Our vision is a world where science is seen as a fundamental
part of our culture and society.
Our mission is to support, grow and diversify the community of
people who are interested and involved in science. We will
give them a platform to access and enjoy science and
strengthen their influence over science’s direction and place in
society.

Range of programmes: many aimed at influencing public perceptions and understanding of science; not covered here.
These programmes are aimed at schools and colleges.
Range of activities for schools and communities, under a big celebratory banner.
We coordinate national activities e.g. Nature’s Calendar
Grants available for schools to do activities. Schools poster competition. Activity packs
~30,000 Awards a year. Active in around a third of all secondary schools in any one year.
Discovery, Bronze, Silver, Gold
Silver/Gold – researchers can also support CREST celebration/certificate awarding events, with assessment and judging – and build up to being a Project Mentor
Discover/Bronze – offer to help run an activity e.g. Community Garden challenge
Offer to help run CREST Star activities in your local primary school
Free and paid-for activities available for schools
Activities also suitable for other settings eg Cubs & Brownies; community fairs; family festivals; etc
If you run your own activities, consider linking them to the CREST Star scheme – adds credibility to your activity
For all schools work, encourage you to sign up as a STEM Ambassador with STEMNET
