Persuasive Essay On Charter Schools
Open to all children, free of tuition, and does not have special entrance requirements, charter schools
believe that children should have the opportunity to achieve at a high level. When creating charter
schools, they focused on a desire to create greater flexibility for innovation within public education.
It was hoped that successful innovations could be adapted to benefit public education more broadly.
(NEA, 2017). Charter schools also, foster partnership between parents, teachers, and students in
hopes of creating an environment in which parents can be more involved, teachers are allowed to
innovate, and students are provided with structure they need to learn.
Unlike public schools, charter schools believe that smaller class sizes are important to student
learning. According to Homeschooling "Pros and Cons of Charter Schools" article, "Rather than
having a student attend a public school where students will be one among thirty to thirty–five other
pupils, charter school students will be one of twelve, sometimes fifteen other students" (2017). In a
classroom with many students, a teacher may not have the ability to spend sufficient quality time
one–on–one with every student . This may result in teachers having more of a challenge in
motivating each student and encouraging students individually. The teacher may not have the time
to recognize each student's particular challenges, passions, and talents (Homeschooling, 2017 ). In
addition, according to EF Academy's "10

Title of Speech: Mental Health Speaker Role/ Audience: Advocate the importance of addressing
mental health in schools. Thesis: Mental health is one of the largest problems students face on a
daily basis, and in order to best help them, we need to implement serious and frequent discussions
about mental health. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– INTRO: Attention
Getting Device: Every year, about 42.5 million American adults (or 18.2 percent of the total adult
population in the United States) suffers from some mental illness, enduring conditions such as
depression, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, statistics reveal. (newsweek.com) Purpose/Thesis:
To persuade you all the importance of including mental health awareness in schools. Credibility: I
have dealt with anxiety my entire life. Because I was not aware of what I had for so long and I
did not have any help, I suffered and so did multiple aspects of my academic career. Justification:
"The answer, based on the prevalence of mental illness globally, is stunning: 8 million people die
each year due to mental illness. That is, 8 million deaths could be averted if people with mental
illness were to die at the same rate as the general population." (NIMH) Preview of Main Points:
Today I will show you the dangers of not explicitly discussing mental health in school, what students
will gain from discussing mental health, and inform you what you can do to make this happen.
Transition: First, let us discuss the danger of not including mental health in students' education.
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– BODY: Need: According to nami.org,
approximately 1 in 5 youth aged 13–18 (21.4%) experiences a severe mental disorder at some point
during their life. For children aged 8–15, the estimate is 13%. Research has found that about 90% of
individuals who die by suicide experience a mental illness. Social anxiety affects about 15 million
individuals across America, most cases start around the age of 13. They often suffer anxiety,
difficulty focusing and social challenges. Half of them drop out of high school, in part because many
schools don't manage to meet their needs. (pbs.org) Although mental health illnesses affects so many
kids aged 6–17, a least

Persuasive Essay About Technology In School
Technology in School Technology is everywhere, it is involved in almost every part of our culture. It
affects how we live, work, play, and most importantly learn. With technology being such a
fundamental part of our lives and growing each day, it only makes sense that schools incorporate
technology in the classrooms. Even though many people support the use of technology in schools,
there are those that have concerns about the effectiveness of technology and whether or not it
undermines education to solely prepare students for the workforce. Despite the concerns, technology
is being integrated with classroom lessons daily, and proving how beneficial it is for student success.
I think that the use of technology in schools is one of the best decisions the school system could
have made. Living in a time period of accelerating change, I think that it is important to lean away
from the more traditional educational tactics of teaching and learning that may have worked in the
past. And start to transition into the more modern–day style of teaching and learning, which involves
technology. Students are always using technology. Whether it is them on their laptops, tablets, or
using their phones to surf the internet or an app, it is a vital part of their daily lives. I think that
because technology plays such a primary role in students' lives, the best way to connect with students
in the classroom, is to incorporate technology into some part of the lesson. I believe that

