It was the very last day of summer, definitely the worst. I ordered my new rental trumpet, and the music company said it would be here the next
day. I was super excited to actually play a musical instrument, not just some plastic recorders. The next day I go into band and there my trumpet is
waiting for me. When we got in we were all excited and ready to play, but nobody knew anything... really about band. Our band director, Mr.
Camarta gave us all an idea of how to use an instrument. After that he told us to grab our mouthpieces from our cases, and to try and make sound
with them! So we pull them out and try to use them, but when we did it sounded horrible! Even the choir director said "I think some cats are dying in
there!" but I'll never know what it actually sounded like in the choirs point of view.
We all took our instruments home to practice that day. The next day we came back and some of the kids already knew the notes! Mr.Camarta told us
to take out our instruments and to put the mouthpieces on them. We tried a few tunes from the book after learning the notes, and it didn't sound half

We all looked at it at first and were clueless. Nobody knew what anything meant. Then we got our second peice called The Lost Kingdom which
sounded good the first time we played! It didn't sound great, just good. We all practiced and practiced and practiced until one day I heard about an

Chamber Music Concert
Concert Report
On Monday April 10, 2017 I had the unique experience of attending the Chamber Music Concert. I found out about the event through the moodle
page and it seemed like a good fit for my first classical music concert. The venue for the concert was Bezanson Recital Hall where the concert
promptly started at 7:30 P.M. It was a free event and so therefore the seating was first come first serve or general admission. As I arrived at theconcert,
light illuminated from the center stage where the first musicians eagerly awaited to perform. As I looked around I witnessed many people in the

As I mentioned, I had never been to a classical music concert before and for this reason did not know what to expect. I have not listened to much
classical music in the past and was honestly slightly skeptical about how thing would go. Typically the concerts I attend are very loud and with a lot
of crowd noise as they are more mainstream. This classical concert contained very interesting works of music and was different in that the audience
was silent as the musicians performed. Everyone seemed to be more intrigued to simply listen and hear the works of art that these musicians were
putting on display. I found the event to be very relaxing and interesting with some of the background knowledge I have acquired throughout the
semester. I was able to grasp and take in the experience more due to the knowledge I have progressively gained about music throughout the semester. It
allowed me to listen in a different way and focus on certain things rather than just the overall sound. All in all, this was an eye–opening experience that
allowed me to take in and appreciate the art of classical music along with the skills these musicians

Chamber Music Concert
The concert that I went to was Masterworks Series in BargeMusic, New York City's floating concert hall, located in Brooklyn. It was a classical
chamber music concert, compose by two instruments of the string family of cello, and violin and in the percussion section the piano. The selections
played at the concert were; Barber(1910–1981) Sonata for Cello and Piano in C minor, Op.6. Beethoven (1770–1827) Sonata in C Major, Op 102 No.1.
Weber–Piatigorsky(1786–1826) Sonata No 5 in A Major, Op.10b, J.103, and last but not the least Beethoven(1770–1827) Piano Trio in E–flat Major,
Op.70 No.2. During the concert there was a small intermission of about 15–20 minutes. I really liked the concert, but what I loved the most was the

Ann Arbor Concert Review It was January 18, 2015, and my dad and I had arrived in Ann Arbor, MI to watch the Ann Arbor Concert Band. Today's
concert was called the "Wilkommen: A tribute to Ann Arbor's German Heritage" concert held at the Michigan Theatre. This concert featured some of
the most famous German composers from the Baroque, Classical, Early Romantic, and Romantic eras of music. The program included "Vienna

Johannes Brahms wrote this song because the University of Breslau gave Brahms an honorary doctorate in music (Schwarm). Brahms was flattered so
he thanked the university, but according to a friend, the university wanted Brahms to write a music composition for the university (Schwarm).
Therefore, Johannes Brahms began to compose the song. Brahms received some of the inspiration for the song from drinking songs (Schwarm).

