Desk drawers in classrooms are unnecessary and can cause problems. Students often use desk drawers as trash cans to dispose of snack wrappers and rubbish, which can attract mosquitoes if left too long. Drawers are also used for cheating on tests by hiding answer sheets. Desk drawers are useless for schools that provide lockers for students or use a moving class system, since items could be forgotten when changing classrooms. Schools should prohibit food and drinks in classrooms and provide lockers instead of desks with drawers.

Maybe desk’s drawer is a little thing that not
important. But we think it is something that interest
to talk. Especially in the classroom. So, how much
function of desk’s drawer for you? As we know,
almost school still use desk with drawer in even
classroom. But, we think it can make some problem.
Why?

5. Argument 1
Firstly, desk drawer are often used by student as a trash can.
Students often bring their snacks in the classroom. Then, after
the snack runs out, they enter snack pack into desk drawer
because they think drawer is the nearest place. Not just snack
pack, but also waste paper or rubbish result pencil sharpener.
If the garbages are left too long in the drawer, it can become
mosquito breeding. Of course it would interfere the learning
process and also have an impact for health of students or
teachers.

6. Argument 2
Secondly, desk drawer are often used by
students to do cheating. Students who are not
confident with their test, deliberate put a cheat
sheet into desk drawer. When test, they can
easily see the answer from their cheat sheet
contained in desk drawer.

7. Argument 3
Finally, we think in the current time desk drawer in the
classroom are useless. Especially for school that already
provide lockers for students so desk drawer are useless.
And also espesially for schools that have moving class
system. Because we think if the desk drawer was used by
students to store their book or school equipment, it will be
very risky students forget their book or school equipment
in the drawer and leaving it when moving class.

8. Recommendations
We think school must to make rule that
students are prohibited to bring food and
beverage into classroom. Also, school may
provides lockers for students or school use
folding writing chair. Folding writing chair will
be more practice.
