier as they play sports and the rest of the kids aren't learning
anything or getting healthy/stronger because they aren't doing anything.
Many people say that kids are getting pressured into sports and aren't learning anything but when you think about it they are actually learning to
improve themselves. If parents aren't getting their kids into sports then they won't learn how to accept criticism from people and then they will just
think that everyone is saying bad things about them on purpose, which isn't true because they just want them to improve themselves.
Also when kids are playing sports parents want their kid to be the best. They want them to win and they never want them to lose. Which is what
everyone wants but if parents keep pressuring them they will want to be the best wherever they go like school and when they go home, they will think
everything is a contest between them and everyone else which is not a good thing because people

Personal Beliefs About Children And Learning
My personal beliefs about children and learning include; having the children feel safe and welcome, because safety is the number one rule in a child
care center. Children should learn the basic things of life. Some of those include, reading and writing, science and math, art and games. Children need
a good sense of education to teach them the basic things they need. The purposes of early childhood education are; teaching the kids what they need to
know in order to go kindergarten. Giving them a voice, and letting them be heard with what they want to say. By letting them know they have a voice,
lets them feel a sense of comfort and safety. Motivating and encouraging them to do what is right. Having a yes I can attitude about wanting to do
things. I believe that children learn best when they are taught under certain conditions and in certain ways. Those include; How teachers teach for
example; if the teacher does not ask you questions, and never answers the questions it can cause the children to have difficulties learning. If the teacher
does ask questions, and interacts with the children it makes learning a lot easier. the environment of the classroom, and how children interact with
others. A positive classroom with positive attitudes means that the children will learn more, and they will learn in a healthy environment. The way they
interact with others also contributes to this because they will be doing this for the rest of their lives. The curriculum of any classroom

My Teaching Philosophy And Philosophy Of Physical Education
Physical Education is beginning to become a lost art in our society. We see the obesity rate continue to rise and that is due to kids being less active.
Technology has become necuance in the physical activity in our nation's youth these days. You are seeing little kids on electronic devices as of 5 years
old that has put our country in this epidemic. Another issue is that schools are putting less and less of an emphasis on physical activity these days.
Standardized testing has taken over the schools because educators jobs are dependent on standardized testing scores not physical activity within the
school. I have a great philosophy and goals in mind to help my future students be successful and healthy.
How I would implement my teaching philosophy would the first couple of days of class I would have a couple of baseline tests to see how talented
each student is. We will run the mile, do push ups and sit up test, and see how athletic each student is with different sports.I want to do this to gauge the
starting point of each student to create some realistic goals so they can improve throughout the course. With a physical education course you must be
realistic with each student because if these students were great athletes they would probably be in a sport rather than in a PE class. I will set a goal
sheet for each student for all the activities to help them improve through the course. For example, if a student runs a 15:00 minute mile I would like he

Assignment 3 Learning Styles Psychology

  • 1. Assignment 3 Learning Styles Psychology In the past psychology class we were assigned various website assignment that helped depict which learning styles work best for the students personal preference. Throughout the multiple websites my overall results were that I personally use all three types almost equally. Although I do favor other learning styles more than the other, it was overall equal. You may ask, "What arelearning styles?" There are three main types of learning styles which are Auditory, Visual and Kinesthetic learning. Auditory learners learn best by listening, Visual learners learn best by seeing information and placing it into long term memories. As for Kinesthetic learners, they learn best by physically completing the information they wish to learn **********Visual learners learn best by seeing charts or graphs and by also seeing demonstrations. Visual learners learn through information associated with images. Optical learners also use color to organize information and ask a lot of questions to seek clarification. They are known for being organized and focused while working. In addition to remember information, visual learners create mind maps, as well as draw images they visualize to improve on the amount of information that can be remembered. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While taking notes I have the tendency to write with multiple different colors in an attempt to increase the amount of information learned. I also highlight key elements when studying for tests. Flashcards are great for studying and making outlines of topics studied. Another useful strategy for visual learning is watching online videos of topics discussed. I have to visually see a persons to remember them. I personally find taking notes as the teacher is giving a class lecture on crucial information more beneficial to me rather than just auditorily listening to the instructor's ... • 3. When You Hear The Word Of Teaching Abstract When you hear the word "teaching". you may think about school and student. Teaching I realized it is not an easy job, however it is a blessing when your students that were struggling are now succeeding it is very rewarding. Teachers have an important role everyday and it is important that teachers should know that they are the guiding to all student's development, intellectual, social well–begins. We are there to make sure students learn the best way they can, so they can get a better education in life and learn the best way that will be able to fit them. We want our students to grow as an adult and continue to learn once they even graduate from school or college. As a teacher, I want my students to feel safe and want to learn.