Bella Velez
Bella Velez, is not your ordinary outcast nerd, she has a secret, but this secret is dangerous. If
anyone knew her secret or should I say secret life, they had already put themselves in danger. Bella
is the smartest person in the whole high school, she is even graduating a year earlier than her
classmates. By day, she is the high school little nerd but by night she is the most deadly mafia leader
in the entire United States and holds the title of undefeated champion in illegal car racing. She been
mention in all news as "unknown mafia leader at large", has the largest drug shipment, murders, you
name it and she done it. The federals only information on this mafia leader is a picture where it
shows their left tattooed arm with a green snake throughout their arm. The federals have been
searching for the leader for four years but nothing, the mastermind of the operation leaves no clue
behind. The federals seem to have tried everything from looking for clues to even eavesdropping on
phones. They have no clue, no lead towards this leader, will they ever figure out that the leader is ...

This was the part Bella hated so much, where she had to sew the wound because it was too deep,
with a needle dip in alcohial and set the tip of the needle on fire, she began to stitch the wound. And

Bella Behavior Observation
Steve and Art, I need to say some things about Bella's behavior regarding participation in services. I
am not happy to do this, but feel it is necessary. Someone needs to have a talk with her; someone
other than me. We all agree that it is good to encourage Binghamton University students to attend
and participate in Temple Israel services. However, this needs to be in cooperation with the rest of
the participants and attendees. The issues with Bella have been occurring for a few weeks, but have
become more of a problem recently so I will use the past week as specific examples. I include Bella
and the other BU students in my weekly email requesting Shabbat morning participants; last sent on
December 11. On December 13, she asked if she could lead Musaf with the full repetition. I already
had Geoffrey Brown on the chart for that part. I responded, "Our arrangement with Geoffrey Brown
is he leads Musaf and Shacharit on alternating weeks. Thank you for asking." Then Bella asked to
lead Pesukei and read Torah. Although Pesukei was open on the chart she received, it had been filled
by then. Steve Gilbert ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If she does not get the answer she wants, she will go to someone else. I feel she is being
disrespectful and uncooperative. If any of the other BU students have asked to lead part of the
service, I try to be accommodating and they accept whatever is decided. All this has made me rather
upset and tense. I could not concentrate on leading Pesukei Shabbat morning or during most of the
services Friday and Saturday. It was initially nice to have Bella's interest and enthusiasm but she has
become aggressive in wanting to get her way. Someone needs to talk with her. In person or on the
phone would probably be better than email. That someone is not going to be me. Carol has told
Phyllis at least some of the above. I did not include Geoffrey Brown or anyone else on the Ritual
Committee in this email. Howard

Bella Schmit: A Narrative Fiction
One afternoon, in Berlin, Germany, Bella Schmit was strolling home from a lonesome, wretched
day at her new school. She was walking with her head down kicking up tiny pebbles when she
almost stumbled over two petite, fuzzy, green caterpillars. She bent down and they squirmed into
her palm where she then raised them up and called, "I shall call you Oscar and Alphonse, and I will
love you forever."
"What are you up to?" her mother questioned suspiciously.
"Nothing, mom," responded Bella as she hid the jar behind her back. Her mom shuffled around to
the opposite side of the room. She saw the buckets of dirt and leaves, and unfortunately, she also
noticed Oscar and Alphonse. "Take them back outside where they belong, ... Show more content on

She no longer could bare to be apart of reality and its subset, heartbreak. So now she hides away in
her bedroom, never willing to face the cool, outside air and bright, glowy sunshine, and never
willing to allow any human being in her life again.
Bella skipped home and when she finally arrived to her house, she tucked the two caterpillars into
the pocket of her flowy, uniform skirt, and snuck them inside. She went to her room and slipped
Oscar and Alphonse into an ancient, dusty, mason jar. She grabbed a bucket and scurried outside to
collect leaves and dirt for her new friends.
She walks sneakily back inside, trying her hardest not to let her mom notice her. She knows that her
mom would never let her keep Oscar and Alphonse. While she was tiptoeing across the house, she
unknowingly left a trail of dirt behind her. As she was placing the leaf and dirt mixture into the jar,
the door suddenly began opening. It was her

Review Of Stephenie Meyer 's ' Twilight '
Lena Andersson
ENG104
Research Paper
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer is a romantic book about two teenagers, a girl named Bella and a
vampire named Edward. The two of them fall in love, and Bella is put in danger by a different group
of vampires. There have been several different types of criticism towards this book and every
criticism is different ; it includes being one hundred percent justifiable to do absolutely anything for
the one you love. Others have also said that it was not intended to relate to teen girls, but it actually
ended up doing just that. Also, some critics have compared Twilight to Harry Potter in the sense that
both of the stories "lie in a dream" (Bethune). Brian Bethune wrote a criticism called "Love at First
Bite" which at first compares Stephenie Meyer's Twilight to J.K. Rowlings' Harry Potter. There are
various reasons why Bethune believes that Twilight is similar to Harry Potter. He believes that
Meyer's and Rowling 's' stories "lie in a dream" (Bethune). This is easy to agree with because
Twilight is based on a vampire–friendly romance. This is obviously unrealistic and would never
happen in real life. In Harry Potter, the story is based on a warlock who fights off all different kinds
of magical and mythical creatures. Evidently, it is easy to figure out that this story also "lies in a
dream." Bethune starts to talk about religion which is based on Stephenie Meyer's real life and how
her religion is somewhat duplicated in her Twilight

This strategic orientation can be clearly characterized by a number of factors.
* Increase total sales from profit made in countries outside of the home country * Extends current
and existing product line into other countries * Organization structure remains more or less the same
These characteristics were prevalent in La Bella's original business strategy. Chandeliers were
manufactured in Italy and then sold outside of the domestic market. However, due to the numerous
economic crises, they were forced to change their strategic orientation. La Bella did not use the
global model (standardized products); instead, they moved to a multinational orientation (tailored
products).
A multinational strategic orientation is implemented when there is a low need for global integration,
but a high need for local responsiveness. This orientation can be distinguished by a number of
attributes:
* A product line that is altered to suit local markets * To target markets that vary between countries
* Autonomous * Decision–making is decentralized * Regiocentric or polycentric staffing
(employing host–country nationals)
It can be observed that these very characteristics contributed to La Bella's failure. Polycentric and
regiocentric staffing approaches are often advantageous, as locals understand the local market best;
they know local preferences better and can make decisions can perform accordingly

