Joseph Henry will run 500 miles from Washington D.C. to the University of Guelph in Ontario to raise awareness and $100,000 for organizations fighting world hunger. He has been training for months to complete the grueling run in winter conditions. Previously unable to run more than 2 miles, Henry is now prepared to run 30-32 miles per day for 17 days straight. His goal is to help the 25,000 people who die from starvation every day and to support programs that provide meals to those in need.

$100,000 for the United Nations World Food
Programme.
He gave up his comfortable life to train for
months in preparation for the gruelling run in
winter at the Northeast.

two miles.
He underwent tiring physical training for the
upcoming 500 miles run.

above to help people in need which made him
decided to do this.
Joseph has raise $10,000 in addition to the
sponsorship he received for equipment and
food.
25,000 people die everyday due to starvation
which saddens him.
5. Henry, a Sonoma County, Calif. native, discovered
the UFWH through his studies in The Sparkman
Centre for Global Health. He applied for a
scholarship to the UFWH conference in Auburn
this past year and was accepted
The UFWH is an international initiative started in
2004 as a partnership between the United
Nations World Food and Auburn University.

day. In Hunger 500 he has to run 30 to 32
miles in a day, for 17 days.
He will have to change his diet and lifestyle to
train for this run.

People are now more aware about world
hunger after knowing Joseph wanted to raise
funds, thus people now would be more
generous when donating to these people who
need their help
This $100,000 can potentially feed 25,000
school children one meal with WFP’s School
Meals Program.
