Michelangelo was a great artist who contributed many famous works of art to the world, even while faced with obstacles and discouragements. He has
created a great amount of famous sculptures and paintings. Back then, there wasn't as much materials to work with as there is now. Not only did less
resources make creating something more difficult, but it also made it more time consuming. Also, Michelangelo worked by himself, which meant his
works took even more time. Even with all these difficulties, Michelangelo was able to create these magnificent works of art. Many of his works
have become very well known, some of which will be mentioned below. Michelangelo Buonarroti is known as one of the best artists and sculptors of
the Italian Renaissance period. Ever since he was young, he knew he wanted to be an artist of some sort.
When he told his father about wanting to become an artist/sculptor, his father was not happy and even beat him to try and get some sense into him. His
father wanted him to do something more noble, like how his father worked with a business. Throughout his childhood, Michelangelo was an apprentice
to painters and went to a sculpture school, where he learned a lot. He then started doing more and more works of art, and started getting more

Count Camillo Benso di Cavour was a man born into Italian politics during a time where the divided peninsula was in constant turmoil which was
largely due to the many shifts in power throughout the many territories of Italy. Descending from a noble family and having both marquis for a father
and a mother who was the lady in waiting to the princess at the time (who was the first Napoleon's sister), Cavour had the chance early on to observe

The renaissance was both affected by and had affects on the art of its time and later on. Whether this art be in the form of paintings or literature it
clearly shows today how the renaissance had taken time to affect everything around it. While some pieces of art from this time period are as
simple as a piece of canvas and some color in the form of pigment, they have stood the test of time and held up not only as beautiful images for us
to see, but also as devices to give us a window into the minds of those long past. This is exactly the kind of thing done today when looking at artwork

Fate una vacanza in Italia! That means let's take a vacation to Italy, in Italian! This April me and my family will be going on a four day trip to Italy.
So first let 's start off with the basics because most likely you are thinking to yourself where is Italy located? Italy is located in the southern part of
Europe, there is no way you can miss it on a map because it is shaped like a high heel. Generally speaking, it takes about eight hours to fly to Italy
(from USA). Most of Italy has a Mediterranean type of climate, which has cool, rainy winters and hot, dry summers. As a result of the Mediterranean
type of climate we are going to travel to Italy August 12–15th so that in Italy it will be nice and warm so we can enjoy outdoor activities without
having to bundle up and fight the cold.
Italy is a peninsula in the Mediterranean Sea. "Much of Italy is covered by mountains" ("Geographic Landmarks"). The Dolomite mountain lays out
across northern Italy and are also a part of the Appalachian Mountain range. The highest mountain of Italy can be found in the Appalachian mountains.

The Italian Renaissance had two distinct periods during its lifetime. The first being the "Early Renaissance", which took place between the late 13th
and the early 14th centuries. The second period was known as the "High Renaissance", which took place during the 15th and 16th centuries. These two

symmetry, proportions, and with ample amounts of geometry. These architectural styles can be seen in the Pazzi Chapel (to the left), which was

When he sought an ideology he found none to satisfy him. When he came to power after the 1922 March on Rome he found himself in charge of the
state but without a guiding and inspirational system of thought. The first phase lasted until the first fascist state was founded in 1925.
Fascism was not clearly developed in theory and Mussolini was able to use this to appeal to all the groups irrespective of status. Italy was a country
separated amongst itself and there was a great sense of loss after the first World War which set the stage for Mussolini's March on Rome. There was a
sense of disgust within Italy at the terms of the peace treaties, they did not feel they acquired the territories they deserved. During this period after the
war, the economy was chaotic, the government was corrupt and there was little to no order, and when times become bad, extreme political viewpoints
