Kroger Pest Analysis
This paper will discuss the macro environment of the Kroger Company. Using the PESTEL analysis political, economic condition, sociocultural
forces, technological factors, environmental forces, legal and regulatory factors will determine which of the six components of PESTEL are most
relevant at present. The five forces model will decide which of the five forces is giving the company its strongest competitive pressure. The VRIN
test will determine the company's sustainable competitive advantage by examining their tangible and intangible resources. Conducting a SWOT
analysis will show the company's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats will determine how the company should move forward (Bethel
University,2017).
PESTEL analysis
At present time, I believe the two most pertinent factors for the Kroger company are sociocultural forces and environmental factors. According to
Orlando,2017, Kroger has formed a partnership with Lucky's supermarket located throughout central Florida and will open eight more stores in the
state adding to their numerous banners. Kroger will have to conduct research on the forces that include lifestyles. cultural differences and attitude
that could have an impact on their stores.
Some cultures may not eat the foods they stock. They would need to research the demographics of the area to make sure they would be able to
grow their business in that area. There are many nationalities in Florida, some call it the melting pot of the United States

Ups Promotes Diversity Within Its Company Essay
John Martin, a 30 year Senior Business Continuity Analyst at UPS, feels that the issue begins with the entry level employees (Martin, personal
interview, 2016). The employees are not given a baseline of expectations that they need to follow. This has led to costly retraining of the new
millennial employees at the company (Martin personal interview, 2016). The last manager that the writer interviewed, Gary Overstreet, expressed
concerns over the lost control of HR costs, and the repetition of many of the same ongoing HR issues that have led to company lawsuits
(Overstreet personal interview, 2016). UPS promotes diversity within its company literature. United Parcel Service describes diversity as impacting
its company on a global aspect. Diversity is a key issue in many of UPS's human resource issues. The web link to the company's diversity
statements will allow the writer to determine specific diversity issues and how they impact the selected company (UPS, 2012). Diversity between
the generations is impacting companies in a way that is splitting companies apart (Mhatre & Conger, 2011). There is a gap that is not mended could
cause irreparable harm. Each generation has different interpretations of missions, goals and rules to the point that communication is shutting down
(Mhatre & Conger, 2011). Technology has assisted the company in expanding globally, but it has also served as a nemesis with the rapid expansion
of social media. Venters, Green, and Lopez

tax changes, new laws and government policy changes. Managers should not just rely on the PESTLE analysis, it is a tool, a snapshot in time,
which will assist in understanding the current factors, it will not determine a direct path in the direction they need to follow to progress the
company considerably. When in fact managers most need to judge, into what factors are most likely to change and also which have the greatest
impact to them, so in the case of Centre Parc's they need to consider mostly economical and sociological. A way of achieving the relevance of each
factor to the company is to rank or score the factors, so there is a clear understanding of which are of most importance and vice versa. As Centre
Parc's has many different villages, this means that it includes many divisions and also brands (Starbucks, and Zilli restaurants), so managers need
to concentrate on one specific area within each village.

Porter's Five Forces Analysis Of The Ice Cream Industry In...
3.0 Industry analysis
Ice–cream industry has started and sustained in Malaysia market for a long period of time. In recent years, several reports reveal that sales of ice–
cream industry in Malaysia has increased and grown to be a major player in food and beverage industry. While there are many reasons behind this,
the increment of citizens' disposable income is considered as a principal cause. (Euromonitor International, 2016)
Besides sales increment, the number of ice–cream manufacturers, parlour and restaurants has grown and they are gaining popularity by introducing
new flavours of ice–cream and providing a comfortable environment. Supermarkets play a role in supporting the sales by selling multipack ice–
cream and bulk ice–cream. (SeowMIee, 2011) Hence, we will use PEST, SWOT and Porter's five forces analysis to analyse the industry.