Bella Health care india
Should Bella Healthcare India take on Project TKO and develop an EKG specifically for the local
market? Why or why not?
TKO, "Technical Knockout", is single channel EKG, Bella Healthcare India is planning to launch in
Indian market. As per my opinion, Bella has many reasons to take up this opportunity. I will
categorise these reasons in two broad categories, External and Internal factors.
First external factor that affects decision of Bella to take TKO is large population of India with
insufficient health care services. India's population is large and growing but healthcare facilities are
not growing with the same rate. Also most of the medical facilities of the country are concentrated
in urban areas, leaving rural area with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To tackle these issues Bella has defined its third design principle of 'ease–to–use'. This will make
TKO weight 2 Kg. or less and one touch operating device so that physicians could handle it with
minimum training. Indian villages still face electricity issues and Bella is will provide solution to
this problem by giving battery operated device. Bella is addressing issue of unavailability of trained
physicians with its fourth design principle 'connectivity'. This design feature will help physician to
transmit data wirelessly to cardiac speciality centres and work with general practitioners to diagnose
the issue. Thus these four design principles will help Bella to address all the key issues of heart
disease diagnosis equipments. In addition to the new wireless data transfer feature, Bella's design
team is exploring the possibility of adding DICOM feature in TKO. Even though DICOM feature is
not critical in near future, it will help Bella to differentiate its product from GE's similar product and
will give upper hand in marketing the device.
Now, let's concentrate on internal factors. Bella healthcare India, part of global organisation, has its
own strengths, which will lead it to the successful handling of TKO. First strength of the company is
its India head Joseph Cherian, who has handled initial set up of Bella India and successfully leaded

New Moon Essay
New Moon by Stephenie Meyer This book was quite suspenseful. While the series is known as
being mainly romantically–based, New Moon contains a great deal of mystery. At the beginning,
Bella is unwrapping a present while at the house of her boyfriend (who just so happens to be a
vampire). His family is there, too, so when she gets a paper cut on her finger and then falls onto a
glass table and slices her arms up, it's a disaster. With all that blood, it definitely seems like the
vampires would devour her. However, they don't. A few days later, Edward moves away because he
believes it's too dangerous for them to be together. This leaves you wondering if he'll ever come
back. Then, Bella finds that if she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Things then turn desperate as Edward is slowly pulling away from her. The next part of the book is
the part that's always the hardest for me to read. The tone of the middle part is incredibly devastated
until Bella meets Jacob. Then a little hope comes through because he's finally getting her happy
once again. While she's still in love with Edward, things are better when Jacob is around. A bit of
time passes, and then the book gets suspenseful and tense because Bella nearly kills herself by cliff–
jumping. Edward thinks that she is actually dead, so he is going to attempt to kill himself, and Bella
has to try to rescue him. My favorite quote from the book is said by Bella a few months after
Edward has left. She feels that her life has basically ended, and she's spent the past few months in a
zombie–like state. The quote is, "Time passes. Even when it seems impossible. Even when each tick
of the second hand aches like the pulse behind a bruise. It passes unevenly, in strange lurches and
dragging lulls, but pass it does. Even for me." Another quote that gets me every time I think about it
is said by Edward after him and Bella are reunited at the end. It is, "Before you, Bella, my life was
like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars– points of light and reason. And then you shot
across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there

Mean Girls And Twilight : Film Analysis
The premise of both Mean Girls (Mark Waters, 2004) and Twilight (Catherine Hardwicke, 2008) is
very similar: awkward girl moves to a new high school where she becomes popular. The
construction of popularity in the films underlines a larger cultural understand of what popularity is.
Both films create a similar narrative of what goes in to popularity: conventional attractiveness,
whiteness, wealth. However, the films treatment of the actualities of being popular and the whether
or not it's a worthy goal are disparate. In Mean Girls, the narrative treats popularity as teachable or
trainable quality, but one that is, in the end, insignificant to actual life and unreflective of a person's
self–worth. In Twilight, popularity is an innate quality that reflective of a person's inner
'specialness'. Further, despite these differences, popularity is shown in as a desirable construct in
both films, even though both narratives attempt to undermine that belief.
One key factor for popularity in both films is conventional attractiveness. This reflects real world
trends, where attractiveness to boys is a crucial component in social status and "is really pretty" was
the single most impactful factor in popularity according to a survey of school girls (Duncan and
Owens 2011). The desirability is more important than even social intelligence for popularity. The
defining personality trait of both Bella of Twilight and Kady of Mean Girls is awkwardness. Bella is
exceedingly clumsy, and her opening narration highlighted her social ineptitude, never mentioning
any friends she was leaving as she moved (Hardwicke 2008). Similarly, Kady has never gone to
school before and comments on her own lack of social knowledge, initially making stilted
conversation with her classmates and misunderstanding slang (Waters 2004). However, despite their
social awkwardness they are both immediately popular because of their physical attractiveness. In
Twilight, Bella manages to attract two different boys before lunch on her first day, and the Cullen's,
a group of the most popular kids at school, are all unbelievably gorgeous (Hardwicke 2008). In
Mean Girls when head popular girl Regina George invites Kady to sit with the Plastics (the popular

La Bella Mano
Dante Gabriel Rossetti's "La Bella Mano" is an intriguing painting that faithfully contains symbolic
objects, intricate detail, and vividness of colour. These elements all reinforce the Pre–Raphaelite
goals (Lecture 4). Furthermore, Dante Gabriel Rossetti wrote a sonnet to accompany the piece
which adds another layer of meaning in understanding the painting.
The "proliferated minute detail across the whole work" is punctuated across the entire canvas. At the
bottom left of the painting, there is a wooden object that looks as though a master carpenter chiseled
it for the Goddess of the painting. The wooden object's focal point is a fleur–de–lis and stemming
from this symbol are intricately woven strands that fill in the rest of the object. Additionally, the
patterns that stem from the fleur–de–lis do not seem to have a preordained order to them, which
suggests that the carpenter was working ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A few of the intricate details i mentioned previously also are medieval symbols of royalty or coat of
arms such as the fleur–de–lis (Almost every House of France) , the double–headed eagle (the Holy
Roman Empire, to name one), and the gryphon (the House of Griffin). These signs of nobility
reinforce the Goddess' station beside the fact that she is the painting's overall focal point being the
largest subject on the canvas and reinforced by her red dress and the mirror that creates an aureole
around her head with two maidens attending to her hygiene and accessories. After reading the poem,
it becomes clear that there are two types of jewelry both silver and gold. Again there is a symbolic
here of two choices, the path of silver or the path of gold. There are so many interpretations of this,
but I see the gold as being haughtier and the silver as a humbler approach to living

Sarah got Bella 's text and went down stairs to let her in for their sleepover. They went up to Sarah 's

responded, "well there is this one guy, Nathan, but I could never ask him out." "Yeah he 's pretty
cute." "Watch it" "Haha" The girls watch a movie and go to bed. In the morning Bella leaves to go

Sarah agrees but she will have to meet them their. Bella also invites her friend Emma. Bella goes in

when she needs to be alone. While Sarah was chasing after her, Bella tripped and fell into the water.
Sarah heard Bella hit the water. She started to cry as she sees the rough waves consume Bella. Sarah
stays at the cliff for hours mourning over the death of her best friend and can 't help but think it 's
her fault. Bella is pulled under the waves, her vision goes black. She feels something around her