Essay On A Music Concert
This afternoon, I went to the music concert hall where is located in the music building for the listening hour, a small noon–time concert which is
performed by the staff and students from the music majors. Since it is a free noon–time concert, most of the audiences just wear the t–shirts and jeans
to the concert. Dresses are not required for the concert. The performance today is given by the Ananda Jazz Ensemble. They have played "Running
Away", composed by Bob Marley; "Madalena", composed by Ivan Linz; "Conejitos y Ananda", composed by Abi Romero; "La Bikina", composed by
Ruben Fuentes; and "Chukaro", also composed by Abi Romero. Because this is a Latin Americdan Journey, all of themusic performed is jazz music.
All pieces played in the concert are an ensemble of piano, bass, and drums. During the concert, I was trying to be a perceptive listener; I enjoyed the
music with concentration and paid attention to the music's unity and variety, such as the dynamics and tempos. I also tried to associate the music
with a picture when I listened to it and understand the emotion in the music. The first piece played in the concert is "Running Away", given by Abi
Romero who plays the piano, Satoro Tagawa who plays the bass and Brandon Winans who plays the drums. The historical period of this piece of
music is the Contemporary Period. The style of this music is jazz. It is a chamber music. It only has one movement and totally has three patterns. This

Music Concert Critique
The overall concert offered a wide verity of choir song, from classical pieces composed by Mozart to musical show tunes. The combination of
which resulted in an overall enjoyable experience. The concert was not the first choir concert I had ever attended so I went in expecting it to be
similar to the high school choir performances I have seen before. I was not expecting the scale of the concert to be so large. Instead of being one choir
and an hour–long program there were four groups along with a much longer program. Each of the choir groups had a different dynamic, sound and feel
to it. The differences made it interesting.

Each new voice built on the others until the entire choir sang one line at different times and in different keys. It never achieved the complexity that
the baroque fugue compositions were known for but it possessed the same power. With the layered voices and imitative structure, the song didn't feel
as thin as it would have had the words been sung in a single voice. Instead, it was full and had the overall feeling of the music conveying the meaning of
the words more than the actual words.
The two songs that made the grates impression were "there is nothin' like a dame" sung by the singing cardsman and "light of a clear blue morning"
sung by the collegiate chorale. They were not the traditional chorale songs I was expecting to hear. The first song stuck out because of the
performance itself. The men made it entertaining as explained earlier. In contrast, the second song had a high clear sound that contrasted with the
emotion the soloist managed to evoke. The words of the song produced a sorrowful mood but the crispness of the soloist's voice brought the feeling of

On October 16th I attended the choral music concert in UNC Wilmington's recital hall. The performance consisted of a concert choir and a chamber
choir with Joe Hickman as the conductor. The concert, which was entirely performed by students, had a number of instruments, like the viola, trumpet,
and timpani, playing during the concert choir. I had been to very few choral music concerts in the past, so this experience expanded of my

Music Concert Report On Sunday, May10 2015, a concert was held in The Broad Stage. The concert was played by Santa Monica College Symphony
Orchestra, whose conductor is Dr. James Martin. For this concert, I would identify myself as a referential listener at this concert. I say this because I
am not an expert in music, therefore it would be hard for me to be a critical listener. I wouldn't be able to tell what went wrong with a performance
even if some incorrect notes were played. I was more of a referential listener because the music was soothing and brought my mind to peaceful
thoughts. This essay will tells my experience of the concert in order to persuade my friend to attend a classical music concert with you in the future.

This afternoon at 12:30, I went to the listening hour, a free noontime concert, at the Music Building. The concert of the day is SJSU Saxophone Studio
and Dr. Victoria Lington's Saxophone Ensemble Concert. Since it is just a one–hour noontime concert, most of the students there just where their
t–shirts and jeans to the concert. The SJSU Saxophone Studio students have played six pieces of music in one hour. They began the concert with Sonata
no.3 composed by George Frideric Handel (1685–1789). The second piece is Quartett (Allegro de Convert) composed by Caryll Florio (1843–1920).
Then the third piece they played is Saxophone Concerto. After that, they played Premier Quartet op. 53 that composed by Jean Baptiste Singelee and
Cello Suite No.1 BVW 1007 that composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. The last piece is Rondo, composed by Zdenek Lukas (1928–2007). All of the
music performed today is classical music. Only the first and third piece play by alto saxophone with piano accompaniment. And the second, fifth and