It includes five parts which are the following:
3.3.1 Bargaining power of buyer (High)
High bargaining power of buyers due to large number of ice–cream suppliers, high customers' price sensitivity. This could cause buyers to pressure
us on lowering selling price or improve quality of products. (Jim Wilkinson, 2013) Furthermore, ice–cream is not a necessity, thus customers have
higher price sensitivity than other food. Low income group of consumers, for example students are sensitive towards price of ice–cream, hence
they are able to control our price indirectly.
3.3.2 Bargaining power of supplier (Low)
Bargaining power of suppliers is low due to large number of suppliers of raw materials, low switching cost and availability of attractive substitutes.
(Jim Wilkinson, 2013) Therefore, we could control the price of raw materials because we can easily switch to different suppliers with lower price
and higher quality, increasing our profit consequently.
3.3.3 Threats of new entrants

Case Study : Brew City Rentals
Introduction This systems planning document reviews the case summary of Brew City Rentals. The document will review the problems indicated
in the case narrative and provide a SWOT and PEST analysis. Also shown will be a feasibility study with an overall recommendation on deploying
a new information system. Information System Requirements The information system's requirements in the systems planning phase are based on a
case summary, potential interview questions, and the systems analyst's experience in systems planning. One must not only generate requirements
based specifically on what users' state they want or need. Analysts must also generate requirements based on insight into the overall organization
and project goals. Requirements Based on the case narrative presented for Brew City Rentals, I believe the company needs to resolve multiple
issues that exist with the current Information System. Currently customers complain about long check out times due to employees having to enter
information in multiple spreadsheets. These complaints could lead customers away from the company and push them towards their competitors.
Brew City Rental also has issues managing inventory and tracking rentals. This is demonstrated when customers are often charged incorrect late
fees and cannot find movies which are marked as in stock. This will also cause customer satisfaction to go down and will potentially decrease
revenue. Brew City Rental is experiencing new competition

Franchise Company like the Chantefrais is an orgnisation where quality and complying with law and standards are particularly respected and they
also provide training skills such as hygiene for its franchisors. The weaknesses of the Chantefrais will be if the company is based on quality and
hygiene involving high prices customers may be reluctant to buy the product even if it is of high quality they will prefer buying from competitors
offering cheaper prices. If the company lacks a key team member or skill, that can be proved to be a disadvantage for Chantefrais. In addition,
opportunities can emerge by using its business expertise to anticipate the consumer trends on the market. For Chantefrais , some threats may be
beyond control, such as sales may slowdown which may be caused by difficult economic times. If the cost structure is higher than that of their
rivals, that combination of customer initiative and market dynamics can be a major threat to their ability to compete for business. Also if it takes

These factors have major impacts on how businesses operate and make decisions. For example, interest rates affect a firm's cost of capital and
therefore to what extent a business grows and expands. Exchange rates affect the costs of exporting goods and the supply and price of imported
goods in an economy * Social factors include the cultural aspects and include health consciousness, population growth rate, age distribution, career
attitudes and emphasis on safety. Trends in social factors affect the demand for a company's products and how that company operates. For example,
an aging population may imply a smaller and less–willing workforce (thus increasing the cost of labor). Furthermore, companies may change
various management strategies to adapt to these social trends (such as recruiting older workers). * Technological factors include technological
aspects such as R&D activity, automation, technology incentives and the rate of technological change. They can determine barriers to entry,
minimum efficient production level and influence outsourcing decisions. Furthermore, technological shifts can affect costs, quality, and lead to

as a useful tool for companies, thereby aiding their evaluations, giving them clarity in direction as well as the ability to strategies with others to
make well–informed choices and decisions. In other words, it is a way of analysing a business, its resources and environment (Riley 2014). The

above are largely external, hence; PESTLE is a tool that can be used together with the SWOT framework, particularly in evaluating the
opportunities and threats open to a company. (Business ball 2015) Tesco is one of the largest retailers on earth and has its stores in 12 countries
around the world. It is a public limited company this is; a business with limited liability and usually a wide spread of shareholders (Allan. P

Market share measures, the sale of one product or businesses as a percentage of the total market share. AboulElgheit (2013) highlights the fact that
Tesco is 'losing ground' in the UK, which indicates that it has been losing market share to its 'competitors'. Over the past three months, Tesco sales
have declined and now holds 30.9% of the market to 28.8%, this drastic fall occurred between the year of August 2012 to August 2014, which
means that Tesco lost share each year.

