Cheetah Research Paper
An Impressive Animal
What is the fastest land animal? What is the only big cat that doesn t roar? What is the easiest of
the exotic cats to tame? The answer is the cheetah. The cheetah, who growls, purrs, and makes
chirping sounds, is the fastest land animal in short distances. First tamed by the Sumerians,
cheetahs have been in captivity for over 5000 years. They were used as hunting partners for sport
in Asia and were used as pets to Gengis Khan, Akbar the Great of India, and Mogul Emperor. The
cheetah has unique characteristics, is a sneaky hunter, and has adorable cubs.
The cheetah has unique physical characteristics and unmatched speed. The cheetah has solid,
round, black spots on its body and a few spots on its face. Under each eye, it has one dark stripe
to hide the glare of the sun. The cheetah has a thin body, a small head, and long legs. It has no
canine teeth. A male cheetah weighs 130 pounds and can be up to seven feet long. It has a flexible
spine and a long tail for balance and steering. Although the cheetah can go from zero miles per ...

Cheetahs race across the African grasslands or in small numbers on the Arabian Peninsula in
search of their favorite foods, gazelles, warthogs, springboks, birds, or rabbits. The cheetah
sneaks up as close as it can and then runs and pounces on its prey. In a second the cheetah trips
the prey and grabs it by the throat. Most hunts for the cheetah are not successful. A cheetah hunts
alone every three to five days, but a female cheetah with cubs has to hunt every day. Because a
cheetah s claws are not fully retractible, they can grip the ground to make them go faster. They
hunt in the morning or early afternoon because cheetahs needs light to see their prey. The cheetah

The Great Playwright s Life Story
Before the relatively short life of Lorraine Hansberry tragically ended, the African American
playwright distinguished herself in American theatre and literature as she creatively and
unknowingly challenged the views of African American life, among other inescapable issues of
the nation and the world, on the theatrical stage. The great playwright s life story began on May
19, 1930. Although born during a time of hardship introduced by the Great Depression,
Hansberry grew up rather comfortably in a middle class African American family from the
Southside of Chicago ( Lorraine ). Her father, Carl Augustus Hansberry, not only established
Lake Street Bank, one of the first Chicago banks to solicit black patronage, but also established
himself as a successful real estate businessman (Jacobus, Lorraine 1223). Despite the middle
class status, the family experienced racial tension, especially when the family bought and moved
into a home in a racially restricted covenant which later resulted in the Hansberry vs. Lee U.S.
Supreme Court case that influenced Hansberry s writing ( Lorraine ). After graduating Englewood
High School in Chicago in 1948, Lorraine Hansberry left for college to pursue her interest in
visual art ( Lorraine ). She attended the University of Wisconsin, the Art Institute of Chicago, and
numerous other schools before moving to New York in 1950 (Jacobus, Lorraine 1223). Once in
New York, Hansberry ditched visual art and found interest in theatre, which led her

Language In To The Lighthouse, By Virginia Woolf
Virginia Woolf (1882 1941) was a prolific writer, whose style changed with each new novel, and her
work represented the historical moment when art was integrated into society. Her modernist novel
To the Lighthouse stray s from the conventional forms of writing, concentrating not on the plot but
on the characters consciousnessand physical development, producing an innovative type of
narrative which depicts realities beneath appearances, and at the same time brings about a deep
exploration of the human mind. To the Lighthouse was written in 1927 and it is considered a
masterpiece due to the way in which Woolf experimented with the stream of consciousness as well
as with the emotional feelings of her characters. The composition has relatively... Show more

This game of back and forth between what Lily and Mr. Ramsey are thinking, and what they are
actual saying is clarified with the help of the parentheses, which signal the sudden switches in
perspective. Thus at moments it is one character s consciousness, at others it is the narrative voice,
and afterwards another character s consciousness is introduced, all of these being combined within
one sentence. These aspects are psychological elements that constitute the basis for a modernist
writing, and as Virginia Woolf said in her essay Modern Fictionfor the moderns the point of
interest lies very likely in the dark places of psychology. (11) Though the novel contains a
multitude of conventional narration and descriptions, the interior monologue is very often
employed so as to give the novel its special character of seeming to be always within the
consciousness of the characters. A good example of WoolfВґs technique can be seen in the fallowing

