Astronauts Changing Perspective
We rarely focus on our attitude towards things, but what if we did? The novel An Astronaut's Guide
to Life on Earth by Chris Hadfield explores what can happen when we look at situations differently.
How can changing our perspective help us succeed when faced with a difficult challenge? In the
beginning of An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth, Chris Hadfield says, "we become competent.
[...] Astronauts have these qualities [...] because we are taught to view the world and ourselves
differently. [...] It's mostly a matter of changing your perspective" (36). It means that by changing
our perspective we will thrive because we have the skills and qualities that are necessary to achieve
our goals. All we have to do is change our outlook and we

Team Development And Leadership : Example Of Unhealthy...
Team Development & Leadership | L7438 A01
Example of unhealthy agreement within a team.
Unhealthy agreement occurs when everyone adopts the same point of view and follow blindly, as
opposed to introducing and considering other options and perspectives (Sims, 1992). According to
Sims (1992), Beech–Nut displayed a huge case of unhealthy agreement when they changed their
ingredients and lied about what they were selling to consumers. Employees displayed unhealthy
agreement by not countering the actions of the company, the unethical behavior of the company was
not questioned. Employees justified their behavior by convincing themselves of misgivings of other
organizations, the thought that they weren't hurting anyone, and by taking comfort in ignorance
(Sims, 1992). The organization may have had better success by properly communicating the issues
they were having and welcoming suggestions or alternatives that allowed them to continue to be
truthful and sell a healthy product.
Explain how this unhealthy agreement relates to the concepts of the Abilene Paradox and
Groupthink.
The Abilene Paradox, according to Taras (1991), is when members of a group as well aware the
problems facing the group based on a decision, and privately admit their disagreement, but publicly
agree with the decision despite reservations. This is kind agreement is unhealthy because it causes
the group to go through unnecessary strife, instead of just voicing the objections and possibly

Analysis Of The Poem ' The Wife 's Lament '
"What was it like to lose him? Asked Sorrow. There was a long pause before I responded: It was like
hearing every goodbye ever said to me–said all at once," quoted by Lang Leav. I used this quote to
present a similar description on how the wife feels about her husband. "The Wife's Lament," is one
of the most identifiable Anglo–Saxon elegies and one of the earliest and unique illustrations of a
poem composed from a woman's point of view in British literature. There is no evidence whether
the author is a man or a woman since the author did not present himself or herself. In the poem, it is
obvious that she yearns for her husband deeply, but it does not tell you if he returns her feelings.
"The Wife's Lament," is a preview into the tenth–century Anglo–Saxon England, a point in time
when wine streamed in the rivers, and colossal titans roamed the earth. The poem setting is the wife
is in a stone cave surrounded by water with no one to help her if she is in danger. In the beginning of
the poem she introduces her elegy as a sad tale of her heartache; that never in her life she has gone
through. She tells the reader how her husband's family sent him out to sea and does not know if he
will come back to her. The wife then explains how she is anxious for him, she does not sleep, or she
wakes up in the morning, and only thinks about her husband. The she made the decision to be
banished, which was a norm for women whose husbands had died or left them. She then goes to his

Principle of Management Course: My Experiences
Principle of Management Course: My Experiences
I believe that the Principles of Management course provided me with invaluable information which
will help in furthering both my professional as well as personal life. I believe that learning is a
process by which an individual undergoes certain changes. Also, during the learning process, many
of the beliefs which a person holds are challenged. I underwent various changes during this course.
This paper will explain those changes. Furthermore, I will detail the concepts, ideas and situations
which had the greatest impact on me. Before taking this course, my definition of the concept of
management would have been strictly based on power relationships within an organization, how to

At times, I possess an almost fanatical desire to achieve my goals.
This fanatical desire is so strong that it can override friendships, destroy relationships and alienate
people. I also began to notice that I had the tendency to act quite insensitive, inconsiderate and not
be approachable. Once I had identified this problem, I realized that I needed to diversify myself by
adding elements from the other roles, such as mentor and facilitator. I believed that if I
complemented my director/producer roles with elements from the mentor or facilitator roles, then
this would enable me to foster a collective effort, be sensitive towards the needs of individuals and
still be able to achieve my goals. This was the second phase of my learning: I had identified a
personal deficiency and needed to work towards complementing my director/producer roles with
roles from the Human Relations quadrant. One of the key concepts of management and the key
themes of the course was teamwork. We were organized into teams and the team was the unit by
which the Professor measured our performance. By working in a team–environment, I was able to
learn the value of multiple perspectives and the need to use different roles depending on the
situation. In analyzing Synergy, Inc., I learned that we had fused the three perspectives to create a
unique identity and structure. For instance, in the strategic design perspective, tasks were organized

The Secret Of Empathy, Enlightenment, And Internal Growth...
The Secret of Empathy, Enlightenment, and Internal Growth There are two senses of reality:
external and internal. External reality is an observable universe, but perspectives differ and thus
cause different opinions. To experience internal reality is to confuse one's own reality with a shared
reality, resulting in a loss of empathy and disregarding how others are affected. An external mindset
displays an understanding of different opinions in a shared world, whereas with internal mindset a
person's devotion to a belief becomes their private world. When a person is passionate about their
beliefs they tend to disregard other perspectives, or live internally. This is a common practice
because, depending upon upbringing, different moral values have been instilled in the person.
Typically, people will not partake in activities or actions that defy their morality, so they tend to
align with others who share similar values. However, people who are unwilling to think beyond their
own beliefs lose their sense of empathy. The more devoted a person is to their morals, the less
empathy they might have. When we look outside ourselves to other perspectives, we can better
connect to an external rather than simply an internal reality, approaching the world with an
enlightened state of mind capable of both empathy and consistent growth. A less narrow–minded
person is capable of accessing an external reality. Typically, it seems that the more devout citizens
are more closed–minded. They

Changing Perspective
People, especially diverse people of contemporary times commonly look at other people, situations,
or life events with different perspectives. Sometimes looking at other people, situations, and life
events with different perspectives cause people to make snap judgments without factual knowledge.
Contributors such as personal beliefs, religion, culture, mood, personality, and relative situations can
influence an interpretation of a person or event, cause a snap judgment, or possibly change another
perspective. Other contributors that add influence to the common influences of perspectives and
judgments are environments and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The woman's personal beliefs can be innate from learning experiences or a genetic inheritance that
reflects her personality type. Innate learning experiences or genetic inheritances of accepting people
of any race is possible in making a snap judgment to rent the apartment to the multiracial family.
The family inquiring about the apartment rental may have an influence regarding the woman's mood
too. Something in the situation such as politeness and enjoying the company of the children in the
family may have set the motion for the woman's mood. Another spark in the woman's mood can be a
reflection of her own children and family situations. Remembering her past, for example, maybe the
woman and her husband are immigrants from the Old World and difficulties with living
arrangements were part of her early family experiences. Another example of personal experience
can be knowledge to a similar situation quite rewarding in one way or another. Religiously the
woman in the scenario can similarly view the situation as going against the grain but from a
different perspective such as going against the grain of her higher power and accepting all
individuals. Many factors contribute to what influences individual perspectives and subsequent
judgments according to the perspectives. Commonly one influence can lead to another influence, for
example, innateness, and

Reflection On The Word ' Reflection '
For me the word 'reflection' means taking time to really dig deep into my thoughts, to contemplate
something meaningful and significant, to make a decision that often involves me and my future. It
has a personal and emotional connection. Daudelin (1996) uses the word 'reflection' to encourage
managers to create time to recognise the value of learning from past and current work situations
('experience') and to adapt this learning to new situations. I would prefer to choose the words
'thought' or 'consideration' when applying the idea of reflection to my own work environment. To fix
my thoughts on what I have learned or to carefully consider how to approach a problem would, for
me, be a better fit. I might, however, choose to reflect on how the past year has been or to reflect on
the direction the organisation is taking, but not, as Daudelin suggests, bring the word into every day
use.
Boud et al. (1985) suggest that we can't learn from experience alone and ask the questions: What
transforms experience into learning? What enables learners to profit from the situations they find
themselves in? How does experience relate to new situations?
Daudelin (1996, 39) offers a definition of reflection that catches its relation to learning:
Reflection is the process of stepping back from an experience to ponder, carefully and persistently,
its meaning to the self through the development of inferences; learning is the creation of meaning
from past or current events that serves as a

Prejudice, Prejudice And Prejudice
These days, there is a marked prejudice against prejudice, and understandably so. More often than
not, "prejudice" refers to an "antipathy based upon a faulty and inflexible generalization."1 Insofar
as prejudice refers to thought or action beclouded by hatred, it warrants condemnation, not defense.
However, prejudice also has a broader meaning. According to the Oxford Shorter Dictionary, it is: "a
preconceived opinion; bias unfavorable or favorable."2 It refers to "life circumstances" and
"perspective." Prejudice is any source of judgment whose validity one has not ascertained for
oneself. The aspiration to banish prejudice in this broad sense reflects the assumption that rational
judgment must be untainted by prejudgments of any kind. This way of thinking about judgment, and
the renunciation of fixed ideas it implies, is misguided. Prejudice gives life experiences their
subjective meanings. But prejudice can also be both illuminating and consistent with freedom. The
concept of detached judgment (itself a kind of prejudice) was shaped during the Enlightenment
(1685–1815). As Hans–Georg Gadamer points out, "The history of ideas shows that not until the
Enlightenment does the concept of prejudice acquire the negative connotation familiar today."3 The
word "prejudice" actually comes from "prejudgment," which means "[having] either a positive or
negative value." This meaning, he continues, was limited during the Enlightenment "to the sense of
an unfounded judgment" – that

