The ant drifted ashore
on the leaf.

16. The Proud Flower
Many, many years ago,
when the earth had only the
sun and the moon, the
flowers and the animals, the
rose was thought to be the
most beautiful flower.
It was so beautiful that all
the animals that lived during
that time admired it greatly.

flying. It perched on the lovely
rose to rest. The rose became
mad. It did not like any
butterfly or insect to perch on
its petals or leaves. It thought it

more beautiful flowers.
