Issues By Julia Michaels
The first song I am introducing on my soundtrack is Issues by Julia Michaels. Throughout Hannah's life she had many issues she needed to overcome.
During all the events Hannah was going through, she needed to have a real friend that she could vent to, but she did not have anyone to go to. Hannah
only had one real friend named Kat, but she moved away the summer before the freshman year of high school. Hannah genuinely thought her best
friend for life would be Jessica, but that quickly changed within a few weeks of school. When Jessica slapped/scratched Hannah, it was pretty clear that
their friendship was over, but if they had resolved that issue and continue being friends, could Hannah still be alive? Hannah needed a friend to talk
about Tyler, Justin, Bryce and many more, but she never got that. Two lines that stands out in the lyrics of the song Issues is, "Yeah, I got issues...
And one of them is how bad I need you." These lines specifically point out how bad Hannah needed Jessica in their freshman to junior years. ... Show

The first four lines talk about how the artist has made up her mind about what she is going to do next. When Hannah started to plan out how she was
going to make the tapes and eventually commit suicide, she already had her mind set, so she did not need to continue on with her life. Throughout the
song, the lyrics, "Should I give up... Or should I just keep chasing pavements?... Even if it leads nowhere..." keep repeating itself over and over again. I
think Hannah had deeply thought about living her life and these lyrics show how she thought about advancing on. Chasing the pavements of the streets
are a perfect example of life going on and on, but depending on which path Hannah took, her life got cut

Animes Research Paper
Music to the Ears After a stressful week of school and work, it is finally the weekend. People often do many activities to have fun or feel
productive during the weekend. Similar to myself, I watched an anime over the weekend. Animes are animated TV shows produced by Japanese
companies. Watching animes on my weekends relieves the stress from school, but also can change the point of my views seen in society. A prime
example of an anime I watched this weekend was Your Lie In April. Its Japanese name is Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. Your Lie In April is a story
about a young boy name Kousei Arima, who is a prodigy pianist and what lies ahead is his path to his future. In this journey, Arima faces thedeath of
his mother, which shakes Arima's world, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The people say that the anime's pacing is too slow and should be faster. Because the anime is 22 episodes, the anime has to be slower. I agree to this,
the anime is way too slow. However, the music that is being played by Arima and Kaori makes up for the pacing. Their music of them playing the piano
and violin brings harmony and beauty to this anime. Listening to the soundtrack of this anime brings good things to the ears. Also, a counter to the
slow pacing is the animations of the anime. Combining animations with the soundtracks brings beauty to the eye. They entwine together to make the

The Influence Of Music On Broadway
Broadway Music has always been an important and impactful thing in my life. It is one of the only constants that I have and is the reason I'm in band
and other musical organizations. My musical taste ranges incredibly wide, but one of the most influencing genres of music is Broadway music or
"show tunes." Broadway music is not confined to one specific "genre" but exceeds all kinds of music. Broadway performers are able to showcase raw
emotions in their voice and on their face that makes you feel the emotion with them. The mood of the song can be joyful, depressing, or downright
angry, and the emotion will be felt within the audience because of the performers' actions. Musical theatre is an interest that I've had for years, all

Gladiator, by Ridley Scott
Who doesn't love a movie where the protagonist is off on a quest for revenge in numerous action sequences for his taste of sweet, sweet revenge?
When breaking films into this type of category, one film that stands out among the rest has to be Gladiator. Gladiator can be argued as one of the
greatest action movies of all time, and for good reasons. The soundtrack, dialogue, and characters have no equal in the revenge action category of film,
and can be considered tops of pure action films. Gladiator is a perfectly well rounded movie that adds the best of all worlds to create the masterpiece
seen today. Ridley Scott's masterpiece, Gladiator, was released to the public in 2000. Received with initial success and regarded as one of the best ...

The soundtrack has received critical acclaim from numerous reviews and was a best seller, selling millions of copies of the soundtrack alone to
anxious listeners. The songs helped set the pace of the movie and made a good movie into an excellent movie. Some of the favorite songs from the
soundtrack include "The Battle," "Elysium," and the favorite "Now We Are Free." Mixing a combination of soft melodies and ballads, with battle
waltzes, the soundtrack covered all ground and provides future composers the groundwork for future war epics. While Hans Zimmer gets most of the
credit and praise for Gladiator's score, he could not do it alone without Lisa Gerrard, who co–composed the score and provided the vocals. This
soundtrack was so well received that it was nominated for an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award for best score, and won a Golden Globe for
best original score. Compared to other action films, Gladiator is hard to top. As a reviewer of the soundtrack, Roko Zaper, said Gladiator, "By the
very nature of the film itself, the score to Gladiator is perhaps hard to grasp for some, but in it Zimmer and Gerrard have created a score that
transgresses its genre and brings the music into an unforgettable arena, an Elysium of drama if you will." As Zaper said, Gladiator separates and goes
past any other action soundtrack. Gladiator's soundtrack

My Musical Theatre
Throughout my entire life I have never had any real interest in musical theatre. One time when I was in about 5th grade, my grandfather took me, my
brother and my cousin to a showing of the "Nutcracker." Let me tell you, I tried my hardest, I really tried, but I couldn't stay awake for the entire
performance. This experience I had put a bad taste in my mouth as for the next several years, I never attended another musical theatre event.
One day in the spring, I was going through Golden Bear Advising, and I saw that Berkeley recommended that everyone should listen to the Hamilton
soundtrack. I didn't know much about the musical other than that a couple of my friends in my high school's theatre company listened to it. My first
thought was that it must be better than the Nutcracker, so I decided I'd give it a chance. About 15 seconds into "Alexander Hamilton" I remember
saying out loud, "hmm wow, this bumps!" My first time listening to the soundtrack, I didn't listen to it all the way through, but I was definitely hooked
–– I wanted to keep listening. Over the summer, whenever I'd go on long car rides, I'd try to listen to the soundtrack. To be honest, before I listened to
the soundtrack, I didn't think that I would like it, simply because I wasn't a fan of musical theatre. However, I was blown away and thoroughly the
music, the way in which it was presented and the story that was told.
What sticks out to me about the soundtrack is that it kept my attention because at the end

Technical Analysis : The Hunger Games
Technical Analysis: The Hunger Games Emotions are powerful tools and can be expressed in a multitude of ways, but an extremely effective tool of
conveying emotions is through soundtrack. A soundtrack is not only entertaining for an audience, but also can give them insight on what a character is
feeling. A prime example of conveying emotions through soundtrack is in thefilm adaptation of The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games novel is hard
to effectively portray through a film because the writers and producers are limited in what they can do to. They are expected to, both, keep Katniss'
hard exterior and expose her inner thoughts and feelings. Although subtle, the use of soundtrack, diegetic sounds, and non–diegetic sounds within the
film adaptation prove to be effective tools in helping the audience to relate to Katniss Everdean and to let them explore the deeper character beyond her
expressionless exterior. The use of sound in The Hunger Games film adaptation provides the only insight into Katniss' inner feelings and emotions,
whereas the novel lets people know her thoughts explicitly through first person point of view. Something that is very prominent throughout the entire
movie is the use of supporting non–diegetic sound. A scene that sticks out in this category is when Katniss is performing for the important capitol
officials in order to receive her score. It begins in a very suspenseful and subtle manner with light music, which is an accurate representation of how

Inception By John Williams: Movie Analysis
Before I did my research, I had never heard of John Williams and Randy Newman, but afterwards, I realized, not only have I seen their work, I
LOVE their work. I had no idea that John Williams was responsible for composing the soundtracks for Harry Potter, Star Wars, Superman, Jaws,
Jurassic Park, and so many more. This one man was behind making all of these movies come alive with amazing soundtracks. Randy Newman is just
as impressive with composing the music for movies like Toy Story, Monsters Inc., A Bug's Life, Cars, and The Princess and the Frog. Hearing songs
from those movies can instantly transport me back to my childhood. For this week's viewing, I chose to watch Inception. The key concept that I

