2016-17
Art I-III Class Expectations
Mrs. Alesha Lewis
2. My Philosophy of Education
The product speaks for itself!
Low Expectations = Low Results
High Expectations = High Results
Quality products yield quality outputs.
Everyone has a destiny.
Responsibility without accountability is futile.
6. Grading Scale
A rubric will be given for each assignment.
You will be given the opportunity to complete your
own personal evaluation prior to consulting with
the teacher for final evaluation.
Assignments are graded based upon a 10 point
value scale for each area of evaluation up to 100
total points.
Points are totaled for each assignment with
grades corresponding to the district’s grading
scale.
90 – 100 = A 70 – 79 = C
80 – 89 = B 60 – 69 = D
8. Make-Up Assignments
Make-up assignments will be given for school
absences.
A school absence is classified as a day
where you:
Did not report to school
Receive an early dismissal

12. I Am…
I am here to support you
I wonder if my efforts to help you succeed resonate with you
I hear your silent cries from understanding, help, and direction
I see the potential in you
I want to do my best to help you achieve your best
I am an educator
I pretend to be undisturbed by the state of our communities
I feel sad when others do not realize their potential
I touch the lives of many with my encouraging words, humble spirit, and eagerness to serve
I worry if I am doing enough to meet each of your needs
I cry when I consider the challenges that some of you face
I am an educator
I understand that you are unique and important
I say only you can keep you from reaching your goals
I dream of a world where each person embraces his or her gifts and talents