The audience in Wheeler Concert Hall at the University of Evansville hushed as the conductor tapped his baton on the music stand in front of him.
Raising both hands in the air, scanning the performers of the orchestra to make sure everyone had their instruments in place and appeared ready, he

Everybody has the natural capacity to comprehend and appreciate music. There are numerous hypotheses as to why this may be, yet it has turned into a
fundamental piece of people. People have communicated through music since the beginning of time. Some even think that music came before the
spoken language. Straight forward tribal rhythms developed into numerous sorts of more intricate music, including traditional shake, jazz, and R&B,
while the styles between these numerous sorts of music may differ.
In Seminar in World Music, we explored the basic development of music in the different cultures. In this class, we explored music throughout the
world. Each culture has its own unique evolution, and this class gave us an introduction to 11 different cultures and the development of the music in
that area of their musical forms. Music of China, Japan, Europe, Latin America, Sub–Saharan Africa, Middle East, The Caribbean, Indian, and Native
America are some of the different cultures that we focused on throughout the course of the semester. The history and development of the music in these
different cultures have influenced Western art music as we know it today.
After completing Seminar in World Music, I have realized how important it is for music students to familiarize themselves with music from different
cultures.

The Lyrique Quintette, Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall
Leonard Bernstein stated, "Music can name the unnamable and communicate the unknowable" (Wandberg, 2001, p. 16). This means that music has the
power to transmit, inspire passion and sensations that mere words will not do. As a part of the curriculum for the class Music Lecture (MLIT 1003), it
was required to attend a classical music concert in order to perceive and analyze distinctive elements of the performance.

This concert opened with Le Grand Tango by the Argentine tango composer Astor Piazzola. Some of the most relevant aspects that I noticed of this
pieces were its arrangement, tempo and mood. Even though this piece was originally composed for piano and cello, the arrangement made for quintet
added new combination of timbers. Also, it was noticed that Le Grand Tango' first section was predominantly exalted by the rhythm. Nevertheless, the
second section of the piece presented a change of dynamic because of melancholic mood mixed with some jumps of expressivity. Finally the last
section's main attraction was the variable tempo providing a taste of excitement and energy. The second piece analyzed was Quartet in E– flat Major
op.51 movement 4 by AntonГn DvoЕ™ГЎk. Before the performers started playing, one of them gave a brief story about this composition. There are
two factors that was relevant to me. First, this composition was not originally made for woodwind quintet; however, one composer prepared this

My Experience At A Music Concert
In September, I attended the concert Windfire: Flute and Percussion Spectacular at Rammelkamp Chapel. Paula & John Kasica performed on the flute
and percussion with Nancy Shaaf accompanying on the piano. This was my first time attending a live classical music concert. I didn't know what to
expect. My limited experiences with classical music were listening while I studied or using it to fall asleep at night. Honestly, I worried that I might
fall asleep during the concert. As it turns out, I had no reason to fret. I brought my two nieces (Mackenzie and Naylani) and my daughter (Talia)
along with me to the concert. My girls asked me what to expect and I had no answers for them. The flutist introduced herself and asked if we
played any instruments. We each told her our instrument of choice that we someday hoped to learn. Eagerly, we awaited the start of the program.
"Sweet Simplicity" was the first piece played. Instantly, we were spellbound. My eyes went immediately to the pianist's fingers as they danced on
the ivory keys with such passion and vigor. It was the flutist that drew my nieces' eyes, as they watched the purse of her lips and the way she
controlled her breathing. John Kasica's percussion playing is what hooked my daughter. She watched as he rhythmically tapped on the drums, his body

The event I choose to attend was the Concert featuring Maestro Soler in Taylor Auditorium. The event started out with Professor Jones giving the
audience an introduction to what type of music we will be hearing also a bit of background information about Maestro Soler. Soler is a classical

The second concert I attended was the Shepherd school of music collegium concert at Rice University. The program featured music from the
renaissance and was a little bit different then the orchestra concert I attended. For one there were fewer musicians. It had a more intimate setting, not a
big theater but rather a small rehearsal hall. The musicians exchanged in and out after there part of the performance was over and there was some
singing as well. The beginning of the concert started off with a performance of Claudin De Sermisy's "Content dГ©sir (1544). There were viols and
recorders used during this performance. I wasn't very impressed by the overall performance. The muscians were not always on the same page and it
sounded bad at times.