2-Chainz Target Audience
Christian Little Professor Amy Porter English 9/14/14 Fast and furious 5 was a very successful movie that was released by universal studios. It
was a release to a very successful series of Fast and Furious movies. The movie trailer for the movie was a very catchy and attention grabbing
trailer. The Fast and Furious 6 trailer was successful because of using ethos, the soundtrack heard, and its use of displaying what's seen. I believe
that his trailer hit its target audience with this ad. The target audience for this trailer is a wide variety of a specific person. The larger audience is the
person who loves the action films and movies. The audience within this would be car lovers, people who enjoy explosions, people who love the main

There are some things however that it could have done a lot better. Like for example, it could have shown some scenes a little longer. If I am
someone who has never seen a Fast and Furious movie, I wouldn't know what going on in the movie. They showed some very good parts but they
didn't show enough to make me thin =k that I knew what was going on. Another thing was that they cut very fast and very often. I didn't like how
it cut to black screen. The transitions didn't seem smooth and it seemed really sharp and like it had to be perfect. There were also some scenes
that weren't age appropriate. I know the beginning is a little graphic for younger people. They also didn't show a lot of racing scenes. I fell like
that's a huge part of what Fast and Furious is about and there weren't a lot of races. There were cares that could do cool things like take down a
plane but not a lot of racing. I'm sure there is lots more in the movie but I wish I could have seen a little more of that during the movie. That's really
all the negative I have to say about the ad that was shown. In my opinion, this was a very successful add. It show enough to keep you guessing and
to keep your attention. It stayed focused on its main goal and that was to sell the movie and its image. I think it is clear that it was able to do that due
to the fact that there is another Fast and Furious that was released. This was a very successful TV ad and it was a great

The Princess Diaries Vs. The Journey
To begin with, The Princess Diaries soundtrack was empowering and would appeal to young adults. Furthermore, each song discusses a problem or
memory that adolescents may be experiencing in this stage of their lives. One song called "Supergirl!" described how a young girl was able to be
superwoman and save everyone around her but, she feels lonely because there isn't anyone that is able to save her. The girl is silently crying out for
help but, no one is able to see the signs of distress. A large number of young women can relate to this song because they believe that they are showing
clear signs of needing help but, they continue to be ignored by society. Furthermore, another song called "Ain't Nuthin' But a She Thing" discusses how
powerful women are and how they have the ability to conquer the world. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, a song called "The Journey" discusses the journey of self–identification. It is relatable because teenagers are constantly changing and trying
to find out who they are in life. In contrast, the second soundtrack The Princess Diaries: Royal Engagement is completely different. Each song
discusses rebellion or teens finding the courage to think for themselves. The song called "Breakaway" is encouraging teens to break away from all
of the negativity and take risks in life. This song is telling adolescents to be free, travel to new places, and enjoy the things that life has to offer. The
key to life is to be happy as much as possible and live a life without any regrets. Furthermore, a song called "I Decide" implies that adolescents should
rebel against authority and do what makes them happy. They shouldn't be bound by rules or have restricted access to experience new things. The song
tells teens that it is okay to lead their own lives and live by their own

Soundtrack Of My Life Essay
The soundtrack of my life My life like everyone else's is full of ups and downs, maybe I had so many downs, but it is important for me, as it made
me the person I am today; strong, responsible and independent most of the times, I appreciate any help given to me and most of the times I try to
offer it because I have been through a lot of situations when I needed help and I did not find any, that is why my first soundtrack I am going to

favorite track "You are not the big fish no more, you are what they are feeding on So what are you gonna do when the world do not orbit around

world will not stop for me just to grieve about my sorrows, so no matter how bad my situation is there is always a way out and a chance to get up
again This song has a close place to my heart because it defines my identity as a Coptic orthodox Christian which sometimes make me an outsider but
I am absolutely happy and proud to be defined that way, because defining me as a stranger means that I belong somewhere else to a different world

The Great Gatsby Soundtrack Analysis
The soundtrack made the film The Great Gatsby such a huge success. The artists were specially chosen by the producer Anton Monsted to
compliment the novel. The artists integrated the intense emotional feelings described in the book as well as direct quotations into their songs.
This helps the music better fit the novel. It also blends genres such as today's hip hop and 1920's Jazz in an incredible way. The soundtrack was
beautiful and flattered the movie while incorporating the books themes and imagery. Interviews were later given to discuss the filmmaking and
production of the soundtrack, which gave background to the reasoning behind the music. Along with this were critical reviews as well. In a review
by Brendan Dempsey the soundtrack and specifically the song "No Church in the Wild" was analyzed. In an explanation behind some of the lines
Dempsey begins to say, "Rolling in a Rolls Royce Corniche: Gatsby's yellow Rolls convertible is a key symbol in the story." (Dempsey) This obvious
connection between the song lyrics and the novel is undeniable. "Cocaine seats/All white like I got the whole thing bleached/Drug dealer chic" (Jay Z,
Kanye West) The drug references and involvement in drug dealing is relative to Gatsby's past. He goes to say in the novel "'Oh, I've been in several
things,' he corrected himself. 'I was in the drug business and then I was in the oil business. But I'm not in either one now." It is easy to see that Jay–Z
and Kanye West wrote this song based off the descriptions from the novel. (Fitzgerald) Another line from the song that concerns the characters in the
novel is "I live by you, desire/I stand by you, walk through the fire/Your love, is my scripture" This shows the relationship between Gatsby and Daisy.
We are sure of this relationship in the novel because of descriptions such as the following:
"It was a strange coincidence," I said.
"But it wasn't a coincidence at all."
"Why not?"
"Gatsby bought that house so that Daisy would be just across the bay."
Then it had not been just the stars to which he had aspired on that June night. He came alive to me, delivered suddenly from the womb of his
purposeless splendor.
"He wants to know," continued Jordan, "if you'll invite Daisy to your

Quest For Camelot Analysis
In 1998, the film Quest for Camelot was released. It is an enjoyable children's movie, and the plot is as follows: when her father dies, Kayley
(voiced by Jessalyn Gilsig) is determined to become a knight of the Round Table. Finally she thinks she has the chance, when she hears that the
sword, Excalibur, has been stolen from king Arthur. Kayley goes on an adventure to find Excalibur, and return the sword to Camelot. On her way
she travels through the Forbidden Forest, and finds a blind hermit named Garrett (voiced by Cary Elwes). Garrett helps Kayley on her quest to find
the sword. Through many obstacles, they meet a two headed dragon; Devon (voiced by Eric Idle), and Cornwall (voiced by Don Rickles). The four

The songs from the movie tie all the scenes together, and help explain the feelings of the characters. When Kayley sings, "On my Father's Wings",
it shows the love she has for her father, and how she wants to make him proud. Further into the movie we hear a song from Garrett. The song he
sings, "I Stand Alone", emphasizes how he can take care of himself, and that he doesn't need anybody else. Devon, and Cornwall sing the song "If I
Didn't Have You", which shows that they would rather not be their own person and not be stuck at the hip all the time. This song also adds to the
comic of the movie, it shows the humor of the two of them. Overall the music in this movie helps explain the characters in the film, and makes it very
entertaining to watch. Even though Quest for Camelot is not seen as the greatest movie of all time, I think that it is an enjoyable movie. The catchy
soundtrack, developing characters, and the life lessons that are taught all support the reason to think of this movie as one to watch. I would
recommend this movie to anyone who wants a bit of a laugh, and just be

Perks Of Being A Wallflower Reflection
The summer before 7th grade I was introduced to the movie, Perks Of Being A Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky. I label this movie the most
influential piece of art that I have ever been exposed to as it allowed me to familiarize myself with characters who held traits I'd recognized in myself
long before but hadn't gotten the opportunity to learn. The movie followed an incoming high school freshman, Charlie, and a group of outcast seniors
he befriended– Sam, Patrick, Mary Elizabeth, and Alice– all of whom, were characters who helped shape me into the person I am today.