Perspective Of Perspective
Perspective is the way that people perceive things in the world around them. Common influences
include the way people grow up and how they live their lives. Perspectives are always changing, and
different events in life can cause them to be a certain way. The way we build perspective depends on
who we are as people and they are very important. They affect the way we process information and
make decisions about things in everyday life. Another strong influence to perspective is emotion and
memory. To what extent do emotion and memory falsify history? Emotion and memory are not
reliable enough in themselves, but they can help us draw conclusions and form our perspectives.
Emotion and memory can taint history with personal opinions and feelings, ... Show more content

Often, we absorb most the select information that we have access to without realizing it. As a result,
people may remember events different than they happened without realizing it. It is even common
that the memory itself changes the more it surfaces in our minds. When we remember situations, we
are not remembering the event. We are actually remembering the last time we remembered it, so we
will not end up remembering it the same way. At the same time, our mind changes a memory every
time we think. This could lead to the publishing biased information. Historians must have to come to
a common decision or agreement when documenting history. They must talk through what they want
to document and then decide what to write down. There are strengths of historians having different
perspectives. For example, they explore the many different sides of something together. There is
more information to sort through, even enough to fill in gaps that others failed to bridge over.
Different sides to a story can help people to understand. There are also weaknesses to historians
having different perspectives. Disagreements can cause confusion and conflict. It makes it harder to
know what the truth is, if everyone seems to have different truths. Information could be somewhat
inaccurate or biased as a

Pivotal Moments In To Kill A Mockingbird
"De leur meilleur côté tâchons de voir les choses:
Vous vous plaignez de voir les rosiers épineux;
Moi je me réjouis et rends grâces aux dieux
Que les épines aient des roses." –Alphonse Karr, which translates to
"Let us try to see things from their better side:
You complain about seeing thorny rose bushes;
Me, I rejoice and give thanks to the gods
That thorns have roses."
In 1853, Alphonse Karr wrote this in his book, "Lettres écrites de mon jardin" ("Letters written from
my garden"), extending on the idea of perspectives through nature. Moreover, perspective is
everything. Especially in Harper Lee's book, "To Kill a Mockingbird" where Atticus teaches Jem

occasion that Scout and Jem encounter racism first–hand. Jem and Scout feel as if they're the objects
of somebody else's racism, which place them in a rare position. Henceforth, Scout and Jem
understand that no matter what they do or how persistent they are, they will still be dealt like a
superior of the black community and they see this owing to perspective. Scout and Jem noticed the
black community of Maycomb County's of view by being the minority in the black church. Scout

Overview of the book
In the book "The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down," author Anne Fadiman presents a character
who suffered from epilepsy as a Hmong child who born on July 19, 1982, in Merced, California.
Being the fourteenth child of Foua Yang and Nao Kao Lee, Lia Lee was their favorite daughter.
They spoiled her and treated her like a princess; believed that her epilepsy marked her as special;
and that she might someday become a shaman, which is a person regards as having access to.
Because of their belief, the Lees were both concerned and proud of Lia. They brought her to the
Merced Community Medical Center (MCMC) for treatment, Meanwhile, they also practiced
traditional healing that involved call back her soul using tvic neeb. ... Show more content on

This book grapples with ethical dilemmas that can present themselves while working with people
from other cultures and professional disciplines.
Perspectives
From the perspective of the social worker Jeanine Hilt, systems perspective could be used to assess
Lia Lee, her family or those in the community of the book. System perspective sees human behavior
as the outcome of reciprocal interactions of persons operating within linked social systems
(Hutchison, 2013). When reading this book at the beginning, one may have thought of it as a story
about the collision of two cultures – a story about Lia Lee, Foua Yang and Nao Kao Lee, Neil Ernst
and Peggy Philp, and Jeanine Hilt–rather than Lia Lee's story. The lives of Lia Lee, Foua Yang and
Nao Kao Lee, Neil Ernst and Peggy Philp, and Jeanine Hilt were interrelated. In addition, the
influences of one and another's behavior had impacted the overall well–being of Lia Lee. The
mutual roles of caregiver parents and caregiver doctors had to keep adjusting their roles to
accommodate changing care needs. For example, the Lees believed in a little medicine and a little
neeb for treating Lia's epilepsy, under the circumstance, their beliefs impact Lia's illness when they
brought Lia to MCMC for treatment, while, practiced traditional healing to call back her soul.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's The Danger Of A Single Story
"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you" (Maya Angelou). In a world
where often the majority's voice is heard, it is easy to see only one perspective. However,
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a female Nigerian writer, persuades her audience to seek knowledge
from multiple perspectives of a story. Prompted by the increasing tensions between global
populations, Adichie in "The Danger of a Single Story," speaks through personal anecdotes enabling
her reader to understand the importance of analyzing and understanding multiple perspectives in
stories. Throughout the first anecdote, Adichie explains the danger associated with seeing a single
perspective of a story. First, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie portrays the literature of her youth: "All
my characters were white and blue–eyed, they played in the snow, they ate apples, and they talked a
lot about the weather, how lovely it was that the sun had come out" (10–12). Through the use of
"white" and "blue–eyed" Adichie creates a sense of desire. By placing both words beside each other,
and emphasizing the physical descriptions of the characters, Adichie strengthens the racial hierarchy
present in western literature. This strategy causes Adichie to question her own racial identity,
making her feel less valued than her western counterparts. In addition, the quote illustrates an
impressionable tone in which she openly accepts the non–applicable western values. Similar to a
child, Adichie embraces a single perspective

Analysis Of ' The Lottery '
Since reading The Lottery by Shirely Jackson, I've been thinking more about culture, traditions, and
perspective. Not just that, but how it can sometimes take adopting an unbiased, non judgmental, or
outside perspective in order to see things for what they really are. The way that the narrator in this
story adopts such a position allows for a clearer view of the events of the story.
In The Lottery, the narrator speaks to us in a non participant and objective manner. We hear and see
events unfold from an outside, "fly on the wall", perspective. No critique or judgement on the events
is provided by the narrator; we only can ascertain judgements and feelings from what the characters
do and say. By allowing us this viewpoint, we can make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

petulantly. "Bad enough to see young Joe Summers up there joking with everybody." "Some places

Tradition and ritual customs hold a really powerful sway. In the story, we read about how things
have subtlety shifted overtime in the ritual, or the artifacts used during it, yet it continues on. It 's an
accepted norm that no one wants to upend. This made me think about how our cultures customs
have shifted with time, but how many aspects remain unchanged. It could be for nearly anything,
such as how holidays are celebrated, or rituals like weddings, or how challenges to old norms are
often viewed with intrepidation or skepticism.
If the author would have adopted a participant point of view in this story, we probably would have
gained more insight into the rationales for holding an annual lottery to stone someone. All we can
ascertain is that the practice is an old

Why School By Mike Rose Analysis
Many are quick to disregard education's role outside of the classroom. According to Mike Rose, "a
good education helps us make sense of the world and find our way in it" (Rose 33). Rose
emphasizes the value in the experience of education beyond the value of education for the purpose
of custom or intelligence; he explores the purpose of going to school in terms of how he defines
himself and his personal growth in the stages of his academic career. By reflecting on his personal
experiences and how those gave him the tools applicable to his daily life, he emphasizes why
education should never be overlooked. Rose's referencing relatable experiences in a logical manner
makes his argument persuasive to the readers and he succeeds in making the readers reconsider why
education matters to them. In his book Why School?: Reclaiming Education for All of Us, Mike
Rose effectively persuades his audience of the importance of education beyond the classroom,
emphasizing how those experiences become crucial to one's personal growth and potential in our
everyday lives. Rose elaborates on the significance of the experience of education by reflecting on
his own perspective and how that shaped his identity. His childhood gave him the opportunity to
experience the contrast between a positive learning environment and a negative one; this also shaped
him to have an evident positive outlook on education. Rose suggests that the right learning

only will other people's views enhance ideas, but also is crucial for writing on a topic.