Persuasive Essay On High School Sports
High School sports have an enormous impact on athletes lives. Many benefits are received both on
and off the field. Such activities increase health, academic and social performances, along with
teaching life lessons and skills, human interaction skills and much more. There is also a direct
relationship between sports and academic participation and success. Through high school sports, the
athlete also develops unbreakable bonds with teammates the would be impossible to acquire
without all of the sacrifices teammates endure together. However, some people are against high
school sports. One of the biggest downfall to sport participation is the risk. Depending on the sport,
there is a high chance of injury that follows, even with the possibility of serious injury. The Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated an annual 135,000 traumatic brain injuries
among people ages 5–18 (Sarmiento, Kelly). Another argument against sports is time. Sports take
up a great deal of time and dedication, which makes it difficult to carry out other responsibilities
such as a job. Juggling between sports and school, along with any other activities, can make a
student struggle to keep up with everything going on in his or her life. Injuries are among one of
the top scares when it comes to high school sports. There has been many attempts to prevent these
almost inevitable injuries, but almost all of them come up short. However, these attempts have
still raised awareness and improved equipment which have resulted in a lower risk. For example,
the CDC responded to their study by passing the Children's Health Act of 2000. The act was
launched in September 2005 and was based around the "Heads Up: Concussion in High School
Sports" educational kit. In the first 3 months there were 20,000 kits distributed to help coach spread
awareness, teach other, and to recognize/ prevent concussions (Sarmiento, Kelly). Isaac Sellers, a
former high school football player, stated, "For the fact that brotherhood is developed through all
the pain in suffering put in the offseason makes everything worth it, no matter the outcome. Despite
having a concussion I continued to play because there will always be a risk of injury in everyday

Persuasive Speech On Recycling In Schools
School waste is up to 80 percent recyclable, so why not take advantage of this? Recycling in
schools is one of the many ways students can improve the environment. In the United States alone,
there are 98,817 public schools and 33,619 private schools. In total, around 59.8 million children are
being educated and should be educated more about the importance of recycling. Public schools
produce many materials that are fitting to be recycled or even composted. According to the
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, the average Minnesota student produces a half a pound of
waste each day. If Minnesota's statistics accounted for every state, almost 29,000 tons of waste
would be created each day by educated children. This is a problem that simply cannot be ignored
any longer.
Before the Industrial Revolution, which started in the 1700s, people used simple handheld tools and
machines to manufacture products in their own homes. People refused to throw away any goods
leftover from manufacturing. Instead, home manufacturers either restored, repurposed, and even
recycled the goods. This was also the time when ragman were introduced. Ragman would pay money
for any dwindled leftovers of goods they felt were worthy and reuse them too. Unfortunately, once
the Industrial Revolution, restoring, repurposing, and recycling all came to a sudden halt. Home
manufacturers no longer existed and were replaced with factory workers. They replaced handheld
tools and machines with high powered machines in

Stay in School, Persuasive Essay
To make good money as an adult, you must have a good job. To have a good job, you must get a
good education and go to college. To go to college, you have to go to high school and elementary
school. If you drop out or don't go to school at all, you'll go nowhere. Life today, money is
everything, and I think that the foundation of getting a good job is the education you get in the first
20–25 years of your life. School does not only teach subjects like English, Math, History, or Science,
but it also lets us meet new people and build good character. Stay in school, because it will help you
meet new people, build good character, and will also get you to a job that you will love. A lot of
jobs in today's society require you to talk to...show more content...
To become trustworthy, you have to work your way up to become trusted by your classmates and
/or close friends. If you are good at keeping secrets, that's one way to know you are trustworthy.
But this does not show your employer that you are trustworthy. It's just something that you can
tell your employer to show something about yourself that you are trustworthy. Also, some jobs
require resumes in their applications. If you have been fired in a previous job because of stealing
money or just being lazy, other jobs your try to apply for will be hard because they won't be able
to trust you. That's why staying at a good school will help you build the trustworthy, responsible
character you'll need to find a job you love. Loving what you do is something really important
because it is something you have to go through until you retire when you're around 65 years old. It
will really be hard to work in a job for over 30 years if you don't enjoy it. For example, if you don't
get paid as much as you want and you also don't enjoy what you do, it could be because of the
choices you made in school. If you want what's best for yourself that you know you love and you
are good at, you should take advantage of the education you have before you graduate college.
For example, if you know you are good at biology, and you think it is interesting, going towards the
medical field and being a doctor might be the best option for you. If you are good and love biology
but you

American high schools are bound to have plenty of sports for all students to play. So why not
pick a sport to play in high school? The reader will learn the many reasons why playing sports is a
vital part in a student's life. Highschool sports will allow students to become better educated and
get higher grades. By playing sports, students will be able to make more friends and enjoy school
more. Lastly, if students were to be able to get a sports scholarship for college, their parents will only
have to pay little to no money. High school sports are good for students because they can get a better
education, make more friends, and have a better chance at getting into a good college. High school
sports are good for students because they can get a better education. Playing sports helps students
get a better education because when they are focused on sports, they also become focused on
their school work. According to the video Sports How Much is Too Much, "playing multiple
sports seem to have a positive effect on their grades." This shows that high school sports are not a
distraction, but a way to get better grades in school. While students are playing high school sports,
they'll want to study more in school. In this quote, S:HMITM talks about how coaches want

