Summary
Through the Multicast function, the packets of video and audio streams can be simultaneously
sent to a selected group of recipients on different IP ranges besides those on the same IP
range. To perform this function, it is required that the router has the Multicast Pass Through
function, and it must be enabled.
Example
This example illustrates the steps to perform the Multicast function on different IP ranges
within the same LAN.

2. Connection
1. On Linksys RV042 Router, connect one of the LAN ports to Host 2 (e.g. LAN Port 1), and
connect the Internet Port to D-Link DES-1008D Hub (e.g. Port WAN1), as shown in the
picture below.
2. On Linksys RV042 Router, enable the Multicast Pass Through function in Firewall, as
shown in the picture below.

3. 3. The Multicast packet sent from 192.168.0.104 can be received at 10.0.0.101, as shown in
the picture below.