Sleep Deprivation And The Sleep
Sleep is a basic necessity of everyday life. According to the National Foundation of sleep, a person
is required to sleep at least seven to nine hours a day. (citation) As mentioned by Matt T. Bianchi in
the book Sleep Deprivation and Disease, The normal quantity of sleep depends on the individual
and a myriad of other factors such as environment and an individual s waking needs. (citation) This
means that the quantity of sleep that people achieve depends on their body s needs and functions.
Unfortunately, according to the Nation Foundation of Sleep, twenty percent of individuals are
affected by sleep deprivationeach year. This a huge number. Sleep deprivation is a lack of the
required sleep a person needs in a week . It can come in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The percentage decreases after the age of fifty. Both quality and quantity are important when it
comes to sleep. If one fails to acquire the appropriate amount of R.E.M sleep and sleeps less than
six hours everyday for one week, then that person would have a total sleep debt of seven to
fourteen hours. The effects of not sleeping properly can be felt as soon as the next day.
As mentioned before, there are two types of sleep deprivation, partial sleep deprivation and total
sleep deprivation. A person is considered partially sleep deprived if he or she gets less than five
hours of sleep per night. If a person gets less than three hours of sleep per night, then he or she is
considered sleep deprived. Sleep deprivation can either be caused by lifestyle or medical issues.
Factors such as drinking coffee at night, obesity, stress, insomnia, and sleep apnea negatively
affect the way one sleeps. As mentioned previously, sleep deprivation can affect one s physically.
Some of these effects include: obesity, type two diabetes and heart disease. Most of these effects
are cyclical. This means that it is a repeating process.
Obesity is a physical illness which results in the extreme production of fat and cholesterol. Obesity
is an increasing problem in the U.S. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Obesity
has more than doubled since the 1980 s. In the 2014, six hundred million adults aged eighteen and
up, were suffering from obesity. Obesity

Selecting Stallions for Breeding
Efficient and effective breeding is dependent on the performance of the Stallion and the mare.
Adequate knowledge of the Stallion anatomy keeps one at good point to make good decision on
selecting Stallion that will perform above average (Graffin, 2000, Morris Allen, 2002)
The records of the history of Stallion is a basic tool to understanding the past of the stallion and that
makes it easier to evaluate its present. It should be an eye opener to the accurate age, breed type,
sexual experience, rearing practices, production rate, mating ability, health records, treatments, past
body condition, tests and environmental condition. (Hickman, 1984).
Body conformation is a heritable trait of a stallion by its offspring (Saastamoinen and Barrey,
2000).The physical condition should be at good rating, the stallion should have a good limb
conformation and should be free from all bone and locomotion defects. Dolwik and Klemetsdal
(1999) reported that body scoring condition of a stallion averagely 3, but a stallion that is
consistently used for covering can be raised above 4 so that it does not become emaciated after
the breeding season. Stallion with low score are found with have low libido and are not capable to
withstand breeding pressure. Obese stallion are usually lazy and are at higher risk of having
insulin resistance and laminitis (Hoffman et al., 2003) and respiratory problems (Webb et al. 1989.

Evaluation Of A Close Inspection Of Participants Responses
One hundred thirty two participants volunteered to take part in the current study. A close
inspection of participants responses was followed by a deletion of missing data which involved
the exclusion of several participants from the statistical analyses if item/question were
unanswered. After the exclusion procedure due to incomplete data, the sample size dropped at
eighty seven young adults (10 high school students, 7 college students, 48 undergraduate
students, and 22 postgraduate students). The sample comprised 41 males and 46 females,
drawn from London population. The inclusion criteria were their age and the current city they
were living in (London). They ranged in age from 20 to 30, with a mean age of 25.03 (SD =
3.466). Regrettably, with regard to ethnicity, there was little variation as the majority of the
participants classified themselves as White (N = 68), followed by Asian individuals (N = 10),
African (N = 6), and Hispanic (N = 3). Participants were selected based on their accessibility, via
social networking. Informed consent was obtained from all participants. Measures A survey link
was created and activated via the Survey Monkey software. The survey incorporated several
sections such as, briefing (see Appendix A), consent (see Appendix A), short demographic

How often people drink coffee
How often people drink coffee
ENC 1101
Florida International University
Abstract
In today s society, over half of the adults in the United States drink coffee daily, and the percentage
has been in increase for the past years or decades. In general, this increase of consuming coffee has
been affected by various factors. It depends on ethnicity, race, age, gender, life stress and even
the weather or hours of the day disturbs why people consume it. But how often people drink
coffee? Or, What properties coffee drinkers know coffee has? These are some question that many
people do not show to be concerned about. Most of the people don t care about how harmful or

The first question was about how many times in the day they drink coffee, or if they do not
drink coffee at all. This question was to create some insight about all the caffeine they are giving
to their body. The second one was about the usual time they drink coffee. This one was to show
them the pattern they might use without even noticing it. The third question was asking for a
reason why they drink coffee. This one was used to identify the key terms that induce them to
have a coffee and the dependency from it. The fourth one was about the kind of coffee they
usually drink. This one was used just to find differences between the addictions of drinking
coffee, if any. Finally, the fifth one was as simple as the knowledge about coffee s side effects.
This one was used to identify consumer s knowledge about the coffee they are drinking. The survey
can be found below in Appendix B.