Students learn about the importance of sports and how it has a positive effect in their lives. Sports
also help teach children about teamwork and sportsmanship and how it will help them in the future.
Although some people might argue that sports are making children stressed out and distracting them
from learning, it actually helps raise their grades and help them become more focused. Paying high
school sports not only allows students to handle pressure, but to also gain leadership

Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education
A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children
gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life.
Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to
explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children
to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their
educational journeys in a meaningful way. I hope to provide the children in my classroom an
accessible, inclusive and resource rich learning environment.

Inclusion
A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels
included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel
included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the
attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn
about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should
also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students.
Resources
Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a
parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies
including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important
to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the
classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as
complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix
the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be
empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration.
Future Classroom
My goal is to make my classroom a learning environment where all students can be

Persuasive Essay On High School Games
It is obvious that this game was out of control before this fight broke out. According to Murphy,
(2013) the two teams combined for a total of 20 penalties. I am not sure how many of these were
personal fouls or unsportsmanlike penalties but based on the postgame fight it seems that the
coaches and referees struggled to maintain control of the game.
The two teams remained separate after the game instead of shaking hands. It is custom in high school
football, and football at all levels, to shake the hand of your opponent. In the video, it is obvious that
the teams were told not to shake hands. Instead, the white team stands on the logo in the middle of
the field. The black team is heading toward the locker room when the fight breaks out.
Finally, the presence of police on the field suggests that tensions were high by the end of the game.
There are often police at high school football games but there were at least six officers on the field.
Maybe high school games have a higher police presence than I am used to in Illinois, but the number
of uniformed officers on the field suggests that this wasn't the first time that a football game between
these two teams escalated beyond normal physical football.
An athletic director would have a lot to sort out after an altercation like this. Besides the two
coaches fighting, there are many situations that need to be addressed in the video. First, a player
from the white team spears a player from the black team. This happens just above the

Persuasive Speech About K To 12
Should we stick with the traditional or try something new?
Let us go for another menu, K to 12 for the win!
K to 12 is the answer, an asset that will change our economy for the better. According to
Emmanuel Y. Angeles of CHED, we have to prepare our graduates to be globally competitive
before 2020 APEC Trade Regime. And the only way to achieve that is aligning our system of
education with those of other countries. The quality of education of our graduates really matters to
meet our development goals since the Philippines is having a hard time in its economy. In order to
be part of globalization and make our country one of the developed countries worldwide, we need to
focus on making our system of education better than ever.
In terms of education,...show more content...
First, the Department of Education (DepEd) said that one of the main weaknesses in our system of
education would be targeted and addressed by K to 12. Having a congested curriculum is very hard,
it was explained that Filipino students are hard–pressed to learn all they have to know in just 10
years, which is 12 years in other countries. As a result, there is no mastery, nor comprehension in
understanding their subjects. This is really a big problem because having this kind of curriculum
will just lessen the number of functionally literate people in our country. With the help of K to 12,
students won't have to rush themselves in learning their lessons. They will only learn what is
necessary and important in order for them to develop competencies that will make them
productive citizens of our country. Second, K to 12 will help the students for their preparation in
going to college. From DepEd's assessment, high school graduates are not that already prepared
for their college degree. This is the reason why most of the courses taken by the freshmen are
General Education subjects. With K to 12, the General Education courses will be included in the
high school curriculum so that they will not take it anymore when they reach college. They will
just focus on their major courses because they already been mastered those subjects way back high
school. The third one, it has been said that not all children are not into schooling like going to
school and learn (can be business oriented, they don't have the desire in) or others (maybe because of
financial problem) cannot continue their studies up to college. With our 10–year basic education
cycle, many students usually graduate from high school below 18 years old which is too young to
legally participate in the labor force or build up a business. In addition, because of the short time to

