Saturn Research Project
Our lab assignment this week was to research the Cassini/Huygens mission currently being
conducted by NASA and the European Space Agency. After learning about the mission, we need to
list some of the information it has provided us. As well as discuss what we have learned about
Saturn, its rings and the moon system. Choose at least one picture and explain it. Although, Saturn
has always been my favorite planet, I didn't know much about this mission. The lab proved fun and
interesting to learn about all the many discoveries of Saturn.
NASA launched the Cassini–Huygens mission on October 15, 1997. Cassini was sent to explore the
system of the planet Saturn. With help from Venus, Earth and Jupiter, Cassini made a series of
gravity–assisted maneuvers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They used radar/microwave radiometer aboard NASA's Cassini spacecraft, which revealed a
turbulent atmosphere that has many similarities with Jupiter than previously realized. The new
observations reveal a calm and narrow equatorial belt surrounded by stormy bands just like on
Jupiter. Although regions at higher latitudes did show a different character that is unique to Saturn.
Recently generated global microwave maps of Saturn exposed detail of a mostly stable atmospheric
environment. There were some unpredicted diversity, including arid, desert–like patches in Saturn's
atmosphere.
The photo I chose is of a massive storm on Saturn in its north polar region. In false color the storm
looks like a deep rose color, which aids in seeing the details of this storm. A measuring of the eye is
a staggering 1,250 miles across. Cloud speeds reach as fast as 330 miles per hour. This photo is truly
amazing because it really shows one of the reasons why Saturn is so fascinating. The view was
attained at a distance of approximately 261,000 miles from Saturn and at a sun–Saturn–spacecraft,
or phase, angle of 94 degrees. Image scale is 1 mile per

Research Paper On Jovian Moon
Jovian Moons by Dawn Korrell

The moon Dione, was discovered in 1684 by Giovanni Cassini. It is the fourth largest moon to orbit
the planet Saturn and has a diameter of 1123 kilometers. The density of Dione is 1.48 times as dense
as water with a core made of rock and ice. Dione has a similar distance from Saturn as our moon has
to Earth, 377,400 kilometers. Like our moon, one side of it always faces its parent planet. It takes
2.7 days for Dione to orbit Saturn. The surface of Dione is covered in craters, heavier in some
places, with the largest being 62 miles wide. It is believed that a recent impact has turned or spun the
moon 180 degrees because its heaviest cratered area is on the trailing side instead of its leading

Saturn was named after a Greek God. Saturn has the most powerful weather on earth. Also it is the
six planet from the sun. Saturn has no surface and you would freeze if you were on it. Saturn has
hydrogen and helium that race around its axes destroying its shape. When Saturn spins around it
flattens its shape. You weigh less on Saturn than you do on earth. Saturn density is 0. 70 g/cm^3.
Saturn density is so low it's the only planet low than water. Saturn gases are so boated it take up
space compare to the total amount of mass which is 95.2 earth. Saturn is the second largest planet in
your solar system. A day on Saturn is about 10 hours long. And it takes 29.5 years to obit the sun.
Saturn was formed by bust with particles into a rocky core several times the size of earth. Saturn is
famous for its rings and they are enormous. The rings are made of small particles, that orbits Saturn
like a tiny moon. The rings are ice and rock range in size from dust grains to city blocks. Galileo
Galilei was the first person to notice the Saturn rings. The reason we can see the rings is because of
the sun. Saturn rings glow with the reflected sun light. Saturn rings are bright and fuller than other
planets. Saturn had 73 moons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay On Apollo Space Program
The Apollo space program was arguably one of the most important missions in the entire history of
mankind. This program represented the hopes of one nation and the fears of another. The middle of
the 20th century the United States and the Soviet Union were locked in a battle to see who could get
to the moon first known as the space race. This race was intensified by the cold war that was going
on between the two countries at the time as well. The Apollo program first began in 1961 because of
the Soviet Union and very quickly became the backbone for the space program (CSN website).
President Kennedy wanted the program to land a man on the moon by the end of the decade, as he
wanted America to beat the Russians to it. This however, was an extreme ... Show more content on

This program represented the most remarkable scientific feat of the entire 20th century, and perhaps
of the entire human existence on earth.
For the astronauts to land on the moon new vehicles would have to be implemented for the them to
land. NASA designed the Apollo Command Module for this program (NASA website). It was a
capsule that had room for up to three men. The men would ride in the Command module to the
moon and back. The vehicle that was used for landing on the moon was the lunar module, which
carried the astronauts from the orbit around the moon to the surface of the moon and back to the
Command Module (NASA website). In the Apollo program, there were two types of rockets that
were developed to get to the moon from earth. The first flights of the Apollo Program utilized a
smaller vehicle known as the Saturn 1 B rocket (Nasa website). This rocket was 22 stories tall and
had two stages. The first stage would run out of fuel and then disconnect from the other part of the
vehicle and then fall back into earth's atmosphere and burn up. The other part of the rocket would
then continue to fly positioning itself in the earth's orbit. This was to

Titan is very unique moon. A moon orbits a planet. There are 8 planets in our solar system. There are
63 moons orbiting Saturn, one of which is Titan.Titan was discovered in 1655 by Dutch astronomer,
Christiaan Huygens. All of the moons are different. Titan is the largest, and most earthlike moon we
have found. It is the only moon in the solar system with clouds and a dense, planet–like atmosphere.
Scientists believe that conditions on Titan are similar to Earth. It has water on the moon and the
temperature is not the same. Earth, and Titan have different atmospheres. Titan was the first known
moon of Saturn, and the sixth planetary satellite we've discovered. Titan's diameter is 3,200 miles,

1960's Rocket History
Working Title
As of 2017, the United States of America is still the only country in the world to put men on the
moon due to the many rockets they made during the 1960's. These rockets were some revolutionary
pieces of technology during the 1960's because America went from almost nothing on rockets to
men on the moon. But there are some rockets that outshone the others because those rockets did
great things or they came back from near extinction. The U.S. space program made many different
types of rockets during the 1960's, but the best type of rockets were the Delta rockets, the Atlas
rockets, and the Saturn rockets.
The first rocket that was considered one of the best rockets made during the 1960's was the Delta

Cassini's Saturn
Cassini has made the biggest discoveries of Saturn and its moons then anything else ever. Cassini
orbited Saturn and it's moons for 13 years and collected a lot of data, and pictures. Cassini
discovered some of Saturn's moons that people didn't know about. In the 13 years of Cassini's orbits
of Saturn and its moons. Cassini discovered 9 of Saturn's most famous jet stream's and Cassini
found water spewing out of jets around the south polar region of Enceladus.
Cassini launched from earth in 1997 from Pasadena, California but did not get to Saturn till 2004.
Cassini had to go 4.9 Billion Miles to reach Saturn. 27 Nations participated to find out more about
Saturn and its rings. Cassini collected a lot of data and over 400,000 pictures of not only Saturn but
Saturn's rings and moons.
Saturn's axis is tilted with respect to its orbit around the sun, just like Earth Saturn has seasons. One
of Saturn's seasons last 7 Earth years, and has 7 seasons. Saturn spins faster than any other planet
except Jupiter, completing a rotation every 10 and a half hours. This rapid spinning causes Saturn to
bulge at its equator and flatten at its poles. The planet is 8,000 miles wider at its equator ... Show

The Role Of Astrology In Greek Mythology
Astronomy is defined as the study of non–Earthly bodies and phenomena such as the sun, moon,
stars, and planets. Human behavior is defined as the range of physical and emotional behaviors that
humans engage in; biologically, socially, intellectually, etc. and are influenced by culture, attitudes,
emotions, values, ethics, authority, rapport, persuasion, coercion and/or genetics. When combined,
the two topics merge into a third one called astrology: the study of celestial entities and how they
apply to the characteristics and affairs of humankind. Astrology has been influences human behavior
on daily lives. In ancient times, astrologers believed that every component of the universe was
interconnected. Every aspect of human life and behavior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Uranus is associated with the Titan Prometheus who tricked Zeus into giving fire to humanity,
astrologically relating Uranus to rebellion. In application to ADHD, Gibson observed that the
patients with ADHD that were the most rebellious or defiant had shown massive shift in negative
energy of the planet Uranus. Gibson observed Taylor (all patients are identified with pseudonyms),
one of his ADHD patients, and found that Taylor displayed symptoms of ADHD:
"He could never just sit in his chair and wait for his teachers to call on him. He liked to walk around
the classroom and talk to his friends, even when asked to sit down. On several occasions he was sent
to the principal's office for punishment and redirection. He fights with his brother and sisters and
seems unable to take care of his possessions. He cannot sit still long enough to watch television or to

