Once cancer spreads throughout the body, it is difficult to control without causing collateral damage. However, nanoparticles could potentially create cancer-killing proteins on demand in specific body sites to treat widespread cancers, without harsh side effects of chemotherapy. This new therapy using nanoparticles has shown promise in mice but must still be tested on humans to see if it improves outcomes for people with dangerous, widespread cancers.

2. • Once a cancer is widespread through out a persons
body, it can be very hard to control.
• It’s hard to kill because it could cause too much collateral
damage. Collateral means through out the entire body.
• Cancer is widespread problem in many areas of the
world. Every body will be some how impacted by it at
some point in their life.

3. • These nanoparticles could potentially make cancer killing
agents on demand.
• They are very, very tiny.
• Despite their size, they can make a big impact. They
contain a mixture of biological machinery needed to
make proteins based on DNA sequences.
• Using ultraviolet light, we can trigger production of this
new DNA.

4. • Being that these nanoparticals would be placed in
specific sites within the body and work naturally along
with it, it would make it so there were no harsh side
effects, like in the chemical cancer drugs.

6. • This new therapy has only been tested and proven on
mice- the real challenge is to test it on humans and hope
they benefit.
• If they were to benefit humans it would be a huge
improvement for humans who have
widespread, dangerous cancers.
• Doctors say the outlook is bright and now the true test
will be to do a trial and find out if it works!