Persuasive Essay About Education
Education is something that most can receive for free at a young age, but once students graduate
from high school, free education is no longer provided to those who desire and need it, yet more
employers are looking for those with college education, and even worse, college is more expensive
than ever. This year, "only 34% of American jobs require ahigh school diploma or less, compared to
72% in the 1970s." (Carnevale & Smith, 2017) Education is a right that everyone should have, and it
is that way until after high school, when it matters the most. Education also supports the growth of
civil society, democracy, and political stability, allowing people to learn about their rights and
acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to exercise them. However, these things along with other
important information that comes into adulthood such as taxes are not even being taught in the
curriculum of high schools and therefore not preparing the students for some of the most challenging
yet ordinary tasks they will have to deal with in their adult lives. Instead, they must either learn these
skills themselves, from someone they know, or be among the few who are fortunate enough to get a
class with a teacher kind enough to teach them. The American education system is failing in
numerous areas, causing us to fall behind other countries, and further delaying the advancement of
our society.
Education should assist in giving people the skills they will need in life earlier to help them from

Persuasive Essay On After School Programs
After school, from 3 to 6 p.m, is a critical period of time in a child's life. After school programs
help keep kids safe and inspire them to learn during that period of time. After school programs are
organized programs that youth can participate in outside of a traditional school day. Enrolling
children in afterschool programs would provide them with benefits that unenrolled children would
not receive, such as reduce risky behavior and promote physical health. After school programs
provide a safe environment for children, while positively impacting their academics, safety, and their
future. Generally, after school programs are ran by schools, faith–based, or community–based
nonprofit organizations. Most programs are held directly after school, but can also be held on
weekends, over breaks or vacations, or on evenings. It is important to define what the purpose of
the program is going to be, whether it be academics, sports, special interests, or cultural activities.
Some other key factors of an after school program are high levels of children involvement, a mix of
academic and non academic skill building activities, and positive relationships between staff and
children. Successful programs have dedicated staff and structured routines for the children. When
after school programs are ran successfully, the children involved will receive positive benefits and
skills they will be able to use to better their future. In communities today, 11.3 million children take

Persuasive Essay On The Education System
Every student is bound to cheat at one point during their educational career. The reason why is to get
a higher grade. Educational Institutions value high grades rather than to value learning, that is what
turns students to cheat. Students are taught on how to take tests not learn about the material. But
that is to name one of the many factors that cause the current education system to fail. Therefore,
students are not getting the highest quality of education possible that is essentially the goal of every
educational institution.
Standardized testing is excessive and does not represent how much a student has learned, not only it
puts pressure on students it also puts pressure on teachers. On top of standardized testing, a lot of
schools are overcrowded thus decreases the attention that is needed for each student in order to
succeed. Not only there is a problem with testing and classroom sizes, teachers also are not well
educated and prepared for the expectations made by larger classroom sizes and the pressure to
educate students so that they can achieve high test scores. To further acknowledge the flaws of the
current education system, institutions should not only gauge a student's academic achievement
through their grades, it should also be through progress throughout a broader lifespan. Grades and
standardized tests only capture a frame on this lifespan therefore academic achievement should also
be measured through the improvement and progress of a student's learning.

Persuasive Speech About Stress Research Paper
As the students and youth of today, we will soon be the leading adults of tomorrow. It's an incredibly
daunting thing to anticipate. Throughout high school we are expected to independently start making
crucial, responsible decisions, all so that from the day we receive our diplomas, we are prepared for
adulthood. But seldom do we mention the lingering pressure that high school students constantly
feel to have absolutely everything together when, really, they don't.
High school seniors alone have a lot on their plate. We're busy meeting essay deadlines, trying to
understand derivatives, making sure we have enough credits to graduate and worrying about our
overall future–all while trying to balance a social life, possibly a job, and other responsibilities.
We're too young to be subjecting ourselves to this quantity of stress. It's just too much.
Seriously. According to the American Psychological Association, constant and persisting stress can
affect our physical and psychological well–being, causing problems like anxiety, insomnia, and a
weakened immune system. The same research also shows that stress can contribute to major
illnesses such as heart disease, depression, and obesity.
There are many proactive ways we can avoid the problems caused by our experiences with stress.
But perhaps the one surefire solution is also the most simple: ask for help!
There is an existing stigma rooted in fear and pride that causes people to stray away from asking