Instead of only watching the movie because I wanted a sense comfort I had struggled in finding before, I watched it with a more mature mindframe.
One of the key components in Perks Of Being A Wallflower isthe Rocky Horror Picture Show. In the movie the characters put on a live performance
of Rocky Horror weekly. The show plays a big part in some of the characters lives and it started to play a huge role in mine once I payed more
attention to it. The more I watched and listened to the story the more I was intrigued. Rocky Horror brought on a lot of firsts for me. It was the first
musical I had watched all the way through and enjoyed everything I saw. This lead me to find some of my favorite shows and movies today, like
RENT and Glee. Rocky Horror also introduced me to the first transgender character I'd ever seen. Granted, Dr. Frank–N–Furter probably wasn't the
best role model for a fourteen year old, but I was mesmerized by the sheer existence of a happy community existing of people who were outcasts
and shunned away from society. Rocky Horror also showed in depth how people can change when exposed to new things. Rocky Horror Picture
Show starts with a conservative couple, Brad and Janet, who are terrified to be anywhere around a house full of transgender people and by the end of
it they come out non–judgemental and tolerant. It's a prime example of how you can shift someone who

It doesn't have to be something that is huge deal. It can even be an impact on someone that will stay with them for a lifetime. This song called "I

Why would someone my age spend their time in a nursing home? I ask myself this all the time. I want to show people that not all young adults in

The first game of theirs that I was exposed to was Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, the 5th game in the Uncharted series. The realistic approach

can have two specific directors: a technical director, whose focus is gameplay, and the creative director, who focuses on the story. Unlike movies,
multiple directors need to work together to blend the story and gameplay to keep players engaged. One of Naughty Dog's most popular games, and
possibly my favorite game, The Last of Us is a perfect blend of story and gameplay. The Last of Us fits into the survival horror genre in a zombie
apocalypse scenario, limiting the player's resources to fight and defend themselves which works effectively within the story. It develops every

My Passion Of Music As A Passion For Music
In the Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter Quill, played by Chris Pratt, had a love for music. It helped him grieve when his mom died and music
continued to be one of the most important things in his life. When he was fighting mutant aliens, he plugged in his headphones and let his life have a
soundtrack. Ever since I was little, like Peter Quill, I had a passion for music. Whether I was playing an instrument, singing, or just listening to it,
music has played a huge role in my life. It has helped me through the bad times and the good times. In my life, music has become a major part of my
identity.
It all began in junior high when I took a couple instruments for a test drive. I loved the way the sticks pounded on drums and the way the oboe
squeaked like a mouse. In the end, I chose the saxophone. I love the way my fingers glided over the keys as a jazzy flow of music poured out. Don't
get me wrong though because it took me a while before I fully became advanced. I give credit to my sister for my passion for music. I looked up to
her(even if I don't want to admit it). Filled with admiration, I witnessed her becoming drum major, being student director for the musical and getting
solos in choir. At one time, I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. Fast forward a couple years, she's currently at college to become a music teacher.
All throughout high school, music has been substantial part in my life. Being in Madrigals, a special singing group for the best

Film Music Evaluation
Perhaps because my father was a musician and because every day since I can remember music has been in the background or literally behind the
scene in every aspect of my life that makes prone to the tunes located in a film's soundtrack, but regardless I believe the music within a movie to be
one of its most important and integral aspects one which might consistently be taken for granted. As an audience, we are accustomed to watching a film
and analyzing the process and its creation undergoes. More than often the soundtrack is ignored. Perhaps the ability to break down a movie into
smaller clips and our focus on visual simulation is what makes sound unnoticeable. And where we pause a film to study its scenes, to study sound we
must dedicate our time to listen to the sounds which is itself an endeavor.
They say that a picture is speaks a thousand words. I say that where pictures and words stop words leave off music begins. Music like an epidemic is
silent, but can have a powerful effect. Whether, we are conscious of it or not, music adds a distinct dimension to film. Its successful incorporation as a

The Revenant is a very long and very intense movie. In the blockbuster, Leonardo DiCaprio plays Hugh Glass, a seemingly indestructible savage
machine. Glass survives the impossible on more than one occasion. In three scenes in particular, Glass is put through a climatic, thrilling situation.
The first scene is in a misty forest where Glass finds himself alone when he stumbles upon bear cubs and soon after is nearly mauled to death by the
mother bear. He escapes death when he was able to pull out his knife to kill the bear. Consequently, he is now in critical condition and is not able to
walk, move, or even talk. The next mind–blowing scene, Glass just rode his horse off a cliff while a blizzard encroaches him. His horse did not
survive the fall and the only thing to help Glass stay alive was his knife so he used it to gut the horse completely hollow then Glass removed all of his
clothes and crawled inside the horse to wait use its body heat to protect him from the harsh snow storm. Finally, the thought–to–be climax of the movie,
Glass finds the man who murdered his son while he helplessly watched, and Glass kills him in a long, bloody exchange of gunshots and knife wounds
and ultimately drags him in the nearby ice cold stream
I believe that this action packed blockbuster that gave Leonardo DiCaprio an Oscar is boring. I believe this not because it has a poor scenery or bad
acting, the acting is phenomenal and the scenery and special effects are very detailed and

Disney Soundtracks: Music Analysis
From time to time I listen to Disney Soundtracks. I would not say I listen to them often / all the time, but there are times when I can break out In
Summer and start singing it like it's my birthday. Being a 90's kid and growing up when Pocahontas and Mulan were the coolest things on Disney
Channel (aside from the awesome Disney Channel originals), I cannot help but be a child for a little bit when I listen to some of these film
soundtracks. Some are old and some are new, but here's my list of the best ones (I think). Nothing is better than listening to I'll Make A Man Out Of

The movie and the characters, especially Flynn Rider. I did not know I could find a cartoon character attractive, but there's a first for everything.
The move was so adorably cute and I saw this one on my own. I saw it on Netflix and it ended up being such a cute movie to me. It takes a lot to get
me to like cartoon movies or childish movies, but Disney pulls on those heart strings every time. 3. Pocahontas Soundtrack (1995) Do you know
the colors of the wind? Because I learned them from Pocahontas throughout my childhood. Also, she was the coolest person in the youth. I mean,
she gets to hang out in nature all day and sing with the animals? I mean, how cooler can you get. And, she even cared about her reservation area
and sang a whole song about it! She was absolutely the coolest person ever in Disney history. The second film was not a favorite, but the first one
will definitely go down in the books of coolest soundtrack ever to me. 4. Mulan Soundtrack (1998) I'LL MAKE A MAN OUT OF YOUUUUUUU
too Mulan, don't you worry your pretty little head about that! Just with that stated, that is enough said. I'll Make a Man Out of You = best song in
existence. Also, you have to know the whole song. You just have

The Soundtrack of My Life
Many people listen to different music, they may listen to many various artists. Every song makes the listener feel a different way. Songs may make the
listener think of something special or someone special. This may be called the soundtrack of their life. For many of these reasons the soundtrack of my
life is "Unconditionally" by Katy Perry.
The Song "Unconditionally" is sung by the singer Katy Perry. She released this song as the second single off of her 3rd studio album PRISM. The
song was released to the public on the date of October 16, 2013. "Unconditionally" was written by Katy Perry, Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald, Max