In this virtuoso series concert, the style of music displayed was different pieces from 1756–1983. There are six groups who performed and the
instruments range from horn, violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, harp, percussion, and a beautiful voice. This concert was full of new sounds, and I
wasn't very familiar with these different sounds and instruments that were being played. My initial reaction to this chamber ensemble was that I

Their use of music was very different because each of them had music in different time periods. They demonstrate a lot of different things through
their music like sound, the arrangement of the instruments, and the different tempos. I've gained a lot of appreciation through their music because
looking at all those people how they play their instruments and the vocals are extremely hard. I was very amazed with the sounds that they gave off it

The Music And Dance Concert
The World Music and Dance Concert series this year was diverse in their expression of the different countries represented. For example, countries such
as Haiti, The United Kingdom, North India, China and many African countries were represented during the performance. Between both their
representation of typical music and dances performed, the concert accurately depicted what a typical scenario in each country would look like. The
atmosphere of the performance can be described as exciting and optimistic. I was interested to see what the concert would entail; I was pleasantly

Oppositely, while more towards the front of the stage there was a group of dancers performing. All dressed in different colors, they performed
together dancing to the beat of the songs sung. There were two guys both dressed in white, while the girls all had on colorful outfits. This piece kept
the audience's attention because of all that was happening created an appealing visual for people to watch. Eventually, the dancers left, leaving the A
cappella group to set forward and allowing them to perform separately. They performed a modern–day song that according to the pamphlet was
released in the United Kingdom, and it turned out to be a song that was a chart topper. The fourth performance can be described as poetry,dance and
music all combined. This section included three separate performances going onstage at the same time. There was dancing performed by Zelma
badu–Younge. While the musical portion was performed by Paschal Yao Younge and Azuguno, and the poem part was spoken by Abla Dzifa
Gomashie who moved around the stage as she spoke. She questions what it means to be, and make a woman a woman. This piece captured the
audience's attention by having separate events going onstage, so nothing was ever still. The music dictated the pace of the dancing on stage.
Eventually, once the music picked up so did the dancing and the speaking on stage. More towards the end of the performance both women on stage

I don't taste weird things and only recently tried bacon. But I have made a few linguistic mistakes on my travels. In Serbia, I asked for "Vodu"

Music has been around for centuries and has taken many, unique forms over the past hundreds of years. Every culture, big or small, has their own
different style of music. Music has evolved to become a fundamental constituent of human life. I have been to many different instrumental
performances, but this was my first concert that I attended since I have been at LSU. The setting of this event was that it was located at the Union
Theatre, and it started at 7:30 pm. The Union Theatre was an amazing venue. I walked through the front doors and into the lobby of the theatre, where
a person was waiting in the box office to take my money and give me a ticket. When I received by ticket, I was handed a program and went inside the

The first family of instruments was the percussion section. This family caught my attention because I used to play percussion in high school. They also
caught my attention because this family emphasizes and sets the rhythm of the piece. I really enjoyed the xylophone instrument during this concert
because the xylophone brought out the melodies in each piece. Another family of instruments that caught my attention was the low brass section. I
enjoyed this when the intense moment of a song came on because the low brass instruments emphasized the dark moments of the intense sections of
each song. This emphasis brought out strong emotions out of me towards the songs. There were 5 guest conductors during this concert, but each one
had their unique style of conducting their songs. All five conductors wore tuxedos with a white bowtie. When the conductor approached his podium,
the band was stomping their feet to applaud him. He approached his podium and bowed to everyone. These conductors pointed at a certain family of
instruments during a part of a song to emphasize those instruments to play louder, or softer. The conductors also raised their hands when they wanted
the band to perform a louder dynamic change, or lower their hands when they wanted the band to perform a quitter dynamic change. I was really