Bella Abzug Women
Not all women are capable of doing most jobs, but the same applies to men, and it took far too long
for this realization to flow across America. Not too long ago, it was even a struggle for women to be
able to take on the secondary positions in the workplace– or any work at all. In her book Bella!: Ms.
Abzug Goes to Washington, Bella Abzug argued, "the test of whether or not you can hold a job
should not be in the arrangement of your chromosomes" (80). Fortunately, in today's day and age it
is uncommon for a woman to fail in a job search entirely because of her gender, but in the past that
was the case. Society created an idea that females were not good enough to hold their own job, so
the duty of providing for the family was left to their husbands. For years, the majority of society did
not realize that every individual has their own strengths and weaknesses, and neither men nor
women are automatically more qualified than the other. As Abzug was trying to emphasize, it should
be genuine ability that determines who is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, it has been proven through a multitude of research that the average female makes
about 79% of the amount that their male counterpart would make. Even after achieving the victory
of making jobs for women a norm, women still struggle with the male advantage. As Susan B.
Anthony continued in Suffrage and the Working Woman, "When she has attained ability to compete
with them and to do just as well in every respect she is placed at work, if at all, on half pay"
(Anthony). Although some argue that the gender pay gap is nothing but a myth, the statistical facts
show otherwise. While those in positions of power and privilege attempt to thrust this issue out of
the picture, it remains a large problem that no woman should be unaware of. Unequal pay is a
common issue for plenty of women for far too long, and must be

Summary
Bella Swan is a 17–year–old girl who has lived in Phoenix, Arizona, with her mother, her entire life.
After her mother remarries, she moves to Forks, Washington, to live with her father. Although she is
very shy, she seems to make friends very easily at her new high school. On her first day of school,
she takes a seat next to a handsome, yet extremely reserved boy named Edward Cullen. As soon as
Bella sits down, Edward gets up and leaves, trying his hardest to avoid her. Bella finds his behavior
completely strange, but eventually Edward warms up to her, and the two begin a close friendship.
One day, Bella is walking through the school parking lot. All of a sudden, a car pulls up out of
nowhere, heading straight for Bella. Edward suddenly appears, stopping the car with little force,
using only one hand, and completely amazing Bella with his incredible strength and speed. Still
curious, Bella asks a family friend, Jacob, about Edward and the rest of the Cullen family. Jacob
reveals that the Cullen family members are all seen as outcasts, as everyone believes them to be
vampires. Bella ends up questioning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

be together because she's a Capulet and he's a Montague. Another thing they have in common is
both movies have A long triangle, in "Twilight" Bella chose edward even though Jacob also wanted

Feminine Traits Alone Aren 't Enough Make A Feminist Role...
Feminine traits alone aren't enough make you a feminist role model either. This idea is made clear
by author Stephenie Meyer, the author of the Twilight Saga. Throughout the books, Bella Swan is a
17 year old girl who is moving in with her father, out of town. She soon meets the Cullen family,
realizes they are vampires, and eventually becomes devoted to one of the males, Edward. During the
course of the series, Bella is overly emotional about a variety of things, most of the time she is
considered to be overreacting. It is clear that Bella needs help with almost everything she does, she
even comes off as the damsel in distress in most of the series. While these characteristics are
considered feminine, it still doesn't make Bella a true ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bella responds with "'Mostly I dream about being with you forever'" (Meyers, Twilight 498). She
says this to try to tell Edward that she is willing to risk anything, even her own life to be with him.
Bella won't listen to Edward despite him trying to convince her she is overreacting.
Ever since the beginning of Bella and Edward's relationship the two are almost inseparable, which is
why when he decides to end their relationship and leave in the second book, Bella becomes insane.
She stares outside for hours on end, and refuses to go anywhere or hang out with her friends. Bella's
dad confronts her about her behavior saying, "'you're just... lifeless Bella'" (Meyers, New Moon 95).
Clearly, she is overreacting, however she is truly fitting the role of a basic "clingy girlfriend". While
emotion is considered a female trait, a lot of people believe that all females overreact to everything,
which is exactly what Bella is doing by the way she reacts when Edward breaks up with her. Bella is
not good feminist role model because of her overreactions.
In addition to her overreactions, Bella is also excessively vulnerable. It seems as though Bella can't
do anything without needing help from someone. For example, in the first book, she can't seem to
move herself out of the way of an oncoming car, in fact, Edward who is quite a distance away has to
rush over to save her. Bella is standing next to her truck when she notices a car coming at her, "I was

summoning her to his office as fast as she could manage. It had been a week and a half now since he
selected her to be his new assistant and he had her chasing errands across campus like she couldn't
have imagined. She was doing this and that and something in between and she spent more time in
his office than she had in class; And it was totally worth it. Four of her classes had been reduced to
an hour a week and she'd auto–pass another two in favor of personal mentoring under Mr. Miller
which was what this job was supposed to entail. In reality, it felt more like being his personal slave.

Bella's mouth was dry yet there was a tingle of excitement in her belly. She brought her hands up
and snuck her nails underneath the sheer garment and paused, to see if Mr. Miller would stop her,
before peeling it off of Kristen's alabaster skinned ass. If anything, Bella was jealous of her ass. The
girl had an ass shaped like a peach, looking both soft and firm at the same time. The cane would
have a devastating effect on it.
When the school issued a harsh punishment like the one Kristen was about to get, regulations
dictated that the student subjected was allowed to have a friend be present for support and
supervision. It seemed like Bella was filling that role. She circled the desk and silently extended her
hands out to Kristen, imploring her to extend hers and take hold of them. She did, but not without
clearly and expressively mouthing the word 'bitch' out to her. Bella didn't react. She took Kirstens
hands and pulled them towards her, and as instructed, started the

How Is Twilight Related To Gothic Literature
Twilight, written by Stephenie Meyer was the first part of a four book series that begun in 2005. The
story begins with a girl and a vampire falling in love, and was the first series in a while to bring
vampires back into the lime light. The girl, Elisabeth "Bella" Swan and the vampire Edward Cullen,
have a complicated love that although they are destined to be together, everything is working
against them to do otherwise. Throughout the work of literature, although it is a modern day love
story, Twilight displays many gothic characteristics in its writing including the plot and the role of
the woman character throughout the story. Just like any other supernatural creatures, vampires
originated from literature. Vampire's were first seen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Twilight, although there are some instances where vampires hunt humans for food, the vampires
in this story do not. The natural instinct of vampires is to feed on human blood, in which case, in
Twilight the vampires have red eyes. Those which wish to be peaceful and allow humans to live
amongst them, like the Cullen's family who Edward is part of, have golden brown eyes. When it is
time for Edward to feed, his eyes turn a darker and darker brown color and become light once his
hunger is quenched by not humans, but by animals. This is also seen in another piece of literature
when the Countess from The Lady of the House of Love. She attempts to quench her thirst for blood
by feeding on rabbits, although this situation is different, the rabbits hold her over until she is able to

A Little Scared Are We Bella
"Ugh, there's nothing to do!" Zoe said to her two best friends, Violet and Bella. It was a friday, they
all had nothing to do so they were lounging around Bellas room. Violet quickly jumped up and had a
scaring look in her eye "I HAVE AN IDEA!" she yelled suddenly making Zoe and bella jump. "Oh
no.." Bella mumbled under her breath. Violet glared at her and said,
"Halloween is tomorrow right? Why don't we celebrate that by going to that abandoned asylum

