The Computer And The Computers

The computer is one of the most used electronics in everyday life. The internet and the computer
connects one place to another, Japan to Alaska, Canada to South America and so on. What is never
thought of is the programs that go into the websites that are used on a regular basis, Facebook,
twitter and Instagram. Without them there would be a complete disconnect between every continent,
country, and city. No outside information would cycle in or out and trade of any kind, be it
information or the discovery of more resources, would be reduced to a snail's pace. The same could
be said for the information that doctors that work in laboratories and architects that build homes use,
without the different computer programs and the internet, the services they provide would basically
become non–existent. Computer programs are very important to prevent loss of life, such as the
programs used in hospitals for life support or programs used to determine whether or not there is
electricity going through a downed powerline. For example, at Ameren there is a program that is
ranked as a class 1 system which means that if field employees didn't have access this program it
could lead to loss of life (Boyd). Becoming a computer programmer has many benefits such as
compensation, job satisfaction, and telecommuting, but every job has cons some of which are the
current job outlook, health hazards and general computer security.

Building A Computer And The Computer
Building a computer
When people hear that some people build their own computer, they automatically decide that it must
be some very challenging task that requires a wizard of all things electronic. I will demonstrate
otherwise, by starting with what parts to purchase for a good computer tailored to what is being
planned on being done with it. Be it playing games, video–editing, or just simple internet browsing.
Moving onward to an almost as essential step as putting it together: what tools are going to be
needed before we begin the actual assembly process. As one can most likely deduce it does not
matter how much is spent or what parts are purchased; if the tools to assemble it are not gathered,
getting nowhere is all that is going to get ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The CPU or central processing unit is what executes the programs. It is also where a majority of the
money that is spent is going. Next, we are going to procure a motherboard which, in a sense,
connects a majority of the other components together so that they can work together. RAM (random
access memory) is next on the list. Whatever data is in operation at the time is going to be stored on
the RAM so that it can be quickly accessed. The amount one gets should be decided on what is
being planned on doing with it if just browsing two to four gigabytes if fine, but if editing or coding
is planned eight or more should be purchased. A power supply is, as you can probably deduce, what
powers the computer itself. Think about this: what happens if you try to start a car with no battery?
Well, the same thing is going to happen to a computer should we have decided it was a bright idea
not to get one or install it. Now, how are we going to plan to fit all the cool things that are going to
be downloaded once we get the computer up and running? By getting a hard drive. It is where all of
the crucial data is going to be stored. We are going to put all of this in whichever computer case that
the user has chosen. These are all the parts necessary for an average browsing and minimal intensive
program build.
Although, should one decide that a gaming or very intensive computer is necessary a few extra parts
can and should be purchased. For example: a

Laptop And Tablet Computers : Computers
Computers are ubiquitously in the world today, used by practically everyone; it is a device that a
majority of people cannot live without. Used by all, the young, the elderly, for work or just for
entertainment. In today's world they are two different types of computers that are really popular,
they are: laptop and tablet computers. While both shares exceptionally close similarities like
portability and both are capable of doing about the same task with inadequate limitations. In a day to
day operation they are fairly different. The major difference lies within their uses, laptops are mainly
used as a compact portable desktop, while tablets are used mainly for entertainment or amusement
purposes. No one really knows what the future holds, but at the pace that technology is growing, that
line is now becoming blurred and I 'm guessing that in the future there is not going to be a
comparison between the two. One of the most important distinctions between the two is that of
suitability, laptops are used for more of the serious work, and while tablets are also capable of doing
the same; they are not generally used for the same purposes. Laptops are predominantly used when
writing a paper or article doing a presentation, writing programs, or browsing the internet. A laptop
is capable, in the sense of power, speed and convenience. Whereas tablets on the other hand is
predominantly used at home for browsing the internet, app gaming, listening to music or reading a
book. Electing

Computer Assisted Education: Computer Assisted Language...
1.INTRODUCTION
The abbreviation CALL means Computer Assisted Language Learning. Recent years have shown an
explosion of interest in using computers for language teaching and learning. The role of computers
in language instruction has now become an important issue confronting large numbers of language
teachers throughout the World. No doubt, computers make excellent teaching tools and computer
technology has also contributed to language teaching and learning. Especially in teaching languages
in any aspect, vocabulary, grammar, composition, pronunciation, or other linguistic and pragmatic
communicative skills.
In this respect, this paper aims to give information about computer assisted language learning.
Firstly, the relationship between technology and language learning will ... Show more content on

In this system, students may find out about his concerns through software on education by using
computer. In this type of education, a student may gain from what computer offers to the extent that
his skills in computer use allows for. He may have simulations, remote education, internet learning,
etc. In today's computers, there is one way message. And students are limited by what this message
offers. Computer is a vital requirement of computer supported learning, computer assisted
education, remote learning and internet learning. Some research in this area indicate that computers
have positive effect on learning. (Alacapınar,2006;Aksin,2006)
One of the most essential advantages of the expansion of CALL is that language teachers don't feel
bound grammar practise anymore as the main goal of computer use in the language classroom. The
current towards communicative teaching with computers is clearly expanding. The vocabulary

Computer Ethics : The Computers And The Internet
The computers and the Internet is one of the most technological advances that has happened in the
twentieth century. The public has in a greater way gained access and information, and the gap that
exists between technology and intellect of individuals is getting thinner. As society utilizes
technology for more purposes many more ethical concerns have arisen. The enhancing use of
technology has given way for unethical activities that encompasses violation of privacy and other
illegal purposes, to crop up. Individuals are not all honest and as we see all do not to adhere to the
ethical standards of behavior when it comes to technology.
Several computer users keep a large amount of their information on their computer systems. Most
communications are also done via email, as well as other messaging services. Today, financial
transactions are done online such as banking, bill pay and making payments for purchases. In
addition, the use of social media is also on the rise. As a result of this, hackers and other intruders
have an opportunity to access information and use this information in illegal ways. According to
Tecopedia, "Computer ethics deals with the procedures, values and practices that govern the process
of consuming computing technology and its related disciplines without damaging or violating the
moral values and beliefs of any individual, organization or entity" (Techopedia, n.d.).

