New technological advances like mobile apps, drones, and virtual reality can help the construction industry improve productivity, increase worksite safety and create more environmentally-friendly buildings. But that's not all construction companies successfully use construction technology for.
2. INTRODUCTON TO CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY.
Construction is one of the branches of civil engineering. it is concerned directly with common people,
as everyone wants to have beautiful dwellings and buildings built long ago in history, but the
difference is in technology as early buildings were simple and just for purpose of shelter.
So many years ago, people are living in wooden houses and cave there is no concept of a proper living
system.
Concept construction technology starts in 1900.
Before 1900 there is heritage construction
1900-1949 legacy construction
1950-1979 conventional construction
1979-1990 engineering construction
1990-2002 integrated construction
2002-2019 composed engineering construction.
3. 1.3-TYPES OF CONSTRUCTION:
There are two types of construction:
Girder tier construction
RCC construction (Reinforced Cement Concrete).
GIRDER CONSTRUCTION:
A girder is a support beam used in construction. It is the main horizontal support of a structure that
supports smaller beams. Girders often have an I- beam cross section composed of two load-
bearing flanges separated by a stabilizing web, but may also have a box shape, Z shape, or other
forms.
In the girder tier roof, we have load-bearing walls and DPC (damp proof course) base.
4. RCC (REINFORCED CEMENT CONCRETE):
RCC column is a vertical structural member which transfers loads from the beam and slab directly to
the underneath soil. That means an entire building stands on columns. Most building failure occurs
not only for design fault but also of poor construction practices. Therefore, it is essential to know the
construction procedure of the RCC column appropriately.
RCC columns are mainly constructed in four different stages, which are
1. Column Layout Work.
2. Column Reinforcement Work.
3. Column Formwork and
4. Pouring Concrete.
In RCC we don’t have load bearing wall. RCC is used as a structural member wherever bending of
the member is required, like in footing, column, beam, lintel, stairs, etc.