On Wednesday, November 30th at 7:30 p.m, I attended "The Lebanon Valley College Chamber Orchestra and String Chamber Ensembles". It took
place at the Lutz Hall. This hall is located at the Blair Music Center (LVC). It can fit up to 500 people. This time there was about 50–60 people. For
this event, the hall was not decorated as I expected. It had a camera in the middle, recording the concert and that's about it. The stage was big, it fit the
26 members of the orchestra comfortably.
Entering the hall, there was a guy with the programs on his hand. He was very sympathetic. He handed one (program) to everyone that came in. Inside

With a total of five performances. Johannes Dietrich was the conductor and he played in all of the performances. The first performance was "Mc
Mozart's Eine kleine bricht Moonlicht Nicht Musik" by Teddy Bor. This performance lasted for about four minutes. It had a total of four members.
Two girls and two boys.Two of them played the violin, one the viola and the other one the cello. Since this was the opening of the concert I thought
they were going to play something longer. They also didn't have an intro, which surprised me a little bit. But the overall performance was great. It
was very calm and relaxing and everyone seemed to enjoy it. There were four other performances. Five Sketches for string trio Op.23, Quintet in d
minor, Concerto Grosso Op 3, No. 4 in F major and the last one was Symphony No. 104 in F Major (London). All of them were not that long. I
noticed that on the last two performances they added more people. On the Concerto Grosso there was 15 members in total and on the Symphony
there was 26. After each performance there was a "break". On that break all they did was prep the stage for the others. Some of the things they did

The Offspring's Music Concert
Of the '90s hard rock (American "punk"), I particularly like The Offspring, Green Day, and Blink 182. I have some of their albums. I don't mind
hearing some Simple Plan either. They are from my X Generation. I have the "Ixnay on the Hombre" album in CD format and their Greatest Hits.
The Offspring's songs have a lot of bass in it without sounding metal, so I know why it appeals to you. Today was the first time I visited their official

relevant 100 years from now. That is in contrast to the lyrics of "Self Esteem": I just think that some people should not share all of their personal

Student Chamber Music Concert
On Monday, April, 18, 2016, I attended a concert held by Wake Forest University's Department of Music. The performance was titled "Student
Chamber Music I Concert" and it began promptly at 7:30pm. 7. The program that was distributed when I came in was very helpful in explaining the
repertoire. The music to my surprise was very enjoyable! The concert began with a flute ensemble. The first work they played was called "Allegro" by
Demenico Cimarosa. This sonata was originally written in the Romanic Era for the piano. There were six flutists playing. The next composition was

There were two students with violas and two students with cellos. They began with "My Lady Hundson's Puffe" by John Dowland. At the
beginning of this song from the Renaissance Era, they plucked the strings of their instruments. One of the cellists left and began to play the
harpsicord. I could not tell when this work ended and when the next work, "John Come Kisse Me Now" by William Byrd began. I felt awkward
because neither I nor the audience gave applause. This work was also from the Renaissance Era. The harpsichord solo was very unpleasant to listen
to. Their final performance was, "Two masquing dances" which featured "The Goates Masque" and "The Witches' Second Dance". The works were
composer was anonymous. Even though, these two works were from the Renaissance Era, they had more melody and somewhat of a sonata form. This
was my least favorite section of the concert. Following the Consort were four guitarists. They played Gypsy Dances, Op. 55 by the Twentieth Century

Before attending this concert, I was a little skeptical about it because I am not one for loud and crowded places. I know, I know, why would you go