"No way!" Bella said back.
"Thats not a bad idea, it's not like anythings gonna happen, we are just celebrating after all" Zoe said

saw a window.
"See I told you, I will go see if the window will open" Zoe took a few steps then... SLAM. The door
slammed closed leaving Zoe alone in the white empty room. She expedited to the door trying to
open it, but it seemed to be locked. She heard the screams of Bella and the yellings of Violet trying
to free Zoe. She turned and walked towards the window but as she got two feet away it started
literally melting away like wax on a candle. She ran to it but the gooey wax like substance that once
was a window burned her skin. This action instigated her to turn and ran to the locked door. But just
as the window did, it started to melt to and disappear, along with the yells and screams of the other
two girls trying to get it open. She screamed. But it was then when she noticed the eyes that stared at
her all around the room. She slowly turned around with a horrific look on her face. As she turned all

Male Dominance In Hollywood
Male dominance in Hollywood cinema was still very clear in films, but at the same time, many
films with women in the lead roles started to emerge most noticeably in the 20th century. These
roles were of real lead characters who represented real women. With contemporary films like
Twilight, Hunger Games, Gone Girl, Maleficent and Divergent, it's evident that female protagonist
films are successful in today's era. Box Office Mojo compared the box office gross from top 25
films from 2006 to 2015, showed that films with women in casting grossed $126.1 million and films
with men in casting grossed $80.6 million. However, this does not necessarily mean that the roles of
women are of protagonists: In 2014, only 12 percent of leading roles were female ... Show more

Likewise, when The Twilight Saga premiered in 2001, the target audience were mainly teenagers
but also women. It tells the story of an 18–year–old Bella who falls in love with a vampire.
Throughout the saga, Bella is in an uncertain position and instead of finding herself, she opts to
escape from them. And in order for her to be safe and challenge the reality, she has to have a rescuer
which is, Edward, a man. The author of the Twilight Saga books, Stephanie Meyer answered the
critics that ''Bella is not a negative example of women empowerment. The foundation of feminism is
this: being able to choose. Ultimately, its entirely up to Bella for what she does, therefore it does
make her a feminist'' (Ellis, 2014).
Later when Hunger Games series came out in 2012, it was considered to be the first film to be
revolutionary for stereotypical female roles in the mainstream cinema. Not only did the Hunger
Games break the stereotypes, but it is also a film which is one of the highest grossing films of all
times on the box office with a female protagonist. Hunger Games is about a 16–year–old Katniss
Everdeen who is independent in all forms, which Twilight has never shown (Ellis,

Bella Inhumane
The protagonist in my book and the main character is a teenage girl named Bella. Throughout the
whole book she is pretty innocent, and doesn't deserve being hunted by the protagonist. Some could
argue that she was not as innocent because she wanted to be a vampire which in her town the people
think would be inhumane. The story is pretty much from Bella's point of view the whole time, so we
instantly learn about her. We learn about her through her actions, and how the other people act
around her in the book. The things she does also helps explain how she acts and lives, such as
moving from a pretty big city toma small town was a hard transition for her.

Bella Marie Swan Essay
Isabella Marie Swan "Bella" as she likes to be called, is a character and the hero of the Twilight
series. Bella is depressed and there seems to be something missing inside of her. She appears to be
'emotionless'. Bella is seen as 'vacant'. Bella has no outside interests. Even at school, she is
unsociable and reserve (Durham, 2015). Bella wants to keep to herself. It appears that she's hesitant
to put stock into individuals, and reluctant to show anyone her identity, or let them get to know her
(Durham, 2015). She doesn't especially like the attention, she is uncomfortable in the spotlight.
Bella has a dependency and its frequently goes with Depression. Depression is a capable, and a

depression; her spirit has abandoned her. She died inside. Depression has taken its hold of her, and
all life has cleared out. Bella has now become 'a zombie'. According to the American Psychiatric

Isolation In Stephanie Meyer's 'Twilight'
Deeper Into the Twilight
Modern vampire interpretations are supposed to be relatable or desired, they are no longer supposed
to be feared. Stephanie Meyer's book series "Twilight" is one of the most popular teenage vampire
interpretations. The vampire characters within the movie are metaphors for the teenager.
It is common for teenagers to feel isolated from their surroundings and the people around them. The
Cullen's in the movie are automatically isolated from the rest of the town because they are the
newest citizens and live outside of the town isolated from everyone else. When Bella Swan invited
Edward Cullen to come to the beach with her group of friends he declined feeling like he would not
be wanted there. One of the characters, Angela, had this to say while they were at the beach, "It was
nice that Bella invited Edward, nobody ever does." This is what Mike had to say in response, "That's
because Cullen is a freak." The other male characters in the scene chimed in with their agreement on
his comment. Not only are the Cullen's isolated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

teenagers are introduced, they are sitting in the top left corner of the cafeteria/screen furthest away
from everyone else in the cafeteria. There is a strong connection to isolation right away within this
scene for the audience from the costumes to the framing of the shot. Just like the vampires, what a
teenager wears or where they sit in the cafeteria could isolate themselves from the majority. These
are common worries that teenagers have because they wanted to be accepted and not be the one who

Analysis Of ' How A Woman Can Get Hurt ' By Jean Kilbourne
"Two Ways a Woman Can Get Hurt", an article by Jean Kilbourne bitterly rags on sex in
advertisement. It goes into detail to describe how companies have become increasingly more likely
to sell sex in advertisements for products that, in reality, are entirely unrelated. Kilbourne focuses
primarily on how this is harmful to society– especially women and children and how they are
viewed by men, though men may also be targeted if not nearly as frequently. In a similar article
called "Taking a Bite Out of Twilight", Carmen D. Siering shares her disapproval of the popular
novel adored by so many: Twilight. Represented by the iconic red apple held in a women's palm
with a sinister black backdrop, Twilight is a modern fairytale where the prince belongs to a
monstrous society of blood–sucking models, and the princess is your average, plain–Jane
highschool girl with a knack for getting into trouble. Siering's opinion is most basically this: Bella is
objectified and downgraded in the Twilight series; a character created solely to compliment the plot
propelled by male characters. Where the majority of the population sees an aching, beautiful and
dangerous romance, Siering sees a controlling relationship and a dull female lead. Kilbourne's
article brings to light how Siering's article, directed at Stephenie Meyer's readers, is so accurate with
the the recommendation that everyone become more aware of the messages they are absorbing from
media as it snakes its way into society's

Analysis Of Why Katniss Hate Bella By Berlatsky
On Noah Berlatsky's article "Twilight vs Hunger Games: Why Do So Many Grown–Ups Hate
Bella" puts me at an interesting prospective on what Berlatsky is trying to say. Berlatsky is a writer
for The Atlantic where main point of his article was that this fight between Bella and Katniss might
ever not happen due to difference in personalities. In his article, Berlatsky starts by saying how who
would win the battle between Bella from Twilight and Katniss from Hunger Games. Berlatsky
claims that Bella would get squashed by Katniss if that were to happen. He describes Bella as very
weak individual, clumsy and ineffective. At the other hand, Katniss is much smarter, courageous and
strong. Then he uses other sources from other writers or bloggers majority ... Show more content on