Computers And The Modern Home Computer
HOME COMPUTERS
D esktop computers were first developed on two fronts, Word Processing and Calculations.
Although the modern home computer can do both now with ease it wasn't always like this.
Word Processors were first designed to replace the classic typewriter, IBM coined the term "Word
Processor" in the late 60's. The first word processors still had to print the text before it could be
edited. Later in the 70's several companies were building various types of hardware based word
processors; they had small displays and limited editing capabilities. These new machines begun to
replace typewriters in offices in the early years, and started to replace household typewriters a few
years later. (Web.stanford.edu, 2014)

Musicians can make music with various music packages.
The modern professional can work from home, making presentations, preparing websites,
spreadsheets and editing documents. These can be sent directly to their work computer or saved on a
USB Flash Drive ready to be taken to the office.
Some people use spreadsheets to work out the home finances to keep track of wages in and bills that
are paid.
There are websites like YouTube where you can watch videos about absolutely anything. Pranks,
comedy, music videos to educational and instructional content. Music and radio can be accessed
through various sites and applications such as Spotify and BBC Radio.
Home computers are used to send movies or TV programs onto the TV, either streamed from places
like Netflix or pre downloaded.
Communication is a must, you can use Facebook or other social sites to text, video call, share
pictures to anyone connected to your account from anywhere in the world to everywhere in the
world. Skype is also used to make video calls but Skype can call real world phones as well.
Basic games are widely played on desktops PC's. You can play many different types of games on a
home PC, as the home PC is easily upgraded you can continue to keep playing the latest titles that
are released. (further details in the Games Machines section)

Computer Simulation And Computer Programming
A long time ago, when I used computer for the first time. I played a computer game called Logo in
3rd grade, which inclined me towards computer. The first day we tried the program, we had trouble
actually moving the darned triangle on the screen. We were supposed to draw a geometric shape
with the little triangle character, which the teacher called a "turtle". Movement was slow and
unwieldy. We took turns to type in step–by–step commands, such as "rotate 90" or "pen up". But the
question is who was drawing it, which fascinates me. The teacher answered it is microcomputers to
draw beautiful, creative art. The terms microcomputer, processors etc. made me crazy for computer.
Few areas of my education have stimulated me to think as much as my undergraduate courses in
Discrete Structures, Computer graphics, Neural networks, System Programming, Microprocessor,
Compiler construction and design, Artificial Intelligence, Algorithms design and analysis, Theory of
Computation and Computer Programming. Here are innovations that keep evolving not only
technically but also hold infinite scope for creativity and logic. I feel a similar sense of exhilaration
when I see my own code run successfully. It is this feeling, which till date, drives me to not give up
on even the toughest of problems. And it is this love for programming, combined with my desire to
dig deeper into the working of various applications and technologies, which propels me to apply for

=29
Thus, the decimal equivalent of Signed–magnitude representation of the given number is –29.
For b)
Since the MSB is 1 that represents the given number in binary when represented as Signed–2's
complement is negative and the binary conversion follows as above and the decimal equivalent is –
(29+1) = –30. Negative binary number in Signed–2's complement number is always added 1 to its

Computer And Computer Science
In today's society, computers and computer science play a large role in everyday life whether it be at
work, at school or during personal time. In this paper the history of the computer, the science of
them and its incorporation into school will be explored. The topic that the exploration will start with
is the history of the Computer and computer science between 1936, starting with Alan Turing and
his Universal Turing Machine, leading through Bell Laboratory and all the advances through and
into present day. This will lead into the connection between the computer and education and how
education was changed with the incorporation of computers. The final part explains the problems
that has surrounded computers and the study of computer science since their creations and how the
solutions were formed over the years and how they continue to change the face of computer science,
like the first models being as large as small buildings or a more recent issue of the limited diversity
of computer science. Without computers and computer science, schooling today would be very
much different than it is today. Computers have an extensive history in education and the goal of
this paper is to present that information. In 1936 one the first concept of a computer was developed
by Alan Turing, the Universal Turing Machine(UTM). Before Turing, there were only theories about
computing machines that could do simple calculations but there were not any functioning models.

Computer Technology and Pharmacy Over the past 40 years, information technology has had a
major impact on the working lives of millions of people. Many industries have embraced computer
technology because of the benefits of automated information processing. More importantly,
Computers is a major part of our every day activities and it would be devastating if it was taking
away because everything we do in some way requires a use of a computer. Some of the examples of
computers that we use in today's society are cellphones, PDA's, Tablets, laptops, etc. Also,

complex major, where it requires so much knowledge and understanding. As a student in the
educational system, Pharmacy can be a rigorous major. The required courses for Pharmacy are
Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Math, English, Physical Education, Sociology or Psychology, History,
Pharm 101, Oral Communication, CSC 120, and etc. Pharmacy is a career where it is high in
demand. Many areas in the United States need a huge percentage of recent graduates to fill the
positions. There are many jobs pharmacist are capable of being such as a general hospital
pharmacist, a community pharmacist, a nuclear pharmacist, and etc.
The Importance of Computers in Pharmacy
First, computer databases for data about pharmaceuticals, and therapeutic treatment all in all, are
utilized inside of drug stores. These database frameworks permit pharmacy staff to discover data
about any potential clashes or human services issues in an endorsed treatment, and data about the
points of interest of any specific prescription the pharmacist needs to know more about. This data
may incorporate fixings and potential impacts and also examine and find information.
Currently PCs are utilized as a part of pharmaceutical commercial ventures, doctor 's facilities and in
different offices for medication data, training, assessment, investigation, solution history and for

Most people think of computers as mundane tools for completing daily tasks. But they are also a
central part of exciting new technologies for artists including musicians. As computers improve and
become faster and more powerful, they are becoming as integral to a musician's work as any
instrument. Over the years, musicians have struggled to use the computer as an integrated tool, as
working with audio places huge demands on the machine. This often resulted in problems such as

The use of this technology in the classroom has allowed students to play a song and see it instantly
displayed on the screen. With the new wireless MIDI, students can interact with the computer via a
keyboard from anywhere in the classroom. Today, there are also MIDI technologies for guitars,
violins, saxophones, and even trumpets. A common problem for musicians today is choosing the
right audio interface. There are PCI cards and stand–alone boxes available. One has to choose
between USB or firewire ports, and how many inputs and outputs will be needed. For use with a
high quality condenser microphone, the device should have built in 48–volt phantom power.
Another choice are the depth and sample rates available for recording quality. CD quality is 16 bit at
44.1kHz , but much higher rates are possible. Certain interfaces are fine for single track recording,
but others might work better to record several instruments at the same time (Walker, 2004).
Professional musicians use the computer for a variety of applications. They use the mobility of the
laptop to compose songs on the road in hotel rooms and on tour buses. They use the desktop
machines at home to record all or part of a CD, saving costs substantially. Computers are used live
on stage to run backing audio tracks, light cues, and multimedia shows, among other uses. Musical
notation is easy on the computer and it is now possible to print

Importance Of Learning Computers
What is a computer and why it is essential to learn about computers today?
A computer can be defined as a "machine that manipulates data according to a list of instructions"
(Oxford). According to Webster dictionary a computer is defined as "a programmable usually
electronic device that can store, retrieve, and process data" (Merriam–Webster). Whether it be a
laptop, desk top, tablet or phone, it is essential to learn about computers in order to function in the
21st century. Computers are found everywhere in society. They make locating and processing data
much easier and efficient. Computers allow entities such as hospitals or businesses to process
information rapidly with the click of a button. Computers allow information to be transferred from
one city to another in an instant. The internet, phone, watch, printer and even some homecare are all
run by a computer.
If someone in today's society does not understand how to operate the computer they more than
likely will not be able to maintain a job, or even complete basic functions within our society.
Computers are essential items in today's culture and used worldwide as a tool for effective
communication and processing of data.