Since this was a Christian rock concert I can easily agree that many of the characteristics of rock and roll music which are discussed in the text book
were definitely prominent in this concert. First, was the use of the drums, each of the different bands had a designated drummer who was the only
drummer throughout the entire performance. It was kind of interesting however, because in most performances you don't usually see the drummer sing
but when watching the band Wolves at the Gate their drummer sang a small part in one of their songs. Next is the very heavy use of the bass, while
I through enjoyed the concert, the bass was incredible and I definitely left the concert with a headache, but it was well worth it. With the heavy use
of the bass, I felt like I wasn't just listening to music but the bass was so strong you could really feel it too. In bits and pieces of different songs

I, Randy Rivas, attended a solo performance by Dr. Li–shan Hung at Cerritos College. The performance location, took place in the music building at
BC–51 on January twenty ninth at eleven in the morning. The performance was played on the piano with three amazing pieces; Impromptu in E–Flat
Major D.899 NO.2 by Franz Schubert, Ballade No.4 in F Minor, Op.52 by Frederic Chopin, and lastly Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel

I was attached to slower parts in the pieces but the fast rhythms and melodies caught me off guard and it kind of shocked how it when to soft to
strikingly loud. Talking about the dynamics there were loud parts after the calm and gets even louder when it progresses in some parts. There were
parts when the sound fades a little and comes back pulsing with energy and it is really ecstatic. I think she really projected the light melodies really

In September, I attended the concert Windfire: Flute and Percussion Spectacular at Rammelkamp Chapel. Paula & John Kasica performed on the flute

Hopelessly, we searched the forest for the man that was no longer there as the haunting melody played. Suddenly, the percussion began and we
envisioned our hero dashing in to save us. Our bodies swayed to the rhythm as we saw Ariadne and Dionysius triumphantly dancing. The "Suite
Antique" prelude brought us back from the forest and enthralled us with the playing of the instruments. Naylani began lifting her arms as though she
were playing the flute herself, mimicking the actions of the flutist and the movements of her body as she drew breaths to play. I watched as the pianist's
fingers moved eloquently. Soon, my fingers strummed upon my knee in my own attempts to replicate the piano playing. As the ostinato took over the

The chamber music concert was held in Manhattan School of Music at 5:00 pm Friday, April 15. The concert was conducted by many instruments
with various types of music. The atmosphere was fairly intense as the concert hall was approximately the size of an average home living room with
about 35 people in the audience. The camber concert was divided into two major parts with an intermission of 15 minutes in between the parts. As for

The distance from the performer and the audience was so close, allowing you to speculate every single emotion being produce throughout the concert.
The room itself had a very tall ceiling which made this unique echo that amplified the instruments sound. The audience seemed very profession as total

The concert took place at Manhattan School of Music, which is located in the performing arts recital hall on Monday, May 1, 2011. The stage
setting was neat, demonstrative, and very well organized as I first entered the entrance. I could feel electrify with many extreme bright lights hanged
on the top, which made me felt more exciting. There were many types of people coming in this concert including teenager and elderly. This concert

was conducted by Dr. Nicholas Muni from MSM Symphonic Band with one of the talented musicians from PCSl High School, Ms. Jai Sun Song.
The Manhattan School of Music Band performed a total of fives pieces such as the "Drayton Hall Esprit" by Francis McBeth, "Sea Songs" by Ralph

The Importance Of A Classical Music Concert
An integral part of learning an instrument is watching and listening to professionals. We have the opportunity to hear several guitar concerts each
semester.
If you've never attended a classical music concert before, you might feel uncomfortable with the idea of it. This is perfectly normal and is not specific
to classical music. I'm sure you can imagine how out of place one might feel attending a Phish concert if one wasn't accustomed to the culture that goes
along with that music. The same can be said for all genres of music.
The main thing to remember when attending these concerts is that the focus is on the sound of the music. There are no fancy lights, dancers, or
singers; all you will see is someone sitting on a chair playing guitar. Aside from some pretty funky facial expressions, there is not a heavy visual
element to classical guitar concerts. Furthermore, the sound of the guitar is very delicate. This means that the audience has to be even quieter than they
would be at an orchestral or wind ensemble concert. You should behave in a way that allows your complete attention to be on the performer and does
not distract your fellow audience members.
When you focus on the sound of the music, you may be surprised at what the guitar is capable of. The following is a list of some things you can listen