Research Paper On Cinema Paradiso
When I was little, I stumbled across the soundtrack of an Italian film titled Cinema Paradiso. I began to fall in love with the narrative aspects that were
portrayed through the music. Every time the soundtrack played, beauty and hope rushed through my veins. It felt as if I was being nurtured by its
warm–hearted tone. I would lie on my bed with my eyes shut, listening to the soundtrack for hours. I imagined myself conducting an orchestra in a
crowd filled auditorium, voicing my own stories. I knew that music was what I wanted to do and that it was my only escape from what I called home.
At the student recital at LSMSA junior year, I remember sitting on the edge of my seat, waiting impatiently for my performance to come. Inevitably, it
was my turn. I nervously walked on stage and saw the lights ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

played the piece that I'd practiced for over a year. The music began to unfold the events in my life that I couldn't explain: becoming damaged, battling
depression, and finding happiness. I grew up drowning in the stereotypical Asian expectations my parents had for me: earning academic/athletic
achievements, becoming a doctor, following family traditions, etc. Although my parents had these in mind for me, it just wasn't me. I wanted more

The Quality Film I Have Selected
EDITING MY PAPER
The quality film I have selected is "Goodfellas". I believe this is truly one of the best films created during its time period. A little information about
this movie before going into more detail can be: the starring of popular actors, along with the movie focusing upon one person, that person being
(Henry Hill). Throughout this paper I will be discussing things such as; the plot, acting, directing, originality of story, soundtrack, and other important
elements that occurred during the film. Towards the end of the paper, I will be explaining as to why this movie should be worthy of critical devotion.
For the plot in the "Goodfellas", it's centered on a young boy at the time called (Henry Hill.) At first it shows him ... Show more content on

After the death of Tommy everything fell apart. Jimmy turned his back on Henry leading to Henry later "ratting" on the organization. Overall, the plot
could be shown as; Henry working his way up through the system in the Mafia, it also shows his hardships throughout the movie. The movie also
introduced the life of a gangster during that time period, it showed how one day everything could be fine and the next not so well.
The acting in this film was excellent in my opinion. The three main characters: Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, and Robert De Niro all played their roles
phenomenally. The film was directed by Martin Scorsese. An interesting fact I found out was, Al Pacino was offered Niro's role and he turned it
down. I thought the characters played a great job on their roles. Majority of the actors in this movie had some sort of connection in gangster films. A
few of the actors in the "Goodfellas" were big stars in "The Sopranos" which I found to be intriguing. In all, the acting throughout this film in my
opinion was fantastic. Each actor played their role in a unique yet, spectacular way.
The Originality of the movie "Goodfellas" is based off the book "Wiseguy". These are two are very similar. Both the movie and the book have the
same settings and such. The setting is depicted in East Brooklyn. The character's personalities are also similar. Henry's true joy was hijacking and in
the movie he also enjoyed doing it. The book "Wiseguy" was published in 1985. The movie

Film Analysis Of The Great Gatsby
Director Baz Luhrmann's approach in producing The Great Gatsby was "If some people are going to hate it, why not go balls–out?" (Mensa, Time
Magazine) No matter what there would be a myriad of critics of The Great Gatsby soundtrack. Whether he followed the script entirely, used only
classical and jazz influences for the music or even produced a less intense film–someone was going to have a complaint. So why not give those who are
going to hate it something substantial to hold onto? That's just what he did; using his personal style of incorporating novel themed music with a
relative genre that's popular today. For The Great Gatsby, it was drawing inspiration from the Jazz Age and today's hip–hop, similar to Jazz in the sense
of it's uprise from the underground to becoming widely known and appreciated. Overall the soundtrack touches on old Jazz, party Jazz, and Hip Hop
in a way that reflects the behavior and luxury of the 1920s. As well as aspects of the characters in the novel, especially within the song $100 bill by
Jay–Z. Most of the soundtrack was altered and produced specifically for the film based on the novel. The producers of the film collaborated with
several artists, including Jay–Z, Lana Del Rey, and Florence+The Machine to develop instrumentals that flowed with the scenes. The co–producer and
supervisor Anton Monsted did not choose any song or artist by accident. He carefully researched the background and relativity of the plot and genre
for The Great Gatsby.

Queen Of The Damned By Anne Rice
Queen of the Damned
What was once a terrifying creature has now been turned into something that sparkles and seduces seventeen year old girls. Vampire movies have
really changed over the years, each having their own way of displaying vampires to their audiences. Anne Rice, the author of the book Queen of the
Damned, shows vampires in a way that most wouldn't consider normal. Bringing the immortal into the music culture allows Rice's main character
Lestat to feel on top of the world again. With a healthy balance of blood and death, this movie allows its audience to learn Lestat's history, while a dark
soundtrack provides the scenery. Allvampire movies include one thing that sets the plot in motion; they must keep their existence a secret no matter
what. Based on that one thing it can cause many different outcomes depending on the characters in the story. Queen of the Damned is what I like to
call a 'real' vampire movie. The soundtrack really sets up the movie during the death and the feeding scenes that are a must have in this certain kind of
movie. It 's not enough to simply have the present day information being set up, but having a good understanding on how the plot all came together
can make or break this genre. A vampire's back story allows an emotional connection with the main character which is something that makes the movie
even better. The audience wants to feel like they are actually in the movie and experiencing all the problems. Problems such as people

I really can't say that I associate any certain songs with happiness. Kind of like I said above, I like fast paced upbeat songs, they keep me in a good

songs are just automatic tear jerkers and hey really shouldn't be. I like songs that have good messages behind them. A lot of newer music hese days

In this song many ideas of morality are present, which shows that the actions of the American government was not always morally right. During this
time the U.S. send troops to Vietnam to fight a war that had no purpose, which emphasizes the protests of the American people.
Intro to Evidence: In this quote it underlines that one of the many mistakes the government was the Kent State shooting which killed four people.

(American Pie)
Explanation Sentences: The lyrics here were a peaceful protest that ended up with death for wanting change, which strengthens why the American
people were angered by the injustice. The Kent State shooting like many sad events during the 20th century had meaningful impact on people who
contributed to change, which gathers the idea of corrupt morality. Many songs during this time were on the worst sides of the American government
and the actions that led to death, which represents how inspiring songs were during this time.
Conclusion: Music of the 20th century had a desire for change that people were intrigued by that persuaded them to join the change

Analysis Of The Movie ' Dark Souls Ost '
Dark Souls OST
There was somewhat of a surprise for VGM listeners upon the release of the first trailer for Dark Souls, FromSoftware's spiritual successor to
Demon's souls. Even before any initial announcement was made, it was easy to recognize the work of veteran freelance composer Motoi Sakuraba,
his trademark compositional style being so integral. Known primarily for his virtuosic progressive rock compositions, Dark Souls was to be his first
fully orchestral work since the Baroque influenced Infinite Undiscovery nearly half a decade prior, and promised to be his bleakest – to match the
somber and sorrowful medieval inspired world of the 'Souls' series as previously defined by composer Shinsuke Kita. And there's good news for those
who may fear the presence of one of Sakuraba's frequent collaborators, the synth orchestra: all of the instruments are live. In addition, the grandeur of
the collection of strings and brass receive a helping voice from the surprise contribution of the Tokyo Philharmonic Chorus. So, let's listen and hear if
Motoi Sakuraba's step out of his typical area will stand up or stumble.
Motoi Sakuraba announces his presence with the grandiose opening theme "Prologue". Listeners familiar with the soundtrack to Valkyrie Profile 2 will
recognize the subtle build of harp and strings into an unlashing of full orchestral tutti. However, it's the next track that truly defines the bleaker timbre
of this soundtrack. "Firelink Shrine" is the piece for the

"Wind Guide You"– Composed by Jeremey Soule If the "Orchestral Suite to the Inner Light" is, in personal opinion, the most romantic instrumental to

just a feeling I have. The best way that I can describe it is that "Wind Guide You" is the retelling of a somber epic.
Every once in a while, I try my hand at freelance writing (purely as a hobby), and this piece is my go to in finding inspiration for my work. Jeremy
Soule's "Wind Guide You" was featured in the video gameThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and first appeared on the soundtrack album of the same name
in 2011. 5. "Memory" – Performed by Barbra Streisand When it comes to vocal music, I will confess that I typically listen to male artists. It's just
personal taste. For me, there are only three female vocalists that I could listen to for more than one or two songs. My favorite female vocalist?