Concluding his piece, he states that video games can be hard (Johnson 201). This statement implies
Johnson has played video games himself, otherwise he would be contradicting himself of what he
says in the context. He talks about the gap between people who have or have not played them.
People who have not played them cannot talk about them "coherently" (201). Therefore, Johnson
must have played video games and gained a personal experience that makes him qualified to write

Different Perspectives In Octavia Butler's Kindred

their sense of reality. They each travel back to the antebellum South for different amounts of time,

privilege, while his wife Dana, a black woman, travels back to a time of hardship and enslavement.
Their contrasting perspectives cause them to see the world differently. For example, Kevin draws

No matter when or where they are, Dana and Kevin determine the truth through what see and what
they already know.
Kevin and Dana first conflict when Dana returns to 1976 for the first time. Kevin is in disbelief

despite the fact that he saw Dana disappear and reappear, something out of the ordinary. His
perspective is different from Dana's, meaning what he sees isn't always what actually happens. Dana
goes back in time, while Kevin saw Dana "vanish and reappear" (16). Despite not knowing what
Dana experienced, he still believes his point of view is a fact. Kevin insists Dana's experience was a

white male perspective, is objective and truthful, while Dana's is illegitimate. Kevin's view is similar

boredom overtook me, I began to listen to the conversations at the table. Dolly was a woman who

without his money she had lost her home. She had just started the Bridge to Life program that
helped homeless people get their life back on track. Through 10 months of different steps, the
shelter helped get them a job and pay off debts while housing and feeding them. As I heard this, I

stories. They had fallen on hard times and couldn't get back on their feet. I could feel myself soften
and become more interested in what was happening with them. I began to ask questions and Dolly
told it like it was, without sugarcoating the cold hard truth. I felt guilty for previously complaining
about not being able to play with my new toys and these people didn't even have a home much less
security like I did. I had such a perspective shift the next year I asked to serve on Thanksgiving. We
volunteered to be servers and take the shelter occupants' order. We then got the food and served it to
them like a five–star restaurant. As I served more people, I began to see the gratitude and
thankfulness in these people's heart. I tried to locate Dolly but she had done so well in the program
and moved out in her own house. Hearing about her success

knowledge that is without bias. The knowers all pursue the answer to their questions when
researching or learning the knowledge, which results in the similar way of thinking among the
similar communities. Few can detach themselves from the contemporary situation since the cultural
background, various eras, and diverse ways of knowing all help to shape the pursuit of knowledge.
While to a great extent I consider perspective as an essential factor in obtaining knowledge as
examples can be extracted from my Chinese cultural background, the ... Show more content on

Although the Chinese government promised to investigate the incident thoroughly, many western
media bitterly criticized the supervision system of food safety in China. From different perspective,
the foreign reporters did not have the intention to harbor the crime of the Chinese food companies
and the incompetence of Chinese ruling system. Moreover, foreign journalists began to suspect that
the Chinese press may have delayed reporting the incident in order to keep the "perfect" appearance
during the Olympic Games. For the 2008 Chinese milk scandal, the Chinese press held the
perspective which mostly preserves the prestige of Chinese government, while the foreign press
boldly deduced and query about the truth from another aspect. Thus, considering different
perspectives when gaining the knowledge will help people to generate more inference and get closer
to the truth. Perspectives can be evolved and altered as the time is progressing. As a Chinese old
saying states, "the spectators see the chess game better than the players", many who live in the
moment are unable to objectively justify the contemporary events happened around them. Only the
descendants, analyzing from new perspective, can draw a conclusion more comprehensively while
learning the history. Historians from different eras hold diverse perspectives, leading to various

New Swipe Card System At London Heathrow Airport
As described by Palmer, Dunlap & Akin, at the start of the peak holiday season, British Airways
(BA) employees at London Heathrow airport participated in a 24 hour wildcat strike due to the
implementation of a timeswipe card system that would monitor the employees ' clocked– in–and–
out hours. To the executives, this change represented an improvement in technology that would
increase organizational efficiency. To the staff, however, this change represented something entirely
different; distrust and disrespect.BA executives had a history of ensuring that the organization was
taken care of at the expense of its employees. Jobs were cut, agreements were broken, and this new
swipe card system was just another example of the executives finding a way to monitor and control
the staff to the organization 's economic gain. The staff feared that management would monitor their
hours and send them home during off hours and then call them back to duty at peak hours. In
addition, the way in which the change was communicated to the staff was what propelled the staff to
revolt. The executives sprung the change initiative on the staff with little warning and provided
inconsistent reasons for the necessity of the change. This made it nearly impossible for the staff to
accept or adjust to the change in a positive way.
The strike resulted in enormous losses to BA in terms of customers, employee morale, and overall
company reputation. Executives at BA did take a step back and reflect on their

Compare And Contrast Jack And Ralph In Lord Of The Flies
In the classic novel, The Lord of the Flies by William Golding, it explores the themes of the
different perspectives and ideologies humans use to civilize themselves. In the novel, the main
protagonist Ralph best represents the logical point of view, attempting to conserve the utopian
island, while the antagonist Jack best illustrates the savage point of view, which results in the
creation of a dystopia based on his lust for enjoyment. In Lord of The Flies, even though both Ralph
and Jack represent different ideologies, they do possess some similarities between them. While both
characters have different leading styles, it can be argued that they are effective leaders. They are
both adverse in inspiring those their followers, the boys in the island, with Ralph using hope for
returning to motivate the rest of the boys stranded in the island, while Jack uses fear against the
beast as a catalyst for his seizing of power. In my opinion, this similarity is the reason why these two
different pathways were capable of remaining popular among the boys or what they symbolize,
society. The reason for this is because as social creatures, humans need to have a high morale to be
able to achieve progress, which is something that requires capable leaders. Jack used a particularly
cruel method by making the beast as a sort of religion for the boys by using it as a figurehead for his
power. He treated the beast like a deity when he stated that the, "head is for the beast. It's a gift"

Changing Perspectives Of My Life
Changing Perspectives As I took my first step outside the door the warm midnight air greeted me
like an old friend. It was a pleasant contrast to the cold stagnant air on the plane. We had just flown
16 hours with only one layover and my legs had become achy and my neck stiff. "hold on tight to
your bags!" Bro. Powers, our youth leader, called out as we walked across the tarmac to go inside.
Apparently all of the eager gentlemen attempting to take our bags for us were not doing so out of the
kindness of their heart. It was common for men to forcefully offer to "help" you take your bags to
your car and then insist on a tip. All but one of our group heeded the warning and held on to their
bags. One crafty little man managed to pry a bag ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My life changed so much for the better after that night. In a life full of bad decisions, it only took
one good decision to turn it all around. It's kind of funny to think about looking back on it all. That
one single moment changed everything. A year later I found myself presented with the unique
opportunity to join a youth group going over to work at an orphanage in Africa. The evangelist who
preached the service when I got saved had started a mission in Africa some years ago preaching the
gospel and bringing food and other supplies where needed. Over the years that mission had
expanded to building an orphanage and starting churches in remote areas and even starting a Bible
school to teach them about God and to be preachers in their own villages. Our hotel was located
Moshi, a small but somewhat thriving city near the Kilimanjaro National Park. Despite being dry
and very dusty there were cafes and restaurants and even a few electronics stores. Not exactly what I
was expecting I'll admit. We might have the misconception that all of Africa is uncivilized and
everyone lives in huts and wears rags for clothes and while this might be true for some areas it
certainly is not true for most. The streets were littered with vendors selling anything from shoes to
art made with banana leaves and business men catching the bus to work. After an early breakfast at
the hotel we piled into our van

Changing Perspective From Global Warming

Changing Perspective from Global Warming to Climate Change Global warming is one of the
biggest problems facing the world today. Global warming is the rise in the earth's mean surface
temperature due to increase of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, which affects life forms on
the earth's surface. The scientific consensus as summarized by the Intergovernmental Panel on
Climate Change (IPCC) is that the global average surface temperature has risen over the last
century. Many scientists believe that global warming is caused mainly by the production of carbon
dioxide (greenhouse gas) and any fabricated pollution without taking into account the natural
factors. The earth is kept warm due to what is known as the greenhouse effect. Without it the earth
would be frozen; the short wave length of ultraviolet radiation coming from the sun penetrates the
atmosphere and is absorbed by the earth, which thereby warms the earth. These gases are known as
greenhouse gases. The effects of global warming include increased temperature, rise in sea levels,
increase in insects that spread disease and tropical storms. A greenhouse gas does not cause these
effects. The Great Global Warming Swindle documentary shows a group of scientists through
scientific research that carbon dioxide is not responsible for global warming. They believe the real
cause of global warming is the sun. Global warming is caused by the sun

Importance Of Reflection On Child Development
This play–based activity involved a table that had various elements to explore various sounds.
Amelia was guided to the table where another child was already present by the educator that she had
an attachment with. Amelia and the other child were babbling back and forth to one another. When
both children wanted to play with the same instrument, the educator let the children try to resolve it
themselves or intervened when needed. In this activity, Amelia was able to develop her social skills
by joining in play and cooperating with another child through her relationship with the trusted
educator.
Reflection of assessment practice
Moles (2012, p. 1) discusses that reflection on assessment of practice is essential for educators to
seek a different perspective of their teaching practices from others through feedback, consider
strengths and challenges in their teaching and build on their knowledge as educators (Miller 2011, p.
5; Moles 2012, p. 1).
In the VEYLDF (2016, p. 8), it discusses that educators can support children's development by
gathering information such as their interests and consider them when planning learning experiences.
What worked well in the implementation of the program for Amelia was the information gained
from her father which was used in the planning process. By forming a partnership with Amelia's
father, I was able to gain knowledge of Amelia's interests, what she did on the weekend and learnt
simple words in Bosnian. Bickley (2008, p. 1) supports

reason, he copied everything that Vera had done. He did not stand a chance against Vera's serving,

Changing Perspective One Note at a Time. Most importantly you must know that I am not a music
guru and never was. There was a time in the third grade when my parents took me to piano lessons. I
never caught onto what I was being taught and never understood the notes, they were a foreign
language to me. Not only that but I was never fond of my prior classmates that were band students. I
found myself often frustrated in my trigonometry class when I could not concentrate with the
percussionist constantly tapping his foot in the seat directly behind me and sometimes on the really
bad days he would tap his foot and click his pen at the same time. Now that you have theses side

