Hypodermic Needle Model
It will affect you over time by being given information over time and will
mentally and physically change us. It acts like a drug and we believe these things
and brainwashes an audience depending on how it changes somebody depends
the messages in the text.
In the film there is violence between the group and the crawler which makes us
interested as action is happening and holly breaks her leg throughout the film
which if you don’t like gruesome films then look away however the more we
watch these scenes it doesn’t bother us its and we don’t react to it and we don’t
get scared or upset because we’re used to seeing it.
Two-Step Model
We accept opinions from others and don’t question them and are passive about
what people have said. We listen to critics because we don’t want to see
something such as a film they will tell us if it is good or not and we will believe
them.
Neil Marshall gives us his opinion on Women and we don’t question this we just
see the girls how they are in the film. We don’t see women like this in real life as
we think they scream and depend on man to defend them but we dont question
it we just watch the film as it is and it doesn’t bother us.
Uses and gratifications model
We will ask why this opinion has been given and ask why? They want to question
the opinion and identify pieces of information out of texts as well as make
choices from the opinion given to us.
We question a lot of things in the film such as the girls and that there aren’t usual
stereotypical girls that are into shopping and are scared of most things. In this
film we would question why aren’t they scared of the crawlers or rockclimbing
and fight back to survive why isn’t there a full cast of men.