The Great Gatsby By F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Great Gatsby Reimagined For Today's Society
The Great Gatsby (1925), the first novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, takes place during prohibition. As depicted in the novel, jazz and alcohol made
the culture in the early 20th century feel alive. The novel communicates how the culture was in New York City and why the main characterJay Gatsby
held parties so he could see his beloved debutante, Daisy Buchanan. But more importantly, the audience becomes more connected to the film entirely
through the music. These films contained leitmotifs and themes that communicate the human emotions and thoughts behind each character. In my
opinion, The Great Gatsby remains an extremely successful film because of its music and how it provides clues to the audience as to what obstacles
each character faces. Through themes and leitmotifs, the audience is able to predict what the characters truly desire. Several movies were created for
this novel, but I will focus on two, one released in 1974 and the other in 2013. The two films share similarities, but mostly, they are very different from
one another; in that, the music in the 1974 version possesses the old–fashioned bluesy–type music from the 1920's and attempts to give the audience a
clear view of what music in the early 20th century was actually like while the one 2013 version contains a more broad and modern musical feel that
connects with our culture and society today. As stated before, the novel, The Great Gatsby, was written

Summary Of Independent Reading Reflection
Independent Reading Reflections #1– Quote: "He had no idea what he was. Half of something, a quarter of something else, brown skin and black hair
like his dead mother, but with weird blue eyes like his father." Response: This is important to the development of the story because it gives us
descriptions as to what he looks like, so we can better visualize the character as the plot progresses. It also describes a little bit of what his father looks
like and what his dead mother used to look like. Questions: How did his mother die? How could his race effect the story? #2– Quote: "Wherever the
huge ships lay, scavenge gangs like nailer's swarmed like flies." Response: This is important because it gives us (the reader) much needed
background information to better visualize and understand the story. Most likely, his job will play a key role in both the story as it developes, and
Nailer's (the main character) development as a person. Questions: Why are there ships everywhere? When does this take place? (Future?) #3– Quote:
"If he'd thought about it too much, he didn't know why he saved his father either. It's not as if Richard Lopez has made his life any easier."
Response: I wonder if his father really does love him, but uses the booze to hide behind his conflicted emotions about losing his wife. This is a
similar relationship in the Outsiders between Ponyboy, and his brother Darry. Ponyboy can't tell if Darry loves him or not, because he is always
hiding his emotions from Ponyboy, for he is so hurt from his mother's and father's death. Maybe Nailer had a similar thought and that's why he chose
to save his dad. Questions: How will his dad change throughout the story if any? How will Nailer change throughout the story? #4– Quote: "They were
all looking at the water now. Hungry. "You think they even know were here?" Moon girl asked. Pima spat in the sand. "Were just flies on garbage
to people like that." Response: This quote reminds me a lot of the book "The Outsiders" due to the large social gap between poor people and rich
people. In this quote, a Clipper Ship (expensive ship for rich people) is sailing across the water, as the three main characters watch. One of the characters

