This month we held our tweetathon's #womenleadership, #techsec, #meninmedia and launched our
campaign for #safespaces this rakhi. We have also had lots of contributions to our blog ranging
from Hindi poetry to contributions focussing on the portrayal of women in society.
Twitter this month adressed three different issues: Women in leadership, technical security, and men
in the media:
Beginning with #womenleadership our goals for this tweetathon included exploring the reasons
why women are underrepresented in positions of leadership, some of the stereotypes that mis-
characterize women leaders, responsibilities that women traditionally are expected to fulfill, and
finally, somesolutions to fixing the leadership gap.
The main questions that our #techsec tweetathon aimed to address were: “How technology helps or
hinders our security”; “Does your phone make you feel safe or stalked?”; and “Whether or not GPS
is a blessing or a burden.”
The most key point to come out of this tweetathon is that technology is now intrinsic in our daily
lives, and it is up to the individual to monitor their own online content in order to remain safe both
online and offline.

week, with our most popular

received two comments.
However, despite being full of
interesting pieces, when it
comes to the statistics the blog fails to receive any notice this month. This may be due to a lack of
4. publicity of pieces via Facebook and Twitter, which would link tweetathon discussions to the Bell
Bajao campaign:
