Jiho Narrative
"Urgh." I open my eyes slowly. My heads spinning and I'm in pain everywhere. It doesn't take more than half a second to know for a fact that I'm
not in my house anymore. Instead, I'm in a huge room, which after looking around, I figured out is a classroom. It's bright due to the fact that one
of the windows nearby is wide open. The room is basically empty except for two wall sized chalkboards that were littered with words. One seemed
full of names of rival gangs. Block B being one of them. The other one was full of other names. I spotted my own name among them. It had me
concerned, but no more concerned then the guy named Jiho, whose name was crossed out, probably with a sharp nail or knife. Guess that guy must be

However, my hand falls on something interesting. I pick it up. It's a roll of kimbap. I look to my side. Where the kimbap had just been sat a
walkie talkie. It looked extremely expensive and I looked around the room once again. Was this a trap? Since this is a classroom. I have to be at a
school. I need to get out of here. I swear I was home a few minutes ago. An annoying panicky feeling starts to crawl up my spine, spitting needles of
pain into all my injuries. Fuck. How troublesome. I fiddle with the walkie talkie. Maybe I can find a way to get in contact with someone who can
help me. After a good minute of messing with the most difficult high class walkie talkie I've ever seen, I manage to get it on. I was shocked to hear
voices automatically. And even more shocked (not really actually) to hear voices I know. "I told you, I didn't see anything in sector B." Junior
informs the rest. God damn it. Why didn't I realize these demon children were the ones who kidnapped me? I open my mouth to curse the shit out of
them, but stop when a voice comes through. A voice that wasn't too familiar. Surprisingly, I already knew who it belonged to. "Hyung, you have to be
blind. Those thugs were crowding up the court yard. Bam saw them

Textual Analysis Of Die Hard
Over the past seven weeks, my perception of movies has been forever changed. I used to strictly watch the storyline of movies, but now, I constantly
catch myself seeking to identify the elements of Cinema. The meaningful aesthetics of Die Hard are created by presenting the audience with the aspects
of narration, mise–en–scene, cinematography, editing, and sound. Although this factor may not stand out, narration depicts a lot of meaning in the film,
Die Hard. Firstly, there is a motif of characters humming throughout the film. We see the group of German antagonists towards the beginning of the
film humming while working throughout their plan. Later, Officer Powell hums while going through the store to pick up twinkies for his pregnant wife.

For example, the film starts off with a black screen and a loud, high–pitch screeching sound of an airplane's jets. Without any dialogue or visual
information, the sound present in this scene is used to creatively establish the setting of an airplane landing. In comparison, when Hans and Theo are
in the access control room while their download for robbery is complete, there is a sound effect synchronized to the bright light and wind behind Hans'
head. This specific sound effect generates the meaning of success for the antagonists. Following sound, music has a large impact on the film. For
instance, sorrowful music is played when Officer Powell explains to John over the walkie–talkie that he shot a thirteen–year old. This music is
meaningful in allowing the audience to mourn with Officer Powell over his mistake. Towards the end of the film, Officer Powell shoots an antagonist
and a more enlightening tune is played. The music in this scene symbolizes the meaning of Officer Powell overcoming his fear. The film, Die Hard,
uses sound to design meaning to the setting, conflict at hand, and feelings of certain

Creative Writing: The Cold War
"Well, here we are." he said at last. He had a face of fake happiness. When Yuki approached her house, she felt heartbroken. She saw that her house
was one of the worst ones at the camp. The window in the back was broken, the back door was very defective because the door had no lock and the
handle was broken off, and the beds were very dirty from all of the dust and sand that spread throughout the camp.
"I guess that this is our new home." Yuki sighed before she coughed. She didn't feel very safe in their new home. She had a feeling that something bad
was going to happen to them. Yuki sat down on her bed and looked out the window that was broken.

Is there a problem here?" Yuki asked the guard. The guard looked at her and stared for a few seconds before he replied.
"No, there is no problem." The guard replied just as they grabbed the boy by the arm and started to walk away to the doctor's office.
"My name is Sean." Said the boy before he was dragged into the building. Two other guards stood at the entrance and shut the door before Yuki could
get in.
"Hey that's my friend! Let me in!" Yuki demanded the guard to let her in, but the guard said no, pushed her back, and aimed his gun at her. Yuki
stopped and started to walk back to her house. She was really confused on why Sean was taken to the doctor's office. Sean didn't look to be sick or
anything. He looked perfectly fine.
"Mom. That little boy was taken away by one of the guards." Yuki whispered to her Mother. Yuki went on explaining what she had just experienced.
Her mother was in such a state of surprise and confusion at the same time. Mother has no idea why he was taken away because he looked
exceptionally well.
"Wow. That's strange. I wonder if that boy was okay because at first he did look a little pale when we met him?" Mother said. Yuki started to think

The Harp
"Why is everyone so busy," asked Tegan. "We're going to war," said Cash. "Look at the news. Apparently the enemy wants a golden harp that's
hidden in London," Julien added in. They all went down for dinner. "Dad have you ever heard that there was a golden harp in london," Cash asked
his dad. "It's just a myth," Cash's dad replied. Cash started wondering about it and asking himself. If it is not real why do the French want it? Where
could it be? After dinner Cash, Julien and Tegan had dinner they went outside. "I just don't understand why the French want the harp when it is not
real," said Cash in a low voice. "Hey cash come look at this," shouted Tegan. Cash sprinted over to where Tegan was and saw something red and