INTRODUCTION
Looking through the various topics of which to write a paper on, I came across computer
engineering. For as long as I can remember I have had a fascination with computers. When I was
seven years old, I came across a cube shaped object at my grandparent's house. The object was
called a computer, specifically an Apple Emac. My grandpa told me about all the interesting things
this computer could preform. From then on, I was fixated on using the computer. Every time I went
to my grandparent's house, I asked if I could play on the computer. From then on, my fascination for
computers only grew exponentially. Beginning my research, I already knew the ... Show more

They used a variety of people to try to create the first known digital computer. The computer was
calle ABC, which stands for Atanasoff–Berry Computer ("History of Computing"). John Vincent
Atanasoff was a former professor around the time he created his this computer, but he was physics
and mathematics professor. He needed to find someone that could connect all the wires and to make
sure he did not electrocute himself while building the computer ("History of Computing"). He then
met a professor while walking along campus one day. This professor was a electrical engineering
professor named Harold W. Anderson. Talking with him Atanasoff told Anderson about this
computer the wanted to build, and what type of student he would need and Anderson replied, " I
have your man: Cliff Berry "( "History of Computing"). This then began the process of making the
worlds first digital computer. The machine they built would not be recognizable compared to todays
computers.
The ABC looked nothing like today's computers: It was the size of a big desk, weighed 750 pounds,
and featured rotating drums for memory, glowing vacuum tubes, and a read/write system that
recorded numbers by scorching marks on cards ("History of Computing"). The term computer soon
took off, and engineers all over the world took to designing their own digital computer. The next big
step that engineers had to figure out how to make computers talk. To get a computer to communicate

The Computer Of Computer Technology
Since the 1980 's, the growth of the technology sector has been exponential. The introduction of the
personal computer (PC) was the true catalyst for the growth in popularity of computer technology.
With this introduction also came the growth in popularity of being a computer scientist. The code
used to write the software for these personal computers was brand new and easy to use. What made
it easy to use was the fact that the computer code for the PC was very similar to the English
language; whereas, previous computers used punch cards as a way to program them.. This change
was revolutionary because it allowed anyone to learn how to program a computer. This, coupled
with the major computer advancements occurring in the United States, such as the internet, created
the idea that becoming a computer scientist almost guaranteed you a job. At the time, this was true.
The idea still is mostly true, however, many computer science jobs, usually Information Technology
(IT) and other entry level jobs that involve programming, have been moved overseas. This shift to
outsourcing is not very widespread as some people might think, but it could become widespread
with the increase in quality of life and job availability in other countries. The outsourcing, while
currently not a major issue, does have very real consequences for the future. Such consequences
include lack of job availability for college graduates in the United States and, as a result, an increase
in unemployment. Another

Computer systems analysts are popular careers due to the evolution of new technology. There will
always be a need for a systems analyst to help merge technology with business (Ku, 2014, pg. 33).
"A computer systems analyst studies, organizes, designs, and maintains information systems to aid
organizations function more efficiently and effectively" (Ku, 2014, pg. 32). Focusing on designing
and organizing information, helps create a better understanding of the overall project or concept.
The world of technology is full of genius people that create advancements towards something even
greater. IT jobs including computer systems analysts', shows a trend of rising popularity with a 22%
growth through the year 2020 which is higher than the national average (Thibodeau, 2012, pg. 2).
Computer system analysts play an important role in any business. An aspect of computer systems
analyst job role that is overlooked is training users to properly use the system that they built. The
types of systems can vary depending on the requirements from the company. The computer system
analysts' job is to determine what the company wants to do and utilize computers to incorporate a
system that will do the process in the most effective way possible. The concept must be broken
down in to steps and placed in various charts and diagrams to break it down even further (Career

Human Computer Interaction : Computer Interface
Human – Computer Interface
The Human–Computer Interaction, as defined by Margret Rouse, "HCI (human–computer
interaction) is the study of how people interact with computers and to what extent computers are or
are not developed for successful interaction with human beings (Rouse. 2005)." As the need for
computer interaction increased, better means of interacting with computer software became a
necessity. The original human–computer interaction involved punch cards, and switches, then
programmers had to use machine language known as coding, then command prompts and finally
Graphical User Interface (GUI). Graphical User Interfaces make it easier and more comfortable for
users to interact with software products.
The Human–Computer Interface for Microsoft Word and Visio is the introduction of the Office
Fluent Ribbon. The Office Fluent Ribbon is a type of GUI. This interface, introduced in Office 2007
organizes similar commands in groups on the Ribbon. From left to right the groups are determined
by the order of importance. To reduce the clutter only a few tabs are shown, other contextual tabs
can be accessed by clicking on the appropriate object. The Ribbon is the result of research and user
testing. This enabled Microsoft to produce a design that made commands easier to find. One of the
main advantages of the Ribbon is that it consolidates, in one place, those tasks or entry points that
used to require menus, toolbars, task panes, and other UI components to display. This way,

IT
IBM has been a major innovator of computer and computer related products during this century and
the last. Before IBM it was C–T–R. Herman Hollerith founded this Tabulating Machine Company in
1896. Hollerith received the first patents for his electric Tabulating Machine in 1889. In 1911 a man
by the name of Charles F. Flint, a trust organizer, oversaw the merging of Herman Hollerith's
Tabulating Machine company and two other companies the Company scale Company of America
and the International Time recording Company. The three companies merged into one company
called Computing–Tabulating–Recording company or C–T–R. C–T–R sold many different products