I could not help myself I had to listen to it and not only because all the other girls acted like it was a
great song but it was also catchy. I stopped everything I was doing and set down my study materials,
I was in full absorption, listening to every lyric. Even if I could not understand every verse by its
context, I could at least tell every word that was sang. Songs like that are hard to come by now–a–
days. Verses such as "Can you imagine no love, pride, deep–fried chicken," really made me think
and I became heavily interested in what was trying to be expressed in the song, the deeper meaning.
At the same time there were so many verses that I could relate to, and that so many others could too.
Even though this song is sentimental to the lead singer, Pat Monahan, the lyrics are stated general so
many people can relate. I personally could tell that the song had deeper inner meaning through the
words, orchestra, and the result of being released. Shortly after being released "Drops of Jupiter"

Taking On Multiple Perspectives For An American Adult
The idea of taking on multiple perspectives can be applied to many scenarios, from making
decisions as the president of a nation to running a day care. One of the most accessible perspectives
for an American adult is the small business. By engaging in the perspective of other people at a
business you either work at or are a customer at, you gain a certain understanding that makes you
more relaxed and more pleasant. For example we can take an almost universal experience in the
developed world, ordering food at a fast food restaurant.
Let's say there is a line of customers during the lunch rush at your average fast food restaurant. The
line is taking extraordinarily long because there is only one person running the register and one
person ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next in line is person B. Person B realizes that everyone in line is there for food and must be just as
hungry as they are. He realizes that there are only two employees and that they are working very
hard to serve as many people as they are, perhaps they have been in that situation. Person B has a
greater understanding of the perspective of those around him and in turn is much calmer than person
A.
This example of taking on multiple perspectives shares in Zhuangzi's philosophy but is different
from his examples. The closest example would be the story of the butcher. "A good butcher changes
his chopper every year because he chips it. And average butcher changes it every month because he
breaks it" (Zhuangzi, ch.3). This is demonstrating two people, doing essentially the same thing, but
the way they do it makes their life more or less difficult. As the butchers gain a greater
understanding of the oxen they become more proficient.
"When I first began cutting up oxen, I did not see anything but oxen. Three years later, I couldn't see
the whole ox. And now, I encounter them with spirit and don't look with my eye ... That's why after
nineteen years the blade of my chopper is still as though fresh from the grindstone."(Zhuangzi,
Ch.3)
In the restaurant example person B is a better customer than person A. In something as simple as
being a customer it is safe to say that becoming irrationally upset would be analogous to

Life Perspectives In Amy Tan's 'Two Kinds'
Life experiences shape and mold us into the people we are today. These experiences form and create
our opinions on everything we see in life. Everything from our family to society heavily influence
our perspectives, whether we realize it or not. Experiences directly make up our perspectives.
Family members heavily influence our perspectives. From the time we are born our parents begin
teaching us beliefs and values that are "right" in their eyes. Amy Tan, the author of "Two Kinds"
talks about how it was living with a strict, traditional mother. In chunk 6, paragraph 67 Amy's
mother states "'Only two kinds of daughters.' She shouted in Chinese. 'Those who are obedient and
those who follow their own minds! Only one kind of daughter can live in this house. Obedient
daughter!'" Her mother drilled this idea into her mind, which definitely affected her to a large extent.
Her mother's expectations were too much, and she could never fulfill them. In her mother's eyes she
was a disappointment, and this experience changed her perspective on what's important in a person.
Another example of family influencing our perspectives is shown in "An Indian Father's Plea" by
Medicine Grizzly Bear. In the personal letter from a father to his son's teacher he expresses his
concerns for his sons education. Pg(99) "'My son Wind Wolf, is not an empty glass coming into your
class to be filled. He is a full basket coming into a different environment and a society with

The Substitute Perspectives On Tongue And Character By...
This writing audit will talk about the substitute perspectives on tongue and character by
Thornborrow, Edwards, Weber and Horner, and their viewpoints. The thought is to contemplate,
look at and show the refinements and comparable qualities as talked about by these author 's, and
state whether I agree or vary their work. Essentially, I will express why Tabouret– Keller 's work
differs in an approach to manage tongue and character.
Lingo and identity is generally perceived as who and what we appear to be, and where we start
from. Thornborrow states that one of the focal ways we have of setting up our identity, is through
our use of vernacular (1999). So also, Edwards (2009) states that the tongue we use shapes a basic
bit of our sentiment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As showed by Edwards (2009), everyone is used to supplement, language and vernacular
assortments that reveal speakers ' enlistments particularly talk gatherings, social classes, ethnic and
national get–togethers. Weber and Horner (2012) says that in any given place and time, a couple of
lingos will be viewed as being more useful resources than others, in a way that by and large depends
upon the particular setting we are in. Besides, Thornborrow (1999) states that identity is
multifaceted, people switch into different parts at different conditions in different conditions.
Moreover she says that a couple of arrangements of lingo are more regarded than others, and what
considers the famous shape can change the particular condition and kind of phonetic development.
Along these lines, people for the most part substitute their technique for discourse dependent on
where they get themselves geographically.
Weber and Horner (2012) states that "we" generally order different people by stamping them, trying
to settle some individual 's character, lessening it to a lone focus part that totals up his or her identity
"in our eyes." Likewise, Thornborrow (1999) says that social groupings, or characteristics of
character, are frequently constrained on a couple of get–togethers by others. She communicates that
a person 's social identity is not something that you can essentially choose alone, it is also "bound up
with how others" see you". Edwards (2009) says that

The Wind Of The Willows, By Kenneth Grahame
"Journeys provoke travellers, that may ultimately lead to transformation of self and leave the

In both The Wind in the Willows, and Journey to the Interior, the idea that journeys may provoke
travellers and ultimately lead to transformation of self and richer experiences, is clearly exhibited
within. Depending on an entity's current perspective, they may either embody provocative views,
such as the Rat in the Wind in the Willows and also the persona in Journey to the Interior, or even
have an accepting perspective to journey, such as the character of Toad. Through the use of tone,

Ultimately, because of the nature of the character of Rat, it is clear that this individual despises and
fears the idea of journey, showcasing how an entity's current perspective, can impede on their view
on, and appreciation of journey.
Moreover, in The Wind in the Willows, the idea that journey can lead to transformation of self, and
rich experiences is exhibited in Toad's ecstatic perception of journey. In this extract of the novel,
Toad believes that adventure is the only means of fulfilling and experiencing a real animalistic life;
'That's real life for you, embodied in that little cart'. The cart is symbolic of Toad's ambitious nature,
which is manifested through his jubilant tone and positive attitude in response to change and
adventure. This optimistic view on journey proves that 'transformation of self and rich experiences'
is attained by undertaking journey. Toad illustrates an image of journey as being something life–
changing; 'Travel, change, interest, excitement! The whole world before you and a horizon that's
always changing'. The cumulative listing of the intangible rewards associated with journey,
emphasizes how adventure can lead to 'richer experiences'. Additionally the metaphoric phrase of
the changing horizon represents Toad's intention of adventure and acceptance of and fearfulness of
change. Subsequently, because of Toad's optimistic and accepting perspective on journey, the quote

The Role Of Society In To Kill A Mockingbird
Society has made an impact on so many people as well as children. The world is changing around
us, you all have different points of views and different reactions. In the novel "To Kill A
Mockingbird", at the age of six Scout has learned that people can be harsh and that there is always
'good and evil in people' according to Atticus. A child's development can be understood as when
everything around the child changes them, from the parents to friends. Therefore, in "To Kill A
Mockingbird" it's shown that society can change people, but an individual can benefit from this
change when they see a situation not from one point of view but instead multiple.
Even small children can have the wisdom to see a situation from the perspective of the multiple and
to the contrary, sometimes, even an adult is stuck in a single–minded approach. In "To Kill A
Mockingbird" there is a strong character named Scout. Society has changed Scout at the age of six,
she learnt to view the world in a multiple minded approach. Atticus once told Scout "you never
really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view –– until you climb into
his skin and walk around in it". This quote from the novel shows us that Atticus is trying to teach
Scout that you need to look at his or her point of view before having an opinion or saying on a
situation. Before anyone talks first understand what is going on, imagine you are in that position,
right there, right then. After imagining that situation

The Concept of Change ... and Changing Perspectives
Changing perspectives...Change is a process, a transition or an alteration that affects different
aspects of our life. As a result the forces of change can seriously affect the attitudes, beliefs and
behaviors of individuals. The affects of change can have a positive or negative outcome. These
affects can be viewed in all three of the texts that we have studied for the Area of Study. Change is a
part of life and whether or not we like that aftermath of the particular aspect of the change it will
happen, you can put it off and put it off but sooner or later it will happen. Change is also

In John's Case his changing perspective of himself was a negative one.
Change. Such an uncomplicated word, yet so hard to define. The word itself possibly prevents it
from being defined because every person sees change as a different thing, so therefore there are
possibly around 6 billion definitions of change in the world. The song "At Seventeen" by song
writer Janis Ian relates to changing perspectives in her life as a seventeen year old girl. At the start
of the song in verse one she describes a girl at seventeen who thinks she is ugly and doesn't fit in
with the popular group. She wants to have everything that the popular girls have. She soon relishes
that she will never have this social status and she starts to dream up boys that call her up and ask her
to dance. The end of verse two and the beginning of the third verse Janis Ian is reflecting back on
those terrible years when she was seventeen. She was once an ugly outcast who had no social
standing and now all the small town folk look at her and she now exceeds their expectations they
have no love left, they are lonely, and now Janis has everything, she has won the game of life and
love. The lyrics of "At Seventeen" by Janis Ian are emotional and reflective as opposed to telling a
story, Janis is intensely outpouring her inner most personal thoughts and feelings. Both Josie and
Janis Ian's perspective of themselves change as they grow older or more mature. In "Looking for