It showed when the Berlatsky alludes that even though they may dislike each other, "... I think they
might understand each other's desires and each others strength"(2). Berlatsky demonstrates in way
Bella and Katniss may not be the best of friends, they can understand each other different main
desires and their strengths and weaknesses. With that, its a logical reason why maybe Bella and
Katniss might not fight each other unless if its for a purpose. Also Berlatsky brought up an alluring
point when he said "Masculinity and femininity isn't a duel to the death"(2). What Berlatsky is
trying to say is that with Katniss being more on the masculine side and Bella is in more the feminine
side, this does not necessarily mean they have to battle to prove who is better. I think it's difficult to
see who is better with both characters having two distant characteristics in masculinity and
feminism where each has some advantages and disadvantages. I think people have to accept that just
because both Bella and Katniss are different in terms of masculinity and femininity, this does not
necessarily mean as if to prove who is the better

Entering the Stereotypical Gender Ring: Bella Swan's Passivity vs. Rosalie Hale's Proactivity
For my research project I have decided to choose a character from a popular book series, Twilight
which was written by Stephenie Meyer. The forbidden love story between a plain human girl and a
gorgeous vampire boy sparked the hearts of millions, but the singular character I'm conducting my
research on is Rosalie Hale. While Bella Swan, the main character is passive, Rosalie Hale is
proactive. This is shown through her avengement of her brutal rape, rescuing her later husband, and
speaking her mind frequently about her distrust of Swan throughout the four novels.
I was immediately drawn to Rosalie Hale because my thirteen year old self adored Twilight. I
happily devoured the books in hours and awaited eagerly till past my bedtime for Breaking Dawn to
be released. When I first looked over the project, the book series popped into my mind, bringing
back all of my feelings for the novels before. More specifically, Rosalie Hale's character. In the
book she is often overlooked and seen as the jealous, stunning snob that just didn't understand the
gravity of Bella and Edward's irrevocable love. I thought that, too, until years later when I realized
that Rosalie had proven to be the only voice of reason in the novels that will speak out against Bella
Swan. The facts that I

The Twilight Sag Teenage, Vampire, Romance
Twilight Saga: Teenage, Vampire, Romance The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Myer created a
massive fan following that grew into a supernatural franchise. The story of Bella and Edward was in
the hands of countless teenagers and adults alike, captivating audiences with the classic story of
young love, but with a vampire twist. The books were published starting when I was a young
teenager, and I was not immune to the charms of a sparkly vampire fighting his desire for love for
the sake of her safety. I religious read all four books, a few times, until the hard covers cracked at
the edges, and the open books fell open to my favorite parts from being opened for so long. After
the books created a sensation, a movie series was created. In a non–surprising fashion, the movies
were popular, but as any book lover will tell you about any movie made after a book, the book was
better, way better. Reading the story at the time, I ignored critics of the book, swearing by its love
story and defending the text as it stood in my world. Re–reading this book as an adult who has
continued to read, I came to the realizations that my tastes have evolved over time. I still enjoyed
the story during my re–read this past time, but the writing was not as striking; gone was the passion
and addiction so deep I could not set the books down. The first time I read Breaking Dawn, I read it

A Sacrifice For Passion By Stephenie Meyers
Escarlin Perez Novel: New Moon June 8th, 2015
A Sacrifice for Passion. In accordance with a renowned statement that is reference by Stephenie
Meyers from the novel, New Moon, happens to entitle an astonishing significance to the novel itself.
Furthermore, the statement on page 71, from Meyers in New Moon (said by Edward Cullen), states
as follows, "I promise that this will be the last time you'll see me. I won't come back. I won't put you
through anything like this again. You can go on with your life without any more interference from
me. It will be as if I'd never existed." In other words, this statement would be a great example of the
true meaning of sacrifice. Sacrifice that is, is being willing to lose something or someone for the
sake of others benefit. Sacrifice tides closely around the statement mention by Edward Cullen in the
novel referred to as, New Moon. Who is Edward Cullen, you ask? To begin with, Edward Cullen is
the male protagonist in the novel, written by Meyers. Edward is a vampire who is one–hundred and

Throughout this journal, Bella Swan can be characterized as popular and confused. First off, Bella
Swan can be characterized as popular. For example, Edward wants to stay away from her after the
first day sitting together. The narrator says, "But Edward Cullen's back stiffened, and he turned
slowly to glare at me...He turned back to the receptionist" (Meyer 27). Overall, Edward wants to
change his schedule because he wants to avoid having same class with Bella. He wants to stay away
from Bella before he made the wrong choice, so that can be an evidence of Bella being popular.

Bella Lewitzky Research Paper
Bella Lewitzky, in her time, was considered a world–renowned modern dance instructor. Her
astounding technique, to engage the core, is still used world wide today. Born in the utopian
socialist community of Llano del Rio in the Mojave Desert, her family settled in San Bernardino
when she was a child. Dance was of a great interest to Lewitzky; she grew to love the art of dance
and attended classes taught by Lester Horton during the 1930's. Soon after beginning dance with
Lester, Bella "established herself as a highly charismatic performer with the Horton Dance Group..."
(Anderson). In the 1950's Bella left the Horton Dance Group to pursue an independent career and
soon after her establishment, she developed a considerable reputation as a dynamic dance teacher.
"As a performer, Ms. Lewitzky was a fiery stage personality, Anna Kisselgoff described her in The
New York Times in 1971 as "an extraordinary artist with an astounding mastery of technique","
(Anderson). Later for her creations of "Kinaesonata" and "Greening", she favored a cooler
choreographic style. Though her older choreography was socially conscious and dramatic,
Lewitzky's newer choreography "emphasized pure movement, and her dancers became noted for
their strength, line, elevation, and agility – a tribute to her gifts as a teacher," (Prevots) ... Show

one holds for ones country, creed, family, and friends(dictionary.com). It is remaining faithful to
what you believe in. In King Arthurs time, the knights followed strict rules of chivalry, honor,
bravery, and loyalty. Jacob Black is a Quileute Indian who is part of a legend. Jacob is a half human
who transforms into a wolf during times of anger and fighting. He is only able to be a wolf during
most of his young adult life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It states that a knight has the duty to protect the weak and defenseless and to respect the honor of
women. Jacob protects Renesmee know mater what happens, and he always respects Renesmee and
the rest of the Cullen Family. The Disney/Pixar movie A Bug's Life also reflects loyalty and other
knightly acts. Flik is a worker ant who is also clumsy and a very independent thinker
(www.pixar.com). One day, one of Fliks new inventions goes hay–wire, causing the entire food
supply to collapse and be ruined. This particular ant colony's duty is to feed not only themselves, but
a gang of grasshoppers. But after Flik's mishap, the grasshoppers become angry with not only the
ants, but also the Queen. In return, the Queen and the rest of the ant colony is angry with Flik for
causing them misery. Flik decides to embark on a brave mission to help get a group of "warrior
bugs" to help the colony stick up against the grasshoppers (www.pixar.com). Flik wants to prove
that he is loyal to the Queen and the colony. He proves that he is knightly by fighting for "the
welfare of all," by serving the Queen with "valor and faith," and by obeying the Queens authority
(www.middle–ages.org). Flik may be a small ant but he has the loyalty and commitment to his
colony of a knight. The movie A Bug's Life, and the book Breaking Dawn, are great examples of
how the elements of chivalry, honor, bravery, and

