1. Question 6: what have
you learnt about
technologies from the
process of constructing
this product?
2. What technologies did I use
When working on my media project of producing
a music magazine I used the programmes adobe
InDesign to create my front cover, contents page
and double page spread and adobe Photoshop so
that I could edit my images that I put onto my
work for example the main photograph on the
front cover. I already new the basics of InDesign
and Photoshop but there are some other skills
that I learnt when using these programmes and I
now feel more confident about using these
programmes when it comes to creating other
media products.
3. My front cover use of the
programmes
When working on my front cover I used Photoshop to edit
the photos enhancing the brightness on the pictures I used
as the posters and also turning the main image to black
and white. When creating my front page on InDesign I used
many different aspects such as typing on a path with in my
puff and plug this is one of the elements of InDesign I
learnt to use and I can now use this with ease when
working on InDesign I also applied drop shadows to my
text as well as emboss to create the look I got of the
masthead. I learnt how to organise my text so that all the
text was inline and equally spaced so the gaps were not
odd spacing.
4. My contents page use of the
programmes
when working on my contents page I used Photoshop again to
edit the images but not majorly. The work I did using InDesign
consisted of using drop shadows so that certain parts of my text
such as ‘exclusive interview’ would stand out from the rest of
the text so the eyes of the audience would be drawn here. I
again as I did on my front cover used the tool to make the boxes
and my text equal spacing so when read it did not look to
muddled up and confusing to the viewer.
5. My double page spread use of
the programmes
On my double page spread I used Photoshop to cut out the
background of the main image so that when I placed it onto
InDesign I could use the space behind it. I used a lot of different
technics on InDesign for my double page spread I focused a lot
on how I were to flow the text around the pull quotes, I did this
by using text wrap, when I first done this I found that some of
my text was closer to the pull quote on one side then it was the
other so I clicked on this and increased the distance of spacing
to how far the text wrap was to the text. I also imbedded
pictures using InDesign o my double page spread.
6. To conclude
what have you learnt about technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
To conclude I have learnt about different aspects of InDesign
and Photoshop and I feel more confident of using these
programmes in the future. I understand how the creation of
making a real magazine works and what different aspects of
InDesign can create different effects.