The Tracker Analysis
The different perspectives create interest and draw us into the experiences of others. The two texts,
'The Tracker' composed by Rolf De Heer and 'Bran Nue Dae' composed by Rachel Perkins explores
this notion. Both films are evident to the racial discrimination of Aborigines in Australia. 'The
Tracker' is a 2002 art house film set in 1922. It is clear that there were no Aboriginal rights and
which white settlement had the greatest control. 'Bran Nue Dae' is a 2009 musical/comedy/drama
film set in 1969 about the beginning of Aboriginal rights. The different perspectives are from
Colonial/Indigenous people. The voices were through the role of the characters, the genre, the music
and the cinematography. The Archetypal characters in 'The Tracker' include The Follower, The
Fanatic, The Veteran, The Fugitive and The Tracker. Each character represents a different voice of a
group within society. The voices express the issue of race and racial inequality towards Aboriginals.
The three main archetypal characters involve The Fanatic, The Tracker and The Follower. The
Follower represents a group with a minimum voice. The follower playing the ukulele indicates that
he is new to this sort of work. The Follower learns to have a voice through the events he
experienced throughout his journey. Symbolism involves the burning of the ukulele. This conveys
the perspective of the follower towards what they are doing. The experience leads to him feeling
unhappy and wanting to change. This draws us into his experiences as we feel a strong connection
because most of us have gone through this in life. The Fanatic represents an aggressive and a
controlling group. The Fanatic was so excessive with finding the fugitive that he constantly
mistreated the Tracker. Dialogue includes "Sorry? You want to feel sorry for someone, feel sorry for
the pack–horse. Now there's an innocent victim". This shows that he was using The Tracker to find
the fugitive and which he does not consider his inner emotions. The audience is drawn to the
Fanatic's experiences because his perspective is interesting and is different compared to the others.
We feel a part of the story because we want to stop the Fanatic from doing any more harm. The

Essay On Frankenstein Perspective
Point–of–view and perspective are very influential tools. Seeing different perspectives can change
another person or observer's perspective. Thoughts and experiences influence perspective heavily.
We can see this in our political climate, in psychology, and the way people treat one another based
on their experiences, thoughts, and previous actions. This carries on to Frankenstein is the excerpt;
he has a very heavily varied perspective than those of the villagers', and there is a distinct difference
in thought. Readers learn the thoughts going through Frankenstein's mind, as well as his good deeds,
actions, and curiosity with a will to learn and discover. If the story were to be told from the point of
view of a villager, it would probably be very negative and completely different to Frankenstein's
perspective.
Actions are very important in telling what something or someone is like. Future actions can be
estimated by someone's previous actions; actions usually reflect the character and personality of
someone. Positive actions are almost always associated with a good–hearted, positive person, and
negative actions usually correspond with wretched, wicked, fearful, hateful, and negative people.
These staples of action and character seem to apply to Frankenstein as well. In paragraphs 4–6, he
discovers that the family he usually observes suffers from poverty. What's amazing is that when he
heard and understood this, he refrained from taking their food again. For a monster who

that I needed a new bow tie. I assumed that some store on Boston's posh Newbury St. would have

I noticed soothing classical music playing in the background as the few patrons meandered through
the thoughtfully arranged display room. The sole operator of the store was busy with a customer, so

I always try to imagine a situation from different perspectives. When observing someone's actions, I
try to understand the overall situation until I can say to myself "I see where they're coming from." In
order to do that you need to have some background information on that person. In most cases this
involves making some intuitive assumptions, but you must be careful, as wrong assumptions can
make a situation worse. With some background information and careful assumptions you can try to
put yourself in their shoes as the saying goes, and then judge people by their actions. I'm not saying
this would be a functional design for a court of law, but this is how I deal with small social
problems.
For the most part I believe that this is an effective method for dealing with small conflicts because
usually I can understand a person's motives, and that is a step towards finding a solution. With small
conflicts it's usually a matter of conflicting personalities. These problems tend to be harder to solve
than similar problems generated from conflicting interests, as people with conflicting personalities
will do things just in spite of the other person. Such actions tend to create a perpetual problem.
I like my ability to see the other side of a situation, but only for small, insignificant problems. When
I look at larger social issues, a sense of hopeless pessimism spreads through me.