"We want to stop the war from coming and if we tell other people there not going to believe us," replied Julien. "Well what if this is just a prank
and the key doesn't open a door to the harp. This just sounds like rubbish," Tegan said with frustration. "Well it's worth a try I mean we don't want to
have to go to war," Julien said. "That's true. Ok we will look for the key to open a door to find the harp," Tegan said with excitement.
It was the next morning and they were all ready to go and find the key. They each had backpacks filled with enough food for two days because they
were probably going to stay the night. They also had walkie talkies in case they split up and they have camping gear. After about an hour of
walking they finally found the swamp. They started to hike through it. "This swamp water is as clear as mud. Nobody would be able to find a key
in here," said Tegan. "Maybe the key isn't in the swampy water," Julien said with hope. They walked a little further than Cash saw something shiny in
the trees. "Guys I think I see the key." He climbed up the tree and grabbed the key that was sitting there. "Now we just need to find the door," Julien
said with excitement.
They read the words on the key. "The door is right past the swamp. So all we need to do now is open the door and get the harp," Cash said. They
walked through the dirty swamp and saw the door through the dancing leaves on the ground. Cash took the key sprinted up to the

Brian Wilbourn: A Short Story
As i'm sitting on the floor, numb, confused, and dazed, i try to comprehend what is going on. All i can here is a deep voice telling everyone to
stay down. Just a few minutes later everything is back to normal, except the bank that me and my mom are at is a disaster and there are cops right
beside me asking questions. Once I come to reality and realize what happened, I have to start talking to a detective with the name of Brian
Wilbourn. Right after I get done talking with detective Wilbourn, my friend Jack Winter walks in. While my mom was talking to the officer, me
and Jack decided to get some fresh air, so we walk out the bank. Right when we walk out, a black bag goes over our heads. When I wake up I'm in a

Confused we looked at the picture. It was too blurry so we couldn't make out what it was. We could just tell it was a person in all black, at the door
of the bank that got robbed this morning. The person was looking up at where the picture was taken, so it must've been a security camera."I think
it's who robbed the bank this morning," I explained to Jack. Jack just gave me a look that made him seem mad. "Why would you think we were in
here to find out who robbed the bank! That is just the stupidest thing i've heard! We are clearly here because someone wants revenge. Let me guess
you did something stupid." With a puzzled look on my face Jack comes over gives me a hug and says, "I'm sorry i didn't mean it, I'm just a little
homesick, you know?" I did know. I forgave him almost instantly because he would've done the same exact thing if I acted like that. Me and Jack
decided that It'd be best to try to reach someone with the walkie talkie. Right when we turned it on we could hear detective Wilbourn talking. We
realized that the walkie talkie that we had was already set up, so that would make the entire thing a set up and the person that put us here wanted us to
find these things. On the walkie talkie we could hear him talking about trying to find us and looking for our

Mobile Electronics Are A Big Part Of Our Society
Mobile electronics are a big part of our society. The biggest example of this is probably the cell phone. Cell phones have become one of those things
that you must have today. The cell phone and devices like it continue to get smarter and smarter. With the evolution of the smartphone In recent years,
most of us walk around with a handheld computer in our pockets. As the devices continue to evolve, so to then must the accessories. Headphones are
an accessory that many of us carry at all times. When you buy a new phone it usually comes with a pair of wired headphones made of cheap material
that most of us disregard. We usually ditch these for something that better suits our lifestyle, wireless, sound quality, etc. The Hooke wireless... Show

Product B may not have the booming sound of product A, and allows a little outside noise in, but is still a pair of decent headphones. This topic will
be more important to some people than others. I use my headphones at the gym more than anyplace else. There's nothing worse than listening to gym
music, so for me I need my headphones to block out all that crap the gym plays so I can zone out. I prefer wireless headphones over the wired
variety. The key benefit here for me is that
I'm able to move around freely without a wire being in my way. It never fails either that the wire always gets caught on something and snatches the
headphones off your head. For me wireless is the only way to go when picking headphones. Since my headphones of choice are wireless, I will be
using a Bluetooth connection. When using a Bluetooth connection, you must be careful to stay within your Bluetooth range or you will lose
connection. If I'm in my apartment, I don't want to have to carry my phone with me when I have my headphones on. I want to be able to leave my
phone on the charger and walk around my place without losing my connection. The range of your connection is very important if you choose wireless
headphones.
I'm a very busy person who is always on the go. I need my headphones to be as durable as me. Since I'm gone most days from sun up to sun down, I
need my pair of headphones to be

Personal Narrative: 5th Grade Deportage
5th grade deportage was a fun time in my life. It was a camp surrounded by woods and a big lake. There was 1,000 acres of woods. That was where
one of the scariest moments in my life happened. Charlie to base was a game they played there, and It was a harmless game so I thought. I was
paired up with two other kids I did not know to find clue in the 1,000 acres of woods. With this experience I have learned that people can only fully
rely on themselves and not other people. A cloudy, cool temperature day, two 5th grade students and myself were sent off into the woods for a game
called Charlie to Base. In this game we were given a walkie talkie and a compass to find clues. That still does not sound like a good to me. So the two