In 1964 IBM developed system 360 a family of computers. This was the world first family of
computers with software and hardware. IBM's researcher Robert H. Dennard invented DRAM
memory in 1966. DRAM was a new kind of memory chip for computers that helped get the ball
rolling for the computer industry. This memory chip was the core of the computer industry and still
effects today's computer business. In 1980 IBM representatives met for the first time with
Microsoft's Bill Gates to talk about writing the operating system for the new computer that IBM was
coming out with. This new personal computer was all hush–hush. IBM had already made a dent in
the personal computer market with the IBM 1500, which was pretty successful. This new personal
computer had an all–new operating system that was at the time top of the line.
During my research I have realized that IBM has made a great global footprint in the technology
industry. There are so many different things that I could tell you about the early success of IBM I
couldn't even write about all of it. IBM is a fascinating company that has over 100 years of history
and there success is unheard of. Competing companies really have no chance because of the level of
innovation and research that goes into their technology. Currently IBM's chairman, president and
chief executive officer is Virginia "Ginni" Rometty. Mrs. Rometty has a bachelors of Science degree

Abstract
The development, implementation, and maintenance of ISs constitute a large and growing part of the
cost of doing business; protecting these resources is a primary concern. Managers and users at all
levels play a major role in helping organizations achieve the positive benefits of IS. These people
must also take the lead in helping to minimize or eliminate the negative consequences of poorly
designed and improperly utilized information systems. For managers and users to have such an
influence, they must be properly educated. This paper examines about computer waste and computer
related mistakes and their causes; and the necessary measures to avoid them.

Yet even the most sophisticated hardware cannot produce meaningful output if users do not follow
proper procedures. Mistakes can be caused by unclear expectations and a lack of feedback. A
programmer might also develop a program that contains errors. In other cases, a data–entry clerk
might enter the wrong data. Unless errors are caught early and prevented, the speed of computers
can intensify mistakes. As information technology becomes faster, more complex, and more
powerful, organizations and computer users face increased risks of experiencing the results of
computer–related mistakes.
4. Preventing computer related waste and mistakes
a. Establishing Policies and Procedures
The first step to prevent computer–related waste is to establish policies and procedures regarding
efficient acquisition, use, and disposal of systems and devices. Computers permeate organizations
today, and it is critical for organizations to ensure that systems are used to their full potential. As a
result, most companies have implemented stringent policies on the acquisition of computer systems
and equipment, including requiring a formal justification statement before computer equipment is
purchased, definition of standard computing plat– forms (operating system, type of computer chip,

The Beauty Of Computer Science And Computer Engineering
The beauty of computer science and computer engineering lies in the fact that even with the ever
increasing number of notions and innovations in the field, there do exist lots of rooms for
improvement and development and the current can't and won't stop. This caught my eyes as a
teenager and helped me to realize the future and career that I would like to seek. A time when I first
wanted to make a change and advance towards improving my abilities and expanding my limits, was
when I was preparing for the entrance examinations of National Organization for Development of
Exceptional Talents of Iran for both my junior high and high school. These schools were de facto the
best schools all around the country, so you might speculate the level of competition in these schools
and the sheer amount of exacting work required to finish in the top 10% of the students. During this
time, I really enjoyed working and studying linux and programming on my computer and I can't
forget the very fist moment that a simple game I made started to work correctly. Watching and
following the latest news and trends on the area of Embedded Systems and Security, I knew that
these would be the paramount focus of the present century, when the most difficult and complex
calculations and schedule arrangements can be done with a single piece of metal on our wrists, a
tiny part of hardware with many wires can control a whole building's temperature and lightings. The
security and invulnerability of these

The Use Of Computer Technology In Computer Science
INTRODUCTION
The use of computer technology in computer science fields dates back to the 80s, but recent years
have seen the two become almost completely dependent on one another. Many computer scientists
rely on computer software in order to ensure accuracy in their projects. Similarly, many new
software development projects keep computer applications in mind during their development. Young
computer scientists looking to put themselves on the fast track to success would benefit greatly from
learning computer technology and science applications relevant to their field.
TECHNOLOGIES USED IN COMPUTER SCIENCE
Virtual Learning Environment
A virtual learning environment (VLE), also known as a learning platform, simulates a virtual
classroom or meetings by simultaneously mixing several communication technologies. For example,
web conferencing software such as GoToTraining, WebEx Training or Adobe Connect enables
students and instructors to communicate with each other via webcam, microphone, and real–time
chatting in a group setting. Participants can raise hands, answer polls or take tests. Students are able
to whiteboard and screencast when given rights by the instructor, who sets permission levels for text
notes, microphone rights and mouse control.
A virtual classroom provides the opportunity for students to receive direct instruction from a
qualified teacher in an interactive environment. Learners can have direct and immediate access to
their instructor for instant feedback and

by a complex system of ropes and drums that might be considered to be a means of deciding which
parts of the mechanism performed which actions and when.[8] This is the essence of
programmability.
Around the end of the 10th century, the French monk Gerbert d 'Aurillac brought back from Spain
the drawings of a machine invented by the Moors that answered either Yes or No to the questions it
was asked.[9] Again in the 13th century, the monks Albertus Magnus andRoger Bacon built talking
androids without any further development (Albertus Magnus complained that he had wasted forty
years of his life when Thomas Aquinas, terrified by his machine, destroyed it).[10]
In 1642, the Renaissance saw the invention of the mechanical calculator,[11] a device that could
perform all four arithmetic operations without relying on human intelligence.[12] The mechanical
calculator was at the root of the development of computers in two separate ways. Initially, it was in
trying to develop more powerful and more flexible calculators[13]

Computer And The Four Components Of Modern Computers
1) What made modern computers possible– Is The invention that could do calculations and other
information with no moving parts. Which was electronic components. Electronic components a fast
efficient machine such as Babbage (who designed the mechanical calculating machines that are the
ancestor of computers today) proposed could be built with all four components essential to modern
computing.
2) What are four components essential to modern computing– Input, Storage, Processor, Output A
toaster is a way to show the four parts of a computer. Input– just as a computer the raw data which
will be as bread for a toaster goes in. Storage– The information gets stored just as you are turning
the dial for the toaster Processor–It will then be processed just as the bread toast Output– will be the
final result (the bread being toasted) The difference between them however is a computer work with
software that makes it figure out what to do with the input you give. Software gives the computer
the ability to process many different things, while a toaster can just process bread. Another
difference is the fact a computer has a microprocessor. Which is used for used to read different
tasks.
3) How do computers receive input– There was a time where computers received input by flipping
switches, and plugging wire, and put holes in cards to input It data.