Astronauts Changing Perspective

  • 1. Astronauts Changing Perspective We rarely focus on our attitude towards things, but what if we did? The novel An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth by Chris Hadfield explores what can happen when we look at situations differently. How can changing our perspective help us succeed when faced with a difficult challenge? In the beginning of An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth, Chris Hadfield says, "we become competent. [...] Astronauts have these qualities [...] because we are taught to view the world and ourselves differently. [...] It's mostly a matter of changing your perspective" (36). It means that by changing our perspective we will thrive because we have the skills and qualities that are necessary to achieve our goals. All we have to do is change our outlook and we ... • 3. Team Development And Leadership : Example Of Unhealthy... Team Development & Leadership | L7438 A01 Example of unhealthy agreement within a team. Unhealthy agreement occurs when everyone adopts the same point of view and follow blindly, as opposed to introducing and considering other options and perspectives (Sims, 1992). According to Sims (1992), Beech–Nut displayed a huge case of unhealthy agreement when they changed their ingredients and lied about what they were selling to consumers. Employees displayed unhealthy agreement by not countering the actions of the company, the unethical behavior of the company was not questioned. Employees justified their behavior by convincing themselves of misgivings of other organizations, the thought that they weren't hurting anyone, and by taking comfort in ignorance (Sims, 1992). The organization may have had better success by properly communicating the issues they were having and welcoming suggestions or alternatives that allowed them to continue to be truthful and sell a healthy product. Explain how this unhealthy agreement relates to the concepts of the Abilene Paradox and Groupthink. The Abilene Paradox, according to Taras (1991), is when members of a group as well aware the problems facing the group based on a decision, and privately admit their disagreement, but publicly agree with the decision despite reservations. This is kind agreement is unhealthy because it causes the group to go through unnecessary strife, instead of just voicing the objections and possibly changing the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Analysis Of The Poem ' The Wife 's Lament ' "What was it like to lose him? Asked Sorrow. There was a long pause before I responded: It was like hearing every goodbye ever said to me–said all at once," quoted by Lang Leav. I used this quote to present a similar description on how the wife feels about her husband. "The Wife's Lament," is one of the most identifiable Anglo–Saxon elegies and one of the earliest and unique illustrations of a poem composed from a woman's point of view in British literature. There is no evidence whether the author is a man or a woman since the author did not present himself or herself. In the poem, it is obvious that she yearns for her husband deeply, but it does not tell you if he returns her feelings. "The Wife's Lament," is a preview into the tenth–century Anglo–Saxon England, a point in time when wine streamed in the rivers, and colossal titans roamed the earth. The poem setting is the wife is in a stone cave surrounded by water with no one to help her if she is in danger. In the beginning of the poem she introduces her elegy as a sad tale of her heartache; that never in her life she has gone through. She tells the reader how her husband's family sent him out to sea and does not know if he will come back to her. The wife then explains how she is anxious for him, she does not sleep, or she wakes up in the morning, and only thinks about her husband. The she made the decision to be banished, which was a norm for women whose husbands had died or left them. She then goes to his people for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Principle of Management Course: My Experiences Principle of Management Course: My Experiences I believe that the Principles of Management course provided me with invaluable information which will help in furthering both my professional as well as personal life. I believe that learning is a process by which an individual undergoes certain changes. Also, during the learning process, many of the beliefs which a person holds are challenged. I underwent various changes during this course. This paper will explain those changes. Furthermore, I will detail the concepts, ideas and situations which had the greatest impact on me. Before taking this course, my definition of the concept of management would have been strictly based on power relationships within an organization, how to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At times, I possess an almost fanatical desire to achieve my goals. This fanatical desire is so strong that it can override friendships, destroy relationships and alienate people. I also began to notice that I had the tendency to act quite insensitive, inconsiderate and not be approachable. Once I had identified this problem, I realized that I needed to diversify myself by adding elements from the other roles, such as mentor and facilitator. I believed that if I complemented my director/producer roles with elements from the mentor or facilitator roles, then this would enable me to foster a collective effort, be sensitive towards the needs of individuals and still be able to achieve my goals. This was the second phase of my learning: I had identified a personal deficiency and needed to work towards complementing my director/producer roles with roles from the Human Relations quadrant. One of the key concepts of management and the key themes of the course was teamwork. We were organized into teams and the team was the unit by which the Professor measured our performance. By working in a team–environment, I was able to learn the value of multiple perspectives and the need to use different roles depending on the situation. In analyzing Synergy, Inc., I learned that we had fused the three perspectives to create a unique identity and structure. For instance, in the strategic design perspective, tasks were organized ... • 9. The Secret Of Empathy, Enlightenment, And Internal Growth... The Secret of Empathy, Enlightenment, and Internal Growth There are two senses of reality: external and internal. External reality is an observable universe, but perspectives differ and thus cause different opinions. To experience internal reality is to confuse one's own reality with a shared reality, resulting in a loss of empathy and disregarding how others are affected. An external mindset displays an understanding of different opinions in a shared world, whereas with internal mindset a person's devotion to a belief becomes their private world. When a person is passionate about their beliefs they tend to disregard other perspectives, or live internally. This is a common practice because, depending upon upbringing, different moral values have been instilled in the person. Typically, people will not partake in activities or actions that defy their morality, so they tend to align with others who share similar values. However, people who are unwilling to think beyond their own beliefs lose their sense of empathy. The more devoted a person is to their morals, the less empathy they might have. When we look outside ourselves to other perspectives, we can better connect to an external rather than simply an internal reality, approaching the world with an enlightened state of mind capable of both empathy and consistent growth. A less narrow–minded person is capable of accessing an external reality. Typically, it seems that the more devout citizens are more closed–minded. They ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Changing Perspectives Changing Perspective Linda Collazo PSY/220 May 29, 2011 Abigail McNeely Changing Perspective People, especially diverse people of contemporary times commonly look at other people, situations, or life events with different perspectives. Sometimes looking at other people, situations, and life events with different perspectives cause people to make snap judgments without factual knowledge. Contributors such as personal beliefs, religion, culture, mood, personality, and relative situations can influence an interpretation of a person or event, cause a snap judgment, or possibly change another perspective. Other contributors that add influence to the common influences of perspectives and judgments are environments and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The woman's personal beliefs can be innate from learning experiences or a genetic inheritance that reflects her personality type. Innate learning experiences or genetic inheritances of accepting people of any race is possible in making a snap judgment to rent the apartment to the multiracial family. The family inquiring about the apartment rental may have an influence regarding the woman's mood too. Something in the situation such as politeness and enjoying the company of the children in the family may have set the motion for the woman's mood. Another spark in the woman's mood can be a reflection of her own children and family situations. Remembering her past, for example, maybe the woman and her husband are immigrants from the Old World and difficulties with living arrangements were part of her early family experiences. Another example of personal experience can be knowledge to a similar situation quite rewarding in one way or another. Religiously the woman in the scenario can similarly view the situation as going against the grain but from a different perspective such as going against the grain of her higher power and accepting all individuals. • 13. Reflection On The Word ' Reflection ' For me the word 'reflection' means taking time to really dig deep into my thoughts, to contemplate something meaningful and significant, to make a decision that often involves me and my future. It has a personal and emotional connection. Daudelin (1996) uses the word 'reflection' to encourage managers to create time to recognise the value of learning from past and current work situations ('experience') and to adapt this learning to new situations. I would prefer to choose the words 'thought' or 'consideration' when applying the idea of reflection to my own work environment. To fix my thoughts on what I have learned or to carefully consider how to approach a problem would, for me, be a better fit. I might, however, choose to reflect on how the past year has been or to reflect on the direction the organisation is taking, but not, as Daudelin suggests, bring the word into every day use. Boud et al. (1985) suggest that we can't learn from experience alone and ask the questions: What transforms experience into learning? What enables learners to profit from the situations they find themselves in? How does experience relate to new situations? Daudelin (1996, 39) offers a definition of reflection that catches its relation to learning: Reflection is the process of stepping back from an experience to ponder, carefully and persistently, its meaning to the self through the development of inferences; learning is the creation of meaning from past or current events that serves as a ... • 15. Prejudice, Prejudice And Prejudice These days, there is a marked prejudice against prejudice, and understandably so. More often than not, "prejudice" refers to an "antipathy based upon a faulty and inflexible generalization."1 Insofar as prejudice refers to thought or action beclouded by hatred, it warrants condemnation, not defense. However, prejudice also has a broader meaning. According to the Oxford Shorter Dictionary, it is: "a preconceived opinion; bias unfavorable or favorable."2 It refers to "life circumstances" and "perspective." Prejudice is any source of judgment whose validity one has not ascertained for oneself. The aspiration to banish prejudice in this broad sense reflects the assumption that rational judgment must be untainted by prejudgments of any kind. This way of thinking about judgment, and the renunciation of fixed ideas it implies, is misguided. Prejudice gives life experiences their subjective meanings. But prejudice can also be both illuminating and consistent with freedom. The concept of detached judgment (itself a kind of prejudice) was shaped during the Enlightenment (1685–1815). As Hans–Georg Gadamer points out, "The history of ideas shows that not until the Enlightenment does the concept of prejudice acquire the negative connotation familiar today."3 The word "prejudice" actually comes from "prejudgment," which means "[having] either a positive or negative value." This meaning, he continues, was limited during the Enlightenment "to the sense of an unfounded judgment" – that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Perspective Of Perspective Perspective is the way that people perceive things in the world around them. Common influences include the way people grow up and how they live their lives. Perspectives are always changing, and different events in life can cause them to be a certain way. The way we build perspective depends on who we are as people and they are very important. They affect the way we process information and make decisions about things in everyday life. Another strong influence to perspective is emotion and memory. To what extent do emotion and memory falsify history? Emotion and memory are not reliable enough in themselves, but they can help us draw conclusions and form our perspectives. Emotion and memory can taint history with personal opinions and feelings, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Often, we absorb most the select information that we have access to without realizing it. As a result, people may remember events different than they happened without realizing it. It is even common that the memory itself changes the more it surfaces in our minds. When we remember situations, we are not remembering the event. We are actually remembering the last time we remembered it, so we will not end up remembering it the same way. At the same time, our mind changes a memory every time we think. This could lead to the publishing biased information. Historians must have to come to a common decision or agreement when documenting history. They must talk through what they want to document and then decide what to write down. There are strengths of historians having different perspectives. For example, they explore the many different sides of something together. There is more information to sort through, even enough to fill in gaps that others failed to bridge over. Different sides to a story can help people to understand. There are also weaknesses to historians having different perspectives. Disagreements can cause confusion and conflict. It makes it harder to know what the truth is, if everyone seems to have different truths. Information could be somewhat inaccurate or biased as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1853, Alphonse Karr wrote this in his book, "Lettres écrites de mon jardin" ("Letters written from my garden"), extending on the idea of perspectives through nature. Being the fourteenth child of Foua Yang and Nao Kao Lee, Lia Lee was their favorite daughter. They spoiled her and treated her like a princess; believed that her epilepsy marked her as special; and that she might someday become a shaman, which is a person regards as having access to. Perspectives From the perspective of the social worker Jeanine Hilt, systems perspective could be used to assess Lia Lee, her family or those in the community of the book. System perspective sees human behavior as the outcome of reciprocal interactions of persons operating within linked social systems (Hutchison, 2013). When reading this book at the beginning, one may have thought of it as a story about the collision of two cultures – a story about Lia Lee, Foua Yang and Nao Kao Lee, Neil Ernst and Peggy Philp, and Jeanine Hilt–rather than Lia Lee's story. The lives of Lia Lee, Foua Yang and Nao Kao Lee, Neil Ernst and Peggy Philp, and Jeanine Hilt were interrelated. In addition, the influences of one and another's behavior had impacted the overall well–being of Lia Lee. The mutual roles of caregiver parents and caregiver doctors had to keep adjusting their roles to accommodate changing care needs. For example, the Lees believed in a little medicine and a little neeb for treating Lia's epilepsy, under the circumstance, their beliefs impact Lia's illness when they brought Lia to MCMC for treatment, while, practiced traditional healing to call back her soul. • 23. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's The Danger Of A Single Story "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you" (Maya Angelou). In a world where often the majority's voice is heard, it is easy to see only one perspective. However, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a female Nigerian writer, persuades her audience to seek knowledge from multiple perspectives of a story. Prompted by the increasing tensions between global populations, Adichie in "The Danger of a Single Story," speaks through personal anecdotes enabling her reader to understand the importance of analyzing and understanding multiple perspectives in stories. Throughout the first anecdote, Adichie explains the danger associated with seeing a single perspective of a story. First, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie portrays the literature of her youth: "All my characters were white and blue–eyed, they played in the snow, they ate apples, and they talked a lot about the weather, how lovely it was that the sun had come out" (10–12). Through the use of "white" and "blue–eyed" Adichie creates a sense of desire. By placing both words beside each other, and emphasizing the physical descriptions of the characters, Adichie strengthens the racial hierarchy present in western literature. This strategy causes Adichie to question her own racial identity, making her feel less valued than her western counterparts. In addition, the quote illustrates an impressionable tone in which she openly accepts the non–applicable western values. Similar to a child, Adichie embraces a single perspective ... • 25. Analysis Of ' The Lottery ' Since reading The Lottery by Shirely Jackson, I've been thinking more about culture, traditions, and perspective. Not just that, but how it can sometimes take adopting an unbiased, non judgmental, or outside perspective in order to see things for what they really are. The way that the narrator in this story adopts such a position allows for a clearer view of the events of the story. In The Lottery, the narrator speaks to us in a non participant and objective manner. We hear and see events unfold from an outside, "fly on the wall", perspective. No critique or judgement on the events is provided by the narrator; we only can ascertain judgements and feelings from what the characters do and say. By allowing us this viewpoint, we can make ... ' First thing you know, we 'd all be eating stewed chickweed and acorns. There 's always been a lottery," he added petulantly. "Bad enough to see young Joe Summers up there joking with everybody." "Some places have already quit lotteries." Mrs. Adams said. "Nothing but trouble in that," Old Man Warner said stoutly. "Pack of young fools."(257). Tradition and ritual customs hold a really powerful sway. In the story, we read about how things have subtlety shifted overtime in the ritual, or the artifacts used during it, yet it continues on. It 's an accepted norm that no one wants to upend. This made me think about how our cultures customs have shifted with time, but how many aspects remain unchanged. It could be for nearly anything, such as how holidays are celebrated, or rituals like weddings, or how challenges to old norms are often viewed with intrepidation or skepticism. If the author would have adopted a participant point of view in this story, we probably would have gained more insight into the rationales for holding an annual lottery to stone someone. • 27. Why School By Mike Rose Analysis Many are quick to disregard education's role outside of the classroom. According to Mike Rose, "a good education helps us make sense of the world and find our way in it" (Rose 33). Rose emphasizes the value in the experience of education beyond the value of education for the purpose of custom or intelligence; he explores the purpose of going to school in terms of how he defines himself and his personal growth in the stages of his academic career. By reflecting on his personal experiences and how those gave him the tools applicable to his daily life, he emphasizes why education should never be overlooked. Rose's referencing relatable experiences in a logical manner makes his argument persuasive to the readers and he succeeds in making the readers reconsider why education matters to them. In his book Why School?: Reclaiming Education for All of Us, Mike Rose effectively persuades his audience of the importance of education beyond the classroom, emphasizing how those experiences become crucial to one's personal growth and potential in our everyday lives. Rose elaborates on the significance of the experience of education by reflecting on his own perspective and how that shaped his identity. His childhood gave him the opportunity to experience the contrast between a positive learning environment and a negative one; this also shaped him to have an evident positive outlook on education. Rose suggests that the right learning environment–including supportive teachers and proper ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rhetorical Analysis Of Games By Steve Johnson "If you put yourself in an environment with lots of different perspectives, you yourself are going to have better, sharper, more original ideas," stated Steve Johnson in an interview with Salon Media Group. In a surrounding with many different networks of people, ideas will be enhanced with the knowledge of other perspectives. Also, the new ideas will encourage debate and conversation. Not only will other people's views enhance ideas, but also is crucial for writing on a topic. Acknowledging opposing perspectives will give a writer more authority on the subject being discussed. Also, it gives the audience an opportunity to respect an author. In Steve Johnson's essay, "Games," he builds authority through the credibility of his background, researching ... Johnson has written similar books to these topics and has done research for them, therefore, he must have previous knowledge to some extent before writing "Games." In the first paragraph Johnson is already showing he has done his research and writes about "Dr. Spock" and what he must say about video games (196). Afterwards, Johnson introduces another source he has studied, this time about reading, written by Andrew Solomon (197). Both studies Johnson introduces shows he has researched both video games and reading. Later in his piece, Johnson writes, "When I read these ostensibly positive accounts of video games..." (200). Johnson is showing the audience he is analyzing video games for himself by reading about them and the actual content of the games. Concluding his piece, he states that video games can be hard (Johnson 201). This statement implies Johnson has played video games himself, otherwise he would be contradicting himself of what he says in the context. He talks about the gap between people who have or have not played them. People who have not played them cannot talk about them "coherently" (201). They each travel back to the antebellum South for different amounts of time, gaining different insights from the same events. Kevin, a white man, travels back to a time of privilege, while his wife Dana, a black woman, travels back to a time of hardship and enslavement. Their contrasting perspectives cause them to see the world differently. For example, Kevin draws from his sole point of view, while Dana uses her own perspective with other people's perspectives. No matter when or where they are, Dana and Kevin determine the truth through what see and what they already know. Kevin and Dana first conflict when Dana returns to 1976 for the first time. Kevin is in disbelief about where Dana went, as he suggests what she experienced was "a dream" (17). He says this despite the fact that he saw Dana disappear and reappear, something out of the ordinary. His perspective is different from Dana's, meaning what he sees isn't always what actually happens. Dana goes back in time, while Kevin saw Dana "vanish and reappear" (16). Despite not knowing what Dana experienced, he still believes his point of view is a fact. Kevin insists Dana's experience was a "dream," and refers to his perspective as "facts" (16). By doing so, he asserts his perspective, the white male perspective, is objective and truthful, while Dana's is illegitimate. Kevin's view is similar to how the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From the teetering world of a toddler to the unfair, my–parents–hate–me reality of a teenager our perspectives change. My perspective on homeless people began at age 10 but shifted radically at the age of 13. When I was 10 years old my mom wanted to teach us about giving. All throughout my childhood we would make meals for people experiencing illness or death in their family. We finally were old enough to hand out supplies to the homeless and we loaded up our cooler with water bottles and granola bars. We made a desert and decorated the table while the shelter provided the Christmas dinner. As I sat there, I was just counting hours, eating my food, and dreaming about which toy I was going to use first. As boredom overtook me, I began to listen to the conversations at the table. Dolly was a woman who had been homeless for 6 months. Her husband had died and he was the main source of income, so without his money she had lost her home. She had just started the Bridge to Life program that helped homeless people get their life back on track. Through 10 months of different steps, the shelter helped get them a job and pay off debts while housing and feeding them. As I heard this, I began to realize that some homeless people were not just druggies. They were people that had stories. They had fallen on hard times and couldn't get back on their feet. I could feel myself soften and become more interested in what was happening with them. I began to ask questions and Dolly told it like it was, without sugarcoating the cold hard truth. I felt guilty for previously complaining about not being able to play with my new toys and these people didn't even have a home much less security like I did. I had such a perspective shift the next year I asked to serve on Thanksgiving. We volunteered to be servers and take the shelter occupants' order. We then got the food and served it to them like a five–star restaurant. As I served more people, I began to see the gratitude and thankfulness in these people's heart. New Swipe Card System At London Heathrow Airport As described by Palmer, Dunlap & Akin, at the start of the peak holiday season, British Airways (BA) employees at London Heathrow airport participated in a 24 hour wildcat strike due to the implementation of a timeswipe card system that would monitor the employees ' clocked– in–and– out hours. To the executives, this change represented an improvement in technology that would increase organizational efficiency. To the staff, however, this change represented something entirely different; distrust and disrespect.BA executives had a history of ensuring that the organization was taken care of at the expense of its employees. Jobs were cut, agreements were broken, and this new swipe card system was just another example of the executives finding a way to monitor and control the staff to the organization 's economic gain. The staff feared that management would monitor their hours and send them home during off hours and then call them back to duty at peak hours. In addition, the way in which the change was communicated to the staff was what propelled the staff to revolt. The executives sprung the change initiative on the staff with little warning and provided inconsistent reasons for the necessity of the change. This made it nearly impossible for the staff to accept or adjust to the change in a positive way. Compare And Contrast Jack And Ralph In Lord Of The Flies In the classic novel, The Lord of the Flies by William Golding, it explores the themes of the different perspectives and ideologies humans use to civilize themselves. In the novel, the main protagonist Ralph best represents the logical point of view, attempting to conserve the utopian island, while the antagonist Jack best illustrates the savage point of view, which results in the creation of a dystopia based on his lust for enjoyment. In Lord of The Flies, even though both Ralph and Jack represent different ideologies, they do possess some similarities between them. While both characters have different leading styles, it can be argued that they are effective leaders. They are both adverse in inspiring those their followers, the boys in the island, with Ralph using hope for returning to motivate the rest of the boys stranded in the island, while Jack uses fear against the beast as a catalyst for his seizing of power. In my opinion, this similarity is the reason why these two different pathways were capable of remaining popular among the boys or what they symbolize, society. The reason for this is because as social creatures, humans need to have a high morale to be able to achieve progress, which is something that requires capable leaders. Jack used a particularly cruel method by making the beast as a sort of religion for the boys by using it as a figurehead for his power. He treated the beast like a deity when he stated that the, "head is for the beast. It's a gift" (Golding, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Changing Perspective From Global