Jakub Poplanuch summarizes their week long ERASMUS+ exchange trip to Finland in 7 days. Each day included activities like visiting a Finnish school, a nature center, Helsinki landmarks, and spending time with their host family. They participated in workshops, forest activities, and danced. The trip was a wonderful experience that allowed Jakub to try new things like taking a flight and spending time in another country and culture. They were sad to say goodbye to their new friends at the end of the week but it was an amazing experience they will never forget.
2. Day 1 (Sunday)
On Sunday, at 0:44 a.m. we travelled by train to
Prague. The journey was long, but we had fun,
so it was fast. We waited a few hours in Prague
airport for a flight. The flight lasted 2 hours.
It was one of the most amazing experiences.
At the beginning I was afraid, but at the end
it was beautiful. Host families waited at Helsinki
Aiport. We went home and had a rest until the
end of the day.
3. Day 2 (Monday)
On Monday, we visited a Finnish school in
the city Kirkkonummi. At the beginning
we watched presentations from different
countries and about the Erasmus project.
After lunch we had workshops. We found
ourselves in a virtual reality, then we
drove robots, learned to play a musical
instrument – kantele. Finally, Finnish
pupils showed us the school. In each
classroom, there was a comfortable couch
and an interactive board. Relations with
teachers were much better than ours.
At around 3:00 p.m., families picked us
home and we had a program with them.
4. Day 3 (Tuesday)
On Tuesday, we visited the nature centre Haltia.
Later on, we went to the nature where we did
interesting forest activities. We saw nature,
played different games and we learned
something new. Then we went to see the
reindeer farm. We admired those wonderful
animals. At the end, I went to the host family.
5. Day 4 (Wednesday)
On Wednesday, we had a tour in Helsinki. At the
beginning, we visited a large interesting library.
Then we went to the museum of the paintings
called Ateneum. The next stop was the
protestant cathedral – the White church. The last
monument that we visited was the Uspenski
Cathedral. It was a beautifully spent day.
6. Day 5 (Thursday)
On Thursday, we visited Linlo park. We saw the
harbor and the sea. Later on, we went into the
forest. We played a spy game – we were looking
for diamonds. It was a funny adventure game in
which we all laughed. Then, we got a sausage
and we began toasting. At the end, we also
danced a Spanish dance. At the end of the day,
we went to skate. A wonderful day.
7. Day 6 (Friday)
On Friday, we spent a day at
school. We were on different
lessons. In conclusion, we all
again met in the gym.
Children from all the states
are thankful for this week.
Finally, we watched a video of
the whole week. We went to
the families. In the evening
there was the last party.
Everyone brought some super
food, and we enjoyed it there.
We said goodbye to our new
friends.
8. Day 7 (Saturday)
We spent Saturday morning with families.
We said them goodbye. They drove us to the
aiport. Some of us were sad and we were like
crying. Later on, we flew to Prague. We saw the
city at night from the plane. It was beautiful.
Then we went to Žilina by train. There, our
families waited for us. It was a wonderful week.
It was the most amazing experience that I will
never forget. If there is another similar outing,
then I would like to go