Issues By Julia Michaels

  • 1. Issues By Julia Michaels The first song I am introducing on my soundtrack is Issues by Julia Michaels. Throughout Hannah's life she had many issues she needed to overcome. During all the events Hannah was going through, she needed to have a real friend that she could vent to, but she did not have anyone to go to. Hannah only had one real friend named Kat, but she moved away the summer before the freshman year of high school. Hannah genuinely thought her best friend for life would be Jessica, but that quickly changed within a few weeks of school. When Jessica slapped/scratched Hannah, it was pretty clear that their friendship was over, but if they had resolved that issue and continue being friends, could Hannah still be alive? Hannah needed a friend to talk about Tyler, Justin, Bryce and many more, but she never got that. Two lines that stands out in the lyrics of the song Issues is, "Yeah, I got issues... And one of them is how bad I need you." These lines specifically point out how bad Hannah needed Jessica in their freshman to junior years. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first four lines talk about how the artist has made up her mind about what she is going to do next. When Hannah started to plan out how she was going to make the tapes and eventually commit suicide, she already had her mind set, so she did not need to continue on with her life. Throughout the song, the lyrics, "Should I give up... Or should I just keep chasing pavements?... Even if it leads nowhere..." keep repeating itself over and over again. I think Hannah had deeply thought about living her life and these lyrics show how she thought about advancing on. Chasing the pavements of the streets are a perfect example of life going on and on, but depending on which path Hannah took, her life got cut ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Animes Research Paper Music to the Ears After a stressful week of school and work, it is finally the weekend. People often do many activities to have fun or feel productive during the weekend. Similar to myself, I watched an anime over the weekend. Animes are animated TV shows produced by Japanese companies. Watching animes on my weekends relieves the stress from school, but also can change the point of my views seen in society. A prime example of an anime I watched this weekend was Your Lie In April. Its Japanese name is Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. Your Lie In April is a story about a young boy name Kousei Arima, who is a prodigy pianist and what lies ahead is his path to his future. In this journey, Arima faces thedeath of his mother, which shakes Arima's world, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The people say that the anime's pacing is too slow and should be faster. Because the anime is 22 episodes, the anime has to be slower. I agree to this, the anime is way too slow. However, the music that is being played by Arima and Kaori makes up for the pacing. Their music of them playing the piano and violin brings harmony and beauty to this anime. Listening to the soundtrack of this anime brings good things to the ears. Also, a counter to the slow pacing is the animations of the anime. Combining animations with the soundtracks brings beauty to the eye. They entwine together to make the best out of the ... • 3. The Influence Of Music On Broadway Broadway Music has always been an important and impactful thing in my life. It is one of the only constants that I have and is the reason I'm in band and other musical organizations. My musical taste ranges incredibly wide, but one of the most influencing genres of music is Broadway music or "show tunes." Broadway music is not confined to one specific "genre" but exceeds all kinds of music. Broadway performers are able to showcase raw emotions in their voice and on their face that makes you feel the emotion with them. The mood of the song can be joyful, depressing, or downright angry, and the emotion will be felt within the audience because of the performers' actions. Musical theatre is an interest that I've had for years, all beginning with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Gladiator, by Ridley Scott Who doesn't love a movie where the protagonist is off on a quest for revenge in numerous action sequences for his taste of sweet, sweet revenge? When breaking films into this type of category, one film that stands out among the rest has to be Gladiator. Gladiator can be argued as one of the greatest action movies of all time, and for good reasons. The soundtrack, dialogue, and characters have no equal in the revenge action category of film, and can be considered tops of pure action films. Gladiator is a perfectly well rounded movie that adds the best of all worlds to create the masterpiece seen today. Ridley Scott's masterpiece, Gladiator, was released to the public in 2000. Received with initial success and regarded as one of the best ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The soundtrack has received critical acclaim from numerous reviews and was a best seller, selling millions of copies of the soundtrack alone to anxious listeners. The songs helped set the pace of the movie and made a good movie into an excellent movie. Some of the favorite songs from the soundtrack include "The Battle," "Elysium," and the favorite "Now We Are Free." Mixing a combination of soft melodies and ballads, with battle waltzes, the soundtrack covered all ground and provides future composers the groundwork for future war epics. While Hans Zimmer gets most of the credit and praise for Gladiator's score, he could not do it alone without Lisa Gerrard, who co–composed the score and provided the vocals. This soundtrack was so well received that it was nominated for an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award for best score, and won a Golden Globe for best original score. Compared to other action films, Gladiator is hard to top. As a reviewer of the soundtrack, Roko Zaper, said Gladiator, "By the very nature of the film itself, the score to Gladiator is perhaps hard to grasp for some, but in it Zimmer and Gerrard have created a score that transgresses its genre and brings the music into an unforgettable arena, an Elysium of drama if you will." As Zaper said, Gladiator separates and goes past any other action soundtrack. Gladiator's soundtrack ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. My Musical Theatre Throughout my entire life I have never had any real interest in musical theatre. One time when I was in about 5th grade, my grandfather took me, my brother and my cousin to a showing of the "Nutcracker." Let me tell you, I tried my hardest, I really tried, but I couldn't stay awake for the entire performance. This experience I had put a bad taste in my mouth as for the next several years, I never attended another musical theatre event. One day in the spring, I was going through Golden Bear Advising, and I saw that Berkeley recommended that everyone should listen to the Hamilton soundtrack. I didn't know much about the musical other than that a couple of my friends in my high school's theatre company listened to it. My first thought was that it must be better than the Nutcracker, so I decided I'd give it a chance. About 15 seconds into "Alexander Hamilton" I remember saying out loud, "hmm wow, this bumps!" My first time listening to the soundtrack, I didn't listen to it all the way through, but I was definitely hooked –– I wanted to keep listening. Over the summer, whenever I'd go on long car rides, I'd try to listen to the soundtrack. To be honest, before I listened to the soundtrack, I didn't think that I would like it, simply because I wasn't a fan of musical theatre. However, I was blown away and thoroughly the music, the way in which it was presented and the story that was told. What sticks out to me about the soundtrack is that it kept my attention because at the end ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Technical Analysis : The Hunger Games Technical Analysis: The Hunger Games Emotions are powerful tools and can be expressed in a multitude of ways, but an extremely effective tool of conveying emotions is through soundtrack. A soundtrack is not only entertaining for an audience, but also can give them insight on what a character is feeling. A prime example of conveying emotions through soundtrack is in thefilm adaptation of The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games novel is hard to effectively portray through a film because the writers and producers are limited in what they can do to. They are expected to, both, keep Katniss' hard exterior and expose her inner thoughts and feelings. Although subtle, the use of soundtrack, diegetic sounds, and non–diegetic sounds within the film adaptation prove to be effective tools in helping the audience to relate to Katniss Everdean and to let them explore the deeper character beyond her expressionless exterior. The use of sound in The Hunger Games film adaptation provides the only insight into Katniss' inner feelings and emotions, whereas the novel lets people know her thoughts explicitly through first person point of view. Something that is very prominent throughout the entire movie is the use of supporting non–diegetic sound. A scene that sticks out in this category is when Katniss is performing for the important capitol officials in order to receive her score. It begins in a very suspenseful and subtle manner with light music, which is an accurate representation of how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Inception By John Williams: Movie Analysis Before I did my research, I had never heard of John Williams and Randy Newman, but afterwards, I realized, not only have I seen their work, I LOVE their work. I had no idea that John Williams was responsible for composing the soundtracks for Harry Potter, Star Wars, Superman, Jaws, Jurassic Park, and so many more. This one man was behind making all of these movies come alive with amazing soundtracks. Randy Newman is just as impressive with composing the music for movies like Toy Story, Monsters Inc., A Bug's Life, Cars, and The Princess and the Frog. Hearing songs from those movies can instantly transport me back to my childhood. For this week's viewing, I chose to watch Inception. The key concept that I noticed in the movie was pitch, specifically ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. 