Being an emotional fifth grader, someone could imagine how hard that was. After listening to the other two kids cry about how scared the were,
and talking about bad scenarios I realized quickly I had to be the mature one. We were in contact with the counselor over the walkie talkie, but
without knowing our location that did not do us much good. If wondering around 1,000 acres in the woods lost was not bad enough, it started
raining. Very convenient right? "Stop panicking, help is on the way guys!" I assured "Okay, I am sorry this is just really scary." Wilson replied.
After about ten more minutes our counselor was getting worried also. She said no one has ever been lost before. Just what we wanted to hear. We
got the bright idea to check the map, and see where the lake was. That was after an hour and a half in the rain. We figured it out and found the lake.
We then saw that camp was all the way across from the lake. Which does not seem like a far walk, but keep in kind the was 1,000 acres we are talking
about. We then started walking toward camp finally. "I am so glad we found this lake!" Austin said. "Trust me I am to, that was scary!" Austin

What Is Low E Glass? Essay
What is Low–E Glass? According to the educationcenter.PPG.com (1), "Glass is one of the most popular and versatile building materials used
today." A big reason is because of its solar and thermal performance. And one way these efficiencies are achieved is through the use of passive and
solar controls in the coatings of the glass.
As with anything, there is a reason we do and a reason we don't do something. Low–E glass is no different. There is pros and cons to doing this
treatment to your building. One of the biggest advantages of this glass is that it limits the amount of UV rays let through it. UV exposure can be
harmful to the skin and can fade fabrics. Another advantage is that it helps keep the indoor temperature constant by not letting the heat in or out
depending on the season. This helps you save money on utility bills. A major disadvantages of low–e glass is the price. It is a larger cost upfront
compared to a traditional window but that larger investment will end up saving you money in the end. Another disadvantage is that you could notice a
haze on the glass itself. This haze is from the coating treatment done to the glass and will affect how clear you view is through the glass. The Solar
Energy Spectrum covers the type of light and where they are on the spectrum. The light ray and its frequency is what the coatings are filtering or
protecting from. According to www.energyconservatio nga.com

Radio Waves And The Radio
The science of radios has been around for a long time, with many scientists making contributions. It all started in 1860 James Maxwell predicted
the existence of radio waves. In 1886, Heinrich Hertz proved that radio waves could be manipulated to form sound. Radio waves were first put to
work to make telegraphs, but then Lee DeForest figured out how to amplify waves to make them audible over long distances, effectively inventing
the first radio. By 1915, humans had perfected AM radio broadcasting and were able to transmit across oceans for the first time. However, the FM
radio was yet to be conceived and it took until 1933 until Edwin Armstrong learned how to improve audio signal and broadcasting range, which led to
FM radio. The radio... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a real radio station, the radio will have an assigned frequency so no two stations will be broadcasting over each other. When a radio is tuned to a
number, it is really being tuned to that number's frequency. Electromagnetic waves are very important to radios because they provide a medium at
which to output a sound. Because of their properties of magnetism and electricity, they are able to broadcast a sound at a distance of which no
other medium can. Radios are truly complicated devices, but they can be simplified by breaking them down into important parts, as the tester will
do in this experiment. One important part is the transformer. A transformer, in this case, will transfer the output from the headphone jack into a
radio signal. However, transformers are not only used on radios, but are essential in almost any device involving sound. Once the transformer sends
out the radio signal, it is sent to the crystal oscillator which is another important part. The oscillator makes an electromagnetic frequency by
vibrating a piece of crystal. Once it is modified by the oscillator, the signal is complete and ready to be broadcasted. However, none of this could
have happened without the source of power, which in this case is either 4 AA batteries or a 9V radio battery. The type of battery is the deciding factor
in this experiment, and also one of the key components in a

BOOM! thunder rolls and lightning flashes! Drops of rain hit the door. Silently the door slowly opens, the lights flicker and they go out. Shoes,
sloshing, soaked the man walks into the pitch black house ever so hesitantly. Leaving wet footprints as he goes. "Who's there," she cried, "I know

I was laying in my bed. A cold and quiet night, just how I like it. My brother, Frank Heff, was in the kitchen making dinner. He's a lot older than me

Walkie Talkie Plane-Personal Narrative
I am an executive police inspector for the Seattle PD. Seven years ago I was investigating a series of gruesome murders that occurred in the city and its
surrounding suburbs. I remember my first encounter with the case, it was mid–December and I had just returned from my "vacation" in North Korea.
The second my plane landed, I saw I had 24,000 missed messages, too much for one man to deal with.
"I'm not dealing with this right now." I threw my phone off the tarmac beneath an oncoming plane. Immediately I received a call on my walkie–talkie;
that's when I knew it was serious. As I watched the plane crush my phone from the safety of the terminal, I answered the walkie talkie.
"Hello, can you hear me?" It was my boss, Jeff.