Saturn
Introduction
Ever gotten bored of Earth? Want to live in an isolated place, away from Earth? Then Saturn may be
the perfect getaway for you! Experience a whole new atmosphere and come visit our beautiful
landscapes. Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun and the second largest planet in the solar system
and has 700x the volume of Earth. Saturn is 1.4 billion kilometers from the sun and is the farthest
planet visible to the naked eye and is a tan color in appearance.
Composition
Saturn is a gas giant, made up by mostly hydrogen and some helium, both very light elements which
make Saturn the only planet denser than water, which means it could float in a bathtub! (If large
enough, of course) Hydrogen and helium are also the same elements that make the sun. Inside
Saturn, there is a tiny, dense core made up of rock, ice and other elements made solid by the
pressure. This core is surrounded by a layer of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Saturn's axis is titled 26.73 ° comparable to Earth's 23.5 ° tilt, which gives Saturn seasons. Saturn
rotates in the same direction as Earth, which is east to west. Its rotation is surprisingly fast, being
equivalent to only 10.7 earth hours. This causes Saturn's equatorial radius to be 10 percent wider
than its polar radius. However, its orbit around the Sun is quite a bit slower. One full orbit takes 29
years for Saturn to complete. As for weather, Saturn averages a temperature of about –168 ° C with
winds as fast as 1800 kilometers an hour in the upper atmosphere.
Appearance
Saturn gets its color and stripes from different atmospheric gases. Its beige color comes from yellow
ammonia crystals in the upper atmosphere.

Saturn is one of the most well known and loved planets in the solar system known for its many
features, including its incredible rings, beautiful color and much more. Saturn is a gas giant made up
of mostly hydrogen and helium, similar to Jupiter another gas giant. Saturn is the sixth planet from
our sun and the second largest planet in our solar system. It's the furthest planet from Earth that's
still visible to the unaided human eye. Saturn is an incredible and outstanding planet with a huge
history and intricate details that make it such a spectacular and important part of our solar system.
Saturn was named after the Greek God, Cronus. Saturn was the most distant of the five planets that
were known to ancient civilizations. Galileo Galilei was the first to look at Saturn through a
telescope in 1610. But the oldest written documentation of the ringed planet can be traced back to
the Assyrians. When around 700 BCE, they portrayed Saturn as "A sparkle in the night" and named
it "Star of Ninib." Later on in 1659 a Dutch astronomer called Christiaan Huygens suggested that
there was a thin, flat ring surrounding Saturn as he watched Saturn through a much more powerful
telescope then Galileo's. After that in 1675 Jean–Dominique Cassini, an Italian ... Show more

The Planets And The Celestial Bodies Of Astrology
The Planets (Grammar Check)
Ascertaining the defining characteristics associated with the celestial bodies of astrology will
establish the novice in the fundamentals of astrology, and enhance the comprehension of adept
astrologers. After all, as planets orbit established positions, the axis of astrology encompasses the
idiosyncrasies of the planets. Additionally, a familiarization of Greek and Roman deities benefits the
comprehension of the various planetary personalities.
The Inner Planets
The moon and the five planets closest to the Sun are relatively quick, moving through an
astrological sign in less than a year. Thus, the combination of their positions and their effects vary
significantly among individuals.
The Sun
The elegant brilliance of the Sun generates life, establishes purpose, and provides direction. Notably,
this majestic orb impressively blazes as the kingpin of the solar system bestowing ego, pride,
passion, arrogance, and strength. Along with these attributes, the Sun controls a person's desire for
growth and expansion. Ultimately, the Sun determines the scaffolding of an individual's personality
and destiny.
The Moon
The synchronicity of the moon is phenomenal: instinctively maintaining its composure while
continually rotating during orbit. Habitually, the moon reveals its passively tranquil countenance to
the Earth while simultaneously concealing a secretive side. Comparatively, the nature of this motion
illustrates the way the moon affects an

Space Aliens: How Saturn Was Formed?
Yes, you read that right. It's quite possible that dinosaurs saw how Saturn was formed. As much as
we'd all like to think dinosaurs are some ancient race of space aliens that formed our universe, it's
more likely they witnessed this even from the very same Earth we live on. Also, they probably had
no idea what was going on. HOW SATURN GOT ITS RINGS Red Bull gives you wings but it
didn't give Saturn Rings. Saturn was first discovered in the 1600's by a bunch of old astronomers
who were probably drunk on wine. This lead to four hundred years of debates about how old space

July 16th of 1969: The Day the Saturn 5 Was Launched
Do you know where you were or what you were doing on July 16th of 1969? That was the day that
Saturn 5 launched into space with Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldren and Michael Collins on board.
From July 16th thru July 24th is a time in the United States flight history that will live forever. Even
though the United States and the Union of Soviet S. Republic were fighting each other the methods
were almost the same.
It was the defining moment of a nation. The day we landed on the moon, a goal was achieved. We
had beat the Russians to the moon. The day was July 29th, 1969. Through trial and error, a lot of
innovation, and new developments in science, we had built the biggest moveable man–made object
to that date. Even though US and the USSR were fighting each other the methods were almost the
same.
The Saturn V was an important rocket in history. According to NASA, "It was Saturn V's job to take
men from the earth to the moon " (The Worlds). The power of one Saturn V is enough to place in
Earth's orbit all U.S. manned spacecraft previously launched.(Apollo Facts and Figures) The Saturn
was a multi–corporation collaboration project including Boeing, North American Aviation, Douglas,
IBM all contributed to the cause of put man on Moon by the end of the 1960.

Launched in a Saturn V rocket, Apollo 9 carried a CSM and LM. After entering Earth's orbit with
the third stage, S–IVB, CM pilot Scott performed a maneuver that detached the CSM from the S–

propulsion system (SPS) was tested and deemed capable to propel the LM and S–IVB when the LM
is docked with the CSM. After a few orbits, the S–IVB was detached from the CSM–LM combo,
and was propelled out of earth's orbit into the sun's orbit (a new S–IVB is used for each mission). A
few orbits later, LM pilot Russell Schweickart and Commander James McDivitt crawled through the
tunnel connecting the LM to the CSM and performed tests on the LM to test the engines, systems
and steering. The next day, extravehicular activity (EVA), or activity outside of the spacecraft, was
performed by Schweickart and CM pilot David Scott as they took pictures of each other and their
surroundings. The other major task accomplished by this mission was the separation and redocking
of the LM to the CSM. The two spacecrafts orbited the earth separately for about 12 hours, and then
were successfully redocked together. Schweickart and McDivitt crawled back to the CSM, and the
LM and CSM were separated again. The LM was also jettisoned into space since it would burn up
on reentry into Earth's orbit on future missions due to not having a heat shield. (Brooks et al. 292–

The Moons Of Saturn : Orbital Motion
The moons of Saturn are numerous and diverse ranging from tiny moonlets less than 1 kilometer
across to the enormous Titan, which is larger than the planet Mercury. Saturn has 62 moons with
confirmed orbits, 53 of which have names and only 13 of which have diameters larger than 50
kilometers (Porco 2009). Twenty–four of Saturn 's moons are regular satellites; they have prograde
orbits not greatly inclined to Saturn 's equatorial plane, while the other 38 are irregular satellites
(Turrini et al. 2009; Grav et al. 2015), whose orbits are much farther from Saturn, have high
inclinations, and mixed between prograde and retrograde orbits. 3.2.2 Theories of Saturnian'
Satellites
Several theories have described the orbital motion of the eight major satellites of Saturn (Mimas,
Enceladus, Tethys, Dione, Rhea, Titan, Hyperion and Japetus). Because of resonances, the theories
by Struve (1898 and 1933), Woltjer (1928) and Senclair (1977) described the motions of satellites in
pairs (e.g.: Mimas–Tethys, Enceladus–Dione, Rhea–Titan and Titan–Hyperin). Kozai(1957) and
Rapaport(1977) have improved such theories and adjusted their constants. Taylor (1984), Taylor et
al. (1987) and Harper (1988) have developed the theory of Hyperion and Iapetus by adding some of
missing terms. However, the above theories still not accurate and the residuals with observations
from the Earth are about (~1400 km) in the Saturnian system.
Duriez and Vienne (1991a) introduced a new general analytical theory

