Article 7:
Take appropriate measures to investigate, prevent and suppress forest destr
uction, forest fires and clearing to ensure effective enforcement of this Law.
Article 32:
The forest shall be protected against damage due to the destruction caus
ed by excessive exploitation, abusive forest clearing, forest ecosystem pol
lution, forest fires, clearing of natural forest for slash and burn fields, dise
ases, noxious insects, and the introduction of imported species harmful to
wildlife or vegetation.
To use equipment or allow unleashed or leashed livestock into an area wit
h tree seedlings or recent growth after harvesting, a forest fire, or in area
s being or recently planted; and
24. Article 36:
It is prohibited to set fires in the Permanent Forest Estate, except
by the Forest Administration to benefit silviculture or forest mai
ntenance.
MAFF shall issue Prakas on guidelines to determine sectors of
forest fire control, forest fire prevention and creation of Forest Fi
re-Fighters Committees in forest areas.
People, armed forces, and authorities of all levels shall be jointly
responsible for forest maintenance and protection, fire preventio
n and fighting against forest fires.

25. Article 97:
An individual who has committed to set forest fire activities int
entionally illegally shall be punished under a Class I forest offe
nse subject to 5 to 10 years in prison and confiscation of all evi
dence as State property, destruction of false documentation an
d revocation of applicable agreements, licenses or permits.