If anyone knew her secret or should I say secret life, they had already put themselves in danger. Bella is the smartest person in the whole high school, she is even graduating a year earlier than her classmates. By day, she is the high school little nerd but by night she is the most deadly mafia leader in the entire United States and holds the title of undefeated champion in illegal car racing. She been mention in all news as "unknown mafia leader at large", has the largest drug shipment, murders, you name it and she done it. The federals only information on this mafia leader is a picture where it shows their left tattooed arm with a green snake throughout their arm. The federals have been searching for the leader for four years but nothing, the mastermind of the operation leaves no clue behind. • 2. Bella Behavior Observation Steve and Art, I need to say some things about Bella's behavior regarding participation in services. I am not happy to do this, but feel it is necessary. Someone needs to have a talk with her; someone other than me. We all agree that it is good to encourage Binghamton University students to attend and participate in Temple Israel services. However, this needs to be in cooperation with the rest of the participants and attendees. The issues with Bella have been occurring for a few weeks, but have become more of a problem recently so I will use the past week as specific examples. I include Bella and the other BU students in my weekly email requesting Shabbat morning participants; last sent on December 11. On December 13, she asked if she could lead Musaf with the full repetition. I already had Geoffrey Brown on the chart for that part. I responded, "Our arrangement with Geoffrey Brown is he leads Musaf and Shacharit on alternating weeks. Thank you for asking." Then Bella asked to lead Pesukei and read Torah. Although Pesukei was open on the chart she received, it had been filled by then. Steve Gilbert ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If she does not get the answer she wants, she will go to someone else. I feel she is being disrespectful and uncooperative. If any of the other BU students have asked to lead part of the service, I try to be accommodating and they accept whatever is decided. All this has made me rather upset and tense. I could not concentrate on leading Pesukei Shabbat morning or during most of the services Friday and Saturday. It was initially nice to have Bella's interest and enthusiasm but she has become aggressive in wanting to get her way. Someone needs to talk with her. In person or on the phone would probably be better than email. That someone is not going to be me. Carol has told Phyllis at least some of the above. I did not include Geoffrey Brown or anyone else on the Ritual Committee in this email. Howard ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Bella Schmit: A Narrative Fiction One afternoon, in Berlin, Germany, Bella Schmit was strolling home from a lonesome, wretched day at her new school. She was walking with her head down kicking up tiny pebbles when she almost stumbled over two petite, fuzzy, green caterpillars. She bent down and they squirmed into her palm where she then raised them up and called, "I shall call you Oscar and Alphonse, and I will love you forever." "What are you up to?" her mother questioned suspiciously. "Nothing, mom," responded Bella as she hid the jar behind her back. Her mom shuffled around to the opposite side of the room. • 5. Review Of Stephenie Meyer 's ' Twilight ' Lena Andersson ENG104 Research Paper Twilight by Stephenie Meyer is a romantic book about two teenagers, a girl named Bella and a vampire named Edward. The two of them fall in love, and Bella is put in danger by a different group of vampires. There have been several different types of criticism towards this book and every criticism is different ; it includes being one hundred percent justifiable to do absolutely anything for the one you love. Others have also said that it was not intended to relate to teen girls, but it actually ended up doing just that. Also, some critics have compared Twilight to Harry Potter in the sense that both of the stories "lie in a dream" (Bethune). Brian Bethune wrote a criticism called "Love at First Bite" which at first compares Stephenie Meyer's Twilight to J.K. Rowlings' Harry Potter. There are various reasons why Bethune believes that Twilight is similar to Harry Potter. He believes that Meyer's and Rowling 's' stories "lie in a dream" (Bethune). This is easy to agree with because Twilight is based on a vampire–friendly romance. This is obviously unrealistic and would never happen in real life. In Harry Potter, the story is based on a warlock who fights off all different kinds of magical and mythical creatures. Evidently, it is easy to figure out that this story also "lies in a dream." Bethune starts to talk about religion which is based on Stephenie Meyer's real life and how her religion is somewhat duplicated in her Twilight ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This strategic orientation can be clearly characterized by a number of factors. * Increase total sales from profit made in countries outside of the home country * Extends current and existing product line into other countries * Organization structure remains more or less the same These characteristics were prevalent in La Bella's original business strategy. Chandeliers were manufactured in Italy and then sold outside of the domestic market. However, due to the numerous economic crises, they were forced to change their strategic orientation. La Bella did not use the global model (standardized products); instead, they moved to a multinational orientation (tailored products). A multinational strategic orientation is implemented when there is a low need for global integration, but a high need for local responsiveness. This orientation can be distinguished by a number of attributes: * A product line that is altered to suit local markets * To target markets that vary between countries * Autonomous * Decision–making is decentralized * Regiocentric or polycentric staffing (employing host–country nationals) It can be observed that these very characteristics contributed to La Bella's failure. Polycentric and regiocentric staffing approaches are often advantageous, as locals understand the local market best; they know local preferences better and can make decisions can perform accordingly ... • 7. Bella Health care india Should Bella Healthcare India take on Project TKO and develop an EKG specifically for the local market? Why or why not? TKO, "Technical Knockout", is single channel EKG, Bella Healthcare India is planning to launch in Indian market. As per my opinion, Bella has many reasons to take up this opportunity. I will categorise these reasons in two broad categories, External and Internal factors. First external factor that affects decision of Bella to take TKO is large population of India with insufficient health care services. India's population is large and growing but healthcare facilities are not growing with the same rate. Also most of the medical facilities of the country are concentrated in urban areas, leaving rural area with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To tackle these issues Bella has defined its third design principle of 'ease–to–use'. This will make TKO weight 2 Kg. or less and one touch operating device so that physicians could handle it with minimum training. Indian villages still face electricity issues and Bella is will provide solution to this problem by giving battery operated device. Bella is addressing issue of unavailability of trained physicians with its fourth design principle 'connectivity'. This design feature will help physician to transmit data wirelessly to cardiac speciality centres and work with general practitioners to diagnose the issue. Thus these four design principles will help Bella to address all the key issues of heart disease diagnosis equipments. In addition to the new wireless data transfer feature, Bella's design team is exploring the possibility of adding DICOM feature in TKO. Even though DICOM feature is not critical in near future, it will help Bella to differentiate its product from GE's similar product and will give upper hand in marketing the device. Now, let's concentrate on internal factors. Bella healthcare India, part of global organisation, has its own strengths, which will lead it to the successful handling of TKO. First strength of the company is its India head Joseph Cherian, who has handled initial set up of Bella India and successfully leaded the production ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. New Moon Essay