Optimizing tactics
Main landing page should display the nav bar, the current promotions for signing up, like
free ipad, practicum placement and the contact for more information form. Displaying
only contact form to fill out will make getting more information simple, without much
thought. Page should only be the size of the window, scrolling for so much other
content is fine for other pages, not main page. No slide shows, just text content
including primary keywords, page title with keyword , meta tags, meta descriptions. The
current state of the slide show is trying to demonstrate programs available but only
shows one or two and very fast. This will stop the Google robot from crawling any
further. This should be removed to make crawling through nav bar and so on easy and
effective.
Optimize main landing page with rich keywords,
better marketing approach by displaying only current
promotion and contact form, encouraging them to fill
out form in order to find out more, too much flash
media, images and random content all over page.
This will just cause confusion, resulting in loss of
interest and bouncing from page to search else
where.
6. Keywords, meta tags, meta description
content
6
Use Main title keywords ; Brighton Career College | Vocational Training
School | AutoCAD Training on each page, create more meta tags and
descriptions for all landing pages.
Use the keyword tools in add words for all landing pages:
About us programs, admissions, student services, blog, tuitions and fees,
events and contact us. Optimize each page with primary keywords, meta
descriptions, tags and create more rich, new content !
Other keywords used or suggested
Job interview
Career planning
Advice
Programs
Vancouver
Career resources
Funding
Find a job
education
8. Keep up to date and consistent with blog,
media content.
8
Make sure to display a link to Brighton Buzz blog on each page, creating new blog
content on a consistent weekly basis. Make sure to use keywords in blog posts creating
interesting content, up to date information, up to date news and events not just for
Brighton college, but community events to keep them coming back for more
information. Make the posts fun and interactive with images and success stories. Share
blog posts to the twitter account and Facebook page. Monitor LinkedIn, twitter,
Facebook daily, keeping on top of responding to posts and tweets, answer questions
and address all issues or comments.
Create pinterest or Flickr account for posting current images, displaying different events
and stories.
Letting too much time go by between adding content or updating page status or post
shows lack of interest, so will potential students move along to a more dynamic, upbeat
career college web site.
9. You tube
9
You tube currently has not had content added for 4 months. The you tube page
needs more design and some more videos uploaded and displayed on the blog
Add media content, such as this to the
you tube channel, displaying on the blog
as a post with content including
keywords and display again on Facebook.
If content is important , it will be seen
and share by more if it is posted on all
social media networks. Post on LinkedIn
as well
New design for you tube. Update
design and upload current media
files.
10. Creating as many social media profiles and consistently monitoring
all of them on a daily basis will drive more traffic towards the web
marketing and internet programs. By tweeting up to date marketing
tips and by keeping up with posting social media content on the blog
and media networks and keeping you tube up to date shows and
expertise in this growing field and will bring many more students to
sign up for these programs.
10
Strategies!
11. Social media schedule
Monday – Friday
11
• Check Facebook and twitter at least once a day for new followers,
questions or posts to reply to
• Check blog for replies once a week
• Have one blog post with new prepared content ready, add one blog post
per week. Strongly suggest doing this on Wednesday. Middle of the
week.
• Check linked in at least twice a week, update status or reply to comments
• Post any current video content immediately upon submission and
approval , post directly to you tube and be sure to include in upcoming
blog post
• post images to FLIKr immediately or pinterest ,or save for weekly blog
post
• Post all relevant content to Google+ two to three times per week.
• Tweet, post, share promotional content on Facebook and twitter when it
becomes available , re post or rewet two or three times a week. If
content is promotional. Content disappears fast and is often missed
12. 12
Promote programs by adding links in posts to the contact
form, asking if they ever thought of this career, one is starting
soon, get your free information now……read what our students
currently enrolled have to say………get a free ipad mini …..
post industry demand for current job industries and provide
program information , sign up info and free information. Post
job demand and industry demand in blog posts and post stats
on Facebook, twitter.
Encourage existing students to contribute to blog posts and
social media content.
Start a forum and FAQ page.
Post regular reminders of upcoming start dates, IE; DON’T
FORGET TO SIGN UP FOR THE ……. NOW…..IT STARTS ON ………
ENGAGE AND INTERACT
13. 13
Use Google Analytics…..
• Insert tracking code into all pages
• Generate regular reports for traffic source
• Search terms
• Page views and visits
• Set goals
• Utilize the many tools analytics have to offer
• Utilize the many tools add words have to offer
14. 14
Promotional
material
This is the older ad no longer used for this promotion, I
cannot find it on the website on any page. There are
posters up on the walls of the school where few if any
prospective students will ever see them!
Don’t be afraid:
promote! promote!
promote!
15. 15
Promotions and
advertising
Again, anything new, any promotions, any content that grabs your
attention, these should all be set in a program like Hoot suite for
scheduled status posts, tweets and so on.
The banner that hasn’t changed is the only online add. It’s more
effective with promotional offers or exciting facts. It shouldn’t be
new and interesting content as much as possible. This will keep them
thinking about it, subliminal messaging, get more attention and come
to mind more often.
The same add posted everywhere, never changing no promotional
adds that pop out will just cause someone to forget just as fast as it
passed them by.
16. 16
There is no harm in repeating content when there are
promotions, exciting adds , deals or time sensitive product .
If it is not promoted, It will just go unnoticed. Putting it out
there for others to share, this is how we market!