Saturn was named after the Roman God of agriculture and harvest. The planet was given the name
for the golden color it possesses, representing a field of wheat, and for the position it is in.
According to Roman mythology, the God Saturn stole the position of king from his father, Uranus.
The throne was then stolen by Jupiter. The Roman God Saturn is depicted as an elderly man
carrying a sickle. In Greek mythology, Saturn was referred to as Khronos or Father Time. Saturn
was also known to represent the limits of control, because it was previously thought to be the limit
of the solar system. Therefore, it was also thought to have the longest observable rotational period.
Because of this, Saturn was thought to be the keeper of time. That is why the Greek's perceived
Khronus as an elderly man with a long gray beard. In Astrology, Saturn's movements used to be
feared and it was considered to be the unlucky planet. Now, Saturn is seen as more balanced as

It is made up of mostly hydrogen and helium, hydrogen and helium are the two lightest elements in
the universe and that make Saturn the lightest planet that we know of. And because Saturn is so
light, it does not have as much gravity. Amusingly, it is believed Saturn would actually be able to
float in water because the hydrogen and helium that make up the planet are so lightweight.
The planet spins so fast because it is lightweight, most other planets are round but Saturn is not

The Four Planets Of Jupiter
The four planets that are furthest from our sun are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. They are
called the outer planets. They are separated from the four inner planets by something referred to as
the asteroid belt, which is filled with big chunks of rock that are called asteroids. The asteroid belt
lies between Mars and Jupiter. All the outer planets are gas giants. They also take longer to orbit the
sun than the four inner planets, because they are much further away from the sun. Let's explore each
of the four outer planets.
The four outer planets are much larger than the inner planets, and their surfaces are mostly made of
gases, such as hydrogen. Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun, or the first outer planet. It's also the
largest planet in the entire solar system. It's 300 times larger than Earth! It takes 12 Earth years for
Jupiter to completely orbit the sun one time. A very thick layer of hydrogen clouds covers the
surface of Jupiter. The mass of Jupiter is more than all the masses of the other planets combined,
which means that it has a lot more gravity than the other planets, and even more than the sun.
There is an area on Jupiter called the "Great Red Spot," and it's where lots of violent storms occur.
Just this one area of storms is three times larger than Earth! Jupiter has at least 63 moons, and new
ones are still being discovered. Each moon is unique. Ganymede is the largest moon in our solar
system, and it's even bigger than Mercury. Europa is

The Most Incomprehensible Thing About The World
"The most incomprehensible thing about the world is that it is comprehensible."– Albert Einstein.
Universe is a mysterious world that is incomprehensible to clarify. However, through intelligence,
intuition and ingenuity, it affected Humans to perceive the uncharted world they live in and make it
comprehensible. After the tremendous explosion, hundreds of billions of stars were swirling and
interacting with each other by gravity, constituting a galaxy. In the midst of chaos, there was the
Milky Way galaxy, our galactic home. Unlike a regular spiral, the Milky Way galaxy is a barred
spiral that was comprised with two minor arms and spurs. One of the spurs, Onion Arm, contains the
sun and the solar system. There are eight planets in our solar system and they are all unique. Yet, out
of all the planets, Saturn, perplexed many astronomers with its discoveries. First and Foremost, the
"chemical compounds in its upper atmosphere color, its cloud bands in subtle shades of ivory and
broad, lacy rings that encircle Saturn", captivated the astronomers with its charm. Although, ancient
Greeks were able to detect Saturn thousand years ago, no one conceded that Saturn had its rings,
until Galileo perceived them with his telescope in 1610. Indeed, the discovery of Saturn left its mark
on the history, where astronomers had an abysmal quarrel whether it was heliocentric or geocentric.

How Saturn Is The Planet
Good old Saturn. Now, in the charts we talked about, his Sun–Saturn is on her Moon and then her
Saturn is on his Nodal axis so it plays an important role here. We're going to talk about Chiron too,
and hers is involved with the Moon T–square as we talked about and his is conjunct her Venus–
Uranus.
When Saturn makes an aspect with another person's personal planet or with an angle, it plays a key
role. Saturn is the planet involved with restriction, with our self–doubt, with our commitment as
well, and our sense of realism, with what we feel is real. Therefore, as I mentioned earlier, it is very
common to see Saturn aspects in synastry charts of people in long–term relationships, because it
shows this ability to commit, or to try and make a go of it. We're prepared to work at that particular
relationship. It generally makes the couple more determined to work at problems and be in it for the
long haul.
It's important to note that both Saturn and Chiron do often crop up in relationship synastry – we
often see one or the other or both working in the cross–aspects. They may not be the easiest to deal
with but we enter relationships for other reasons than just being happy, we are looking to understand
ourselves, as I said.
Now, you often see this in quite clear stages through a relationship which has these strong Saturn
aspects. You know, in the beginning there can be almost a reluctance to enter into a relationship or a
commitment with another person, because it's setting off

A Short Note On Saturn 's Moon, Titan Essay
One of Saturn's moon, Titan, possess planetary conditions unique to the solar system. It has an
incredibly thick and organically rich atmosphere and a vast number of different liquid conditions.
The numerous ways in which its atmosphere and liquids interact results in the formation of a vast
array of different organic and prebiotic molecules, making it an excellent location for the possible
development of life, despite its frigid temperatures. Understanding how life could form on Titan
would give insight regarding not only how life formed on Earth, but also to how, what ways, and
what forms life could form on other planets with conditions dissimilar from Earth, opening up the
number of planets that could be seen as hospitable to life, as well as possibly expanding the search
for life to icy moons. Titan's atmosphere and liquid conditions, surface and subsurface, its
primordial conditions, as well as Titan's frigid subzero temperatures, all place limitations on and
give new opportunities to the formation of life in ways that resemble Earth's life, but more
frequently in ways entirely different, in chemical composition, general structure, and metabolism.
However, in some ways, Titan's conditions may be too unstable and harsh for the development and
survival of life.
Titan's atmosphere is one of the key points to the possibility of life developing on Saturn's largest
moon. Its atmospheric composition is 90 percent nitrogen and its second most abundant constituent
is methane.

Saturn : The Most Important Planet In Our Solar System
Saturn Research Paper
Saturn is the most interesting planet in our Solar System as you know is one of the most beautiful
planets because of his rings and also because it is named after the Roman god of agriculture
(Branley, 1998). Also Saturn is a giant ball made of hydrogen and helium and Saturn rings is made
of chunks of rocks and ice and even tiny pieces of dust. Saturn was observed at first by Galileo
Galilei who view Saturn's system of rings with a telescope in 1610 (Yenne, 1998).
Saturn rings are 150,00 miles in diameter also they are very thin only a few hundred yards thin
(Kidszone, 2017). Nicknamed for Saturn is the ring planet. Saturn is a bitterly cold planet and
Saturn is even colder than the earth and the wind in Saturn also blows faster than every wind on
earth. Saturn's equator wind speed up to 1,100 miles 1,770km per hour. Saturn gets his gold color
from sunlight and reflecting off its clouds. And it gets there yellow and gold bands from the planet's
atmosphere and are created by Saturn's fast winds and also hot interior (Charles, 2017).
And do you know that Saturn is one of all the planet that has the lowest density in our solar system.
The dark stripes on Saturn are called belts also his moons are frozen and it also seems like it has an
ocean hidden below its frozen surface. And also sometimes Saturn rings disappear, but they do not

Introduction: Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second–largest in the Solar System.
Saturn is named after the roman god of agriculture. In 1610, Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei was
the first to gaze at Saturn through a telescope. To his surprise, he saw a pair of objects on either side
of the planet. He also discovered one of Saturn's moon titan. Later Giovanni Cassini came along and
discovered 4 more moons Appearance, structure and size: Saturn's mass is 95 times of earth and it
has a diameter of 142,750 kilometers. It is 1426 million kilometers, from the Sun. Saturn is a gas
giant and Its radius is about 58,232 km. Saturn is by far the most beautiful planet in the solar system

Saturn's largest moon is Titan, is a bit bigger than the planet Mercury. Titan is the second largest
moon. Saturn has a light orange look with white and gray rings. These rings are made up of ice,
rocks, and dust. Saturn's rings are more than 270,000,000 kilometers wide but not even 1 kilometer
thick, it also has more than 30 layers of the ring. It is made up of 94% hydrogen, 6% helium. Which
means it is mostly gas. Its temperature is around minus 178 degrees Celsius. Orbit, rotation and
missions Saturn takes 10,759 Earth days to revolve around the sun once which is around 29.5 earth
years. Saturn rotates on its axis once every 10 hours and 34 minutes giving it the second–shortest
day of any of the solar system's planets. In 1979, Pioneer 11 became the first spacecraft to fly by and
study Saturn up close. Voyager 1 flew by in 1980 and Voyager 2 in 1981. These spacecraft studied
many of the moons of Saturn as well. In July 2004, the Cassini spacecraft reached Saturn.

