and painful disease or an irreversible coma. Euthanasia is not just death, but it is caused by what
was done or what was not done to prevent death. Euthanasia, also called mercy killing or assisted
suicide, it is currently legal in California, Colorado, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington; its status is
still being disputed in Montana, however it is illegal in most countries across the world. Many
people strongly oppose euthanasia and physician–assisted suicide as it questions the ethics and
morality, but there are those who are in favor of it as it is a means of ending a life without pain.
Euthanasia derives from the Greek words, Eu and Thanatosis, meaning "Good Death" or a gentle and