have grown with the advancement of technology. As with the advancement of technology and
computer crimes there have been many types of computer crimes that have evolved with technology.
There have been laws in place to help reduce and regulate computers and computer crimes.
History of computer crimes
Computers and networks became increasingly known and used in the 1990s. Hackers back then
were more interested in attaining information about different systems. Hacking became almost like a

Theft is when someone violates copyrights and illegally downloads movies, games, software, and
music. Cyber stalking is another form of computer crime. Cyber stalking is where someone is
stalking someone online through online messaging, emails, and social networks. The cyber stalkers
usually known their victims, but if they feel that internet stalking isn 't enough they begin stalking
the person in real life. Another form of computer crime is identity theft. An identity thief steals
information about a person 's bank account, credit cards, debit cards, and other private information
to steal the persons money and buy things online or even sell the information to other criminals.
Malicious software is another type of computer crime. Malicious software is internet based software
or programs that are used to get into a system and steal sensitive information or they use it to cause
damage to the system. The last type of computer crime is child pornography. Criminals try to make
money off of minors by using chat rooms and websites for the purpose of producing child
pornography.
Categories of computer crimes
There are many types of computer crimes some worse than others as we have types of computer
crimes there are also categories of computer crimes. There are three categories for computer crimes
and each category uses different methods in dealing with computer criminals. The three categories
of computer crime is individual, property, and government. The

Computer Technology And Its Impact On Computer Crime
"Cyberwarfare is the use of computer technology to disrupt the activities of a state or organization,
especially the deliberate attacking of information systems for strategic or military purposes" (Oxford
Dictionary, 2016). While this definition may seem fitting on a global basis the idea of cybercrime
can encompass any valuable information of an individual, company, government, or military entity.
The term hacker came about in the early 80's defining a coup of people where were proficient at
manipulating computers. However, in 2016 the Oxford Dictionary defines hacker as "a person who
uses computers to gain unauthorized access to data". In the early stages of cybercrime hackers

Users would click on the links, be rerouted to a web page that looked like their bank, but was
actually a page developed by the hackers. Once the users entered their user ID and password, the
hackers had all the information they needed to access the users accounts.
In the early 2000's new criminal opportunities arose by attacking Web sites. Denial of Service (DoS)
attacks took place by having large numbers of computers accessing a Web site at the same time. This
provided cyber criminals with two things, global visibility, and financial opportunity. As
technologies evolve and advance, so do the abilities of the hackers. Now, the goal is to stay one step
ahead. It is not a matter of if a system can get hacked, but rather a question of when.
Specific functional business areas have common aspects of their software and hardware setup. For
example, the banking industry uses financial software and specific hardware, such as Automated
Teller Machines. The medical industry uses medical records software and specific hardware, such as
ultrasound and X–ray machines. The energy industry, uses substations controlled by master servers.
""Every substation is controlled by the master, which is controlled by the operator," says researcher
Chris Sistrunk who, along with Adam Crain, found vulnerabilities in the products of more than 20
vendors. "If you have control of the master, you have control of the whole system, and you can turn

In computing, a bus is a physical connection that allows data to be transported to and from different
components. An example of a bus could be wires, Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) or copper tracks.
The buses are shared between numerous components so that they can communicate. The idea or
purpose for buses is to save space on boards and in computers, and to reduce the amount of path
ways. The way in which a bus can reduce the number of pathways is by using a 'Data highway'.

The Benefits Of Learning Computers And Computer Science
One way in which computers and computer science has become so widespread is due to it being
easy to learn and integrate into schools. The basics of computer science can be learned fairly quickly
as the majority of computer programming is simple logic. It is so easy to learn that in Tennessee
schools have begun teaching student the basics of computer programming as early as the third grade.
This just goes to show how learning computer programming can be just as easily taught as basic
maths and sciences. Computer programming does not need to be limited to its own subject. In
Tennessee computer programming has been integrated into both its science and maths classes.
Through a simulation software called ViMap, third and fourth grade teachers were able to teach a
class on how butterflies adjust their behavior depending on their recent food consumption. This
shows that adults as well as children are able to learn and use computer programming skills in order
to benefit their lives.
The benefits of learning computer programming are not limited to using computer programming
itself. Another reason learning computer programming can be beneficial is the way computer
programming forces someone to think. Jeannette M. Wing, a consulting professor of computer
science at Carnegie Mellon University and a corporate vice president of Microsoft Research
believes that computational thinking is a fundamental skill every person should have.