Lord Byron's View Of Prometheus
For hundreds upon hundreds of years, writers have utilized poetry to express a certain feeling. To do
this, poets rely primarily on pathos to make the reader feel something and allow them to identify
with the poet himself. Master of establishing mood, which Merriam–Webster defines as, "a
distinctive atmosphere or context," Lord Byron never fails to communicate his exact thoughts. With
the precision and accuracy of a surgeon, he manipulates words and sentences to say exactly what he
means – nothing more, nothing less. Lord Byron uses words to convey his reverence of and
thanksgiving towards Prometheus, ad his hatred of Zeus.
According to some versions of the Greek myth, Zeus tasked the Titans Prometheus and Epimetheus

Displayed so ruthlessly in this story, Zeus heartlessly exiled Prometheus to a fate so terrible, no
mortal could truly imagine it. Zeus' heartless decisions establish a tone of bitterness and resentment

The development of the launch escape system (LES) for the Apollo program did not come to use,
but showed its effectiveness during the LES test flight that did fail. During one of Saturn's rocket
LES test flight with Little Joe II booster, the LES showed its potential and capability as it cleared the
exploding rocket stage and landed safely. The LES utilized a system of linkage to the rocket if one
link is broken it will activate its escape launch sequences. This system's performance during the
failed test flight presented its ability that the LES on the Apollo command module is capable of
saving its crew from death if catastrophic failures occurred during launches. Similarly, redundant
structural testings at Marshall Space (MS) center in Alabama ensured a safe and successful flight of
the Saturn rocket. NASA used the MS center for engine and structural testing and simulation to
simulate vibration and launching parameters. During initial testings of the rocket's main engine, a
faulty fuel pipe created oscillation and destroyed the engine. It was later fixed from elastic structure
to stiffer one which had caused the vibration. The MS test center carried a huge responsibility and
ensured the proper function of each integral part of the rocket to "remain above the figure of 0.990,

The Earth 's Planetary Group
This semester in physical science I have realized numerous things, yet what I discovered to be the
most fascinating was the point at which we discussed the earth 's planetary group. I discovered that
the earth 's planetary group has numerous things in it, however as large as the earth 's planetary
group is it just has one stay which is called Sol which is otherwise called the sun. The earth 's
planetary group is 4.568billion years of age, and it comprises of eight planets. The IAU is right now
perceiving five midget planets, however of the five there are perhaps a few hundred more to be
named. At this point there are 431 common satellites, and of those 173 of them are planetary and
258 of them are named minor. There are 659,212 referred to lunar planets and 3296 comets as of
September 25, 2014. Our earth 's planetary group just has nineteen round satellites in it starting now.
In the event that I were to rundown the planets by separation from the sun, they would be: Mercury,
Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. The closest planetary framework is Alpha
Centauri which is 4.37 light years away. As specified before the midget planets and they are:
Cereces, Pluto, Humea, Makemake, and Eris. The orbital rate of our earth 's planetary group is as of
now recorded as being 220km/s, and the orbital period is 220–250 MY. Our seeing about the

The rings have earned Saturn the nickname of "The jewel of the solar system". Saturn's rings were
first seen by Galileo in 1610. What the rings truly were remained a mystery until 1655, when
Christiaan Huygens discovered they were planetary rings. These rings are made up of dust, rock and
ice. The rings accumulate these items from passing comets, impacts on its moons from meteorites,
and the planet's gravitational pull. Although Saturn isn't the only planet with rings, it is given the
most credit. This is because its rings are the largest and most vivid out of the planets. Each ring
orbits the planet at a different speed. The rings have simple names. The A,B,C,D,E,F, and G ring.

This close orbit means that Mimas probably has received several times the rate of collisions as the
collisions of other moons of Saturn. Mimas and another Saturn moon, Rhea, have been called the
most heavily cratered bodies in the Solar System. It is believed that the craters on Mimas have been
around since the beginning of the Solar System. Mimas is so heavily cratered that new impacts will
overwrite the old craters that were created in the past. There just is not a part of the Mimas that has
not been pounded by impacts. Mimas being closer to Saturn is what kept it from being heavily
cratered compared to Saturn's other moon Rhea. Results of the crater impacts are hard to detect due
to Mimas being a warmer and consequently softer moon, which over a period of time its earlier
features had faded away as a result of this. The older bigger craters can still be seen, even with all
the impacts the moon has received. Most of the surface on Mimas is saturated with impact craters,
which the range in size is greater than 25 miles in diameter. But no others are nearly as large as the
well known crater Herschel. This suggests that early in its history, Mimas was probably impacted by
even larger bodies than the one that had created Herschel, which had completely disrupted the new

Saturn may be one of the nicest looking planets in our solar system from the outside, but what's
unique about the planet lies within it. You probably think of Saturn as a huge planet that has multiple
rings around it. Well, that is true, but this isn't what makes Saturn one of the most interesting planets

example, Saturn is the least dense planet in our solar system even though it is the second largest

planet would just float to the top of the water. Not only that, but 1 year on Saturn is around 29.46

Some of the rings are visible and some of them are not. All four of our solar system's gas giants have
rings, but the reason Saturn stands out from the other planets is because you can actually see its
rings unlike the others who have faded rings. The rings may be large in size, but Saturn's rings are
only less that 1 kilometer thick. Not only does Saturn have very thin rings, but Saturn also has a
handful of rings. Although it might seem that Saturn has just one enormous ring, it has several rings
that are placed, not combined, into groups to make them look like one giant ring. Some of these
groups are visible, but there are a numerous amount that are not. The groups that aren't visible are
instead of away from Saturn. If you look at a picture of Saturn's rings you can see that the more the
rings go towards the planet, the less visible they become. Some of these groups have gaps in
between each other, such as ring A which is the ring that is farthest away from Saturn and ring B
which is closest to ring A. The gap between these two rings is the most visible of all the gaps in
between Saturn's rings due to how immense it is compared to other gaps. This gap between A and B
is called the Cassini Division since the man who discovered this gap was Giovanni Domenico

Saturn is the second largest planet in the solar system. Jupiter is the only planet that is larger. The
gas giant is 72 thousand miles in diameter, almost ten times the size of Earth. In spite of its huge
size, though, Saturn weighs very little. It is a very light gas planet. Saturn is the least dense planet in
the solar system–– so light, in fact, that it would float in water. This planet is mostly composed of
hydrogen and helium, like Jupiter, but it is much less dense. The combination of its light weight and
fast rotation causes Saturn to spread out, or oblate, its center. Since Saturn is a gas planet, it does not
have a solid surface. Spacecraft are unable to land on this type of surface. The clouds that are seen
when looking at Saturn are just the top layer of a very deep layer that covers a center of liquid
hydrogen. The clouds are blown by constant winds that reach speeds up to one thousand miles per
hour at the equator of the planet ("Great Space Place").
The rings of Saturn are more spectacular than those of any other planet. Although this planet's rings
are very wide, extending from the top of its atmosphere to well beyond the orbits of its closest
moons, they are very thin, measuring no more than a few kilometers (about a mile) in thickness
("Great Space Place"). The Pioneer 11 flyby made several discoveries about the rings. The rings are

Have you ever wondered how the planets got their names? By comparing the characteristics and

The mystery behind the naming of the planet Jupiter is quite simple: ancient Romans observed that
Jupiter was the biggest planet and therefore was named after their god, Jupiter because he is the king
of all gods. Jupiter is also the god of lightning, storms, and the sky. On the massive planet of Jupiter,

When Saturn was a child, he and his siblings had been locked in the depths of the Earth. Saturn's
mother Gaia, Mother Earth, tasked him with killing her husband Uranus. Under the cover of night,
Saturn killed his father; but when he died he spawned three new species. Erinyes or Furies,
goddesses of vengeance, giants, who simply exist to fight and wage war, and nymphs, earth
goddesses. Uranus also gave birth to one last child during his death: Venus, goddess of beauty.
Uranus is actually a Greek deity, there is no Roman counterpart, making it the only planet to be
named after Greek mythology rather than Roman. The discoverer of Uranus, Frederick Herschel,
named the planet Georgium Sides after the king of England at the time. Fortunately, the name did
not stick because citizens of other countries were not satisfied. Seeing an opportunity, Johann Bode
suggested Uranus because it continued with the mythological theme. Uranus was also suggested
because like Saturn is the father of Jupiter, Uranus is the father of Saturn. Uranus's moons are
uncharacteristically named after characters from English literature, such as Shakespeare's many

