Ratan (CG 5016): 19 Developed at T.C.B. College of
Agriculture & Research Station, Bilaspur
from cross HUW 325 x DL 2307. This
strain gives an average yield of 19 q/ha
and suitable for semi irrigated areas of
Chhattisgarh. This strain has better yield
(21%) than C-306 under rainfed
conditions. Seeds are amber colour and
medium in size (38 g/1000 seeds).
Resistant to brown and black rusts under
rainfed conditions in Central Zone.

11-9 This has been developed at S.G. College
of Agriculture and Research Station,
Jagdalpur from a cross PCR 20 x RH 819.
Its average yield is 1179 kg/ha with oil
yield of 447.2 kg /ha. It has 13.22 % yield
advantage over Kranti, 22.95 per cent
over Vardan and 18.2% over Varuna.
Seeds are medium bold brown in color
having 37.48 % oil content. Plant height
varies from 115 to 165 cm and matures in
105-128 days. It is suitable for fully or
semi irrigated rice fallows of
Chhattisgarh. It has tolerance to major
diseases like white rust, powdery mildew
and Alternaria blight.

Indira Chana-1 14.46 q/ha. Parentage JG 74 x ICCL 83105. Maturity is
110-115 days. Its grain type is light yellow
and brown. Moderately resistant to
Fusarium wilt & tolerant against
Helicoverpa armigera. Recommended for
rainfed, rice and soybean fallows with
semi irrigated and drought tolerant. It is
non shattering, erect plant type with
more primary branches. Dal recovery is
68-73%, protein content 19.00% in seed
and 22.55% in dal. Cooking time is 45
minutes.

conditions, protein content 26.47%,
maturity: 93-120 days, moderately
resistant to wilt and exhibits lower
pest incidence.

  • 4. Mustard Chhattisgarh Sarson (BBM 05- 01) 11-9 This has been developed at S.G. College of Agriculture and Research Station, Jagdalpur from a cross PCR 20 x RH 819. Its average yield is 1179 kg/ha with oil yield of 447.2 kg /ha. It has 13.22 % yield advantage over Kranti, 22.95 per cent over Vardan and 18.2% over Varuna. Seeds are medium bold brown in color having 37.48 % oil content. Plant height varies from 115 to 165 cm and matures in 105-128 days. It is suitable for fully or semi irrigated rice fallows of Chhattisgarh. It has tolerance to major diseases like white rust, powdery mildew and Alternaria blight. Sesame Suprava (CUMS- 17) Suitable for irrigated, summer crop, superior performance under timely, early and late sown conditions with very low reductions in seed yield and other agronomic parameters, oil content 48- 50%, maturity: 88-92 days, highly resistant to diseases like root rot, phyllody and powdery mildew, suitable for high heat and drought situation. Safflower NARI-96 hybrid 20.2 6.7 (oil yield) Suitable for early and timely sowing irrigated conditions, maturity: 116-165 days, non-lodging, non-shattering, and fertilizer responsive, tolerant to safflower wilt (Fusarium oxysporum) and moderately tolerant to aphids Chickpea Indira Chana-1 14.46 q/ha. Parentage JG 74 x ICCL 83105. Maturity is 110-115 days. Its grain type is light yellow and brown. Moderately resistant to Fusarium wilt & tolerant against Helicoverpa armigera. Recommended for rainfed, rice and soybean fallows with semi irrigated and drought tolerant. It is non shattering, erect plant type with more primary branches. Dal recovery is 68-73%, protein content 19.00% in seed and 22.55% in dal. Cooking time is 45 minutes.