The Computer And The Computers

  • 1. The Computer And The Computers Jaciya Wade Professor Kruse Senior Project 16 March 2016 The computer is one of the most used electronics in everyday life. The internet and the computer connects one place to another, Japan to Alaska, Canada to South America and so on. What is never thought of is the programs that go into the websites that are used on a regular basis, Facebook, twitter and Instagram. Without them there would be a complete disconnect between every continent, country, and city. No outside information would cycle in or out and trade of any kind, be it information or the discovery of more resources, would be reduced to a snail's pace. The same could be said for the information that doctors that work in laboratories and architects that build homes use, without the different computer programs and the internet, the services they provide would basically become non–existent. Computer programs are very important to prevent loss of life, such as the programs used in hospitals for life support or programs used to determine whether or not there is electricity going through a downed powerline. For example, at Ameren there is a program that is ranked as a class 1 system which means that if field employees didn't have access this program it could lead to loss of life (Boyd). Becoming a computer programmer has many benefits such as compensation, job satisfaction, and telecommuting, but every job has cons some of which are the current job outlook, health hazards and general computer security. • 3. Building A Computer And The Computer Building a computer When people hear that some people build their own computer, they automatically decide that it must be some very challenging task that requires a wizard of all things electronic. I will demonstrate otherwise, by starting with what parts to purchase for a good computer tailored to what is being planned on being done with it. Be it playing games, video–editing, or just simple internet browsing. Moving onward to an almost as essential step as putting it together: what tools are going to be needed before we begin the actual assembly process. As one can most likely deduce it does not matter how much is spent or what parts are purchased; if the tools to assemble it are not gathered, getting nowhere is all that is going to get ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The CPU or central processing unit is what executes the programs. It is also where a majority of the money that is spent is going. Next, we are going to procure a motherboard which, in a sense, connects a majority of the other components together so that they can work together. RAM (random access memory) is next on the list. Whatever data is in operation at the time is going to be stored on the RAM so that it can be quickly accessed. The amount one gets should be decided on what is being planned on doing with it if just browsing two to four gigabytes if fine, but if editing or coding is planned eight or more should be purchased. A power supply is, as you can probably deduce, what powers the computer itself. Think about this: what happens if you try to start a car with no battery? Well, the same thing is going to happen to a computer should we have decided it was a bright idea not to get one or install it. Now, how are we going to plan to fit all the cool things that are going to be downloaded once we get the computer up and running? By getting a hard drive. It is where all of the crucial data is going to be stored. We are going to put all of this in whichever computer case that the user has chosen. These are all the parts necessary for an average browsing and minimal intensive program build. Although, should one decide that a gaming or very intensive computer is necessary a few extra parts can and should be purchased. For example: a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Laptop And Tablet Computers : Computers Computers are ubiquitously in the world today, used by practically everyone; it is a device that a majority of people cannot live without. Used by all, the young, the elderly, for work or just for entertainment. In today's world they are two different types of computers that are really popular, they are: laptop and tablet computers. While both shares exceptionally close similarities like portability and both are capable of doing about the same task with inadequate limitations. In a day to day operation they are fairly different. The major difference lies within their uses, laptops are mainly used as a compact portable desktop, while tablets are used mainly for entertainment or amusement purposes. No one really knows what the future holds, but at the pace that technology is growing, that line is now becoming blurred and I 'm guessing that in the future there is not going to be a comparison between the two. One of the most important distinctions between the two is that of suitability, laptops are used for more of the serious work, and while tablets are also capable of doing the same; they are not generally used for the same purposes. Laptops are predominantly used when writing a paper or article doing a presentation, writing programs, or browsing the internet. A laptop is capable, in the sense of power, speed and convenience. Whereas tablets on the other hand is predominantly used at home for browsing the internet, app gaming, listening to music or reading a book. Electing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Recent years have shown an explosion of interest in using computers for language teaching and learning. The role of computers in language instruction has now become an important issue confronting large numbers of language teachers throughout the World. No doubt, computers make excellent teaching tools and computer technology has also contributed to language teaching and learning. In this type of education, a student may gain from what computer offers to the extent that his skills in computer use allows for. Computer is a vital requirement of computer supported learning, computer assisted education, remote learning and internet learning. Some research in this area indicate that computers have positive effect on learning. (Alacapınar,2006;Aksin,2006) One of the most essential advantages of the expansion of CALL is that language teachers don't feel bound grammar practise anymore as the main goal of computer use in the language classroom. • 9. Computer Ethics : The Computers And The Internet The computers and the Internet is one of the most technological advances that has happened in the twentieth century. The public has in a greater way gained access and information, and the gap that exists between technology and intellect of individuals is getting thinner. As society utilizes technology for more purposes many more ethical concerns have arisen. The enhancing use of technology has given way for unethical activities that encompasses violation of privacy and other illegal purposes, to crop up. Individuals are not all honest and as we see all do not to adhere to the ethical standards of behavior when it comes to technology. Several computer users keep a large amount of their information on their computer systems. Most communications are also done via email, as well as other messaging services. Today, financial transactions are done online such as banking, bill pay and making payments for purchases. In addition, the use of social media is also on the rise. As a result of this, hackers and other intruders have an opportunity to access information and use this information in illegal ways. According to Tecopedia, "Computer ethics deals with the procedures, values and practices that govern the process of consuming computing technology and its related disciplines without damaging or violating the moral values and beliefs of any individual, organization or entity" (Techopedia, n.d.). Although the modern home computer can do both now with ease it wasn't always like this. Word Processors were first designed to replace the classic typewriter, IBM coined the term "Word Processor" in the late 60's. The first word processors still had to print the text before it could be edited. Later in the 70's several companies were building various types of hardware based word processors; they had small displays and limited editing capabilities. • 13. Computer Simulation And Computer Programming A long time ago, when I used computer for the first time. I played a computer game called Logo in 3rd grade, which inclined me towards computer. The first day we tried the program, we had trouble actually moving the darned triangle on the screen. We were supposed to draw a geometric shape with the little triangle character, which the teacher called a "turtle". Movement was slow and unwieldy. We took turns to type in step–by–step commands, such as "rotate 90" or "pen up". But the question is who was drawing it, which fascinates me. The teacher answered it is microcomputers to draw beautiful, creative art. The terms microcomputer, processors etc. made me crazy for computer. Few areas of my education have stimulated me to think as much as my undergraduate courses in Discrete Structures, Computer graphics, Neural networks, System Programming, Microprocessor, Compiler construction and design, Artificial Intelligence, Algorithms design and analysis, Theory of Computation and Computer Programming. Here are innovations that keep evolving not only technically but also hold infinite scope for creativity and logic. I feel a similar sense of exhilaration when I see my own code run successfully. It is this feeling, which till date, drives me to not give up on even the toughest of problems. And it is this love for programming, combined with my desire to dig deeper into the working of various applications and technologies, which propels me to apply for a Graduate Program in computer ... What are the limitations of Moore's Law? Why can't this law hold forever? Explain [4 marks] Intel Founder Gordon Moore stated "The density of Transistors in an integrated circuit will double every year" There are physical and financial limitations. At the current rate of miniaturaturization, it would take about 500 years to put the entire solar system on a chip! Clearly, the limit lies somewhere between here and there. • 17. Computer And Computer Science