The research that I have done is about a space station with a design based off of the Saturn V rocket
that I have made. During this paper i will talk about its background, the parts, how it works and how
it is different from the ISS (International Space Station). The Saturn V rocket has 3 stages in its
launch. The first stage carries around 203,400 gallons (770,000 liters) of kerosene fuel and 318,000
gallons (1.2 million liters) of liquid oxygen needed for combustion. At liftoff the F–1 rocket engines

The Saturn V rockets used for the Apollo missions had three stages. Each stage would burn its
engines until it was out of fuel and would then separate from the rocket. The engines on the next
stage would fire, and the rocket would continue into space. The first stage had the most powerful
engines, since it had the challenging task of lifting the fully fueled rocket off the ground. The first
stage lifted the rocket to an altitude of about 68 kilometers or 42 miles. The second stage carried it
from there almost into orbit. The third stage placed the Apollo spacecraft into Earth orbit and pushed
it toward the moon. The first two stages fell into the ocean after separation. The third stage either
stayed in space or hit the moon. Now we will talk about how fast the Saturn V rocket can go. In
order for the Saturn V rocket to break free of the Earth's gravitational pull, it will need to travel
approximately 7 miles per second. The fastest speed obtained by a manned vehicle orbiting the
moon to Earth in 1969 is 11.08km/s or 24,791 miles per hour. After the launch the Saturn V burned
for almost 6 minutes giving it a velocity close to the Earth's escape velocity of 11.2 km/s or 25,053