I burst out of the underground lair and ran as far and as fast as I could. I got about three minutes away before I stopped from exhaustion. "Guess

When I got back to my house, I saw the newspaper headline: 'Bus Full of School Children Crashes, Slipped on Round of Cheese'.

ourselves. So, what we did was gather a bunch of old twigs and green leaves and disguised ourselves as bushes, and as we saw two employees come
by we knocked them out behind the bush using a tranquilizer and hid them behind our bush so we could snatch their identification card. Once that was
done we had scanned the card into the metallic scanner, and tried to blend with the other workers as much as possible. In the front office we were

We had entered the helicopter maintenance room and you could see many military helicopters, there were so many to choose from the Sikorsky R–4 to

"Brand new school, brand new records, brand new everything." Said Jeremy the security guard. He 's been a guard for high schools for about

apparently not as excited for the school as Jeremy was. It was upsetting to Jeremy; he had been looking forward to the job for a while. He hated his

I nodded in mutual agreement before taking a sip of coffee. Behind me, I heard Jeremy open the office door and close it behind him. Alone in the
dark now, I observed Nathaniel's progress with the screen in front of me. As he strolled down the hall, a white dot popped up around him– the security

Ludvig: What If It's Somewhere Out There?
"Don't do it!" shouted Edward, "What if it's somewhere out there?" Ludvig forced out an "I'm sorry", as he forced open the rusted, rarely used,
almost antique emergency doors and rushed down the hallway. The whole building rumbled as if an earthquake had struck its premises. The hallway
caved in before Edward's eyes. His ambition of returning home, crushed. Ludvig, before Edward's eyes, crushed. Edward's experiences with Ludvig
were seemingly all coming back at once to haunt him. They were ten years younger again, two teenagers jumping around in a southern German
junkyard, 1962. "Get down from there, I'll catch you if you fall," stammered out the concerned Ludvig. Edward tried to show off, but he missed his
footing on the greasy, broken down... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Edward finally gathered the courage to get up from where he had been sitting and start walking toward the opposite direction of the collapsed
hallway. Being alone was anything but one of Edward's strong suits. He thought he had heard some static and muffled talking through his walkie
talkie, but that was impossible. The only other person on that frequency was Ludvig, and Edward was sure he had seen Ludvig die. "Great, now I'm
hearing things... and apparently talking to myself," sighed Edward. Edward was showing signs of a mental breakdown, as much as he didn't want to
accept it. He was seeing things, hearing things, and couldn't decipher truth from reality anymore. They came to this abandoned laboratory to try and
find the fabled "Lizard Man," a legend among the local folk. Instead, Edward lost everything he had, except for a walkie talkie, a handgun they had
brought just in case the legends turned out to be true. On the third day, Edward was sleep deprived and delusional as ever. The sound of his footsteps
and the occasional thought out loud that he would whimper out became a looped soundtrack to these empty corridors. Talking to himself again, Edward

Army Duty
In this scenario, where a platoon of enemy combatants has taken refuge inside a school in a nearby village, any law enforcement assistant is
needed to save as many civilians as possible. As an officer, it is my duty to follow the laws and punish those who break the law. I also must follow
orders from a higher officer, but for this scenario, my morals come first and I cannot just sit at the base and wait for people to die. My decision is to go
to the nearby village and help the as many as I can villagers from the enemies. The plan is to form a group with other soldiers who have the same
mindset as me. With the group, we can move swiftly and form a plan. This would mean the soldiers are risking their lives with no available backup.

The enemies are going to be alerted at this point that they are being attacked because of the bombs that have been exploded. They will use
villagers as human shields to protect themselves against possible gunfire, which makes it difficult to save the villagers unharmed. Our movements
around the school need to be quiet and unrecognizable. We know these enemies are not afraid to kill so, we approach them with caution. A couple
of soldiers from the group will be left outside to take down any enemies who try to escape from the school. Negotiating with the main leader is our
first option, telling the leader that he will have a surplus amount of money with a "safe" getaway for the safety of the villagers. If the leader refuses,
they could most likely try to kill us. However, warning the leader, they only have 10 mins to get out the building, if not, the whole building is
blowing up with preset bombs located in the middle of the building. This action is to show the leader we are not afraid to die, which in actuality, there
was no bomb. Gunfire is bound to happen, lives are going to be brought to an end, and traumatic experiences will never be forgotten. Being trained
soldiers, we have enough potential to make it out of the battle with more injured than dead. Some mothers sacrifice their lives to save their children
and some men gave their lives to recuse their families. Soldiers have lost their lives; however, they will not be

Summary Of Emily's Short Story: Lethal Organisms May Lay...
Emily kept walking upon the path in confusion. She wondered what the sign she had previously read meant. "Probably in a different language," she
declared to no–one in particular. If she didn't know what 'Lethal Organisms may Lay Before You' meant then it was definitely in a different language,
which in Emily's logic, meant it was unimportant. She had never travelled here before; it was a long journey that included lots of walking. Emily's
mother wouldn't have let her out here at all, as she claimed it may be dangerous, but Emily couldn't resist not knowing what lay here, in this particular
area of the country. Her rations that originally consisted of French Fries, a cold hot–dog bun (that had been prepared for lunch) and two bars of Kit

Emily heard nothing but silence and the occasional tweet from a passing–by bird. "Hello, bir–" Emily's words were cut off by the sound of her own

flashlight (which she 'borrowed' from her dad) and shone it to get a good look at her surroundings. Emily found herself in a dark and lonely pit. She
wasn't too good at math, but she made a fair estimation that it was around three times her height, therefore climbing was not an option. She ruffled
through her bag in attempt to find something useful. Her face lit up is it was greeted by a walkie–talkie. She switched her walkie–talkie on and started
talking. "Hello? Mummy? Daddy?" the fear in her voice could be sensed. As she spoke into the walkie–talkie, she continued shining the torch all
around the pit, which wasn't too big, in fact, wouldn't have caught someone bigger than Emily's size. Just then, the walkie–talkie sprung back to life.