New Moon by Stephenie Meyer This book was quite suspenseful. While the series is known as being mainly romantically–based, New Moon contains a great deal of mystery. At the beginning, Bella is unwrapping a present while at the house of her boyfriend (who just so happens to be a vampire). His family is there, too, so when she gets a paper cut on her finger and then falls onto a glass table and slices her arms up, it's a disaster. With all that blood, it definitely seems like the vampires would devour her. However, they don't. A few days later, Edward moves away because he believes it's too dangerous for them to be together. This leaves you wondering if he'll ever come back. Then, Bella finds that if she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Things then turn desperate as Edward is slowly pulling away from her. The next part of the book is the part that's always the hardest for me to read. The tone of the middle part is incredibly devastated until Bella meets Jacob. Then a little hope comes through because he's finally getting her happy once again. While she's still in love with Edward, things are better when Jacob is around. A bit of time passes, and then the book gets suspenseful and tense because Bella nearly kills herself by cliff– jumping. Edward thinks that she is actually dead, so he is going to attempt to kill himself, and Bella has to try to rescue him. My favorite quote from the book is said by Bella a few months after Edward has left. She feels that her life has basically ended, and she's spent the past few months in a zombie–like state. The quote is, "Time passes. Even when it seems impossible. Even when each tick of the second hand aches like the pulse behind a bruise. It passes unevenly, in strange lurches and dragging lulls, but pass it does. Even for me." Another quote that gets me every time I think about it is said by Edward after him and Bella are reunited at the end. It is, "Before you, Bella, my life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars– points of light and reason. And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there ... • 9. Mean Girls And Twilight : Film Analysis The premise of both Mean Girls (Mark Waters, 2004) and Twilight (Catherine Hardwicke, 2008) is very similar: awkward girl moves to a new high school where she becomes popular. The construction of popularity in the films underlines a larger cultural understand of what popularity is. Both films create a similar narrative of what goes in to popularity: conventional attractiveness, whiteness, wealth. However, the films treatment of the actualities of being popular and the whether or not it's a worthy goal are disparate. In Mean Girls, the narrative treats popularity as teachable or trainable quality, but one that is, in the end, insignificant to actual life and unreflective of a person's self–worth. In Twilight, popularity is an innate quality that reflective of a person's inner 'specialness'. Further, despite these differences, popularity is shown in as a desirable construct in both films, even though both narratives attempt to undermine that belief. One key factor for popularity in both films is conventional attractiveness. This reflects real world trends, where attractiveness to boys is a crucial component in social status and "is really pretty" was the single most impactful factor in popularity according to a survey of school girls (Duncan and Owens 2011). The desirability is more important than even social intelligence for popularity. The defining personality trait of both Bella of Twilight and Kady of Mean Girls is awkwardness. Bella is exceedingly clumsy, and her opening narration highlighted her social ineptitude, never mentioning any friends she was leaving as she moved (Hardwicke 2008). Similarly, Kady has never gone to school before and comments on her own lack of social knowledge, initially making stilted conversation with her classmates and misunderstanding slang (Waters 2004). However, despite their social awkwardness they are both immediately popular because of their physical attractiveness. In Twilight, Bella manages to attract two different boys before lunch on her first day, and the Cullen's, a group of the most popular kids at school, are all unbelievably gorgeous (Hardwicke 2008). • 10. La Bella Mano Dante Gabriel Rossetti's "La Bella Mano" is an intriguing painting that faithfully contains symbolic objects, intricate detail, and vividness of colour. These elements all reinforce the Pre–Raphaelite goals (Lecture 4). Furthermore, Dante Gabriel Rossetti wrote a sonnet to accompany the piece which adds another layer of meaning in understanding the painting. The "proliferated minute detail across the whole work" is punctuated across the entire canvas. At the bottom left of the painting, there is a wooden object that looks as though a master carpenter chiseled it for the Goddess of the painting. The wooden object's focal point is a fleur–de–lis and stemming from this symbol are intricately woven strands that fill in the rest of the object. Additionally, the patterns that stem from the fleur–de–lis do not seem to have a preordained order to them, which suggests that the carpenter was working ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A few of the intricate details i mentioned previously also are medieval symbols of royalty or coat of arms such as the fleur–de–lis (Almost every House of France) , the double–headed eagle (the Holy Roman Empire, to name one), and the gryphon (the House of Griffin). These signs of nobility reinforce the Goddess' station beside the fact that she is the painting's overall focal point being the largest subject on the canvas and reinforced by her red dress and the mirror that creates an aureole around her head with two maidens attending to her hygiene and accessories. After reading the poem, it becomes clear that there are two types of jewelry both silver and gold. Again there is a symbolic here of two choices, the path of silver or the path of gold. There are so many interpretations of this, but I see the gold as being haughtier and the silver as a humbler approach to living ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Not too long ago, it was even a struggle for women to be able to take on the secondary positions in the workplace– or any work at all. In her book Bella!: Ms. Abzug Goes to Washington, Bella Abzug argued, "the test of whether or not you can hold a job should not be in the arrangement of your chromosomes" (80). Fortunately, in today's day and age it is uncommon for a woman to fail in a job search entirely because of her gender, but in the past that was the case. Society created an idea that females were not good enough to hold their own job, so the duty of providing for the family was left to their husbands. For years, the majority of society did not realize that every individual has their own strengths and weaknesses, and neither men nor women are automatically more qualified than the other. This idea is made clear by author Stephenie Meyer, the author of the Twilight Saga. Throughout the books, Bella Swan is a 17 year old girl who is moving in with her father, out of town. She soon meets the Cullen family, realizes they are vampires, and eventually becomes devoted to one of the males, Edward. During the course of the series, Bella is overly emotional about a variety of things, most of the time she is considered to be overreacting. It is clear that Bella needs help with almost everything she does, she even comes off as the damsel in distress in most of the series. Ever since the beginning of Bella and Edward's relationship the two are almost inseparable, which is why when he decides to end their relationship and leave in the second book, Bella becomes insane. She stares outside for hours on end, and refuses to go anywhere or hang out with her friends. Bella's dad confronts her about her behavior saying, "'you're just... lifeless Bella'" (Meyers, New Moon 95). Clearly, she is overreacting, however she is truly fitting the role of a basic "clingy girlfriend". While emotion is considered a female trait, a lot of people believe that all females overreact to everything, which is exactly what Bella is doing by the way she reacts when Edward breaks up with her. Bella is not good feminist role model because of her overreactions. In addition to her overreactions, Bella is also excessively vulnerable. It seems as though Bella can't do anything without needing help from someone. For example, in the first book, she can't seem to move herself out of the way of an oncoming car, in fact, Edward who is quite a distance away has to rush over to save her. Stephanie Meyer's book series "Twilight" is one