Onset of deafness
• When did you lose your hearing? Were you born deaf?
• ?
Cause of hearing loss
• What caused your hearing loss? ( You may have to interview your
parents.)
Family ties
• Are any other members of your families D/deaf or hard of hearing?
Family support
• Does your family support ASL? Do you think they should?
• Do you feel that you can communicate freely with your family?
Speech Therapy
• How long have you had speech therapy? Like/Dislike?
Listening devices
• Tell us what you use to access sound. Do you like/dislike?
School
• What are some challenges that hearing people do not understand?
Tips
• What are some changes that teachers, and schools could make, that
would allow you to have equal access to information?
• Think about : the hallways, cafeteria, library, clinic, guidance office,
classroom, field trips etc.
Let your voice be heard!
• Think of other things you want your school to understand about
hearing loss.