Swot Analysis Of Blue Ocean Strategy

which I will assess their already existing strategic plan and to think creatively to draft a viable strategic plan for the company's future and to also

The launching and opening of the first Mr Price group store was in 1987 in Durban, Brickhill Road and within 3 years from when the first store

–Threat of substitutes:
To eliminate the threat of customers possibly opting for a product similar to what Mr Price offers, they need to monitor and differentiate their
products to be in alignment to what the customers want. For examples, a consumer may feel it is better to buy thing from one of their competitors
as they have similar products and items.
Comment on Porter five force model: According to the Porter five force model, rivalry is high, which means the competition environment is tough
and Mr Price is fighting for market share percentage as if all the rivals. They need to come up with creative ways to create an uncontested market
share in order to make their competition irrelevant.

2.1.2.3 Combined
Combining the research above, the market value as at 2013 is worth $32.35 billion dollars per year, and of particular interest is the rented
house/apartment/flat or unit market, which contributes $9.7973 billion dollars to the Australian economy.
2.1.3 Trends
As revealed by (reference 2), 62% of Australian accommodation provides instant confirmation on traveller bookings, the remaining 38% are
confirmed on request (reference 1).
The Trend in the industry is moving away from On Request confirmations, and moving towards instantly confirmed accommodation (Puvaneswary
2015) which better serves the consumers need for instant gratification (Evans 2013).
A report collected from Bookeasy's booking history received from over 41,000 tourism operators since January 2010 clearly confirms this trend in
the Australian accommodation sector. (Get this published on a Bookeasy public blog?)
Another strong indicator of this trend is that HomeAway, the Largest OTA in the vacation rental business is rapidly converting its customers from
On Request to "online bookable" (Schaal 2015) and went on to say that it is so important to them that if their customers don't upgrade their listing

Kroger PEST Analysis of Sociocultural and Environmental Factors

  • 1. Kroger Pest Analysis This paper will discuss the macro environment of the Kroger Company. Using the PESTEL analysis political, economic condition, sociocultural forces, technological factors, environmental forces, legal and regulatory factors will determine which of the six components of PESTEL are most relevant at present. The five forces model will decide which of the five forces is giving the company its strongest competitive pressure. The VRIN test will determine the company's sustainable competitive advantage by examining their tangible and intangible resources. Conducting a SWOT analysis will show the company's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats will determine how the company should move forward (Bethel University,2017). PESTEL analysis At present time, I believe the two most pertinent factors for the Kroger company are sociocultural forces and environmental factors. According to Orlando,2017, Kroger has formed a partnership with Lucky's supermarket located throughout central Florida and will open eight more stores in the state adding to their numerous banners. Kroger will have to conduct research on the forces that include lifestyles. cultural differences and attitude that could have an impact on their stores. Some cultures may not eat the foods they stock. They would need to research the demographics of the area to make sure they would be able to grow their business in that area. There are many nationalities in Florida, some call it the melting pot of the United States ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Ups Promotes Diversity Within Its Company Essay John Martin, a 30 year Senior Business Continuity Analyst at UPS, feels that the issue begins with the entry level employees (Martin, personal interview, 2016). The employees are not given a baseline of expectations that they need to follow. This has led to costly retraining of the new millennial employees at the company (Martin personal interview, 2016). The last manager that the writer interviewed, Gary Overstreet, expressed concerns over the lost control of HR costs, and the repetition of many of the same ongoing HR issues that have led to company lawsuits (Overstreet personal interview, 2016). UPS promotes diversity within its company literature. United Parcel Service describes diversity as impacting its company on a global aspect. Diversity is a key issue in many of UPS's human resource issues. The web link to the company's diversity statements will allow the writer to determine specific diversity issues and how they impact the selected company (UPS, 2012). Diversity between the generations is impacting companies in a way that is splitting companies apart (Mhatre & Conger, 2011). There is a gap that is not mended could cause irreparable harm. Each generation has different interpretations of missions, goals and rules to the point that communication is shutting down (Mhatre & Conger, 2011). Technology has assisted the company in expanding globally, but it has also served as a nemesis with the rapid expansion of social media. Venters, Green, and Lopez ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They need to come up with creative ways to create an uncontested market share in order to make their competition irrelevant.