Persuasive Essay On Success In School
Being successful in school is a way to leave stress off the shoulders. Having the knowledge that
others do not is a good feeling. Getting high scores and not slacking off makes everyone proud.
Education should be the main priority. Even though after college there's no one to guide that
person throughout life. Everyone takes a different route whether it's good or bad. Most of the
students become successful in life, but many do not choose to become successful in life and rather
be on the streets doing their thing. Students Education Anaheim school's fail to encourage
students. They do not obligate their students to stay after school. There are many Anaheim
schools where they actually treat their students their age. KIPP schools make students
responsible at a certain age. KIPP schools have a way to encourage their students. Anaheim
schools scores are not as high perhaps even lower than what their average is. "Everyone says that
KIPP is hard, but once you get the hang of it, it's not really that hard" (13). Anaheim schools are
not equivalent to what KIPP schools are. KIPP schools are a struggle and a success. Anaheim
school is just a start of success. Gladwell argues that summer vacation negatively impact students
learning. Low income students show less growth other after the summer. Summer vacation impacts
students learning half the students are not involved in school programs over the summer. Kipp
students have a lot of responsibility with school. Kipp students have summer vacation programs
such as tutoring. Anaheim school kids do not show effort put into their work these kids stay up
late just to finish their homework. Half the students in Anaheim schools do not show up with
homework done. "What that extra credit time does allow for a more relaxed atmosphere" (10). A
much more relaxed atmosphere is what everyone wants. Spending extra time doing all the work
really does pay off. Another way to improve student's success in Anaheim school is for students to
know their ability and effort. "Many people assume that possessing superior intelligence or ability
is a recipe for success" (21). Success can be any accomplishments even if the intelligence matters or
not anyone can be success in many different ways.

Private Schools vs. Public Schools Essay
Parents often wonder how to start off their children's education. Depending on ones religion or
beliefs a private or public school is a choice most parents face. Of course, each school offers it's own
pros and con's the choice is simple. Public schools offer the best well rounding of a student.
While being enrolled in a public school, students are faced with real outside world problems, are
with a different blend of students each year, and are also introduced to the latest technology faster.

some intermediate private schools, Home Economics and Shop classes Brady 2 aren't even offered.
Unlike Public schools these classes have been offered since fifth or sixth grade and up. The
uniforms in private schools ones child will be wearing would not allow the child to show character
in his self. Uniforms may make life easier in the long run, but think of how many different ways in
style people express themselves. There's skater, prep, sporty, gothic, hippie, or whatever is

