I wish to convey my warmest felicitations and best wishes to the third batch of Filipino graduates of the
Teacher’s Certificate for Professionalism (TCP) program conducted by the International Technology Manage-
ment Corp. Philippines (lntem) and Bago City College in Vientiane, Laos from 2017-2018.
Your graduation from the TCP program reflects your capability to work in the education sector, and serves as proof of your dedication
to the academic studies and the teaching profession. I wish to express my hopes that you, the new TCP graduates, will continue to raise
the standards for aspiring Filipinos in Laos who also wish to undergo training under the TCP program. I also wish that you would be able
to apply what you have learned during the TCP program in your respective schools and contribute to educating and shaping the futures
of the upcoming leaders of this country.
I wish to acknowledge and express my sincere appreciation to Dr. Bernadette Gonzales, D.PA., Chief Executive Officer of lntem Philip-
pines, for her efforts in continuing the TCP program in Laos. This special education program serves as a bridge between the Filipinos
seeking to improve their skill sets and qualifications in order to meet the demands of the education and labor sectors in Laos, and the
Lao people seeking more professional teachers and administrators for their educational institutions in
the country. I am hopeful that the TCP program will continue to assist the Filipinos in Laos in their
respective career growth and development, so that they will contribute more to the Lao society and
add to the positive image of the Philippines and respected reputation of Filipinos.
Once again, my sincerest congratulations to the new TCP graduates, and my
best wishes for Dr. Bernadette Gonzales, lntem Corporation, and Bago City College.
Mabuhay po kayong lahat!

3. In Bago City College we are always challenged to change the world to be a better place through education. Quite
ambitious some may say, but this is actually our mission in the college.
True, we will touch lives but some may not realize it that we are transforming the world through the many innovations
that education brings to the graduates.
The practice of innovation that has marked the policy of today’s Bago City
College Administration is as vibrant as ever. We are diverse in our outlook and
our approach, beholden not to any ideology but to a fierce desire to discover and
help implement what works. And what works will just naturally transform our
world to be a better place to live in.
Educators cannot stand on the sidelines or be concerned only with their personal
advancement. This graduating class knows that Bago City College have purpose-
fully prepared each of you to be courageous leaders, thoughtful collaborators,
responsible and God fearing citizens, committed to transform our environment.
So, go now and help our country progress through innovations toward transfor-
mations.
Thank you for choosing Bago City College to be a vehicle of your life’s journey.
Thank you for respecting and embracing what we offered you. Stay with us into
the future. May you become all that you have dreamt you can be. Be assured, in
return, that we will travel beside you and will welcome you back on many and
varied returns. Together, we will learn to change the world.
“In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure”. (William “Bill” Cosby, Jr)
Dear graduates, this moment is a manifestation that you have conquered fear despite the uncertainties and hardships you
have encountered in your four years stay in the department. You indeed have faced your fear bravely and even hurdled it
successfully. This is not only a celebration of success but rather a significant memento of recognizing everyone’s effort for
surviving from the difficult and challenging years of subsequent trials in order to become an affluent individual capable of
crafting skills using various innovations to create new directions in teaching profession through education.
You have successfully won the battle for full literacy with your desire for success and this
proves worth that; “In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than
your fear of failure”. Along with this triumphant struggle, you may as well continue to live
by this code, that above all else, “excellence is a virtue”. Indeed, you have given us enough
reason to uphold and preserve the fine tapestries of true BCCian spirit and character to
motivate further the new comers towards greater heights of academic excellence.
Now that you will begin the new journey outside the threshold of your Alma Mater, just
continue to strive and be deserving to be called as sons and daughters of your humble
institution by giving her pride, honor and sense of value. Always remember this: “To the
world, you may be just a teacher but to your students, you are a HERO”. Keep your head-
on and set yourself as an inspiration and blessings to guide others. Once again, congrat-
ulation graduates!

“Today, do just a little bit more. Turn going the exra mile into a habit-it
is what lifts most successful people above the crowd.” --Bob Proctor

TO OUR GRADUATES
I feel a special attachment and pride to the first batch of Bachelor Degree graduates from the joint program of Bago
City College and Intem Philippines, many of whom belong to the original ELITE project beneficiaries back in 2013
when we were installing the innovative PCK tools with the Ministry of Education and Sports (MOES) Department
of Teacher Education and simultaneously, to the local community of Filipino teachers in Laos. It has been a journey
indeed, and I am very glad that you went that extra-mile.