Saturn Research Project

  • 1. Saturn Research Project Our lab assignment this week was to research the Cassini/Huygens mission currently being conducted by NASA and the European Space Agency. After learning about the mission, we need to list some of the information it has provided us. As well as discuss what we have learned about Saturn, its rings and the moon system. Choose at least one picture and explain it. Although, Saturn has always been my favorite planet, I didn't know much about this mission. The lab proved fun and interesting to learn about all the many discoveries of Saturn. NASA launched the Cassini–Huygens mission on October 15, 1997. Cassini was sent to explore the system of the planet Saturn. With help from Venus, Earth and Jupiter, Cassini made a series of gravity–assisted maneuvers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They used radar/microwave radiometer aboard NASA's Cassini spacecraft, which revealed a turbulent atmosphere that has many similarities with Jupiter than previously realized. The new observations reveal a calm and narrow equatorial belt surrounded by stormy bands just like on Jupiter. Although regions at higher latitudes did show a different character that is unique to Saturn. Recently generated global microwave maps of Saturn exposed detail of a mostly stable atmospheric environment. There were some unpredicted diversity, including arid, desert–like patches in Saturn's atmosphere. The photo I chose is of a massive storm on Saturn in its north polar region. In false color the storm looks like a deep rose color, which aids in seeing the details of this storm. A measuring of the eye is a staggering 1,250 miles across. Cloud speeds reach as fast as 330 miles per hour. This photo is truly amazing because it really shows one of the reasons why Saturn is so fascinating. The view was attained at a distance of approximately 261,000 miles from Saturn and at a sun–Saturn–spacecraft, or phase, angle of 94 degrees. Image scale is 1 mile per ... • 3. Research Paper On Jovian Moon Jovian Moons by Dawn Korrell April 25, 2016 The moon Dione, was discovered in 1684 by Giovanni Cassini. It is the fourth largest moon to orbit the planet Saturn and has a diameter of 1123 kilometers. The density of Dione is 1.48 times as dense as water with a core made of rock and ice. Dione has a similar distance from Saturn as our moon has to Earth, 377,400 kilometers. Like our moon, one side of it always faces its parent planet. It takes 2.7 days for Dione to orbit Saturn. The surface of Dione is covered in craters, heavier in some places, with the largest being 62 miles wide. It is believed that a recent impact has turned or spun the moon 180 degrees because its heaviest cratered area is on the trailing side instead of its leading ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Saturn Research Paper Saturn was named after a Greek God. Saturn has the most powerful weather on earth. Also it is the six planet from the sun. Saturn has no surface and you would freeze if you were on it. Saturn has hydrogen and helium that race around its axes destroying its shape. When Saturn spins around it flattens its shape. You weigh less on Saturn than you do on earth. Saturn density is 0. 70 g/cm^3. Saturn density is so low it's the only planet low than water. Saturn gases are so boated it take up space compare to the total amount of mass which is 95.2 earth. Saturn is the second largest planet in your solar system. A day on Saturn is about 10 hours long. And it takes 29.5 years to obit the sun. Saturn was formed by bust with particles into a rocky core several times the size of earth. Saturn is famous for its rings and they are enormous. The rings are made of small particles, that orbits Saturn like a tiny moon. The rings are ice and rock range in size from dust grains to city blocks. Galileo Galilei was the first person to notice the Saturn rings. The reason we can see the rings is because of the sun. Saturn rings glow with the reflected sun light. Saturn rings are bright and fuller than other planets. Saturn had 73 moons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The temperature of earth depends on the season, weather and the environment. Earth is the 3rd planet from the sun. Earth surface is mostly under the oceans, but it also stands out because of the impacts of the craters. The craters have been smoothed out through weathering and erosion by being broken apart and redistributed to other areas on the earth surface. Earth is made out of 21 % of oxygen, 785% nitrogen, 1% argon and carbon dioxide. Earth density is 5.52. Earth mass is 1.00. A day on earth is about 23. 93 hours. • 7. Essay On Apollo Space Program The Apollo space program was arguably one of the most important missions in the entire history of mankind. This program represented the hopes of one nation and the fears of another. The middle of the 20th century the United States and the Soviet Union were locked in a battle to see who could get to the moon first known as the space race. This race was intensified by the cold war that was going on between the two countries at the time as well. The Apollo program first began in 1961 because of the Soviet Union and very quickly became the backbone for the space program (CSN website). President Kennedy wanted the program to land a man on the moon by the end of the decade, as he wanted America to beat the Russians to it. This however, was an extreme ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This program represented the most remarkable scientific feat of the entire 20th century, and perhaps of the entire human existence on earth. For the astronauts to land on the moon new vehicles would have to be implemented for the them to land. NASA designed the Apollo Command Module for this program (NASA website). It was a capsule that had room for up to three men. The men would ride in the Command module to the moon and back. The vehicle that was used for landing on the moon was the lunar module, which carried the astronauts from the orbit around the moon to the surface of the moon and back to the Command Module (NASA website). In the Apollo program, there were two types of rockets that were developed to get to the moon from earth. The first flights of the Apollo Program utilized a smaller vehicle known as the Saturn 1 B rocket (Nasa website). This rocket was 22 stories tall and had two stages. The first stage would run out of fuel and then disconnect from the other part of the vehicle and then fall back into earth's atmosphere and burn up. The other part of the rocket would then continue to fly positioning itself in the earth's orbit. This was to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Titan Research Paper Titan is very unique moon. A moon orbits a planet. There are 8 planets in our solar system. There are 63 moons orbiting Saturn, one of which is Titan.Titan was discovered in 1655 by Dutch astronomer, Christiaan Huygens. All of the moons are different. Titan is the largest, and most earthlike moon we have found. It is the only moon in the solar system with clouds and a dense, planet–like atmosphere. Scientists believe that conditions on Titan are similar to Earth. It has water on the moon and the temperature is not the same. Earth, and Titan have different atmospheres. • 11. 1960's Rocket History Working Title As of 2017, the United States of America is still the only country in the world to put men on the moon due to the many rockets they made during the 1960's. These rockets were some revolutionary pieces of technology during the 1960's because America went from almost nothing on rockets to men on the moon. But there are some rockets that outshone the others because those rockets did great things or they came back from near extinction. The U.S. space program made many different types of rockets during the 1960's, but the best type of rockets were the Delta rockets, the Atlas rockets, and the Saturn rockets. The first rocket that was considered one of the best rockets made during the 1960's was the Delta rocket. The Delta rocket is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Accessed 28 Mar. 2017. • 13. Cassini's Saturn Cassini has made the biggest discoveries of Saturn and its moons then anything else ever. Cassini orbited Saturn and it's moons for 13 years and collected a lot of data, and pictures. Cassini discovered some of Saturn's moons that people didn't know about. In the 13 years of Cassini's orbits of Saturn and its moons. Cassini discovered 9 of Saturn's most famous jet stream's and Cassini found water spewing out of jets around the south polar region of Enceladus. Cassini launched from earth in 1997 from Pasadena, California but did not get to Saturn till 2004. Cassini had to go 4.9 Billion Miles to reach Saturn. 27 Nations participated to find out more about Saturn and its rings. Cassini collected a lot of data and over 400,000 pictures of not only Saturn but Saturn's rings and moons. Saturn's axis is tilted with respect to its orbit around the sun, just like Earth Saturn has seasons. One of Saturn's seasons last 7 Earth years, and has 7 seasons. Saturn spins faster than any other planet except Jupiter, completing a rotation every 10 and a half hours. This rapid spinning causes Saturn to bulge at its equator and flatten at its poles. • 17. Saturn Research Paper Saturn Introduction Ever gotten bored of Earth? Want to live in an isolated place, away from Earth? Then Saturn may be the perfect getaway for you! Experience a whole new atmosphere and come visit our beautiful landscapes. Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun and the second largest planet in the solar system and has 700x the volume of Earth. Saturn is 1.4 billion kilometers from the sun and is the farthest planet visible to the naked eye and is a tan color in appearance. Composition Saturn is a gas giant, made up by mostly hydrogen and some helium, both very light elements which make Saturn the only planet denser than water, which means it could float in a bathtub! (If large enough, of course) Hydrogen and helium are also the same elements that make the sun. Inside Saturn, there is a tiny, dense core made up of rock, ice and other elements made solid by the pressure. This core is surrounded by a layer of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Saturn's axis is titled 26.73 ° comparable to Earth's 23.5 ° tilt, which gives Saturn seasons. Saturn rotates in the same direction as Earth, which is east to west. Its rotation is surprisingly fast, being equivalent to only 10.7 earth hours. This causes Saturn's equatorial radius to be 10 percent wider than its polar radius. However, its orbit around the Sun is quite a bit slower. One full orbit takes 29 years for Saturn to complete. As for weather, Saturn averages a temperature of about –168 ° C with winds as fast as 1800 kilometers an hour in the upper atmosphere. Appearance Saturn gets its color and stripes from different atmospheric gases. Its beige color comes from yellow ammonia crystals in the upper atmosphere. Tourist Attractions Rings The Rings of Saturn make Saturn unique. Unlike other planets with only a few rings, Saturn has thousands of colorful rings are made of mostly rock and ice. • 19. Saturn Research Paper Saturn is one of the most well known and loved planets in the solar system known for its many features, including its incredible rings, beautiful color and much more. Saturn is a gas giant made up of mostly hydrogen and helium, similar to Jupiter another gas giant. Saturn is the sixth planet from our sun and the second largest planet in our solar system. It's the furthest planet from Earth that's still visible to the unaided human eye. Saturn is an incredible and outstanding planet with a huge history and intricate details that make it such a spectacular and important part of our solar system. Saturn was named after the Greek God, Cronus. Saturn was the most distant of the five planets that were known to ancient civilizations. Galileo Galilei was the first to look at Saturn through a telescope in 1610. But the oldest written documentation of the ringed planet can be traced back to the Assyrians. When around 700 BCE, they portrayed Saturn as "A sparkle in the night" and named it "Star of Ninib." Later on in 1659 a Dutch astronomer called Christiaan Huygens suggested that there was a thin, flat ring surrounding Saturn as he watched Saturn through a much more powerful telescope then Galileo's. After that in 1675 Jean–Dominique Cassini, an Italian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After all, as planets orbit established positions, the axis of astrology encompasses the idiosyncrasies of the planets. Additionally, a familiarization of Greek and Roman deities benefits the comprehension of the various planetary personalities. The Inner Planets The moon and the five planets closest to the Sun are relatively quick, moving through an astrological sign in less than a year. Thus, the combination of their positions and their effects vary significantly among individuals. The Sun The elegant brilliance of the Sun generates life, establishes purpose, and provides direction. Notably, this majestic orb impressively blazes as the kingpin of the solar system bestowing ego, pride, passion, arrogance, and strength. Along with these attributes, the Sun controls a person's