In today's society, computers and computer science play a large role in everyday life whether it be at work, at school or during personal time. In this paper the history of the computer, the science of them and its incorporation into school will be explored. The topic that the exploration will start with is the history of the Computer and computer science between 1936, starting with Alan Turing and his Universal Turing Machine, leading through Bell Laboratory and all the advances through and into present day. This will lead into the connection between the computer and education and how education was changed with the incorporation of computers. The final part explains the problems that has surrounded computers and the study of computer science since their creations and how the solutions were formed over the years and how they continue to change the face of computer science, like the first models being as large as small buildings or a more recent issue of the limited diversity of computer science. Without computers and computer science, schooling today would be very much different than it is today. Computers have an extensive history in education and the goal of this paper is to present that information. In 1936 one the first concept of a computer was developed by Alan Turing, the Universal Turing Machine(UTM). Before Turing, there were only theories about computing machines that could do simple calculations but there were not any functioning models. However ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Compton Sunset Primary School, West Linn, Oregon August 20, 2006 Most people think of computers as mundane tools for completing daily tasks. But they are also a central part of exciting new technologies for artists including musicians. As computers improve and become faster and more powerful, they are becoming as integral to a musician's work as any instrument. Over the years, musicians have struggled to use the computer as an integrated tool, as working with audio places huge demands on the machine. This often resulted in problems such as latency, a time delay from pressing a note on the keyboard to hearing the sound. This can be quite frustrating during ... With the new wireless MIDI, students can interact with the computer via a keyboard from anywhere in the classroom. Today, there are also MIDI technologies for guitars, violins, saxophones, and even trumpets. A common problem for musicians today is choosing the right audio interface. There are PCI cards and stand–alone boxes available. One has to choose between USB or firewire ports, and how many inputs and outputs will be needed. For use with a high quality condenser microphone, the device should have built in 48–volt phantom power. Another choice are the depth and sample rates available for recording quality. CD quality is 16 bit at 44.1kHz , but much higher rates are possible. Certain interfaces are fine for single track recording, but others might work better to record several instruments at the same time (Walker, 2004). Professional musicians use the computer for a variety of applications. They use the mobility of the laptop to compose songs on the road in hotel rooms and on tour buses. They use the desktop machines at home to record all or part of a CD, saving costs substantially. Computer Engineering : A Computer Josh Piersma Mrs. Linn Advanced Writing November 18, 2014 Computer Engineering INTRODUCTION Looking through the various topics of which to write a paper on, I came across computer engineering. For as long as I can remember I have had a fascination with computers. When I was seven years old, I came across a cube shaped object at my grandparent's house. The object was called a computer, specifically an Apple Emac. My grandpa told me about all the interesting things this computer could preform. From then on, I was fixated on using the computer. Every time I went to my grandparent's house, I asked if I could play on the computer. From then on, my fascination for computers only grew exponentially. Beginning my research, I already knew the ... He needed to find someone that could connect all the wires and to make sure he did not electrocute himself while building the computer ("History of Computing"). He then met a professor while walking along campus one day. This professor was a electrical engineering professor named Harold W. Anderson. Talking with him Atanasoff told Anderson about this computer the wanted to build, and what type of student he would need and Anderson replied, " I have your man: Cliff Berry "( "History of Computing"). This then began the process of making the worlds first digital computer. The machine they built would not be recognizable compared to todays computers. The ABC looked nothing like today's computers: It was the size of a big desk, weighed 750 pounds, and featured rotating drums for memory, glowing vacuum tubes, and a read/write system that recorded numbers by scorching marks on cards ("History of Computing"). The term computer soon took off, and engineers all over the world took to designing their own digital computer. The next big step that engineers had to figure out how to make computers talk. • 29. The Computer Of Computer Technology Since the 1980 's, the growth of the technology sector has been exponential. The introduction of the personal computer (PC) was the true catalyst for the growth in popularity of computer technology. With this introduction also came the growth in popularity of being a computer scientist. The code used to write the software for these personal computers was brand new and easy to use. What made it easy to use was the fact that the computer code for the PC was very similar to the English language; whereas, previous computers used punch cards as a way to program them.. This change was revolutionary because it allowed anyone to learn how to program a computer. This, coupled with the major computer advancements occurring in the United States, such as the internet, created the idea that becoming a computer scientist almost guaranteed you a job. At the time, this was true. The idea still is mostly true, however, many computer science jobs, usually Information Technology (IT) and other entry level jobs that involve programming, have been moved overseas. This shift to outsourcing is not very widespread as some people might think, but it could become widespread with the increase in quality of life and job availability in other countries. The outsourcing, while currently not a major issue, does have very real consequences for the future. Such consequences include lack of job availability for college graduates in the United States and, as a result, an increase in unemployment. Another ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Human Computer Interaction : Computer Interface Human – Computer Interface The Human–Computer Interaction, as defined by Margret Rouse, "HCI (human–computer interaction) is the study of how people interact with computers and to what extent computers are or are not developed for successful interaction with human beings (Rouse. 2005)." As the need for computer interaction increased, better means of interacting with computer software became a necessity. The original human–computer interaction involved punch cards, and switches, then programmers had to use machine language known as coding, then command prompts and finally Graphical User Interface (GUI). Graphical User Interfaces make it easier and more comfortable for users to interact with software products. The Human–Computer Interface for Microsoft Word and Visio is the introduction of the Office Fluent Ribbon. The Office Fluent Ribbon is a type of GUI. This interface, introduced in Office 2007 organizes similar commands in groups on the Ribbon. From left to right the groups are determined by the order of importance. To reduce the clutter only a few tabs are shown, other contextual tabs can be accessed by clicking on the appropriate object. The Ribbon is the result of research and user testing. This enabled Microsoft to produce a design that made commands easier to find. One of the main advantages of the Ribbon is that it consolidates, in one place, those tasks or entry points that used to require menus, toolbars, task panes, and other UI components to display. Computer | | A computer is a general purpose device that can be programmed to carry out a finite set of arithmetic or logical operations. Since a sequence of operations can be readily changed, the computer can solve more than one kind of problem. Conventionally, a computer consists of at least one processing element, typically a central processing unit (CPU) and some form of memory. The processing element ... Around the end of the 10th century, the French monk Gerbert d 'Aurillac brought back from Spain the drawings of a machine invented by the Moors that answered either Yes or No to the questions it was asked.[9] Again in the 13th century, the monks Albertus Magnus andRoger Bacon built talking androids without any further development (Albertus Magnus complained that he had wasted forty years of his life when Thomas Aquinas, terrified by his machine, destroyed it).[10] In 1642, the Renaissance saw the invention of the mechanical calculator,[11] a device that could perform all four arithmetic operations without relying on human intelligence.