1. The life of a Leo
I am slowly going mental! I miss Sophie! I went to the clore centre
before the rest of the gang, got a beanbag from the rest zone and
take it to one of the big windows and just sat there looking at the
clouds. The rest of the gang were inside the palace and they didn’t
know where I was. Ian knew that whenever I need time to think, I go
to empty room and just daydream. Ian’s idea was to let me talk to
roger and let out what is wrong with me. Ian found me still by the
window. Ian gave me roger and said that I can look after him and
talk to him. It was just me and roger in the clore centre. I had a
really good talk with him but I was getting sleepy so I fell asleep
(still holding roger). I had a dream that roger was a real person.
Just as soon as my eyes were closed, James walked past outside the
centre and saw me asleep. He saw me holding roger and he had an
idea. He would quickly get changed into a Tudor outfit, remove roger
from my hands and say that I have turned roger into a real person. I
was tired so I wouldn’t be as clever as I am. I felt something was
missing. I looked, roger was gone! I looked confused but then I saw
James in a Tudor outfit standing in front of me looking confused.
He said “thank you princess”. I looked confused but I was blushing
as well. I said “why, what did I do?”. “You have turned me into a real
person” James said. Now I am really confused because I thought
James was a real person. James explained that he is roger and that
he was turned into a rat in 1540. He has been waiting for a princess
to kiss him and turn him back into a person. Even though I was tired,
I still knew that it was James. I said “I am no princess, I am more

2. than a duchess then a princess”. “Master Ian has told me that you
kissed me many times when I was a rat” said James. “Yes, but I knew
I wasn’t a princess because I kissed you once when you was a rat and
nothing happened” I said. James said “all it took was a wish and a
hug, I know master Ian said a kiss will turn me into a person but
many girls have kissed me when I was a rat and nothing happened”. I
was starting to wake up so I testing “roger” by asking him if he can
still do his tricks. James asked “what is your favourite trick?”. I said
“when you do your kung fu! That is so funny”. I put my hand out,
waiting for him to tap my hand. James said “I haven’t got Master Ian
with me so I don’t know what to do”. I had a cheeky smile on my
face. I said to James “why don’t you sit down on that bench and get
used to your new legs”. James sat down and once he got comfortable,
I said “1, 2, 3, sleep”. I clicked my fingers and James pretended to
fall asleep. I started laughing, I thought that was really funny. I said
“3, 2, 1 wake” I clicked my fingers and James woke up. All of a
sudden, I saw the time, it was time for everyone in the gang to meet
up for the day. Ian walked in first and said “I see the magic as
worked”. I said “that means I am a princess even I don’t think I am
myself”. Ian decided to end the prank, he asked me “do you want
roger to stay as a human or did you like him better as a rat?”. I was
thinking for a while, should roger stay human or should he turn back
into a rat? I knew at the back of my mind it was James. I was
playing along now because I was fully awake. I said “I know I am not
really a princess so sorry roger but I think we need the cute rat
back”. Ian said “close your eyes and don’t open them until I say so”.
My eyes were closed for a while but I can hear lots of talking and
giggling. I was told to open my eyes but it wasn’t by Ian. When I
opened my eyes, everyone else was in and James was in normal
clothes and roger was a rat sitting on Ian’s hand. Paulo was winding
me up by asking me if I was acting. I said “NO, I wasn’t acting, I was

3. still sleepy”. As soon as everyone had signed in, I decided to get the
dressing boxes out early because everyone was happy. I took both
Tudor and Georgian boxes out so it was fair. I put on my favourite
Tudor dress on, Laura got changed into her Tudor dress and James
got dressed into a bright blue Tudor outfit which looked cute on him.
Ian didn’t dress up but Paulo was more than happy to dress up as
Charles 2nd
and Francis wasn’t sure whether to dress up or not. As
soon as Paulo came out of the men’s restrooms dressed as Charles
2nd
, I had a cheeky smile. I decided to see if Paulo can be like
Charles 2nd
. I played the Charles 2nd
rap and let him have the floor.
Everyone knew what I was doing and waited to see what will happen.
Paulo didn’t know what to do. He can either refuse to look silly by
not doing the song or he would try and look cool like Charles 2nd
and
don’t care if anyone is laughing at him. Paulo didn’t want to look silly,
he can do the song but Sophie wasn’t in so he didn’t have enough
encouragement to do the whole song. Since Sophie wasn’t in, I gave
Francis a special dress. It was a Hampton court beauty dress that
Sophie sometime wears. I was to make Francis a Hampton court
beauty until Sophie comes back. Paulo said “you are making Francis
Barbra villas?”. I said “it doesn’t have to be Barbra villas, Charles 2nd
had more than 10 mistress”. Laura said “it is good that you said
Barbra villas because we have a special guest in today”. I knew where
this was going so I asked “do I need to close my eyes?”. Laura said
“you don’t have to but this guest is so pretty that she could blind
you”. My good hearing heard giggling when Laura said that from the
ladies restrooms. James said “are you ready to meet Barbra villas?”
I was ready, I knew what to do. Barbra villas was important because
she was made keeper of Hampton court palace by Charles 2nd
. Paulo
went by the restrooms and just stood there in his costume. I was
excited! Paulo came back and said that she is ready. I closed my eyes
but when I opened them again, I was really shocked. Barbra villas

4. was Sophie! She was really pretty. Sophie was a bit silly because she
was doing a really posh voice (well, trying to). Sophie said “how are
you, my lady?”. She was pretending to be a posh lady. I just couldn’t
speak. I was speechless because she was so pretty and she looked
just like Barbra villas. Sophie then turned cheeky and said “I see you
have met the wonderful Charles 2nd
”. I looked at Paulo, he was
smiling. Sophie then asked me “what do you think of him and you can
be as honest as you like, I am sure he won’t mind”. I looked at Paulo
who was still dressed up. I didn’t know what to say because I didn’t
want to upset the “king” by saying I really thought. In my mind, he
looked a bit silly but I didn’t want to say that to him so I said that
he looked brilliant. Francis said “really?”, I said “yeah!”.One more
surprise was to come. The gang was lucky, we were going to have the
palace to ourselves after it shuts at 4:30pm. I couldn’t wait. It was
nearly 4:30pm, we all decided to stay in our costumes so we can all
try and scare each other inside the palace. Ian had an idea, he would
take us to the two scary places inside the palace (the fire door and
the haunted gallery) and see if anything spooky happens. I wasn’t
sure because mum keeps telling me that I wouldn’t last 5 mins doing
a ghost tour but Sophie said that she will be with me so I will be all
right. We all went together to the fire door to see if it will open. I
looked around, Paulo was not with us. I asked “where’s Paulo?”.
Everyone had a cheeky smile on their faces. James said “he has gone
to the restrooms. If we stay here, he will find us”. Just then, the
fire door started shaking, Ian turned off his torch. I went close
between Sophie and James. There were very loud footsteps and
then all of a sudden, skeltor bursts through the door! I screamed at
the top of my voice! Everyone was laughing, they knew that was going
to happen. Paulo took the hood off his long cloak and revealed
himself. I was on the edge of crying because I was scared. Sophie
knew this and tried to make me laugh by saying “you are almost as

5. white as me”. I got hugs from everyone because they felt sorry for
me. Ian turned on his torch and said “ok, that was mean, let’s go to
base court because there are some lights there”.