The Flame Of The Tank
The fluorescent LED light shone through the filtered water of the French Angelfish tank, creating a false sunlight. Bubbles from the filter gathered on
the surface of the water. The tank itself was impeccable, as it had just been cleaned. More bubbles began to form as the inhabitants of the tank returned
to their home. The fish began to mindlessly swim around the tank. Around the fake cheaply painted coral, through the plastic plants, and over the
slightly fluorescent blue pebbles covering the glass bottom of the tank. Two of the walls of their confinement were completely blank, a slate of white
that separated them from their neighboring tanks. The other two walls though, were more interesting. One looked out into a hallway, the walls lined
with fish tanks. Humans occasionally filled this hall, staring into and tapping the glass of their tank. The other wall however, looked out into the ocean.
An endless expanse of of water, and coral, more than enough space that any fish could wish for, seeing that there was never any fish that passed
through that fraction of the ocean.
"Not yet that it", muttered Bert as he stared out into the endless ocean.
"Are you staring at the ocean again?" asked Normandy as he swam up beside Bert "This is starting to become a problem". Bert sighed, a small string of
bubbles rising to the surface as he did.
"I don't see what's so bad about it", replied Bert returning his attention to the ocean.

Always Told Me Narrative
The house appeared to be empty as the car pulled up to the front, I glanced out of the tinted windows surveying it. A modest two story place with a
stereotypical white picket fence. It liked the kind of place to raise a family, at least that's what TV always told me. It had been at least a day since

Walkie Talkies During The Second World War
Walkie Talkies are handheld two–way radios that were first used in the second world war to communicate between military soldiers. From heavy, five
pound metal objects to wearing it on your wrist, these devices have developed greatly in the past 80 years. The walkie talkie was invented by the
Canadian inventor, Donald L. Hings, in 1937. At the time, these devices were called 'packsets'. Nowadays, walkie talkies are used for more than just
military uses, but for business, outdoor activities, and public safety. Although walkie talkies are more frequently used these days for recreation, one
thing that has stayed the same over the years, is that they are still being accustomed to the military. During the second world war, this newly developed
technology was so heavy, that it was strapped onto the soldier's back. This shows just how far this invention has come to this date. Walkie talkies were
a huge starting point for the creation of handheld cellphones, which also contributed to the beginning of handheld walkie talkies.... Show more content

Two-Way Radio-Talkie Vs Radio

but the way in which they transmit is completely different. Ham radio and CB radio are another communication system that people can be confused
about, but to speak knowledgably about the topic, you should know the difference. Walkie–Talkies and Two–Way Radios While many people believe
that the term walkie–talkie and two–way radio can be used interchangeably, the terms describe items with characteristics that are quite different. They

CB operators, or citizens band radio operators, are people who are only loosely regulated by government oversight. Anyone in the general public
can jump onto a CB radio and talk to anyone within the U. S. at any time. CB equipment has a limited range and are only able to transmit at five
watts, which limits how far the signal can travel. At five watts, it's only a few miles. They are also restricted to the 27 MHz band. Ham radio
operators have to be licensed to operate their equipment. They have to pass a Morse code as well as a radio theory test to obtain that license. Once
they've passed and are given a license, they are able to communicate as well as repair and build their own equipment. They have larger power levels
up to 1.5k watts compared to the low watts of the CB operator, which means they're able to transmit over a larger range. They are not restricted to
certain MHz bands either. It's not difficult to see how people might get confused about the difference in walkie–talkies vs two–way radios and ham
radios vs CB radios. While there are some people who still use these terms interchangeably, now you'll know the difference and can talk with some
authority about the topic. You'll understand the difference if you decide to take part in the communities that like to use Ham or CB radios as well as

1984 В·Fresh water fishers and mid sized boat owners were the most likely to buy the product. From exhibit 4, techsonic already is a market
leader in freshwater LCD units and 901 would increase its market share. В·Based on techsonic retail pricing plan of $441 for standard unit and $629