  • 2. Persuasive Essay On Charter Schools Open to all children, free of tuition, and does not have special entrance requirements, charter schools believe that children should have the opportunity to achieve at a high level. When creating charter schools, they focused on a desire to create greater flexibility for innovation within public education. It was hoped that successful innovations could be adapted to benefit public education more broadly. (NEA, 2017). Charter schools also, foster partnership between parents, teachers, and students in hopes of creating an environment in which parents can be more involved, teachers are allowed to innovate, and students are provided with structure they need to learn. Unlike public schools, charter schools believe that smaller class sizes are important to student learning. According to Homeschooling "Pros and Cons of Charter Schools" article, "Rather than having a student attend a public school where students will be one among thirty to thirty–five other pupils, charter school students will be one of twelve, sometimes fifteen other students" (2017). In a classroom with many students, a teacher may not have the ability to spend sufficient quality time one–on–one with every student . This may result in teachers having more of a challenge in motivating each student and encouraging students individually. The teacher may not have the time to recognize each student's particular challenges, passions, and talents (Homeschooling, 2017 ). In addition, according to EF Academy's "10 Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Title of Speech: Mental Health Speaker Role/ Audience: Advocate the importance of addressing mental health in schools. Thesis: Mental health is one of the largest problems students face on a daily basis, and in order to best help them, we need to implement serious and frequent discussions about mental health. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– INTRO: Attention Getting Device: Every year, about 42.5 million American adults (or 18.2 percent of the total adult population in the United States) suffers from some mental illness, enduring conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, statistics reveal. (newsweek.com) Purpose/Thesis: To persuade you all the importance of including mental health awareness in schools. Credibility: I have dealt with anxiety my entire life. Because I was not aware of what I had for so long and I did not have any help, I suffered and so did multiple aspects of my academic career. Justification: "The answer, based on the prevalence of mental illness globally, is stunning: 8 million people die each year due to mental illness. That is, 8 million deaths could be averted if people with mental illness were to die at the same rate as the general population." (NIMH) Preview of Main Points: Today I will show you the dangers of not explicitly discussing mental health in school, what students will gain from discussing mental health, and inform you what you can do to make this happen. Transition: First, let us discuss the danger of not including mental health in students' education. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– BODY: Need: According to nami.org, approximately 1 in 5 youth aged 13–18 (21.4%) experiences a severe mental disorder at some point during their life. For children aged 8–15, the estimate is 13%. Research has found that about 90% of individuals who die by suicide experience a mental illness. Social anxiety affects about 15 million individuals across America, most cases start around the age of 13. They often suffer anxiety, difficulty focusing and social challenges. Half of them drop out of high school, in part because many schools don't manage to meet their needs. • 4. Persuasive Essay About Technology In School Technology in School Technology is everywhere, it is involved in almost every part of our culture. It affects how we live, work, play, and most importantly learn. With technology being such a fundamental part of our lives and growing each day, it only makes sense that schools incorporate technology in the classrooms. Even though many people support the use of technology in schools, there are those that have concerns about the effectiveness of technology and whether or not it undermines education to solely prepare students for the workforce. Despite the concerns, technology is being integrated with classroom lessons daily, and proving how beneficial it is for student success. I think that the use of technology in schools is one of the best decisions the school system could have made. Living in a time period of accelerating change, I think that it is important to lean away from the more traditional educational tactics of teaching and learning that may have worked in the past. And start to transition into the more modern–day style of teaching and learning, which involves technology. Students are always using technology. Whether it is them on their laptops, tablets, or using their phones to surf the internet or an app, it is a vital part of their daily lives. I think that because technology plays such a primary role in students' lives, the best way to connect with students in the classroom, is to incorporate technology into some part of the lesson. I believe that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Persuasive Essay On High School Sports High School sports have an enormous impact on athletes lives. Many benefits are received both on and off the field. Such activities increase health, academic and social performances, along with teaching life lessons and skills, human interaction skills and much more. There is also a direct relationship between sports and academic participation and success. Through high school sports, the athlete also develops unbreakable bonds with teammates the would be impossible to acquire without all of the sacrifices teammates endure together. However, some people are against high school sports. One of the biggest downfall to sport participation is the risk. Depending on the sport, there is a high chance of injury that follows, even with the possibility of serious injury. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated an annual 135,000 traumatic brain injuries among people ages 5–18 (Sarmiento, Kelly). Another argument against sports is time. Sports take up a great deal of time and dedication, which makes it difficult to carry out other responsibilities such as a job. Juggling between sports and school, along with any other activities, can make a student struggle to keep up with everything going on in his or her life. Injuries are among one of the top scares when it comes to high school sports. There has been many attempts to prevent these almost inevitable injuries, but almost all of them come up short. However, these attempts have still raised awareness and improved equipment which have resulted in a lower risk. For example, the CDC responded to their study by passing the Children's Health Act of 2000. The act was launched in September 2005 and was based around the "Heads Up: Concussion in High School Sports" educational kit. In the first 3 months there were 20,000 kits distributed to help coach spread awareness, teach other, and to recognize/ prevent concussions (Sarmiento, Kelly). Isaac Sellers, a former high school football player, stated, "For the fact that brotherhood is developed through all the pain in suffering put in the offseason makes everything worth it, no matter the outcome. Despite having a concussion I continued to play because there will always be a risk of injury in everyday Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Speech On Recycling