often visit the zoo,
( C )Do you love animals so much ?
Asked malu more than you love
people?” yes, I do said Ranjit.

3. Malu asked Ranjit what his plan
was for the day.
ranjit said he would like to go to
the zoo.
He said malu asked him if he
loved animals more than he
loved people .

4. What is the difference between these
two ways of reporting ?
Direct speech
Reported speech

5. Reporting verbs in reported speech
we use verbs like say ask order
reguest etc .in reported speech. These
verbs are called reporting verbs they
snow that we are reporting what
someone said and not repeating the
exact words of the speaker
ex my sister said she was leaving early
the next morning

6. Reporting statements
she told us that she was guitting the
job
she was sick she said that of her
colleagues

7. Reporting exclamatios
when we report exclamatory
sentences we change the word order
to that of that of statements we also
modify the adjective/ adverb to
express the element of wonder
surprise etc, in the exclamatory
sentence

8. Leaving out words
sometimes we want to aviod
repeating a long expression by using
an auxilary among other devices this
is called ellipsis