My Family And My Life
During the summer of 2008, my family and I took a trip to Rome. I had anticipated this for most of that year, and I was very excited when the day
finally arrived to leave. Summer break was already a month in, and I had been packing for the last few days. The flight was almost nine hours, and
most of the flight I slept. When we arrived in Italy, we went to our hotel and for the next few days, we went to many places like the, Colosseum and
the Pantheon. We also went to many restaurants that reflected the Italian culture. I recall tasting a margarita, and it being some of the best pizza I 've
had, it was thin and delicious. A few days into the trip, my parents decided to take us to theSistine Chapel. At the time I had minimal knowledge of
world history, so I did not understand what this place was, but once we arrived, I was amazed by its size , the beauty of the painting and I when I
realize how old it was, I found it very interesting. We decided to take a tour, along with a tour guide, telling our group information along the way.
Although we were in a group, there was a mass of other people, as well as many other tours going on. We would go to many rooms, some people
would stay in a room, while others would move on. There was so much to see, and since there was art on the ceiling, my eyes were mostly locked
above me. In a particular room, I had gone ahead, while my parents had stayed. I thought I had remembered what room they were, and how to get
there from where I was, but I

Alfred J Gross Research Paper
Alfred J Gross started inventing at the young age of only nine, then he was inventing a wireless communications product that would help shape his
career path. His first invention was a ham radio with materials scavenged from a junkyard and fabricating his own metal radio chassis in a
metalworking class. By 1938 he had built the first walkie–talkie that could transmit messages across town, he had built two models of the walkie–talkie
that operated at 300 MHz and could transmit 38 kilometers. Within a year, his walkie–talkie caught the attention of military officials in Washington and
not long after his product would be used in the first World War. Otherinvention that he created was the wireless pager and the cordless telephone. In
1958 he

How Did Walkie Talkies Help Canada
Have you ever wondered what influenced the kind of technology we have today? Well, World War II had a lot to do with it. Specifically, the
Canadian scientists and inventors that helped Canada during that war. They have created a large amount of the technology we used during World War
II and that we still use today. For example, walkie–talkies were made for soldiers in the army to communicate with each other and radars were made to
detect the location of aircraft, ships, motor vehicles, and spacecraft. Radars also helped check how the weather conditions were. Furthermore, Canada
didn't defeat Germany in World War II by just using bombs and machine guns, Canada defeated Germany because of the scientists and inventors that

Robert Watson helped win the Battle of Britain with his invention: the radar. A radar is a detection system that uses radio waves to determine the
distance of objects through range, angle, and velocity. The Canadian military used these radars on ships, aircraft, and motor vehicles. Radars were
essential for these vehicles because the terrains and weather can become very dangerous while travelling. The radars would provide them with rescue
if they ever got lost. In addition, radars were used to help locate Germany's ships and planes that might be a potential threat (Ryerson 294). As a result,
many bomb threats and attacks from Germany were avoided. In summary, the inventions of scientists and inventors helped Canada defeat Germany in
World War II. Another invention that Canada thought was a great asset were sonars. A sonar is a system for the detection of objects under water. They
measure the depths of water by emitting sound pulses and detecting when those pulses are reflected back from the depths. During World War II,
Canadian submarines used sonars to detect other vessels that may be around them. For example, by using the sonars, submarines can find German
submarines (U–boats) and capture them before they cause harm. Thus, the British and Canadians were able to radar information really quickly, usually

Jonathon Esparza Interview
For my interview essay I chose to interview Jonathon Esparza an electronic technician serving in the Navy. Esparza is a radio tech more specifically
WSC–3 or as he likes to say he is the "brains of the ship". Although an electronic technician wasn't his first choice he still loves what he does.
Growing up he was surrounded by friends who wanted to go to college right after high school but for Jon his plan was different. He grew up around
veterans that would tell him about their stories at sea. For example a torpedoman first class who lived in his complex would always tell him stories
and he would sit and chat with him and also Sergeant Mcgee who was a helicopter mechanic. He would listen to their stories and he would be so
intrigued and fascinated that he wanted to join himself . Although he was only eight at the time he knew that serving for his country is what he wanted
to do as soon as he finished with high school. But he never felt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He believes he is helping out with security of the sea so trade and commerce. So that we can have our goods and economical growth and as well
transportation of the troops to different countries and of course helping escort the carrier to do its job. It is all an intricate piece to the main mission.
But they are a small community, only .1% of people join and he feels like they don't have time to vote or put their voice for their government. They
all hope that the people they fight and bleed for will take care of military as much as the military takes care of them. He feels like we aren't either
Republican or Democrat we are, we the people that is how it is always been. Jonathon i obviously is proud to serve for his country and proud of his
country. Whatever choices is country makes he believes he has to stand by and will stand by it. Even if the choices this country makes affect his line
of work he will stand by his