desire for growth and expansion. Ultimately, the Sun determines the scaffolding of an individual's personality and destiny. The Moon The synchronicity of the moon is phenomenal: instinctively maintaining its composure while continually rotating during orbit. As much as we'd all like to think dinosaurs are some ancient race of space aliens that formed our universe, it's more likely they witnessed this even from the very same Earth we live on. Also, they probably had no idea what was going on. HOW SATURN GOT ITS RINGS Red Bull gives you wings but it didn't give Saturn Rings. Saturn was first discovered in the 1600's by a bunch of old astronomers who were probably drunk on wine. This lead to four hundred years of debates about how old space was. On October 11th, 1968, Apollo 7 launched with a three–person crew: Schirra, Eisele, and Cunningham in a Saturn IB rocket (NASA "Apollo 7"). This rocket type of rocket was also the launch vehicle for Apollo 5 and consists of two stages: S–IB as the first stage and S–IVB as the second as well as the third stage in the Saturn V rocket. For eleven days, the crew performed tests that would prove the capabilities of the CSM and the crew such as performing a simulated LM docking and CSM rendezvous. After entering Earth's orbit with the third stage, S–IVB, CM pilot Scott performed a maneuver that detached the CSM from the S– IVB and docked the CSM with the LM, which was still attached to the S–IVB. The CSM's service propulsion system (SPS) was tested and deemed capable to propel the LM and S–IVB when the LM is docked with the CSM. After a few orbits, the S–IVB was detached from the CSM–LM combo, and was propelled out of earth's orbit into the sun's orbit (a new S–IVB is used for each mission). A few orbits later, LM pilot Russell Schweickart and Commander James McDivitt crawled through the tunnel connecting the LM to the CSM and performed tests on the LM to test the engines, systems and steering. The next day, extravehicular activity (EVA), or activity outside of the spacecraft, was performed by Schweickart and CM pilot David Scott as they took pictures of each other and their surroundings. The other major task accomplished by this mission was the separation and redocking of the LM to the CSM. The two spacecrafts orbited the earth separately for about 12 hours, and then were successfully redocked together. Schweickart and McDivitt crawled back to the CSM, and the LM and CSM were separated again. The LM was also jettisoned into space since it would burn up on reentry into Earth's orbit on future missions due to not having a heat shield. (Brooks et al. 292– 300). • 33. The Moons Of Saturn : Orbital Motion The moons of Saturn are numerous and diverse ranging from tiny moonlets less than 1 kilometer across to the enormous Titan, which is larger than the planet Mercury. Saturn has 62 moons with confirmed orbits, 53 of which have names and only 13 of which have diameters larger than 50 kilometers (Porco 2009). Twenty–four of Saturn 's moons are regular satellites; they have prograde orbits not greatly inclined to Saturn 's equatorial plane, while the other 38 are irregular satellites (Turrini et al. 2009; Grav et al. 2015), whose orbits are much farther from Saturn, have high inclinations, and mixed between prograde and retrograde orbits. 3.2.2 Theories of Saturnian' Satellites Several theories have described the orbital motion of the eight major satellites of Saturn (Mimas, Enceladus, Tethys, Dione, Rhea, Titan, Hyperion and Japetus). Because of resonances, the theories by Struve (1898 and 1933), Woltjer (1928) and Senclair (1977) described the motions of satellites in pairs (e.g.: Mimas–Tethys, Enceladus–Dione, Rhea–Titan and Titan–Hyperin). Kozai(1957) and Rapaport(1977) have improved such theories and adjusted their constants. Taylor (1984), Taylor et al. (1987) and Harper (1988) have developed the theory of Hyperion and Iapetus by adding some of missing terms. However, the above theories still not accurate and the residuals with observations from the Earth are about (~1400 km) in the Saturnian system. They are separated from the four inner planets by something referred to as the asteroid belt, which is filled with big chunks of rock that are called asteroids. The asteroid belt lies between Mars and Jupiter. All the outer planets are gas giants. They also take longer to orbit the sun than the four inner planets, because they are much further away from the sun. Let's explore each of the four outer planets. The four outer planets are much larger than the inner planets, and their surfaces are mostly made of gases, such as hydrogen. Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun, or the first outer planet. Universe is a mysterious world that is incomprehensible to clarify. After the tremendous explosion, hundreds of billions of stars were swirling and interacting with each other by gravity, constituting a galaxy. Yet, out of all the planets, Saturn, perplexed many astronomers with its discoveries. First and Foremost, the "chemical compounds in its upper atmosphere color, its cloud bands in subtle shades of ivory and broad, lacy rings that encircle Saturn", captivated the astronomers with its charm. Although, ancient Greeks were able to detect Saturn thousand years ago, no one conceded that Saturn had its rings, until Galileo perceived them with his telescope in 1610. • 49. How Saturn Is The Planet Good old Saturn. Now, in the charts we talked about, his Sun–Saturn is on her Moon and then her Saturn is on his Nodal axis so it plays an important role here. We're going to talk about Chiron too, and hers is involved with the Moon T–square as we talked about and his is conjunct her Venus– Uranus. When Saturn makes an aspect with another person's personal planet or with an angle, it plays a key role. Saturn is the planet involved with restriction, with our self–doubt, with our commitment as well, and our sense of realism, with what we feel is real. Therefore, as I mentioned earlier, it is very common to see Saturn aspects in synastry charts of people in long–term relationships, because it shows this ability to commit, or to try and make a go of it. We're prepared to work at that particular relationship. It generally makes the couple more determined to work at problems and be in it for the long haul. It's important to note that both Saturn and Chiron do often crop up in relationship synastry – we often see one or the other or both working in the cross–aspects. They may not be the easiest to deal with but we enter relationships for other reasons than just being happy, we are looking to understand ourselves, as I said. Now, you often see this in quite clear stages through a relationship which has these strong Saturn aspects. You know, in the beginning there can be almost a reluctance to enter into a relationship or a commitment with another person, because it's setting off ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It has an incredibly thick and organically rich atmosphere and a vast number of different liquid conditions. The numerous ways in which its atmosphere and liquids interact results in the formation of a vast array of different organic and prebiotic molecules, making it an excellent location for the possible development of life, despite its frigid temperatures. Understanding how life could form on Titan would give insight regarding not only how life formed on Earth, but also to how, what ways, and what forms life could form on other planets with conditions dissimilar from Earth, opening up the number of planets that could be seen as hospitable to life, as well as possibly expanding the search for life to icy moons. Titan's atmosphere and liquid conditions, surface and subsurface, its primordial conditions, as well as Titan's frigid subzero temperatures, all place limitations on and give new opportunities to the formation of life in ways that resemble Earth's life, but more frequently in ways entirely different, in chemical composition, general structure, and metabolism. However, in some ways, Titan's conditions may be too unstable and harsh for the development and survival of life. Titan's atmosphere is one of the key points to the possibility of life developing on Saturn's largest moon. • 59. Lord Byron's View Of Prometheus For hundreds upon hundreds of years, writers have utilized poetry to express a certain feeling. To do this, poets rely primarily on pathos to make the reader feel something and allow them to identify with the poet himself. Master of establishing mood, which Merriam–Webster defines as, "a distinctive atmosphere or context," Lord Byron never fails to communicate his exact thoughts. With the precision and accuracy of a surgeon, he manipulates words and sentences to say exactly what he means – nothing more, nothing less. Lord Byron uses words to convey his reverence of and thanksgiving towards Prometheus, ad his hatred of Zeus. According to some versions of the Greek myth, Zeus tasked the Titans Prometheus and Epimetheus with the job of distributing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although the writer understands Prometheus' sacrifice and offers him praise for it, he detests the outcome of the situation. Lord Byron seems to foster resentment towards Zeus for punishing Prometheus when the Titan only acted out of pity. Using phrases like, "the deaf tyranny of Fate," and, "the wretched gift Eternity," Byron appears all too familiar with twisted forms of judgement. Displayed so ruthlessly in this story, Zeus heartlessly exiled Prometheus to a fate so terrible, no mortal could truly imagine it. Zeus' heartless decisions establish a tone of bitterness and resentment which subtly accompanies the other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cold War: The Space Race Barely even half a decade after World War II, the world would again enter a war of a different nature where tensions between United States and Soviet Union would continue to rise as both sides threatened to use weaponry that if used would evidently lead to mutual and total destruction. Known as the Cold War, these two nations with their respective alliances, NATO and Warsaw Pact, would be in constant political conflict caused by their clashing ideologies and beliefs. In what would later be known as the Space Race, to stay ahead of the other in technological advancements these two nations would compete against each other in the exploration of the world beyond earth, serving as a showcase of more advanced rocket technology that could be applied ... The development of the launch escape system (LES) for the Apollo program did not come to use, but showed its effectiveness during the LES test flight that did fail. During one of Saturn's rocket LES test flight with Little Joe II booster, the LES showed its potential and capability as it cleared the exploding rocket stage and landed safely. The LES utilized a system of linkage to the rocket if one link is broken it will activate its escape launch sequences. This system's performance during the failed test flight presented its ability that the LES on the Apollo command module is capable of saving its crew from death if catastrophic failures occurred during launches. Similarly, redundant structural testings at Marshall Space (MS) center in Alabama ensured a safe and successful flight of the Saturn rocket. NASA used the MS center for engine and structural testing and simulation to simulate vibration and launching parameters. During initial testings of the rocket's main engine, a faulty fuel pipe created oscillation and destroyed the engine. It was later fixed from elastic structure to stiffer one which had caused the vibration. The MS test center carried a huge responsibility and ensured the proper function of each integral part of the rocket to "remain above the figure of 0.990, or 99 percent". These tests created the foundation of the successful Saturn launches ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Earth 's Planetary Group This semester in physical science I have realized numerous things, yet what I discovered to be the most fascinating was the point at which we discussed the earth 's planetary group. I discovered that the earth 's planetary group has numerous things in it, however as large as the earth 's planetary group is it just has one stay which is called Sol which is otherwise called the sun. The earth 's planetary group is 4.568billion years of age, and it comprises of eight planets. The IAU is right now perceiving five midget planets, however of the five there are perhaps a few hundred more to be named. At this point there are 431 common satellites, and of those 173 of them are planetary and 258 of them are named minor. There are 659,212 referred to lunar planets and 3296 comets as of September 25, 2014. Our earth 's planetary group just has nineteen round satellites in it starting now. In the event that I were to rundown the planets by separation from the sun, they would be: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. The closest planetary framework is Alpha Centauri which is 4.37 light years away. As specified before the midget planets and they are: Cereces, Pluto, Humea, Makemake, and Eris. The orbital rate of our earth 's planetary group is as of now recorded as being 220km/s, and the orbital period is 220–250 MY. Our seeing about the