2-Chainz Target Audience Christian Little Professor Amy Porter English 9/14/14 Fast and furious 5 was a very successful movie that was released by universal studios. It was a release to a very successful series of Fast and Furious movies. The movie trailer for the movie was a very catchy and attention grabbing trailer. The Fast and Furious 6 trailer was successful because of using ethos, the soundtrack heard, and its use of displaying what's seen. I believe that his trailer hit its target audience with this ad. The target audience for this trailer is a wide variety of a specific person. The larger audience is the person who loves the action films and movies. The audience within this would be car lovers, people who enjoy explosions, people who love the main actors,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are some things however that it could have done a lot better. Like for example, it could have shown some scenes a little longer. If I am someone who has never seen a Fast and Furious movie, I wouldn't know what going on in the movie. They showed some very good parts but they didn't show enough to make me thin =k that I knew what was going on. Another thing was that they cut very fast and very often. I didn't like how it cut to black screen. The transitions didn't seem smooth and it seemed really sharp and like it had to be perfect. There were also some scenes that weren't age appropriate. I know the beginning is a little graphic for younger people. They also didn't show a lot of racing scenes. I fell like that's a huge part of what Fast and Furious is about and there weren't a lot of races. There were cares that could do cool things like take down a plane but not a lot of racing. I'm sure there is lots more in the movie but I wish I could have seen a little more of that during the movie. That's really all the negative I have to say about the ad that was shown. In my opinion, this was a very successful add. It show enough to keep you guessing and to keep your attention. It stayed focused on its main goal and that was to sell the movie and its image. I think it is clear that it was able to do that due to the fact that there is another Fast and Furious that was released. This was a very successful TV ad and it was a great ... • 9. The Princess Diaries Vs. The Journey To begin with, The Princess Diaries soundtrack was empowering and would appeal to young adults. Furthermore, each song discusses a problem or memory that adolescents may be experiencing in this stage of their lives. One song called "Supergirl!" described how a young girl was able to be superwoman and save everyone around her but, she feels lonely because there isn't anyone that is able to save her. The girl is silently crying out for help but, no one is able to see the signs of distress. A large number of young women can relate to this song because they believe that they are showing clear signs of needing help but, they continue to be ignored by society. Furthermore, another song called "Ain't Nuthin' But a She Thing" discusses how powerful women are and how they have the ability to conquer the world. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, a song called "The Journey" discusses the journey of self–identification. It is relatable because teenagers are constantly changing and trying to find out who they are in life. In contrast, the second soundtrack The Princess Diaries: Royal Engagement is completely different. Each song discusses rebellion or teens finding the courage to think for themselves. The song called "Breakaway" is encouraging teens to break away from all of the negativity and take risks in life. This song is telling adolescents to be free, travel to new places, and enjoy the things that life has to offer. The key to life is to be happy as much as possible and live a life without any regrets. Furthermore, a song called "I Decide" implies that adolescents should rebel against authority and do what makes them happy. • 11. The Great Gatsby Soundtrack Analysis The soundtrack made the film The Great Gatsby such a huge success. The artists were specially chosen by the producer Anton Monsted to compliment the novel. The artists integrated the intense emotional feelings described in the book as well as direct quotations into their songs. This helps the music better fit the novel. It also blends genres such as today's hip hop and 1920's Jazz in an incredible way. The soundtrack was beautiful and flattered the movie while incorporating the books themes and imagery. Interviews were later given to discuss the filmmaking and production of the soundtrack, which gave background to the reasoning behind the music. Along with this were critical reviews as well. In a review by Brendan Dempsey the soundtrack and specifically the song "No Church in the Wild" was analyzed. In an explanation behind some of the lines Dempsey begins to say, "Rolling in a Rolls Royce Corniche: Gatsby's yellow Rolls convertible is a key symbol in the story." (Dempsey) This obvious connection between the song lyrics and the novel is undeniable. "Cocaine seats/All white like I got the whole thing bleached/Drug dealer chic" (Jay Z, Kanye West) The drug references and involvement in drug dealing is relative to Gatsby's past. He goes to say in the novel "'Oh, I've been in several things,' he corrected himself. 'I was in the drug business and then I was in the oil business. But I'm not in either one now." It is easy to see that Jay–Z and Kanye West wrote this song based off the descriptions from the novel. (Fitzgerald) Another line from the song that concerns the characters in the novel is "I live by you, desire/I stand by you, walk through the fire/Your love, is my scripture" This shows the relationship between Gatsby and Daisy. We are sure of this relationship in the novel because of descriptions such as the following: "It was a strange coincidence," I said. "But it wasn't a coincidence at all." "Why not?" "Gatsby bought that house so that Daisy would be just across the bay." Then it had not been just the stars to which he had aspired on that June night. He came alive to me, delivered suddenly from the womb of his purposeless splendor. "He wants to know," continued Jordan, "if you'll invite Daisy to your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Quest For Camelot Analysis In 1998, the film Quest for Camelot was released. It is an enjoyable children's movie, and the plot is as follows: when her father dies, Kayley (voiced by Jessalyn Gilsig) is determined to become a knight of the Round Table. Finally she thinks she has the chance, when she hears that the sword, Excalibur, has been stolen from king Arthur. Kayley goes on an adventure to find Excalibur, and return the sword to Camelot. On her way she travels through the Forbidden Forest, and finds a blind hermit named Garrett (voiced by Cary Elwes). Garrett helps Kayley on her quest to find the sword. Through many obstacles, they meet a two headed dragon; Devon (voiced by Eric Idle), and Cornwall (voiced by Don Rickles). The songs from the movie tie all the scenes together, and help explain the feelings of the characters. When Kayley sings, "On my Father's Wings", it shows the love she has for her father, and how she wants to make him proud. Further into the movie we hear a song from Garrett. The song he sings, "I Stand Alone", emphasizes how he can take care of himself, and that he doesn't need anybody else. Devon, and Cornwall sing the song "If I Didn't Have You", which shows that they would rather not be their own person and not be stuck at the hip all the time. This song also adds to the comic of the movie, it shows the humor of the two of them. Overall the music in this movie helps explain the characters in the film, and makes it very entertaining to watch. Even though Quest for Camelot is not seen as the greatest movie of all time, I think that it is an enjoyable movie. The catchy soundtrack, developing characters, and the life lessons that are taught all support the reason to think of this movie as one to watch. I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants a bit of a laugh, and just be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Perks Of Being A Wallflower Reflection The summer before 7th grade I was introduced to the movie, Perks Of Being A Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky. I label this movie the most influential piece of art that I have ever been exposed to as it allowed me to familiarize myself with characters who held traits I'd recognized in myself long before but hadn't gotten the opportunity to learn. The movie followed an incoming high school freshman, Charlie, and a group of outcast seniors he befriended– Sam, Patrick, Mary Elizabeth, and Alice– all of whom, were characters who helped shape me into the person I am today. Gay. I had heard the word before when I was younger, maybe eight or nine years old, from a sixth grader who had been spewing forbidden words left and right. I remember asking them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead of only watching the movie because I wanted a sense comfort I had struggled in finding before, I watched it with a more mature mindframe. One of the key components in Perks Of Being A Wallflower isthe Rocky Horror Picture Show. In the movie the characters put on a live performance of Rocky Horror weekly. The show plays a big part in some of the characters lives and it started to play a huge role in mine once I payed more attention to it. The more I watched and listened to the story the more I was intrigued. Rocky Horror brought on a lot of firsts for me. It was the first musical I had watched all the way through and enjoyed everything I saw. This lead me to find some of my favorite shows and movies today, like RENT and Glee. Rocky Horror also introduced me to the first transgender character I'd ever seen. Granted, Dr. Frank–N–Furter probably wasn't the best role model for a fourteen year old, but I was mesmerized by the sheer existence of a happy community existing of people who were outcasts and shunned away from society. Rocky Horror also showed in depth how people can change when exposed to new things. Rocky Horror Picture Show starts with a conservative couple, Brad and Janet, who are terrified to be anywhere around a house full of transgender people and by the end of it they come out non–judgemental and tolerant. With this mindset, I was inspired to volunteer at a nursing home. I know, right? Why would someone my age spend their time in a nursing home? I ask myself this all the time. I want to show people that not all young adults in my generation party all the time, or are up to no good. I went because I thought I would be helping them, I had no idea that I would become so attached to them and they were going to be the ones helping me. "I did, I've done, everything that I wanted, And it was more than I thought it would be I will leave my mark so everyone will know. I was here" (Beyonce 2011). One of Naughty Dog's most popular games, and possibly my favorite game, The Last of Us is a perfect blend of story and gameplay. The Last of Us fits into the survival horror genre in a zombie apocalypse scenario, limiting the player's resources to fight and defend themselves which works effectively within the story. It helped him grieve when his mom died and music continued to be one of the most important things in his life. When he was fighting mutant aliens, he plugged in his headphones and let his life have a soundtrack. Ever since I was little, like Peter Quill, I had a passion for music. Whether I was playing an instrument, singing, or just listening to it, music has played a huge role in my life. It has helped me through the bad times and the good times. In my life, music has become a major part of my identity. It all began in junior high when I took a couple instruments for a test drive. I loved the way the sticks pounded on drums and the way the oboe squeaked like a mouse. In the end, I chose the saxophone. I love the way my fingers glided over the keys as a jazzy flow of music poured out. Don't get me wrong though because it took me a while before I fully became advanced. I give credit to my sister for my passion for music. I looked up to her(even if I don't want to admit it). Filled with admiration, I witnessed her becoming drum major, being student director for the musical and getting solos in choir. At one time, I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. As an audience, we are accustomed to watching a film and analyzing the process and its creation undergoes. More than often the soundtrack is ignored. Perhaps the ability to break down a movie into smaller clips and our focus on visual simulation is what makes sound unnoticeable. And where we pause a film to study its scenes, to study sound we must dedicate our time to listen to the sounds which is itself an endeavor. They say that a picture is speaks a thousand words. • 21. Analysis Of The Movie ' The Revenant ' The Revenant is a very long and very intense movie. In the blockbuster, Leonardo DiCaprio plays Hugh Glass, a seemingly indestructible savage machine. Glass survives the impossible on more than one occasion. In three scenes in particular, Glass is put through a climatic, thrilling situation. The first scene is in a misty forest where Glass finds himself