Jiho Narrative

  • 1. Jiho Narrative "Urgh." I open my eyes slowly. My heads spinning and I'm in pain everywhere. It doesn't take more than half a second to know for a fact that I'm not in my house anymore. Instead, I'm in a huge room, which after looking around, I figured out is a classroom. It's bright due to the fact that one of the windows nearby is wide open. The room is basically empty except for two wall sized chalkboards that were littered with words. One seemed full of names of rival gangs. Block B being one of them. The other one was full of other names. I spotted my own name among them. It had me concerned, but no more concerned then the guy named Jiho, whose name was crossed out, probably with a sharp nail or knife. Guess that guy must be public enemy number one to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, my hand falls on something interesting. I pick it up. It's a roll of kimbap. I look to my side. Where the kimbap had just been sat a walkie talkie. It looked extremely expensive and I looked around the room once again. Was this a trap? Since this is a classroom. I have to be at a school. I need to get out of here. I swear I was home a few minutes ago. An annoying panicky feeling starts to crawl up my spine, spitting needles of pain into all my injuries. Fuck. How troublesome. I fiddle with the walkie talkie. Maybe I can find a way to get in contact with someone who can help me. After a good minute of messing with the most difficult high class walkie talkie I've ever seen, I manage to get it on. I was shocked to hear voices automatically. And even more shocked (not really actually) to hear voices I know. "I told you, I didn't see anything in sector B." Junior informs the rest. God damn it. Why didn't I realize these demon children were the ones who kidnapped me? I open my mouth to curse the shit out of them, but stop when a voice comes through. A voice that wasn't too familiar. Surprisingly, I already knew who it belonged to. "Hyung, you have to be blind. Those thugs were crowding up the court yard. Bam saw them ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Textual Analysis Of Die Hard Over the past seven weeks, my perception of movies has been forever changed. I used to strictly watch the storyline of movies, but now, I constantly catch myself seeking to identify the elements of Cinema. The meaningful aesthetics of Die Hard are created by presenting the audience with the aspects of narration, mise–en–scene, cinematography, editing, and sound. Although this factor may not stand out, narration depicts a lot of meaning in the film, Die Hard. Firstly, there is a motif of characters humming throughout the film. We see the group of German antagonists towards the beginning of the film humming while working throughout their plan. Later, Officer Powell hums while going through the store to pick up twinkies for his pregnant wife. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, the film starts off with a black screen and a loud, high–pitch screeching sound of an airplane's jets. Without any dialogue or visual information, the sound present in this scene is used to creatively establish the setting of an airplane landing. In comparison, when Hans and Theo are in the access control room while their download for robbery is complete, there is a sound effect synchronized to the bright light and wind behind Hans' head. This specific sound effect generates the meaning of success for the antagonists. Following sound, music has a large impact on the film. For instance, sorrowful music is played when Officer Powell explains to John over the walkie–talkie that he shot a thirteen–year old. This music is meaningful in allowing the audience to mourn with Officer Powell over his mistake. Towards the end of the film, Officer Powell shoots an antagonist and a more enlightening tune is played. The music in this scene symbolizes the meaning of Officer Powell overcoming his fear. The film, Die Hard, uses sound to design meaning to the setting, conflict at hand, and feelings of certain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She saw that her house was one of the worst ones at the camp. The window in the back was broken, the back door was very defective because the door had no lock and the handle was broken off, and the beds were very dirty from all of the dust and sand that spread throughout the camp. "I guess that this is our new home." Yuki sighed before she coughed. She didn't feel very safe in their new home. She had a feeling that something bad was going to happen to them. Yuki sat down on her bed and looked out the window that was broken. "I will be in the next block over if you guys need me." the boy stated before he left. He walked ... The guard replied just as they grabbed the boy by the arm and started to walk away to the doctor's office. "My name is Sean." Said the boy before he was dragged into the building. Two other guards stood at the entrance and shut the door before Yuki could get in. "Hey that's my friend! Let me in!" Yuki demanded the guard to let her in, but the guard said no, pushed her back, and aimed his gun at her. Yuki stopped and started to walk back to her house. She was really confused on why Sean was taken to the doctor's office. Sean didn't look to be sick or anything. He looked perfectly fine. "Mom. That little boy was taken away by one of the guards." Yuki whispered to her Mother. Yuki went on explaining what she had just experienced. Her mother was in such a state of surprise and confusion at the same time. Mother has no idea why he was taken away because he looked exceptionally well. "Wow. That's strange. I wonder if that boy was okay because at first he did look a little pale when we met him?" Mother said. Yuki started to think about it and he did look a little pale almost

