These test shots are of myself as I wanted to experiment with the camera on a tripod to see if I could get a good enough effect, this then allows me to include myself in the “band” photos on the double page spread. I wanted to try and include different hair colours so I have chosen red, purple-tinted and blonde. I think the tripod method worked quite well for these photos and I will probably take some more in a group using it.

4. One of my ideas of making it obvious that it’s a music based magazine was to include an acoustic guitar somewhere within the person on the front cover. I thought it would be easiest to put it in the pupil of the eye so this is how it turned out. I quite like the quirkiness but it depends whether on my final images the pupil is big enough to fit a guitar on it. I will have to print off a rough copy to see if it’s visible and worth creating. Otherwise I may experiment with other ideas. (Examples of other photos with this edit are on the two following slides.)
