Context of the lesson
In this course grade nine are studying about Robot. In this particular lesson I am focusing on introducing the
NXT robot program.
Learning objective:
At the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
• Introduce NXT software
• Identify software icons
Assumptions about prior learning
I assume that the students already know how to plug the robot to the computer using a USB port to install the
program.
Anticipated problems and possible solutions
In this particular lesson the problems that students may have is:
• The time management. (I am worried that I will spend lots of time in the review task). Therefore, I
will use a timer.
• Some Ss might create a problem when I will divide them into groups, therefore, I will pick their
names randomly.
Personal focus for this lesson
In this lesson I am working on several things like:
• Spend enough time on explaining the software to make sure that each student understands it.

T _ Ss • T will review the previous lesson by distributing a
table with names of the robot’s parts and then asked
them to stick the correct picture in the right place.
• Ss will stick the picture of the robot parts
in the right place of the worksheet.

T _ Ss • T will start the lesson by telling the students what
they will learn today (learning objective) which is
robot programming.
• T will present and discuss the final outcome of this
lesson which is a programmed robot. ( In my point
of view, it is important for the student to see the
whole product before start doing it to be more clear)
• Ss will read the learning objectives and
discuss it with the T.
• Ss will know exactly what they will do
from looking at the final robot.

Teaching Practice Lesson Plan Date 27th April 2014 Student teach er Hajar Saeed Mohammed Time Sunday (From 10:35 until 11:20) School Rufaidah MST Miss Aisha Class Grade 9(1) Lesson Unit/page Robot programming No of students 15 Context of the lesson In this course grade nine are studying about Robot. In this particular lesson I am focusing on introducing the NXT robot program. Learning objective: At the end of this lesson, students will be able to: • Introduce NXT software • Identify software icons Assumptions about prior learning I assume that the students already know how to plug the robot to the computer using a USB port to install the program. Anticipated problems and possible solutions In this particular lesson the problems that students may have is: • The time management. (I am worried that I will spend lots of time in the review task). Therefore, I will use a timer. • Some Ss might create a problem when I will divide them into groups, therefore, I will pick their names randomly. Personal focus for this lesson In this lesson I am working on several things like: • Spend enough time on explaining the software to make sure that each student understands it. Target language • NXT • Loop • Record • Sound Teacher language • I will give a star for the first one who will finish. • Pay attention, please. • Turn your face toward me • Time is up Main tasks or activities 1. Paste the label on the picture 2. Present the program interface 3. Explain the program 4. In groups ss will …) MST/MCT Comment (leave blank) 1 Engagmen t (Warmar) T _ Ss • T will review the previous lesson by distributing a table with names of the robot’s parts and then asked them to stick the correct picture in the right place. • Ss will stick the picture of the robot parts in the right place of the worksheet. 2 Building knowledg e T _ Ss • T will start the lesson by telling the students what they will learn today (learning objective) which is robot programming. • T will present and discuss the final outcome of this lesson which is a programmed robot. ( In my point of view, it is important for the student to see the whole product before start doing it to be more clear) • Ss will read the learning objectives and discuss it with the T. • Ss will know exactly what they will do from looking at the final robot. 3. Transform ation T _ Ss • T will open a screenshot of the program interface and start explaining the program blocks. • T will start explain each important icon in the program. • Ss will pay attention to the teacher. 4. Presentati on T _ Ss • T will show the students a tutorial video about the program and then ask the students about the video. • Ss will pay attention to the video to answer the T question. 5. Reflection T _ Ss • T will ask each student to give either a question or statement. • T will ask Ss what you learned today. • Ss will ask question or say statement if they have. • Ss will answer the T question.
