What I learnt during the process of making our thriller
1. What I learnt in the
progression from the
preliminary task to the full
product?
2. • I learnt the importance of rules whilst
filming to enable the sequence to make
sense e.g. 180-degree rule
• My editing skills improved since the
preliminary task, as they were very
minimal to start with, only using basic
techniques, to using sophisticated
techniques in our thriller
• I have gained a wider understanding about
use of the camera and how all its
components work e.g. I am able to mount
a camera onto a tripod, position
appropriate lighting and know how to zoom
in, focus etc…
3. • I have gained a wider understanding
about use of the camera and how all its
components work e.g. I am able to mount
a camera onto a tripod, position
appropriate lighting and know how to
zoom in, focus etc…
• I learnt the importance of mise-en-scene
through the development of our thriller,
which was not a main aspect of our
preliminary task
4. • I learnt the importance of organisation
within our group which we did not have
during the filming of the preliminary task.
We focused a lot more on our organisation
e.g. filming schedule, and applying specific
roles to each member, to ensure one
member does not become dominant, due
to the incident whilst filming the preliminary
task.
• I recognized the importance of positive
group dynamics, and ensuring everyone is
happy with the shots, storyboards, roles
etc… This allowed us to enjoy the filming
much more than we did throughout the
preliminary task.