In Schools School waste is up to 80 percent recyclable, so why not take advantage of this? Recycling in schools is one of the many ways students can improve the environment. In the United States alone, there are 98,817 public schools and 33,619 private schools. In total, around 59.8 million children are being educated and should be educated more about the importance of recycling. Public schools produce many materials that are fitting to be recycled or even composted. According to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, the average Minnesota student produces a half a pound of waste each day. If Minnesota's statistics accounted for every state, almost 29,000 tons of waste would be created each day by educated children. This is a problem that simply cannot be ignored any longer. Before the Industrial Revolution, which started in the 1700s, people used simple handheld tools and machines to manufacture products in their own homes. People refused to throw away any goods leftover from manufacturing. Instead, home manufacturers either restored, repurposed, and even recycled the goods. This was also the time when ragman were introduced. Ragman would pay money for any dwindled leftovers of goods they felt were worthy and reuse them too. Unfortunately, once the Industrial Revolution, restoring, repurposing, and recycling all came to a sudden halt. Home manufacturers no longer existed and were replaced with factory workers. They replaced handheld tools and machines with high powered machines in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Stay in School, Persuasive Essay To make good money as an adult, you must have a good job. To have a good job, you must get a good education and go to college. To go to college, you have to go to high school and elementary school. If you drop out or don't go to school at all, you'll go nowhere. Life today, money is everything, and I think that the foundation of getting a good job is the education you get in the first 20–25 years of your life. School does not only teach subjects like English, Math, History, or Science, but it also lets us meet new people and build good character. Stay in school, because it will help you meet new people, build good character, and will also get you to a job that you will love. A lot of jobs in today's society require you to talk to...show more content... To become trustworthy, you have to work your way up to become trusted by your classmates and /or close friends. If you are good at keeping secrets, that's one way to know you are trustworthy. But this does not show your employer that you are trustworthy. It's just something that you can tell your employer to show something about yourself that you are trustworthy. Also, some jobs require resumes in their applications. If you have been fired in a previous job because of stealing money or just being lazy, other jobs your try to apply for will be hard because they won't be able to trust you. That's why staying at a good school will help you build the trustworthy, responsible character you'll need to find a job you love. Loving what you do is something really important because it is something you have to go through until you retire when you're around 65 years old. It will really be hard to work in a job for over 30 years if you don't enjoy it. For example, if you don't get paid as much as you want and you also don't enjoy what you do, it could be because of the choices you made in school. If you want what's best for yourself that you know you love and you are good at, you should take advantage of the education you have before you graduate college. For example, if you know you are good at biology, and you think it is interesting, going towards the medical field and being a doctor might be the best option for you. If you are good and love biology but you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Persuasive Essay About Sports In High School American high schools are bound to have plenty of sports for all students to play. So why not pick a sport to play in high school? The reader will learn the many reasons why playing sports is a vital part in a student's life. Highschool sports will allow students to become better educated and get higher grades. By playing sports, students will be able to make more friends and enjoy school more. Lastly, if students were to be able to get a sports scholarship for college, their parents will only have to pay little to no money. High school sports are good for students because they can get a better education, make more friends, and have a better chance at getting into a good college. High school sports are good for students because they can get a better education. Playing sports helps students get a better education because when they are focused on sports, they also become focused on their school work. According to the video Sports How Much is Too Much, "playing multiple sports seem to have a positive effect on their grades." This shows that high school sports are not a distraction, but a way to get better grades in school. While students are playing high school sports, they'll want to study more in school. Students learn about the importance of sports and how it has a positive effect in their lives. Sports also help teach children about teamwork and sportsmanship and how it will help them in the future. • 9. Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life. Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their educational journeys in a meaningful way. I hope to provide the children in my classroom an accessible, inclusive and resource rich learning environment. Access Access to a reliable, equitable and high–quality education can has a lasting positive effect on...show more content... Inclusion A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students. Resources Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration. • 10. Persuasive Essay On High School Games It is obvious that this game was out of control before this fight broke out. According to Murphy, (2013) the two teams combined for a total of 20 penalties. I am not sure how many of these were personal fouls or unsportsmanlike penalties but based on the postgame fight it seems that the coaches and referees struggled to maintain control of the game. The two teams remained separate after the game instead of shaking hands. It is custom in high school football, and football at all levels, to shake the hand of your opponent. In the video, it is obvious that the teams were told not to shake hands. Instead, the white team stands on the logo in the middle of the field. The black team is heading toward the locker room when the fight breaks out. Finally, the presence of police on the field suggests that tensions were high by the end of the game. There are often police at high school football games but there were at least six officers on the field. Maybe high school games have a higher police presence than I am used to in Illinois, but the number of uniformed officers on the field suggests that this wasn't the first time that a football game between these two teams escalated beyond normal physical football. An athletic director would have a lot to sort out after an altercation like this. Besides the two coaches fighting, there are many situations that need to be addressed in the video. First, a player from the white team spears a player from the black team. This happens just above the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Persuasive Speech About K To 12 Should we stick with the traditional or try something new? Let us go for another menu, K to 12 for the win! K to 12 is the answer, an asset that