Acceptable Use Policy
Preamble
IES Lucas Martín Espino offers network access to its students, teachers, and staff. Access to the school
network and the Internet is a privilege, not a right. The intent of this policy is to ensure that students
utilize this access in a manner consistent with the purpose of providing this service.
The centre will promote a secure and adequate use of Internet and ICT among all of the members of
the scholar community. The centre will programme talks and workshops for teachers, students and
their families in order to do a safe and responsible use of the Internet.
The use of mobile devices in the classroom is a current topic of debate among teachers and school
management. Some teachers agree with the use of the mobile devices as another tool in the classroom
such as computers or books. The use of mobile devices can be positive or negative according to the
students needs, teachers, learning objectives, and activities to be carried out.
However, it is important that we take advantages of the use of smartphones that many students have
in the classroom, to carry out activities using the mobile, but it is important that we regulate its use in
school.
