1. Close up
• Close up – this camera
shot is often used to
portray a characters
emotion within a
sense.
• It can also focus all
attention to a
particular scene.
2. Extreme Close-Up
• Extreme close ups are
used to show the
audience a certain
point that is going on in
the scene.
• This shot can show a
reaction or emotion
within the scene to
make it very
dramatically.
3. Establishing Shot
• An Establishing shot is
a used to show where a
scene is going to take
place.
• This causes the
audience to be able to
establish where a
scene set by a single
picture.
4. Long Shot
A long shot is a shot in
which shows the
characters full body.
This shot can be used to
set the scene, a bit like
an establishing shot.
5. Over the shoulder
• An over the shoulder shot
is where the camera is
angled over a characters
shoulder in such a way that
you can see another
character, these are most
commonly used in scenes
which include a
conversation between
important characters.