universe and our spot in it has changed about whether. New data can make us reevaluate what we know and reconsider how we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Saturn is a gas giant. These are just the basics of the planet. There are many notable traits of Saturn that have been studied and analyzed. There are many intriguing facts about Saturn that i've discovered. Saturn's presence has been known for thousands of years. It's able to be seen by the naked eye with the correct equipment. Saturn has a radius of 36,184 miles. It is 890.7 million miles away from the sun. A day on Saturn lasts ten hours and forty two minutes. It's orbital period takes twenty nine years. Saturn is made up of 96% Hydrogen, 3% Helium, and 1% of other elements including methane, ammonia, ethane, and hydrogen deuteride. (Coffey Universe Today) The state of the gases change with pressure and temperature. Therefore, there are more than just gas states found on the planet. There are liquid and molten states. The rings have earned Saturn the nickname of "The jewel of the solar system". Saturn's rings were first seen by Galileo in 1610. What the rings truly were remained a mystery until 1655, when Christiaan Huygens discovered they were planetary rings. These rings are made up of dust, rock and ice. The rings accumulate these items from passing comets, impacts on its moons from meteorites, and the planet's gravitational pull. Although Saturn isn't the only planet with rings, it is given the most credit. This is because its rings are the largest and most vivid out of the planets. Each ring orbits the planet at a different speed. The rings have simple names. The A,B,C,D,E,F, and G ring. There are more specific names but this is their simple form. The gaps in between them are also named. Each gap and ring range in size, and have different features found in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 67. A Closer Look at Mimas Essay The Saturn Moon Mimas Mimas is an inner moon of Saturn and is the innermost of the major moons, which are Enceliadus, Tethys, Dione, Rhea, Titan, Hyperion, Iapetus, and Phoebe. Mimas has a crater named the Herschel Crater, which is approximately 88 miles and one–third the diameter of Mimas. The walls of the Herschel Crater are approximately 3 miles high and parts of the floor of the crater range approximately 6 miles deep. The central peak towers of the Herschel Crater on Mimas are almost 4 miles above the floor of the crater. To imagine this crater on Earth, it would be around 4,000 kilometers. A English astronomer named William Herschel, had been using his 40– foot reflector telescope when he had made the discovery of Mimas on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This close orbit means that Mimas probably has received several times the rate of collisions as the collisions of other moons of Saturn. Mimas and another Saturn moon, Rhea, have been called the most heavily cratered bodies in the Solar System. It is believed that the craters on Mimas have been around since the beginning of the Solar System. Mimas is so heavily cratered that new impacts will overwrite the old craters that were created in the past. There just is not a part of the Mimas that has not been pounded by impacts. Mimas being closer to Saturn is what kept it from being heavily cratered compared to Saturn's other moon Rhea. Results of the crater impacts are hard to detect due to Mimas being a warmer and consequently softer moon, which over a period of time its earlier features had faded away as a result of this. The older bigger craters can still be seen, even with all the impacts the moon has received. Most of the surface on Mimas is saturated with impact craters, which the range in size is greater than 25 miles in diameter. But no others are nearly as large as the well known crater Herschel. This suggests that early in its history, Mimas was probably impacted by even larger bodies than the one that had created Herschel, which had completely disrupted the new moon, wiping ... • 69. Saturn Research Papers Saturn may be one of the nicest looking planets in our solar system from the outside, but what's unique about the planet lies within it. You probably think of Saturn as a huge planet that has multiple rings around it. Well, that is true, but this isn't what makes Saturn one of the most interesting planets in our solar system. Saturn has a numerous amount of qualities that most planets don't have. For example, Saturn is the least dense planet in our solar system even though it is the second largest planet. What this means is that if there were a giant ocean that Saturn can fit in, then the whole planet would just float to the top of the water. Not only that, but 1 year on Saturn is around 29.46 Earth years. Nevertheless, Saturn is a very mysterious/unique ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of the rings are visible and some of them are not. All four of our solar system's gas giants have rings, but the reason Saturn stands out from the other planets is because you can actually see its rings unlike the others who have faded rings. The rings may be large in size, but Saturn's rings are only less that 1 kilometer thick. Not only does Saturn have very thin rings, but Saturn also has a handful of rings. Although it might seem that Saturn has just one enormous ring, it has several rings that are placed, not combined, into groups to make them look like one giant ring. Some of these groups are visible, but there are a numerous amount that are not. The groups that aren't visible are instead of away from Saturn. If you look at a picture of Saturn's rings you can see that the more the rings go towards the planet, the less visible they become. Some of these groups have gaps in between each other, such as ring A which is the ring that is farthest away from Saturn and ring B which is closest to ring A. The gap between these two rings is the most visible of all the gaps in between Saturn's rings due to how immense it is compared to other gaps. This gap between A and B is called the Cassini Division since the man who discovered this gap was Giovanni Domenico Cassini. Also, the smaller gap on the outside of ring A is the Eneke Division. These gaps are useful for astronomers so their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 71. Saturn Essay Saturn Saturn is one of the most interesting planets in the solar system. It is the sixth planet in the solar system, and is most famous for its stunning array of rings. It is a very easy planet to pick out in the sky because it is one of the brightest lights in the shy. It also has a very faint greenish color that makes it stand out from the rest of the objects in the sky ("Astronomy for Kids"). Saturn is the second largest planet in the solar system, Jupiter being the only planet that is bigger. It also has at least eighteen moons, more than any other planet in the solar system. There have been three voyages to this extraordinary planet, and one is still in process today. The Pioneer II traveled to Saturn in September of 1979, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Saturn is the second largest planet in the solar system. Jupiter is the only planet that is larger. The gas giant is 72 thousand miles in diameter, almost ten times the size of Earth. In spite of its huge size, though, Saturn weighs very little. It is a very light gas planet. Saturn is the least dense planet in the solar system–– so light, in fact, that it would float in water. This planet is mostly composed of hydrogen and helium, like Jupiter, but it is much less dense. The combination of its light weight and fast rotation causes Saturn to spread out, or oblate, its center. Since Saturn is a gas planet, it does not have a solid surface. Spacecraft are unable to land on this type of surface. The clouds that are seen when looking at Saturn are just the top layer of a very deep layer that covers a center of liquid hydrogen. The clouds are blown by constant winds that reach speeds up to one thousand miles per hour at the equator of the planet ("Great Space Place"). The rings of Saturn are more spectacular than those of any other planet. Although this planet's rings are very wide, extending from the top of its atmosphere to well beyond the orbits of its closest moons, they are very thin, measuring no more than a few kilometers (about a mile) in thickness ("Great Space Place"). The Pioneer 11 flyby made several discoveries about the rings. The rings are made of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What I saw and learned that night about Saturn, Jupiter and the constellations was remarkable and complemented what I have being learning in my astronomy course. The night of the observation was a clear night. The sun was out, it was 9:30 pm and we could see the yellow and orange spectrum of the sun. This was a great example of what happen to the Northern Hemisphere in June solstice, when days are longer. That bright night I saw the planet Earth satellite "our beautiful moon" growing larger and on waxing crescent phase. Looking in the telescope I saw the craters made by the impact ... • 75. Jupiter Research Paper Have you ever wondered how the planets got their names? By comparing the characteristics and stories of gods with that of planets, the mystery behind the names of the planets will be unveiled. The mystery behind the naming of the planet Jupiter is quite simple: ancient Romans observed that Jupiter was the biggest planet and therefore was named after their god, Jupiter because he is the king of all gods. Jupiter is also the god of lightning, storms, and the sky. On the massive planet of Jupiter, there is a gigantic hurricane storm that has lasted for at least 300 years. Also called the Great Red Spot, it appears red because of certain chemicals like sulfur and phosphorous in anomia crystals contained in Jupiter's clouds. At the largest recorded ... Saturn's mother Gaia, Mother Earth, tasked him with killing her husband Uranus. Under the cover of night, Saturn killed his father; but when he died he spawned three new species. Erinyes or Furies, goddesses of vengeance, giants, who simply exist to fight and wage war, and nymphs, earth goddesses. Uranus also gave birth to one last child during his death: Venus, goddess of beauty. Uranus is actually a Greek deity, there is no Roman counterpart, making it the only planet to be named after Greek mythology rather than Roman. The discoverer of Uranus, Frederick Herschel, named the planet Georgium Sides after the king of England at the time. Fortunately, the name did not stick because citizens of other countries were not satisfied. Seeing an opportunity, Johann Bode suggested Uranus because it continued with the mythological theme. Uranus was also suggested because like Saturn is the father of Jupiter, Uranus is the father of Saturn. Uranus's moons are uncharacteristically named after characters from English literature, such as Shakespeare's many plays. Although, one of Shakespeare's characters and Uranus's moons overlap into the world of mythology: Cupid. Cupid is a character in Shakespeare's Timon of Athens, but he is also the son of Venus and grandson of Uranus. In this example, and through ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 77. Saturn V Rocket Essay The research that I have done is about a space station with a design based off of the Saturn V rocket that I have made. During this paper i will talk about its background, the parts, how it works and how it is different from the ISS (International Space Station). The Saturn V rocket has 3 stages in its launch. The first stage carries around 203,400 gallons (770,000 liters) of kerosene fuel and 318,000 gallons (1.2 million liters) of liquid oxygen needed for combustion. At liftoff the F–1 rocket engines produces 7.5 million pounds of thrust. The Saturn V rocket was a rocket that used the tallest and heaviest rocket for low earth orbit (LEO). It was launched 13 times with no loss of crew or payload. The Saturn V was designed under the direction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Saturn V rockets used for the Apollo missions had three stages. Each stage would burn its engines until it was out of fuel and would then separate from the rocket. The engines on the next stage would fire, and the rocket would continue into space. The first stage had the most powerful engines, since it had the challenging task of lifting the fully fueled rocket off the ground. The first stage lifted the rocket to an altitude of about 68 kilometers or 42 miles. The second stage carried it from there almost into orbit. The third stage placed the Apollo spacecraft into Earth orbit and pushed it toward the moon. The first two stages fell into the ocean after separation. The third stage either stayed in space or hit the moon. Now we will talk about how fast the Saturn V rocket can go. In order for the Saturn V rocket to break free of the Earth's gravitational pull, it will need to travel approximately 7 miles per second. The fastest speed obtained by a manned vehicle orbiting the moon to Earth in 1969 is 11.08km/s or 24,791 miles per hour. After the launch the Saturn V burned for almost 6 minutes giving it a velocity close to the Earth's escape velocity of 11.2 km/s or 25,053 miles per ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
