1. How did you use new media technologies
in the construction and research, planning
and evaluation stages?
2. Starting Point
When beginning our planning process for our trailer, we used a variety of
new media to shape, construct and research typical conventions of
teen dramas. Using YouTube videos we watched a variety of teaser
trailers to study mise en scene and how particular music was used.
Furthermore, using Mahara blogs we tracked our process and
recorded starting ideas to help create an idea for our storyline. Using
‘Pearl and Dean’ helped with research regarding target audience
and genre styles.
3. Creating The Trailer
When actually creating the trailer, we used a variety of new media
to produce and edit our clips. Software like Adobe Photoshop,
Illustrator and Final Cut Pro. Creating the poster and magazine cover
included Photoshop, a software used for photo editing, particularly
helpful when moving and editing images. Final Cut Pro was used
when editing our trailer videos, which we filmed on a Canon 80D
camera. Final Cut pro was a relatively easy software to use, and
allowed us to produce a successful trailer. However, our group didn’t
have much experience using these software's, only knowledge from
the previous year during AS. This meant we watched a wide variety
of YouTube tutorials to educate us on how to use these software’s
correctly.

5. Evaluation
Overall, creating our trailer included a variety of new media
techniques. When constructing researching and planning our teaser
trailers software like Photoshop, Illustrator and Websites were used to
create a well produced finished product. We also used real media
technologies, including a microphone and canon 80D. All of these
features helped shape our research and creativity. As well as a
capturing storyline, we also wanted to ensure we kept the trailer
aesthetically pleasing.