A Night of "Guitars" Not like a first concert I attended, this show named "a night of Blues" had a little bit small and less impressive. It was not
because the show was boring, but just a few people joined this show, the theater is also smaller, too. It was a Tuesday evening of April 12, me and
my sister knew that there also had another concert held on the VPA, but still decided to go to this concert because we all love guitar. We headed to
school at 6: 45 pm, took the seats opposite to the theater and looked around. There was two kids coming with his father, they looked so happy.
After a while, there was some of their friends joined. We bought a coke and some snack before go inside. Like the first one, we found our seats
perfectly in the middle of the theater. The concert began at 7:06 pm instead of 7:00 pm as it was supposed to be opened. I guess because just only five

Concert Chamber Music Analysis
The concert Chamber Music by Two, Three and Four was made up of three different pieces. Each of the three pieces were composed by, in order, W.
A. Mozart, M. Ravel, and J. Brahms. Performing the pieces were Alicia Eppinga on the cello, Barbara Corbato on the viola, Mark Clinton on the
piano, and Mihai Craioveanu on violin. These musicians performed sub–sections within the pieces known as movements, which brought their own
sense of individuality to the piece while still creating a sense of unity across the board.
The first piece consisted of piano, violin, and cello. In each of the movements, there were different musical contexts and styles that lead to the creation
of a story– the different phases of life. As the entire piece progressed, the tonality shifted from being very light hearted, energetic, and happy in the first
movement, to a calmer more relaxing mood in the second, to a more tense and high strung character in the last. There were more noteworthy
characteristics of the piece other than the shifts in tone. For example, the piano seemed to remain the dominant instrument throughout the whole piece
while the violin and the cello accented it and added depth to the different movements creating a homophonic texture. Throughout the second movement,
the violin and cello mimicked the melodies of the piano quite a bit as well. Tempos also varied according to the movement, contributing to their tones.

Over the past weekend, I attended four concerts of the same band and I noticed something that I've noticed consistently throughout the many shows I've
attended – the immense response of women where music is concerned.
Now, at these shows it's only natural for us to gravitate toward new people. It's a new atmosphere, especially for those of us who don't have friends
with a similar music taste, and it gives a chance to gush about how talented the guitarist is or the vocal range of the lead singer. We are a community
of music lovers and it shows in the turnout of the concerts I've had the opportunity to view live these past few years.
It goes without saying that we are often ridiculed for the kind of music we enjoy growing up, the same can be said for a few of my peers, and it does

About two weeks ago, there was a concert called Music a la Carte by a the OSU music faculty showcase. The crowd was mixed of people; young and
older audiences. There were many performers that performed. The tunes were pleasing and enjoyable to the audience. There were ten songs played in
the afternoon.
Francesco Paolo Tosti, an Italian composer and a music teacher. By the 1885 he was one of the most popular composer of songs in England. He
created a music called Ideale. It was performed by Mitchell Hutchings and Lauren Servias during the concert. Lauren Servias played the piano. It
sounded soothing and slow. It was very easy to listen to. In addition, Mitchell Hutchings was the person who sang in an opera like voice. It was deep
and slow. The duet was very talented.
Flow, My Tears by John Dowland, an English Renaissance composer, lutenist, and singer. John Dowland is best known today for his melancholy
songs. The performers who played this piece is Nicholas Larson and Cameron O'Connor. Nicholas Larson was the person singing. He was similar to

On December 3, 2015 the University of Florida's School of Music hosted a concert at the University Auditorium where the Jazz band performed. The
band consisted of four sections: saxophones, trumpets, trombone, and rhythm. The Saxophone section performers included Greg Snider (Alto), Dustin
Fergerson (Alto), Ben Grier (Tenor), John Peasant (tenor), Tony Laracuente (tenor), and Ryan Colon (Baritone). The Trumpet section performers
included Sean Bocinsky, Ben Rochford, Lucas Owen, and Brantley Daniel. The trombone section performers included Stephen Anderson, Jacob

