Slide 1 I was inspired by the stimulus document "A World without Work," by Derek Thompson. In the document, Derek talks about the social and
economic concerns with machines replacing factory workers, but he completely ignores the environmental impact that humans make. Because of this, I
wanted to focus on an environmental issue that faces the U.S today that we as humans can help solve.

There was once a bee that lived in a house. It didn't live in a hive like normal bees. It didn't even have its wings (we will get to that later). It walked

The purpose of this report was to determine why bees are disappearing and the effect on the world if they disappeared, like pesticides and
fungicides role in their disappearance, the role Colony Collapse Disorder has on their disappearance, the knock on effect on pollination, the knock
on effect on crops, can anything take up their role, can humans take up their role and is life possible without bees. It was determined that a
combination of pesticides and fungicides that contaminates the bees pollen leave the bees three time more likely to be infected by a parasite,
allow not enough evidence is available some evidence shows that a combination of factors lead to CCD where the adult bees leave the hive, the
queen, the baby bees and some worker bees this is not enough to support the hive in the long run so they die. Insects' pollination accounts for one

yields fall dramatically. Climate change which is thought to play a big role in when the bees immerge from hibernating through winter and loss of

Honey Bees
The purpose of this experiment is to determine whether Africanized Honey Bees show significant differences in productivity and efficiency when
rendering a frame using an artificial foundation and a frame using an organic wax foundation useful.
Introduction
Originally African honey bees (Apis Mellifera Scutella) were brought from Africa to the Southern American continent in 1956 by the Brazilian

After the hive settled from being removed from their former home an additional hive (honey super) was stacked on top of the brood chamber, this is
where the frames used for honey storage are placed. Of the ten frames only two were used for the experiment. One frame contains an artificial plastic
foundation that the bees build on top of; the second frame contains an organic wax foundation that requires more resources and energy to render the
frame useful. From then on we periodically checked the hive on the first week of every month for the next four months.
Results
In conclusion, the Honey Bees prefered to build off the organic wax foundation. The plastic foundation was then used once the prefered frame was
full of honey and therefor out of space to store their honey surplus. The frame with the wax foundation reared 1.81 of honey as opposed to the
artificial frame which only reared a 0.68. Retrieving this information was also dangerous as stated
