6. Recommendation letter
To Whom It May Concern:
It is my privilege to prepare this letter of recommendation for the Headquarters Internship Program for Mr. McKenzie
Lee. Our office is a Level 8 and I have been a Financial Advisor with the firm for 14 years. When McKenzie joined our
team we had a CEI score of 383 and now we are at 444. McKenzie joined our branch office as a BOA on-call in May of
2013. He has been an excellent hire and I am very impressed with his work ethic and office production.
McKenzie is extremely professional and personable with our clients. He has a very special way about himself that puts
people at ease and makes them feel important. He is always quick to volunteer his services to get the job done.
Some of the traits and qualities that stand out in my mind to describe McKenzie are the following:
1) Extremely Hard Working
2) Dedicated and Responsible
3) Conscientious
4) Loyal
5) Ethical
6) Punctual
7) Considerate and a good Listener
8) Intelligent
9) Entrepreneurial Minded
10) Self Motivated
11) Kind Hearted
12) Independent Thinker
13) Dependable and Determined to Succeed
McKenzie has basically put himself through college with little to no financial help from his parents. He has had to work
several jobs to finance his higher education all while carrying a full load of classes.
This is the kind of student I would highly recommend giving an internship opportunity. More importantly, if Ted Jones
ever had a chance to meet McKenzie personally, he would clearly understand that his money was well invested! The
other thing I believe Mr. Jones would recognize is the great appreciation McKenzie would exhibit for being given the
opportunity to become an intern for Edward Jones. He never takes anything for granted and is always so appreciative.
He is a wonderful, hard working, ethical young man.
I am confident that McKenzie is going to be extremely successful in life, both personally and professionally. I am also
confident that there are many well deserving students, but McKenzie is one of a kind. He is so well rounded for his age.
I cannot say enough good things about his determination, dedication and most importantly his potential. This candidate,
in my opinion, should be considered heavily for the Headquarters Internship Position.
I have completed 2 Good Knight plans and have 15 career hires over the last 14 years. I am a pretty good judge of
character. I would even consider doing a Good Knight with McKenzie when he is ready. I am sure that McKenzie will
follow one of two career paths. He will either be a Financial Advisor or a Certified Financial Analyst. Either way, I
think he will be a great addition to the Edward Jones community. Please contact him for an interview. He will not
disappoint.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this fine young man, McKenzie Lee.

7. Recommendation Letter
February 9, 2014
Dear Sir/Madam:
I am writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of Mr. McKenzie P. Lee who is applying for
a scholarship.
Mr. Lee is one of my best students. He has consistently demonstrated intellectual depth, an
ability to comprehend and analyze information and think on his feet. In my history of Western
Civilization class, I emphasize economic and monetary history of the West and attempt to
relate it to the business environment and perspectives in America today. McKenzie’s
knowledge and interest in those areas is commendable.
McKenzie is responsible, motivated and goal-oriented: he always tries to go two steps further
then the assignment requires. He is serious and enthusiastic about all he learns and is a
positive contributor during the discussions that often follow the lectures. McKenzie is a
persuasive speaker and a very eloquent writer; his essays are a pleasure to read. Not only is
he a straight “A” student, he is a professor’s dream!
Mr. Lee is very polite, respectful, and patient with others. He never misses classes and he is
never late for class. He takes his education very seriously, and I am confident that he will do
everything possible to make her dream come true – to become a successful businessman.
I recommend Mr. McKenzie P. Lee for the scholarship without any reservations. I am confident
that he will exceed all expectations as finance professional and as a future business leader.