alone when he stumbles upon bear cubs and soon after is nearly mauled to death by the mother bear. He escapes death when he was able to pull out his knife to kill the bear. Consequently, he is now in critical condition and is not able to walk, move, or even talk. The next mind–blowing scene, Glass just rode his horse off a cliff while a blizzard encroaches him. His horse did not survive the fall and the only thing to help Glass stay alive was his knife so he used it to gut the horse completely hollow then Glass removed all of his clothes and crawled inside the horse to wait use its body heat to protect him from the harsh snow storm. Finally, the thought–to–be climax of the movie, Glass finds the man who murdered his son while he helplessly watched, and Glass kills him in a long, bloody exchange of gunshots and knife wounds and ultimately drags him in the nearby ice cold stream I believe that this action packed blockbuster that gave Leonardo DiCaprio an Oscar is boring. The movie also introduced the life of a gangster during that time period, it showed how one day everything could be fine and the next not so well. The acting in this film was excellent in my opinion. The three main characters: Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, and Robert De Niro all played their roles phenomenally. The film was directed by Martin Scorsese. An interesting fact I found out was, Al Pacino was offered Niro's role and he turned it down. I thought the characters played a great job on their roles. Majority of the actors in this movie had some sort of connection in gangster films. A few of the actors in the "Goodfellas" were big stars in "The Sopranos" which I found to be intriguing. Whether he followed the script entirely, used only classical and jazz influences for the music or even produced a less intense film–someone was going to have a complaint. So why not give those who are going to hate it something substantial to hold onto? That's just what he did; using his personal style of incorporating novel themed music with a relative genre that's popular today. For The Great Gatsby, it was drawing inspiration from the Jazz Age and today's hip–hop, similar to Jazz in the sense of it's uprise from the underground to becoming widely known and appreciated. • 34. The Quality Film I Have Selected EDITING PAPER The quality film I have selected is "Goodfellas". I believe this is truly one of the best films created during its time period. A little information about this movie before going into more detail involves the starring of popular actors, along with the movie focusing on many characters but specifically Henry Hill. Throughout this paper I will discuss such elements as: the plot; acting; directing; originality of story; soundtrack; and other important aspects in the production of the film. This film was a huge box office success and I will explore how its production made this possible. For the plot in the "Goodfellas", it centers on a young boy named Henry Hill. In the beginning the film shows Henry doing minor things for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the death of Tommy everything fell apart. Jimmy turned his back on Henry leading to Henry later "ratting" on the organization. Overall, the plot could be shown as; Henry works his way up through the system in the Mafia, it also shows his hardships throughout the movie. The movie also introduces the life of a gangster during that time period, it showed how one day everything could be fine and the next not so well. I thought the characters played a great job with their roles. Majority of the actors in this movie had some sort of connection in gangster films. A few of the actors in the "Goodfellas" were big stars in "The Sopranos" which I found to be intriguing. In all, the acting throughout this film in my opinion was fantastic. Each actor played their role in a unique yet, spectacular way. The originality of the movie "Goodfellas" is based on the book "Wiseguy". These two are very similar. Both the movie and the book share the same setting and outcomes. The film's setting is East Brooklyn. The character's personalities are also similar. Henry's true joy was hijacking and in the movie he also enjoyed doing it. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Analysis Of The Movie ' Dark Souls Ost ' Dark Souls OST There was somewhat of a surprise for VGM listeners upon the release of the first trailer for Dark Souls, FromSoftware's spiritual successor to Demon's souls. Even before any initial announcement was made, it was easy to recognize the work of veteran freelance composer Motoi Sakuraba, his trademark compositional style being so integral. Known primarily for his virtuosic progressive rock compositions, Dark Souls was to be his first fully orchestral work since the Baroque influenced Infinite Undiscovery nearly half a decade prior, and promised to be his bleakest – to match the somber and sorrowful medieval inspired world of the 'Souls' series as previously defined by composer Shinsuke Kita. And there's good news for those who may fear the presence of one of Sakuraba's frequent collaborators, the synth orchestra: all of the instruments are live. In addition, the grandeur of the collection of strings and brass receive a helping voice from the surprise contribution of the Tokyo Philharmonic Chorus. So, let's listen and hear if Motoi Sakuraba's step out of his typical area will stand up or stumble. Motoi Sakuraba announces his presence with the grandiose opening theme "Prologue". Listeners familiar with the soundtrack to Valkyrie Profile 2 will recognize the subtle build of harp and strings into an unlashing of full orchestral tutti. However, it's the next track that truly defines the bleaker timbre of this soundtrack. "Firelink Shrine" is the piece for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Wind Guide You Analysis Rebecca McKenney Mass Media Communication Mrs. Rose 24 March 2017 The Soundtrack of My Life For every song that comes on the radio or that is featured on a CD, there is a personal meaning for the listener. Selecting five songs to represent my life was a difficult choice because of this. The song selection that follows is organized by the artist's last name. 1. "Changes" – Performed by David Bowie I don't know many people would could say that remember the first song they ever heard on the radio. For me, that song was David Bowie's "Changes". I was in pre–school, and my Mom had just picked me up at school. When she turned on the radio, I heard a song that I enjoyed. I didn't know what the words were that Bowie was singing or understood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... "Wind Guide You"– Composed by Jeremey Soule If the "Orchestral Suite to the Inner Light" is, in personal opinion, the most romantic instrumental to date, the most thought provoking is "Wind Guide You" composed by Jeremey Soule. How could an instrumental be thought provoking? Honestly, it's just a feeling I have. The best way that I can describe it is that "Wind Guide You" is the retelling of a somber epic. Every once in a while, I try my hand at freelance writing (purely as a hobby), and this piece is my go to in finding inspiration for my work. Jeremy Soule's "Wind Guide You" was featured in the video gameThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and first appeared on the soundtrack album of the same name in 2011. 5. "Memory" – Performed by Barbra Streisand When it comes to vocal music, I will confess that I typically listen to male artists. It's just personal taste. For me, there are only three female vocalists that I could listen to for more than one or two songs. My favorite female vocalist? Barbra Streisand. I watched the musical film Funny Girl once when I was very young. I could care less for the film, but I loved Streisand's signing voice. Many years later, I had the opportunity to purchase one her greatest hits collection and have enjoyed it ever ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. The Great Gatsby By F. Scott Fitzgerald The Great Gatsby Reimagined For Today's Society The Great Gatsby (1925), the first novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, takes place during prohibition. As depicted in the novel, jazz and alcohol made the culture in the early 20th century feel alive. The novel communicates how the culture was in New York City and why the main characterJay Gatsby held parties so he could see his beloved debutante, Daisy Buchanan. But more importantly, the audience becomes more connected to the film entirely through the music. These films contained leitmotifs and themes that communicate the human emotions and thoughts behind each character. In my opinion, The Great Gatsby remains an extremely successful film because of its music and how it provides clues to the audience as to what obstacles each character faces. Through themes and leitmotifs, the audience is able to predict what the characters truly desire. Several movies were created for this novel, but I will focus on two, one released in 1974 and the other in 2013. The two films share similarities, but mostly, they are very different from one another; in that, the music in the 1974 version possesses the old–fashioned bluesy–type music from the 1920's and attempts to give the audience a clear view of what music in the early 20th century was actually like while the one 2013 version contains a more broad and modern musical feel that connects with our culture and society today. As stated before, the novel, The Great Gatsby, was written ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Summary Of Independent Reading Reflection Independent Reading Reflections #1– Quote: "He had no idea what he was. Half of something, a quarter of something else, brown skin and black hair like his dead mother, but with weird blue eyes like his father." Response: This is important to the development of the story because it gives us descriptions as to what he looks like, so we can better visualize the character as the plot progresses. It also describes a little bit of what his father looks like and what his dead mother used to look like. Questions: How did his mother die? How could his race effect the story? #2– Quote: "Wherever the huge ships lay, scavenge gangs like nailer's swarmed like flies." Response: This is important because it gives us (the reader) much needed background information to better visualize and understand the story. Most likely, his job will play a key role in both the story as it developes, and Nailer's (the main character) development as a person. Questions: Why are there ships everywhere? When does this take place? (Future?) #3– Quote: "If he'd thought about it too much, he didn't know why he saved his father either. It's not as if Richard Lopez has made his life any easier." Response: I wonder if his father really does love him, but uses the booze to hide behind his conflicted emotions about losing his wife. This is a similar relationship in the Outsiders between Ponyboy, and his brother Darry. Ponyboy can't tell if Darry loves him or not, because he is always hiding his emotions from Ponyboy, for he is so hurt from his mother's and father's death. Maybe Nailer had a similar thought and that's why he chose to save his dad. Questions: How will his dad change throughout the story if any? How will Nailer change throughout the story? #4– Quote: "They were all looking at the water now. Hungry. "You think they even know were here?" Moon girl asked. Pima spat in the sand. "Were just flies on garbage to people like that." Response: This quote reminds me a lot of the book "The Outsiders" due to the large social gap between poor people and rich people. In this quote, a Clipper Ship (expensive ship for rich people) is sailing across the water, as the three main characters watch. One of the characters ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