of the most popular teenage vampire interpretations. The vampire characters within the movie are metaphors for the teenager. It is common for teenagers to feel isolated from their surroundings and the people around them. The Cullen's in the movie are automatically isolated from the rest of the town because they are the newest citizens and live outside of the town isolated from everyone else. When Bella Swan invited Edward Cullen to come to the beach with her group of friends he declined feeling like he would not be wanted there. One of the characters, Angela, had this to say while they were at the beach, "It was nice that Bella invited Edward, nobody ever does." • 28. Analysis Of ' How A Woman Can Get Hurt ' By Jean Kilbourne "Two Ways a Woman Can Get Hurt", an article by Jean Kilbourne bitterly rags on sex in advertisement. It goes into detail to describe how companies have become increasingly more likely to sell sex in advertisements for products that, in reality, are entirely unrelated. Kilbourne focuses primarily on how this is harmful to society– especially women and children and how they are viewed by men, though men may also be targeted if not nearly as frequently. In a similar article called "Taking a Bite Out of Twilight", Carmen D. Siering shares her disapproval of the popular novel adored by so many: Twilight. Represented by the iconic red apple held in a women's palm with a sinister black backdrop, Twilight is a modern fairytale where the prince belongs to a monstrous society of blood–sucking models, and the princess is your average, plain–Jane highschool girl with a knack for getting into trouble. Siering's opinion is most basically this: Bella is objectified and downgraded in the Twilight series; a character created solely to compliment the plot propelled by male characters. Where the majority of the population sees an aching, beautiful and dangerous romance, Siering sees a controlling relationship and a dull female lead. Kilbourne's article brings to light how Siering's article, directed at Stephenie Meyer's readers, is so accurate with the the recommendation that everyone become more aware of the messages they are absorbing from media as it snakes its way into society's ... • 29. Analysis Of Why Katniss Hate Bella By Berlatsky On Noah Berlatsky's article "Twilight vs Hunger Games: Why Do So Many Grown–Ups Hate Bella" puts me at an interesting prospective on what Berlatsky is trying to say. Berlatsky is a writer for The Atlantic where main point of his article was that this fight between Bella and Katniss might ever not happen due to difference in personalities. In his article, Berlatsky starts by saying how who would win the battle between Bella from Twilight and Katniss from Hunger Games. Berlatsky claims that Bella would get squashed by Katniss if that were to happen. He describes Bella as very weak individual, clumsy and ineffective. At the other hand, Katniss is much smarter, courageous and strong. Then he uses other sources from other writers or bloggers majority ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It showed when the Berlatsky alludes that even though they may dislike each other, "... I think they might understand each other's desires and each others strength"(2). Berlatsky demonstrates in way Bella and Katniss may not be the best of friends, they can understand each other different main desires and their strengths and weaknesses. With that, its a logical reason why maybe Bella and Katniss might not fight each other unless if its for a purpose. Also Berlatsky brought up an alluring point when he said "Masculinity and femininity isn't a duel to the death"(2). What Berlatsky is trying to say is that with Katniss being more on the masculine side and Bella is in more the feminine side, this does not necessarily mean they have to battle to prove who is better. I think it's difficult to see who is better with both characters having two distant characteristics in masculinity and feminism where each has some advantages and disadvantages. I think people have to accept that just because both Bella and Katniss are different in terms of masculinity and femininity, this does not necessarily mean as if to prove who is the better ... • 30. The Stereotypical Gender Ring : Bella Swan 's Indifference... Shania Savastio Professor Mitchell GWS 319–Women and Popular Culture Research Proposal and Thesis October 5, 2015 Entering the Stereotypical Gender Ring: Bella Swan's Passivity vs. Rosalie Hale's Proactivity For my research project I have decided to choose a character from a popular book series, Twilight which was written by Stephenie Meyer. The forbidden love story between a plain human girl and a gorgeous vampire boy sparked the hearts of millions, but the singular character I'm conducting my research on is Rosalie Hale. While Bella Swan, the main character is passive, Rosalie Hale is proactive. This is shown through her avengement of her brutal rape, rescuing her later husband, and speaking her mind frequently about her distrust of Swan throughout the four novels. I was immediately drawn to Rosalie Hale because my thirteen year old self adored Twilight. I happily devoured the books in hours and awaited eagerly till past my bedtime for Breaking Dawn to be released. When I first looked over the project, the book series popped into my mind, bringing back all of my feelings for the novels before. More specifically, Rosalie Hale's character. In the book she is often overlooked and seen as the jealous, stunning snob that just didn't understand the gravity of Bella and Edward's irrevocable love. I thought that, too, until years later when I realized that Rosalie had proven to be the only voice of reason in the novels that will speak out against Bella Swan. The facts that I ... • 32. The Twilight Sag Teenage, Vampire, Romance Twilight Saga: Teenage, Vampire, Romance The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Myer created a massive fan following that grew into a supernatural franchise. The story of Bella and Edward was in the hands of countless teenagers and adults alike, captivating audiences with the classic story of young love, but with a vampire twist. The books were published starting when I was a young teenager, and I was not immune to the charms of a sparkly vampire fighting his desire for love for the sake of her safety. I religious read all four books, a few times, until the hard covers cracked at the edges, and the open books fell open to my favorite parts from being opened for so long. After the books created a sensation, a movie series was created. In a non–surprising fashion, the movies were popular, but as any book lover will tell you about any movie made after a book, the book was better, way better. Reading the story at the time, I ignored critics of the book, swearing by its love story and defending the text as it stood in my world. Re–reading this book as an adult who has continued to read, I came to the realizations that my tastes have evolved over time. I still enjoyed the story during my re–read this past time, but the writing was not as striking; gone was the passion and addiction so deep I could not set the books down. The first time I read Breaking Dawn, I read it straight it twelve hours not stopping for anything. I read from 7pm until 7am, this month reading Twilight, was nowhere ... • 37. Bella Lewitzky Research Paper Bella Lewitzky, in her time, was considered a world–renowned modern dance instructor. Her astounding technique, to engage the core, is still used world wide today. Born in the utopian socialist community of Llano del Rio in the Mojave Desert, her family settled in San Bernardino when she was a child. Dance was of a great interest to Lewitzky; she grew to love the art of dance and attended classes taught by Lester Horton during the 1930's. Soon after beginning dance with Lester, Bella "established herself as a highly charismatic performer with the Horton Dance Group..." (Anderson). In the 1950's Bella left the Horton Dance Group to pursue an independent career and soon after her establishment, she developed a considerable reputation as a dynamic dance teacher. "As a performer, Ms. Lewitzky was a fiery stage personality, Anna Kisselgoff described her in The New York Times in 1971 as "an extraordinary artist with an astounding mastery of technique"," (Anderson). Later for her creations of "Kinaesonata" and "Greening", she favored a cooler choreographic style. Though her older choreography was socially conscious and dramatic, Lewitzky's newer choreography "emphasized pure movement, and her dancers became noted for their strength, line, elevation, and agility – a tribute to her gifts as a teacher," (Prevots) ...