Warming Offor 1 Chiamaka Offor Dr. Christopher Carney ENGL 1301 20 June 2016 Changing Perspective from Global Warming to Climate Change Global warming is one of the biggest problems facing the world today. Global warming is the rise in the earth's mean surface temperature due to increase of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, which affects life forms on the earth's surface. The scientific consensus as summarized by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is that the global average surface temperature has risen over the last century. Many scientists believe that global warming is caused mainly by the production of carbon dioxide (greenhouse gas) and any fabricated pollution without taking into account the natural factors. The earth is kept warm due to what is known as the greenhouse effect. Without it the earth would be frozen; the short wave length of ultraviolet radiation coming from the sun penetrates the atmosphere and is absorbed by the earth, which thereby warms the earth. These gases are known as greenhouse gases. The effects of global warming include increased temperature, rise in sea levels, increase in insects that spread disease and tropical storms. A greenhouse gas does not cause these effects. The Great Global Warming Swindle documentary shows a group of scientists through scientific research that carbon dioxide is not responsible for global warming. They believe the real cause of global warming is the sun. Global warming is caused by the sun ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Amelia was guided to the table where another child was already present by the educator that she had an attachment with. Amelia and the other child were babbling back and forth to one another. When both children wanted to play with the same instrument, the educator let the children try to resolve it themselves or intervened when needed. In this activity, Amelia was able to develop her social skills by joining in play and cooperating with another child through her relationship with the trusted educator. Reflection of assessment practice Moles (2012, p. 1) discusses that reflection on assessment of practice is essential for educators to seek a different perspective of their teaching practices from others through feedback, consider strengths and challenges in their teaching and build on their knowledge as educators (Miller 2011, p. 5; Moles 2012, p. 1). In the VEYLDF (2016, p. 8), it discusses that educators can support children's development by gathering information such as their interests and consider them when planning learning experiences. What worked well in the implementation of the program for Amelia was the information gained from her father which was used in the planning process. • 60. Taking On Multiple Perspectives For An American Adult The idea of taking on multiple perspectives can be applied to many scenarios, from making decisions as the president of a nation to running a day care. One of the most accessible perspectives for an American adult is the small business. By engaging in the perspective of other people at a business you either work at or are a customer at, you gain a certain understanding that makes you more relaxed and more pleasant. For example we can take an almost universal experience in the developed world, ordering food at a fast food restaurant. Let's say there is a line of customers during the lunch rush at your average fast food restaurant. The line is taking extraordinarily long because there is only one person running the register and one person ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Next in line is person B. He realizes that there are only two employees and that they are working very hard to serve as many people as they are, perhaps they have been in that situation. Person B has a greater understanding of the perspective of those around him and in turn is much calmer than person A. This example of taking on multiple perspectives shares in Zhuangzi's philosophy but is different from his examples. The closest example would be the story of the butcher. "A good butcher changes his chopper every year because he chips it. And average butcher changes it every month because he breaks it" (Zhuangzi, ch.3). This is demonstrating two people, doing essentially the same thing, but the way they do it makes their life more or less difficult. As the butchers gain a greater understanding of the oxen they become more proficient. "When I first began cutting up oxen, I did not see anything but oxen. Three years later, I couldn't see the whole ox. And now, I encounter them with spirit and don't look with my eye ... That's why after nineteen years the blade of my chopper is still as though fresh from the grindstone."(Zhuangzi, Ch.3) In the restaurant example person B is a better customer than person A. Everything from our family to society heavily influence our perspectives, whether we realize it or not. Experiences directly make up our perspectives. Family members heavily influence our perspectives. From the time we are born our parents begin teaching us beliefs and values that are "right" in their eyes. Amy Tan, the author of "Two Kinds" talks about how it was living with a strict, traditional mother. In chunk 6, paragraph 67 Amy's mother states "'Only two kinds of daughters.' She shouted in Chinese. 'Those who are obedient and those who follow their own minds! Only one kind of daughter can live in this house. Obedient daughter!'" Her mother drilled this idea into her mind, which definitely affected her to a large extent. Her mother's expectations were too much, and she could never fulfill them. In her mother's eyes she was a disappointment, and this experience changed her perspective on what's important in a person. Another example of family influencing our perspectives is shown in "An Indian Father's Plea" by Medicine Grizzly Bear. In the personal letter from a father to his son's teacher he expresses his concerns for his sons education. Pg(99) "'My son Wind Wolf, is not an empty glass coming into your class to be filled. Essentially, I will express why Tabouret– Keller 's work differs in an approach to manage tongue and character. Lingo and identity is generally perceived as who and what we appear to be, and where we start from. Thornborrow states that one of the focal ways we have of setting up our identity, is through our use of vernacular (1999). So also, Edwards (2009) states that the tongue we use shapes a basic bit of our sentiment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As showed by Edwards (2009), everyone is used to supplement, language and vernacular assortments that reveal speakers ' enlistments particularly talk gatherings, social classes, ethnic and national get–togethers. Weber and Horner (2012) says that in any given place and time, a couple of lingos will be viewed as being more useful resources than others, in a way that by and large depends upon the particular setting we are in. Besides, Thornborrow (1999) states that identity is multifaceted, people switch into different parts at different conditions in different conditions. Moreover she says that a couple of arrangements of lingo are more regarded than others, and what considers the famous shape can change the particular condition and kind of phonetic development. Along these lines, people for the most part substitute their technique for discourse dependent on where they get themselves geographically. Weber and Horner (2012) states that "we" generally order different people by stamping them, trying to settle some individual 's character, lessening it to a lone focus part that totals up his or her identity "in our eyes." Likewise, Thornborrow (1999) says that social groupings, or characteristics of character, are frequently constrained on a couple of get–togethers by others. She communicates that a person 's social identity is not something that you can essentially choose alone, it is also "bound up with how others" see you". Edwards (2009) says that ... The cart is symbolic of Toad's ambitious nature, which is manifested through his jubilant tone and positive attitude in response to change and adventure. The cumulative listing of the intangible rewards associated with journey, emphasizes how adventure can lead to 'richer experiences'. Additionally the metaphoric phrase of the changing horizon represents Toad's intention of adventure and acceptance of and fearfulness of change. At the start of the song in verse one she describes a girl at seventeen who thinks she is ugly and doesn't fit in with the popular group. She wants to have everything that the popular girls have. She soon relishes that she will never have this social status and she starts to dream up boys that call her up and ask her to dance. The end of verse two and the beginning of the third verse Janis Ian is reflecting back on those terrible years when she was seventeen. She was once an ugly outcast who had no social standing and now all the small town folk look at her and she now exceeds their expectations they have no love left, they are lonely, and now Janis has everything, she has won the game of life and love. • 74. The Tracker Analysis The different perspectives create interest and draw us into the experiences of others. The two texts, 'The Tracker' composed by Rolf De Heer and 'Bran Nue Dae' composed by Rachel Perkins explores this notion. Both films are evident to the racial discrimination of Aborigines in Australia. 'The Tracker' is a 2002 art house film set in 1922. It is clear that there were no Aboriginal rights and which white settlement had the greatest control. 'Bran Nue Dae' is a 2009 musical/comedy/drama film set in 1969 about the beginning of Aboriginal rights. The different perspectives are from Colonial/Indigenous people. The voices were through the role of the characters, the genre, the music and the cinematography. The Archetypal characters in 'The Tracker' include The Follower, The Fanatic, The Veteran, The Fugitive and The Tracker. Each character represents a different voice of a group within society. The voices express the issue of race and racial inequality towards Aboriginals. The three main archetypal characters involve The Fanatic, The Tracker and The Follower. The Follower represents a group with a minimum voice. The follower playing the ukulele indicates that he is new to this sort of work. The Follower learns to have a voice through the events he experienced throughout his journey. Symbolism involves the burning of the ukulele. This conveys the perspective of the follower towards what they are doing. The experience leads to him feeling unhappy and wanting to change. This draws us into his experiences as we feel a strong connection because most of us have gone through this in life. The Fanatic represents an aggressive and a controlling group. The Fanatic was so excessive with finding the fugitive that he constantly mistreated the Tracker. Dialogue includes "Sorry? You want to feel sorry for someone, feel sorry for the pack–horse. Now there's an innocent victim". This shows that he was using The Tracker to find the fugitive and which he does not consider his inner emotions. The audience is drawn to the Fanatic's experiences because his perspective is interesting and is different compared to the others. We feel a part of the story because we want to stop the Fanatic from doing any more harm. The Tracker ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 76. Essay On Frankenstein Perspective Point–of–view and perspective are very influential tools. Seeing different perspectives can change another person or observer's perspective. Thoughts and experiences influence perspective heavily. We can see this in our political climate, in psychology, and the way people treat one another based on their experiences, thoughts, and previous actions. This carries on to Frankenstein is the excerpt; he has a very heavily varied perspective than those of the villagers', and there is a distinct difference in thought. Readers learn the thoughts going through Frankenstein's mind, as well as his good deeds, actions, and curiosity with a will to learn and discover. If the story were to be told from the point of view of a villager, it would probably be very negative and completely different to Frankenstein's perspective. Actions are very important in telling what something or someone is like. Future actions can be estimated by someone's previous actions; actions usually reflect the character and personality of someone. Positive actions are almost always associated with a good–hearted, positive person, and negative actions usually correspond with wretched, wicked, fearful, hateful, and negative people. These staples of action and character seem to apply to Frankenstein as well. In paragraphs 4–6, he discovers that the family he usually observes suffers from poverty. What's amazing is that when he heard and understood this, he refrained from taking their food again. For a monster who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 78. Essay on The Power of Perspective The Power of Perspective All I needed was a bow tie. Everything else was packed, and I was ready for the weekend, except that I needed a new bow tie. I assumed that some store on Boston's posh Newbury St. would have one, and sure enough I found a store that sold tuxedos and wedding dresses. Upon entering the store, I noticed soothing classical music playing in the background as the few patrons meandered through the thoughtfully arranged display room. The sole operator of the store was busy with a customer, so I waited for some assistance. Being a scruffy college student, I apparently didn't invoke any sense of urgency in the store clerk. When observing someone's actions, I try to understand the overall situation until I can say to myself "I see where they're coming from." In order to do that you need to have some background information on that person. In most cases this involves making some intuitive assumptions, but you must be careful, as wrong assumptions can make a situation worse. With some background information and careful assumptions you can try to put yourself in their shoes as the saying goes, and then judge people by their actions. I'm not saying this would be a functional design for a court of law, but this is how I deal with small social problems. For the most part I believe that this is an effective method for dealing with small conflicts because usually I can understand a person's motives, and that is a step towards finding a solution. With small conflicts it's usually a matter of conflicting personalities. These problems tend to be harder to solve than similar problems generated from conflicting interests, as people with conflicting personalities will do things just in spite of the other person. Such actions tend to create a perpetual problem. I like my ability to see the other side of a situation, but only for small, insignificant problems. When I look at larger social issues, a sense of hopeless pessimism spreads through me. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