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Differentiation is all of these and more. As a student in the class I learned about the different teaching philosophies, I learned what may fit me is it exenterlism, progressivism. Teaching is a balance of science and artistry. Taking the information and creating lessons to engage and impart knowledge to students who are reluctant learners and show them that they have the power of change within them. I believe it is important in guiding the development of the children as individuals and help them mature into thoughtful adults who continue to learn. Worldview& philosophy of Life When we hear the world school or teaching or just discussing education, we may hear teaching is a difficult job or why other jobs get paid more than teachers especially when teacher deals with students every day. In 1982 in regards to the characteristics in the educational landscapes, Henry Giroux noted there were "severe financial cutbacks, shrinking job markets, and massive teacher layoffs" (p.87) However, some of these issues are still going on as of today. Many teachers go on strike or just getting layoff because the jobs just do not want to pay the staffs or a financial cut due to the economy. In my community I listen how an ex– teacher decided to leave her job because she was spending more money on students' material instead of the administration team providing supplies for students to shape the student's young minds. ... Process Essay On How To Connect With A Horse To become a better rider it is necessary to learn how to connect with the horse, be constantly working to be better, to learn from other and stay competitive. Your aids, which are your leg, your hands, your reins and your voice, are all very important for connecting and communicating with your horse. You cannot be a rider without ahorse. Hard work and a willingness to learn are imperative to become a better rider. Learning from others is a good way to learn yourself. You can watch their mistakes and learn how you can fix them yourself Riding a horse is more than just sitting there, its connecting with your horse through your aids. Aids are the most important for connecting with your horse. You have to communicate in a way that the horse understands. Most horses are trained to respond to aids like your leg, your hands, the reins, and your voice. The leg refers to your whole leg, from your hip to your heel. Your leg is your support for your horse. It tells him to go faster, or slower, to turn, or jump and it can also tell to pick his head ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Attitude is important for both you and your horse to understand each other. If you are upset, your horse can sense this, and it puts him on edge. You being upset communicates to him that you are not happy, which makes him nervous because your attitude is unpredictable. This also goes for if you are happy, sad, angry or excited. Your voice is a very important communication device for connecting with your horse. Your voice can tell him you are upset with him when he does something wrong, or that you are happy with what he has done. Voice is also important for telling a horse to calm down with words like "easy" and "steady". It can also tell them to change gaits with a simple "kiss" "click" or "whoa". • 5. Should Children Unnecessary Rewards? Do you think we give children unnecessary rewards? Giving too many incentives to kids could actually turn negative. The most talked about reward given is from participation in sports. Every player on the team receives a trophy, win or lose. This does not prepare children for the real world where they are not always going to be a winner; which could later lead to self esteem issues. The second point I'm going to talk about every parent does, and maybe even without noticing. It's that parents practically bribe their children for doing what they ask them to do. They give an allowance for doing chores and buy their child a treat for acting right in public. How can we expect our young ones to learn and try their hardest when they know they're... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Raper 2 First, I would like to talk about every child being a winner. Whether it's t–ball or soccer, pitcher or outfielder; every child receives a big, shiny gold medal. We need to give children a chance to lose so that they learn how to overcome loss. Parents feel as though their children need to be reassured that they have done well. While rewards can be short term motivators, constant reassurance can end up backfiring. Children will form big heads and expect to win even when they don't put in much effort. When they eventually experience failure they will only focus on the flaws because they've never been taught that failure is ok. We concentrate so much on performance, competition, and the end result of winning at such a young age that we are taking away the enjoyment of playing for satisfaction. Losing is a learning experience that will reoccur throughout their lives. A true reward is knowing what it's like to work hard and accomplish your goals; that progress takes time and effort. All of those participation trophies have no meaning to these kids. They notice when other teammates are making all of the goals while they play in the dirt of the outfield. This is why we are recognizing self esteem issues in youth. Those who put in their best effort and receive the same reward as the kid who did nothing will no longer do their best. As well as if they receive a trophy for just being on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Explain Why Children Learn Best Through Play Children learn best through play. Educational play is the best way to teach young children. Children learn best when they have access to learning opportunities that match their preferred learning development. Young children are active learners; their brain develops faster than any other point in their lives. I trust every child is a special person who needs a protected, mindful, and strengthening air in which to create and grow deep down, rationally, physical, and social. Some children learn best by visual, for example, when they can see something, either in pictures or by reading. They easily understand what they have seen. Some children learn by hands on. Some children can sit and listen attentively and understand everything you tell them. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Concepts Of Openness As Discussed During Class Reflecting on the concepts of openness as discussed in class was very eye opening to me. The panel that came to speak in class had me reflect on things that make more sense for me now that I am grown that I didn't realize as a child. Most of all it brought back the reason why I am a caring and loving person to all I meet in the field of teacher today. Reflecting on the reads in the class I have learned so much. When reading the Guofang Li chapters" East is East", I found that I know so much more about how Chinese children learn to read and write that I did not know before. Also how they are culturally. When you learn about a child's cultural it will help you best understand the child and how best to educate the child in school. Doing so will also help with the communication with the family of the child as well. Not making an effort to find out about the different cultures or language that your children in you class have can result in a negative outcome in your classroom. Negative outcomes can say with a child all the way to adult hood. The panel that came to our class let us know just how outcomes of a teacher not learn about different cultures can be. The panel I have named by the number order they spoke to us in class 1–4. And the first Principle Open Mind was one of all of the same for all of our pantalets. Pantalets one she came to the U.S and didn't know English and eleven years old and was assigned students to her that she may or may not knew Spanish. No one asked ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Four Learning Styles Research Paper Picture this, you're at work and trying to explain to your subordinate how to flight follow an aircraft, but they just can't grasp what you're saying. You go over the checklist and explain in detail, why every step matters. The look on their face, confused! You've probably reached the point of frustration, but you may be overlooking an important fact, not everyone learns the same way you do. In order to be a better instructor or supervisor, you must understand, there are different learning styles. Multiple learning styles can be discussed, but, visual, auditory, and tactile/kinesthetic are probably the most common. First, Visual learners. This type of learner may use color graphs, or pictures. When visual learners are given verbal directions they are more likely to write them down or draw a map than to remember the verbal directions in their mind. They tend to draw a map or picture to understand what is being lectured. According to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These are the, "hands–on learners." They learn best by physically doing the task. In Logsdon article she stated, "People with bodily kinesthetic learning styles learn best when they are permitted to use their tactile senses and fine and gross motor movement as part of the learning process." Tactile /kinesthetic learners are often noted to touch a person or object while trying to convey a message or learn something new. They will usually ask to try something after they are given instructions. Tactile/kinesthetic learners tend to move a lot, sometimes confusing them with Attention Deficit Disorder. When working with tactile learners, don't take a lot of time trying to verbally explain things. • 9. The Importance Of Working In High School Many students in high school have some sort of job that they do. Whether it is just doing the chores at home or working a part time job at a business, students do some type of work. But the question stands on if that work should be just house chores or a part time job. Some say that working in high school causes stress, cuts their childhood short, and is a distraction from academics. Others say that working while in high school will help gain interpersonal and communication skills, develop a work ethic, learn how to deal with their own money, and time management. I believe that students in high school should have some type of job or responsibility. Students working in high school will gain communication skills that they could use for the rest of their lives.(Student–tutor) They learn to deal with customer service, for example, You are working in a grocery store, and you notice a lady looking around as if she is lost instead of just doing your job stocking shelves, you go up to her and ask if there is anything you can help her find. That is customer service, and there are many other things you do as customer services. Along with that, students also learn how to communicate directly to their boss and other employees. If you needed to have a talk about how to do something in work you are learning communication skills by asking them specifically how to do something in a polite manner. Or, if you need to talk to your boss about a conflict that can help you learn how to do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I think Blue Cross and Blue Shield would be the way to go. Blue Cross could help me with hospital care benefits and Blue Shield would help me if I needed surgical and medical services from physicians. I think the most effective way to figure out what kind of insurance you need would be based off of what you earn every year. I think that you should also talk to your employer about what they could offer you. The best way to find ways to ensure money and comfortable living when you retire, is to talk to somebody who knows about that stuff. There are ways to do it by yourself and ensure you can live life when you're getting old. Since you will spend less money when you retire, you only have to save up for about fifteen to twenty years. VARK Analysis: Multimodal Learning Style VARK Analysis Paper Elaine Boyd Grand Canyon University May 24, 2015 VARK Analysis Paper According to the VARK questionnaire the learning strategy that best describes this student's style is multimodal learning style. Experience has shown this person learning to be strongest in visual and kinesthetic and less in the aural and read/write styles. Amazingly, this corresponds with the results of this questionnaire. Multimodal learning style means that all styles are used to some degree. Many people find they need the same material taught using several of the learning modes to grasp the meaning of the subject being taught. This finding is very accurate looking on past experiences with understanding of written instructions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Knowing their particular learning styles(s) should encourage student/patient self–enhancement. It is also important for each individual be not only knowledgeable of their learning preferences but to practice other styles to enhance their learning abilities. It is believed this encourages well rounded education and learning. Educators teach best when they use a variety of learning styles to assure all students comprehend the material provided. "Most nursing students can learn effectively as long as the instructor provides different learning activities (Visual, Auditory, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic). (AIKhasawneh, 2013, p. 1549)". There are other attributes which aides in learning such as room temperature, lighting, sound and allowing breaks for students to absorb information that instructors need to consider when teaching. Providing time for learners to absorb information, discuss lecture with others and replenish nutrition are necessary for instructors to keep in mind. In conclusion, it is wise to discover your preferred learning style to enhance education and make you a better teacher/student. Passing along this information to others may encourage them to learn as they discover the style which best suits them. Important also is to realize patients need to be assessed for their best learning style. References AIKhasawneh, E. (2013, December, 2013). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also, we like a noncompetitive environment and open communications. As with every group, there are downsides to certain personalities. Abstract random people have a more difficulttime working alone for extended periods of time, memorizing, organizing plans, and concentrating on one task at a time. For example, I do not learn best by reading from a textbook. Taylor & Wasicsko (2000) claimed, "There is a significant body of research indicating that teachers' attitudes, values, and beliefs about students, about teaching, and about themselves, strongly influence the impact they will have on student learning and development" (Borko 2). In this lesson, we will discuss how it can help teachers design and deliver instruction that meets different learning styles and preferences. !!!What is VARK? How many times have you hear students say, "I just don't get it!" It is always important to try to provide instruction that addresses student learning styles . As a teacher, you already try to modify instruction so that all your students can learn; however, it can take time to get to know them and their learning preferences. It is much easier for me to grasp a concept if I am shown how to do something by demonstration rather than reading instructions. I become very frustrated rather quickly if I have to rely solely on written instructions. When I become frustrated, I tend to be easily distracted and focusing becomes an issue. How people take in information and the decisions they make or conclusions they come to about that information is their learning style. A learning styles assessment can be taken to determine the way in which individuals learn best. One such assessment is the VARK Inventory. John N. Gardner and Betsy O. The acronym VARK stands for "Visual," "Aural," "Read/Write," and "Kinesthetic" (70). A visual learner prefers seeing, an aural learner prefers listening, a read/write learner prefers their information be presented in written form and kinesthetic learner prefers a hands–on learning approach. Model Appropriate Behavior: Show, demonstrate, model and supervise. Children are watching you therefore you need to be the best role model you can be. As a positive role model you need to make good choices and encourage children to do their best too. It has been proven that children with positive role models have higher self–esteem, do better in school and social settings, and are more likely to make good choices in difficult/stressful situations. Positive role models can last a lifetime. 2. Meet Children's Needs: Children need to eat nutritional foods, drink plenty of water, and get enough sleep and exercise. Children need a ... Clarify your Beliefs about Guiding Behavior: It is important to be certain about what you want for children in the classroom and at home. Use a philosophy of education to guide your teaching and review it often, be sure you are always doing your best to do best for the children in your classroom. 10. Use Social Constructivist Approach: Teachers should always be guiding students to behave in a socially appropriate and productive way. Once again, you are a role model, be the best role model you can be, children are watching your decision making and behaviors. Make responsible choices so children can ape this behavior. 11. Help Children Build New Behaviors: Give children praise when necessary. I am a strong believer in the power of positive reinforcement, children react positively when you reward them for making good choices. It is important that children know you recognize they are choosing to make a good choice because it lets them know you are watching them and acknowleding their efforts to control their behavior. 12. Recognize & Value Basic Rights: We all have basic rights, children too! Respect their basic rights and it will be easier to guide and direct children's behavior. 13. Avoid Problems: Positive reinforcement is a great way to focus on good

Having the opportunity to gain valuable experience in an office has given me more opportunities than most when leaving university. I learnt a lot about myself and gained many skills that will be a key to success in the future. Taking the time to reflect on all the moments that's affected me really shows how I learnt and developed and how it can change the way I act in the future. Reflective practice is a process well suited to achieving personal growth and facilitating personal and professional development (Scaife, 2014). My time at JLL has shown me that informal learning suits me more than formal leaning. I have taken on a role that involves lots of web design and code, so I've had to teach myself how to do this via colleagues' help, podcasts and meetings. Unlike my manager Rob who is very formal when it comes to learing, I use informal interactions with people to learn what I need to know before I put it into practice. I recently read in the book 'Skills for Success' by Stella Cottrell, that you need to take responsibility for your own learning and recognise your own learning preferences. Many parents just want "what's best" for their children, but by placing them in organized group activities it can stop them from doing what they want to do. While there is not one perfect car for every new driver, there are a few things you may want to consider when picking the vehicle you will use for learning to drive. Size When learning to drive, it is easy to underestimate the size of your vehicle and to assume you have more space than you do in reality. Because of this, larger vehicles, including SUVs, vans, and trucks, are generally not the best vehicles to learn to drive in. Instead, learning to drive on a medium–sized or smaller car can help the teen to gain confidence when first learning to drive. They will also allow the teen more room when learning skills like parallel parking, switching lanes, merging, and navigating curves.