will change our economy for the better. According to Emmanuel Y. Angeles of CHED, we have to prepare our graduates to be globally competitive before 2020 APEC Trade Regime. And the only way to achieve that is aligning our system of education with those of other countries. The quality of education of our graduates really matters to meet our development goals since the Philippines is having a hard time in its economy. In order to be part of globalization and make our country one of the developed countries worldwide, we need to focus on making our system of education better than ever. In terms of education,...show more content... First, the Department of Education (DepEd) said that one of the main weaknesses in our system of education would be targeted and addressed by K to 12. Having a congested curriculum is very hard, it was explained that Filipino students are hard–pressed to learn all they have to know in just 10 years, which is 12 years in other countries. As a result, there is no mastery, nor comprehension in understanding their subjects. This is really a big problem because having this kind of curriculum will just lessen the number of functionally literate people in our country. With the help of K to 12, students won't have to rush themselves in learning their lessons. They will only learn what is necessary and important in order for them to develop competencies that will make them productive citizens of our country. Second, K to 12 will help the students for their preparation in going to college. From DepEd's assessment, high school graduates are not that already prepared for their college degree. This is the reason why most of the courses taken by the freshmen are General Education subjects. With K to 12, the General Education courses will be included in the high school curriculum so that they will not take it anymore when they reach college. They will just focus on their major courses because they already been mastered those subjects way back high school. The third one, it has been said that not all children are not into schooling like going to school and learn (can be business oriented, they don't have the desire in) or others (maybe because of financial problem) cannot continue their studies up to college. With our 10–year basic education cycle, many students usually graduate from high school below 18 years old which is too young to legally participate in the labor force or build up a business. In addition, because of the short time to learn Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Persuasive Essay About Education Education is something that most can receive for free at a young age, but once students graduate from high school, free education is no longer provided to those who desire and need it, yet more employers are looking for those with college education, and even worse, college is more expensive than ever. This year, "only 34% of American jobs require ahigh school diploma or less, compared to 72% in the 1970s." (Carnevale & Smith, 2017) Education is a right that everyone should have, and it is that way until after high school, when it matters the most. Education also supports the growth of civil society, democracy, and political stability, allowing people to learn about their rights and acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to exercise them. However, these things along with other important information that comes into adulthood such as taxes are not even being taught in the curriculum of high schools and therefore not preparing the students for some of the most challenging yet ordinary tasks they will have to deal with in their adult lives. Instead, they must either learn these skills themselves, from someone they know, or be among the few who are fortunate enough to get a class with a teacher kind enough to teach them. The American education system is failing in numerous areas, causing us to fall behind other countries, and further delaying the advancement of our society. Education should assist in giving people the skills they will need in life earlier to help them from Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Persuasive Essay On After School Programs After school, from 3 to 6 p.m, is a critical period of time in a child's life. After school programs help keep kids safe and inspire them to learn during that period of time. After school programs are organized programs that youth can participate in outside of a traditional school day. Enrolling children in afterschool programs would provide them with benefits that unenrolled children would not receive, such as reduce risky behavior and promote physical health. After school programs provide a safe environment for children, while positively impacting their academics, safety, and their future. Generally, after school programs are ran by schools, faith–based, or community–based nonprofit organizations. Most programs are held directly after school, but can also be held on weekends, over breaks or vacations, or on evenings. It is important to define what the purpose of the program is going to be, whether it be academics, sports, special interests, or cultural activities. Some other key factors of an after school program are high levels of children involvement, a mix of academic and non academic skill building activities, and positive relationships between staff and children. • 14. Persuasive Essay On The Education System Every student is bound to cheat at one point during their educational career. The reason why is to get a higher grade. Educational Institutions value high grades rather than to value learning, that is what turns students to cheat. Students are taught on how to take tests not learn about the material. But that is to name one of the many factors that cause the current education system to fail. Therefore, students are not getting the highest quality of education possible that is essentially the goal of every educational institution. Standardized testing is excessive and does not represent how much a student has learned, not only it puts pressure on students it also puts pressure on teachers. On top of standardized testing, a lot of schools are overcrowded thus decreases the attention that is needed for each student in order to succeed. Not only there is a problem with testing and classroom sizes, teachers also are not well educated and prepared for the expectations made by larger classroom sizes and the pressure to educate students so that they can achieve high test scores. To further acknowledge the flaws of the current education system, institutions should not only gauge a student's academic achievement through their grades, it should also be through progress throughout a broader lifespan. Grades and standardized tests only capture a frame on this lifespan therefore academic achievement should also be measured through the improvement and progress of a student's learning. We're too young to be subjecting ourselves to this quantity of stress. It's just too much. Seriously. According to the American Psychological Association, constant and persisting stress can affect our physical and psychological well–being, causing problems like anxiety, insomnia, and a weakened immune system. The same research also shows that stress can contribute to major illnesses such as heart disease, depression, and obesity. There are many proactive ways we can avoid the problems caused by our experiences with stress. But perhaps the one surefire solution is also the most simple: ask for help! There is an existing stigma rooted in fear and pride that causes people to stray away from asking others for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