[12] The mechanical calculator was at the root of the development of computers in two separate ways. Initially, it was in trying to develop more powerful and more flexible calculators[13] ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Father Of The Computer Introduction Living in today's age it's easy to forget that "technology" didn't always mean mobile phones, televisions, laptops, internet etc. For thousand years, it was the means by which people secured food and shelter. Along with the language, religion and social culture technology is a part of our life. The history of technology begins with the Stone Age together with need of expanding exploring agriculture, industrialisation, transportation, medicine, warfare and computers. We can write for hours about technologies but let's have a look closer on one of the topics. Computers have become a big part of our everyday live. The definition of computer was first used in 1613 and it was describing a human who performed calculations of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For a short time he attended King Edward VI Grammar School in Totnes, but his health forced him back to private tutors for a time. Babbage then joined 30–student Holmwood academy. This were he found his love to mathematics. He moved to Cambridge College to develop his mathematical skills. Disappointed in the mathematical introduction in the college formed with two other colleagues an Analytical Society. In 1812 he was transferred to Peterhouse in Cambridge where he was top mathematician there but surprisingly did not graduate with honours. Instead received degree without examination. Later life After school Babbage worked as a mathematitian. He was also elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society and played important part in the foundation of Astronomical Society in 1820.This is also the time where found passion in calculating machinery. In 1824 won the Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society for invention of an engine for calculating mathematical and astronomical tables (Difference Engine). In 1828 he occupied the Lucasian chair of mathematics at Cambridge and he took an important role in the establishment of the Association for Advancement of Science and the Statistical Society. He also attempt to reform the scientific organizations calling upon government and society to give more money to scientific effort. Remaining life spend on constructing analytical machine. Americans today take for granted the great impact the computer has on their lives, making things easier, faster, and more convenient for them. Computers helped the world a lot and helped us take a large step into the future. Almost anything you know is run or made by computers, industry, cars, jets, and ect. Computers are the most important innovations in history, without computers the world would not be able to function in the manner today that people are accustom to. Before there were electronic computers most of the tasks we now do with a computer were done other ways. Computers today have replaced many of the roles that people had once done manually. ENIAC was created during World War II, it was used to calculate movement and strategies for the military during the war. It was very helpful for America during World War II. John Vincent Atanasoff was born on October 4th, 1903. Atanasoff was a professor of mathematics and physics, that had always been interested in finding new ways to perform mathematical calculations at a faster rate. He was the inventor of the electric digital computer. Clifford Berry, a graduate student, and also a gifted engineer helped in assisting Atanasoff in building that world 's first electronic computer. ""In December 1939, the first prototype of the Atanasoff Berry Computer (ABC) was ready"" (Do 2). ""John Vincent Ananasoff gave birth to the field of electronic computing, in doing so, he also gave birth to a new era, an era of computers"" (Do 3). • 62. Computer And The Four Components Of Modern Computers 1) What made modern computers possible– Is The invention that could do calculations and other information with no moving parts. Which was electronic components. Electronic components a fast efficient machine such as Babbage (who designed the mechanical calculating machines that are the ancestor of computers today) proposed could be built with all four components essential to modern computing. 2) What are four components essential to modern computing– Input, Storage, Processor, Output A toaster is a way to show the four parts of a computer. Input– just as a computer the raw data which will be as bread for a toaster goes in. Storage– The information gets stored just as you are turning the dial for the toaster Processor–It will then be processed just as the bread toast Output– will be the final result (the bread being toasted) The difference between them however is a computer work with software that makes it figure out what to do with the input you give. Software gives the computer the ability to process many different things, while a toaster can just process bread. Another difference is the fact a computer has a microprocessor. Which is used for used to read different tasks. 3) How do computers receive input– There was a time where computers received input by flipping switches, and plugging wire, and put holes in cards to input It data. ... Computer Programming : The First Computer Program Computer Programming 01001101 11010010 11001011, Computer programming may sound complicated, but once anyone gets used to it, it is easy to understand. People every day use an electronic device to get tasks done. Those electronics are told what to do when they input a problem or command. To receive a clarification of what Computer Programming is, it is necessary to experience it. It is key to have programmers in this world; programmers have to deal with the complicated parts of the computer. They should be credited for the work they promote on an everyday level. People depend on technology to live because they have learned to adapt to that which is illustrated in everyday lives, History, and soon to be the future. In 2500 B.C., The Abacus was the only mechanical device that existed for numerical computation at the beginning of human history; it was invented in Sumeria Circa around that time period (Wikipedia 1). It was designed to find the answer to a math problem. The First computer program was written for the Analytical Engine by Mathematician Ada Lovelace to calculate a sequence of Bernoulli numbers (Wikipedia 3).Time passed, and devices were made so programming could start to evolve. Computer languages were first composed of a series of steps to wire a particular program: these advanced into a series of steps keyed into the computer then executed. (Ferguson 3) "At this point so far programming has not reached to a computer just yet, but later will be unveiled as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Computer Technology And Its Impact On Computer Crime "Cyberwarfare is the use of computer technology to disrupt the activities of a state or organization, especially the deliberate attacking of information systems for strategic or military purposes" (Oxford Dictionary, 2016). While this definition may seem fitting on a global basis the idea of cybercrime can encompass any valuable information of an individual, company, government, or military entity. The term hacker came about in the early 80's defining a coup of people where were proficient at manipulating computers. However, in 2016 the Oxford Dictionary defines hacker as "a person who uses computers to gain unauthorized access to data". In the early stages of cybercrime hackers spread programs called worms, computer viruses and trojan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Users would click on the links, be rerouted to a web page that looked like their bank, but was actually a page developed by the hackers. Once the users entered their user ID and password, the hackers had all the information they needed to access the users accounts. In the early 2000's new criminal opportunities arose by attacking Web sites. Denial of Service (DoS) attacks took place by having large numbers of computers accessing a Web site at the same time. This provided cyber criminals with two things, global visibility, and financial opportunity. As technologies evolve and advance, so do the abilities of the hackers. Now, the goal is to stay one step ahead. It is not a matter of if a system can get hacked, but rather a question of when. Specific functional business areas have common aspects of their software and hardware setup. For example, the banking industry uses financial software and specific hardware, such as Automated Teller Machines. The medical industry uses medical records software and specific hardware, such as ultrasound and X–ray machines. The energy industry, uses substations controlled by master servers. ""Every substation is controlled by the master, which is controlled by the operator," says researcher Chris Sistrunk who, along with Adam Crain, found vulnerabilities in the products of more than 20 vendors. "If you have control of the master, you have control of the whole system, and you can turn on and off power at will. An intruder could exploit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An example of a bus could be wires, Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) or copper tracks. The buses are shared between numerous components so that they can communicate. The idea or purpose for buses is to save space on boards and in computers, and to reduce the amount of path ways. The way in which a bus can reduce the number of pathways is by using a 'Data highway'. The speed at which a data ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 77. The Benefits Of Learning Computers And Computer Science One way in which computers and computer science has become so widespread is due to it being easy to learn and integrate into schools. The basics of computer science can be learned fairly quickly as the majority of computer programming is simple logic. It is so easy to learn that in Tennessee schools have begun teaching student the basics of computer programming as early as the third grade. This just goes to show how learning computer programming can be just as easily taught as basic maths and sciences. Computer programming does not need to be limited to its own subject. In Tennessee computer programming has been integrated into both its science and maths classes. Through a simulation software called ViMap, third and fourth grade teachers were able to teach a class on how butterflies adjust their behavior depending on their recent food consumption. This shows that adults as well as children are able to learn and use computer programming skills in order to benefit their lives. The benefits of learning computer programming are not limited to using computer programming itself. Another reason learning computer programming can be beneficial is the way computer programming forces someone to think. Jeannette M. Wing, a consulting professor of computer science at Carnegie Mellon University and a corporate vice president of Microsoft Research believes that computational thinking is a fundamental skill every person should have.