Though my ears are not exceptionally honed nor trained to point out musical mistakes, I would like to add that mistakes, if any, were not thoroughly
noticeable. The musicians blended well and produced the right effect based on the musical context. However, when the vocal soloists sang in the final
movement of the Ninth Symphony, their voices were drowned out by the loudness of the orchestra and large chorus. It did not help that the soloists
were located lower than chorus, which made the perception of hearing the soloists more difficult. The conductor, Hector Guzman, was effective in
leading the music in that whenever the piece called for dynamics, his movements told the musicians how much more or less it was needed. And also,
Mr. Guzman did not just interact with the orchestra, but the chorus and vocal soloists as well. He seemed to be respected by his fellow musicians and

Tithe Music Concert
On Friday, February 23rd 2018, I attended a music concert at Chabot college at building 1300. The concert was tithe "wind symphony". The name of
the performers was Chamber Ensemble, The Orchestra, The Wind Band and Jazz Ensembles. During the concert Timothy Harris was the conductor,
Gray Hill the guest conductor while Joe Bonfiglio, the soloist. The instrument of the ensembles were Horns, Trumpet, Trombones, bass trombone,
Harp, percussion, Clarinets and Bass Clarinet, Bassoons and contrabassoon, 1st violins, 2nd violins , flutes and piccolo, Oboe and English Horn,

Reflection Paper On Music Concert
I attended a live classical music concert on October 11th, 2017. The concert was held in the Art Gallery at Marlboro Hall and was a piano trio. A
piano trio is an ensemble that typically includes a piano and two other string instruments. The piano trio in this concert consisted of pianist Hyeeun
Hahm, violinist Benedict Sin, and cellist Pecos Singer. They performed four selections, "Trio Op.1, No.1" byLudwig van Beethoven, "La Calesita" by
Mariano Mores, "Milonga" by Alberto Ginastera, and "La vi Llegar" by Enrique Francini. Beethoven's composition, "Trio Op.1, No.1," will be the
composition discussed for the rest of this paper.
All of the instruments that were present played in "Trio Op. 1, No.1." This specific selection was chamber music. Chamber music is music that is
meant to be played in a small room by small orchestra or ensemble. This type of music is usually separated into a fast movement, a slow movement, a
dance–inspired movement, and a final fast movement. "Trio Op.1, No.1" has a fast movement, titled Allegro, a slow movement titled Adagio Cantabile,
a dance–inspired movement titled Scherzo, and a fast movement titled Finale. This piece was also in sonata form as it had an exposition, a
development, and a recapitulation. None of the compositions in this concert featured a composer. Instead, all of the performers worked together to
make sure each of their parts were heard equally.

October 28th was the day of the Latin Music Recital in the Caine Performance Hall. This was only one of many performances that week. Latin is a
genre of music that unless I have come across it at other such events I have not heard it otherwise. Thus it is a genre that I had to do some research
on in order to better appreciate what I was hearing. This concert was basically split into two parts each part had a main soloist on guitar that was
accompanied by other musicians. The concert hall, since this was going to be mainly solo music to begin with, had all of the sound absorbing curtains
up so that all would be able to hear the solo guitarist. A main center spot light on stage helped me to know where to focus because I was a little
unsure of what to expect from this performance. Based on my observations, most of those around me had no idea what this concert would be like and

After the host welcomed the audience and informed us all about what Latin Week on campus was about and what the events were he invited on
stage the first performer after which he, the host, promptly left the stage. The room was deathly quiet as we waited for the solo guitarist to tune her
instrument. The guitar soloist was on stage and performed roughly six or eight pieces, none of which were announced by title. At the conclusion of
those six or eight pieces the guitarist then introduced a clarinetist and a flutist who would take turns playing solos with her. The two other players
switched on every other piece and played a duet with the guitarist. These pieces like those before were unannounced so I quit looking at the program
altogether because I didn't know any of the pieces for starters and if they weren't going to be mentioned I decided to just enjoy rather than worry about
