MR is the next wave of computing, following mainframes, PCs, and smartphones. So, It
is becoming mainstream in bussinesses and consumers. MR can blend real world and
degital world. It becomes new real world. This world is based on advances in computer
vision , graphical processing, display technology, input systems, and cloud computing.
People have to wear MR head mount display so, it looks like VR. However, it's not VR or
AR. VR only see virtual world. AR add elements that not enough for real world. On the
other hand, MR can materialize visual information in real space as a hologram in the
shape of the real world. It means you can see video information in any location or
space as if it were there. It's a big difference. Maybe, you notice that the reason of the
answer of AR + VR is MR. These technologies have different advantages.
MR is already used in many ways. I will explain some examples. The first example is
microsoft hololens2. It uses eyetracking function and It is equipped with four main
sensors: accelerometer, angular rate sensor, magnetic sensor, and Azure Kinect sensor.
These sensor detect our finger's move. So, we can play the virtual piano. I will explain
other examples. Construction industry, manufacturing industry, entertainment industy
and more some industries use MR. By displaying manufacturing processes, procedures,
and equipment operation methods, actions to be taken can be confirmed in real time
while the work is in progress. You may think MR is used only game or some small fields,
but MR is used in many ways for solving problems.
In the future, MR will spread and many companies use MR. MR devices optimized for
their respective industries, such as the helmet-integrated HoloLens2, are now
available, and as their use continues to grow, devices with a variety of features will be
released. If it becomes so, it is possible that devices with contact lens-type displays,
etc. that can be used without much awareness of how they feel to wear may emerge. I