Apparently the enemy wants a golden harp that's hidden in London," Julien added in. They all went down for dinner. "Dad have you ever heard that there was a golden harp in london," Cash asked his dad. "It's just a myth," Cash's dad replied. Cash started wondering about it and asking himself. After about an hour of walking they finally found the swamp. They started to hike through it. "This swamp water is as clear as mud. Nobody would be able to find a key in here," said Tegan. He climbed up the tree and grabbed the key that was sitting there. "Now we just need to find the door," Julien said with excitement. They read the words on the key. "The door is right past the swamp. • 10. What Is Low E Glass? Essay What is Low–E Glass? According to the educationcenter.PPG.com (1), "Glass is one of the most popular and versatile building materials used today." A big reason is because of its solar and thermal performance. And one way these efficiencies are achieved is through the use of passive and solar controls in the coatings of the glass. As with anything, there is a reason we do and a reason we don't do something. Low–E glass is no different. There is pros and cons to doing this treatment to your building. One of the biggest advantages of this glass is that it limits the amount of UV rays let through it. UV exposure can be harmful to the skin and can fade fabrics. Another advantage is that it helps keep the indoor temperature constant by not letting the heat in or out depending on the season. This helps you save money on utility bills. A major disadvantages of low–e glass is the price. It is a larger cost upfront compared to a traditional window but that larger investment will end up saving you money in the end. Another disadvantage is that you could notice a haze on the glass itself. This haze is from the coating treatment done to the glass and will affect how clear you view is through the glass. The Solar Energy Spectrum covers the type of light and where they are on the spectrum. The light ray and its frequency is what the coatings are filtering or protecting from. • 11. Radio Waves And The Radio The science of radios has been around for a long time, with many scientists making contributions. It all started in 1860 James Maxwell predicted the existence of radio waves. In 1886, Heinrich Hertz proved that radio waves could be manipulated to form sound. Radio waves were first put to work to make telegraphs, but then Lee DeForest figured out how to amplify waves to make them audible over long distances, effectively inventing the first radio. By 1915, humans had perfected AM radio broadcasting and were able to transmit across oceans for the first time. However, the FM radio was yet to be conceived and it took until 1933 until Edwin Armstrong learned how to improve audio signal and broadcasting range, which led to FM radio. The radio... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a real radio station, the radio will have an assigned frequency so no two stations will be broadcasting over each other. When a radio is tuned to a number, it is really being tuned to that number's frequency. Electromagnetic waves are very important to radios because they provide a medium at which to output a sound. Because of their properties of magnetism and electricity, they are able to broadcast a sound at a distance of which no other medium can. Radios are truly complicated devices, but they can be simplified by breaking them down into important parts, as the tester will do in this experiment. One important part is the transformer. A transformer, in this case, will transfer the output from the headphone jack into a radio signal. However, transformers are not only used on radios, but are essential in almost any device involving sound. Once the transformer sends out the radio signal, it is sent to the crystal oscillator which is another important part. The oscillator makes an electromagnetic frequency by vibrating a piece of crystal. Once it is modified by the oscillator, the signal is complete and ready to be broadcasted. However, none of this could have happened without the source of power, which in this case is either 4 AA batteries or a 9V radio battery. The type of battery is the deciding factor in this experiment, and also one of the key components in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bubbles from the filter gathered on the surface of the water. The tank itself was impeccable, as it had just been cleaned. More bubbles began to form as the inhabitants of the tank returned to their home. The fish began to mindlessly swim around the tank. Around the fake cheaply painted coral, through the plastic plants, and over the slightly fluorescent blue pebbles covering the glass bottom of the tank. Two of the walls of their confinement were completely blank, a slate of white that separated them from their neighboring tanks. The other two walls though, were more interesting. One looked out into a hallway, the walls lined with fish tanks. Humans occasionally filled this hall, staring into and tapping the glass of their tank. The other wall however, looked out into the ocean. An endless expanse of of water, and coral, more than enough space that any fish could wish for, seeing that there was never any fish that passed through that fraction of the ocean. "Not yet that it", muttered Bert as he stared out into the endless ocean. "Are you staring at the ocean again?" asked Normandy as he swam up beside Bert "This is starting to become a problem". • 30. Walkie Talkies During The Second World War Walkie Talkies are handheld two–way radios that were first used in the second world war to communicate between military soldiers. From heavy, five pound metal objects to wearing it on your wrist, these devices have developed greatly in the past 80 years. The walkie talkie was invented by the Canadian inventor, Donald L. Hings, in 1937. At the time, these devices were called 'packsets'. Nowadays, walkie talkies are used for more than just military uses, but for business, outdoor activities, and public safety. Although walkie talkies are more frequently used these days for recreation, one thing that has stayed the same over the years, is that they are still being accustomed to the military. During the second world war, this newly developed technology was so heavy, that it was strapped onto the soldier's back. This shows just how far this invention has come to this date. Walkie–Talkies and Two–Way Radios While many people believe that the term walkie–talkie and two–way radio can be used interchangeably, the terms describe items with characteristics that are quite different. They are close enough that it's a forgiveable offense to confuse the two, but they are still a bit different. A two–way radio is one that can receive and transmit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... CB operators, or citizens band radio operators, are people who are only loosely regulated by government oversight. Anyone in the general public can jump onto a CB radio and talk to anyone within the U. S. at any time. CB equipment has a limited range and are only able to transmit at five watts, which limits how far the signal can travel. At five watts, it's only a few miles. They are also restricted to the 27 MHz band. Ham radio operators have to be licensed to operate their equipment. They have to pass a Morse code as well as a radio theory test to obtain that license. Once they've passed and are given a license, they are able to communicate as well as repair and build their own equipment. They have larger power levels up to 1.5k watts compared to the low watts of the CB operator, which means they're able to transmit over a larger range. They are not restricted to certain MHz bands either. It's not difficult to see how people might get confused about the difference in walkie–talkies vs two–way radios and ham radios vs CB radios. Specifically, the Canadian scientists and inventors that helped Canada during that war. They have created a large amount of the technology we used during World War II and that we still use today. For example, walkie–talkies were made for soldiers in the army to communicate with each other and radars were made to detect the location of aircraft, ships, motor vehicles, and spacecraft. Radars also helped check how the weather conditions were. A radar is a detection system that uses radio waves to determine the distance of objects through range, angle, and velocity. The Canadian military used these radars on ships, aircraft, and motor vehicles. Radars were essential for these vehicles because the terrains and weather can become very dangerous while travelling. The radars would provide them with rescue if they ever got lost. In addition, radars were used to help locate Germany's ships and planes that might be a potential threat (Ryerson 294).