Marine Biology Application Essay
Gloria Steinem once said, Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of
possibilities. Imagination and dreams can make anything possible, including me becoming a
marine biologist. Ever since I was five years old, i have dreamed of becoming a marine
biologist. My dad, stepmom, and me took a trip to Orlando, Florida and I was terrified of what
was to come. I didn t know it had the time, but now I realize that this one experience has shaped
me into who I am and what I love. In the summer of 2007, I found myself in the most
extraordinary place I have ever been. I walked into Discovery Cove and my jaw slammed against

`` Twilight `` By Stephanie Meyer
Twilight by Stephanie Meyer has many codes and conventions from the genre that is gothic
literature. Like The Italian by Ann Radcliffe there is a sense of anxiety from the monstrous power
of unreality, and the characters of both Bella and Ellena do not know what is happening around
them. A dark mystery is created throughout the novels, using sinister settings and threatening
atmospheres. The idea of the sublime is shown through the descriptions of Ellena and Bella s
surroundings. This put together with the strange characters they encounter, the sensibility within
those characters all work together to slowly build their fears and introduces the idea of the paternal
protector, Edward and his family for Bella with Vilvaldi and Schedoni... Show more content on

Just like Twilight, The Italian also communicates the anxieties of women the late 18th to early
20th Century, where middle class women s homes were becoming uncomfortably like a castle or
a prison, with constraints on their education and social developments. This is shown in the way
female characters always end up trapped within gothic text. When Ellena is kidnapped, even
though she faints, it is described differently: All consciousness had now forsaken her (Radcliffe,
61). Also when she is taken to the house of Spalatro, she faints, but the words in the narrative say
that horror chilled all her frame, and her senses forsook her (Radcliffe, 211). Ellena is always
thrust back into the middle of peril whenever she seems to reach safety. Ellena is able to remain
pure yet strong despite what happens to her; she keeps the Marchesa cleverly controlling, while
fearful of her husband finding out her plans. This slightly takes away from the stereotypical damsel
in distress, making her seem less weaker than usual. She does not tremble with and fear and does not
cry at every misfortune very often but she is also, always, saved and protected creating the role in
simultaneously restricting women and providing them power. The Sublime also contributes to the
mystery: obscure sounds, unexplainable events and dark figures distress and create anxieties within
the characters.
The sublime describes the natural

Comparison Of Sleepy Hollow And Ichabod Crane
The style of Washington Irving s story varies from enchanted and mysterious, to downright jovial.
His rich language describes Sleepy Hollow and Ichabod Crane s time spent there with lavish detail
of the scenery and even the food.Ironically, the end and explanation of the Headless Horseman is
different in the two sources. In the story, with Crane hungry for the supernatural, Irving implies
with his ending that Brom Bones was the Horseman and that what happened could have a reality
based explanation. In the movie, where Johnny Depp s Ichabod Craneadamantly rejects any
supernatural ideas, Tim Burton creates an entire back story of witchcraft to explain the Headless
Hessian. In one similarity, both contrasted their main character s belief with

Theme Of The Orphan Master s Son
What if everything you knew was a fabrication of reality and the only escape for you or your
loved ones was sacrifice? This is the basis for The Orphan Master s Son, a book by Adam
Johnson that details the lives and lies of North Korea. Focusing on a misidentified orphan by the
name of Pak Jun Do, The Orphan Master s Son chronicles the life of Pak Jun Do, as he maneuvers
the strict rules of the North Korean government in order to live another day. Throughout the novel,
Jun Do endures a tough life under a merciless tyrant and a suffering father, remains loyal to his
oppressors despite their torment, learns to accept his position in society no matter where he is

/ And oh, it would have been a great job of killing and a new and beautiful thing under the sun if
the million knew why they hacked and tore each other to death (124). Both the workmen in the
poem and Jun Do are victims of ignorance, as they suffer for a purpose they do not quite
understand. This ignorance is vocalized by the Captain, who, when confronting Jun Do about
coming up with a story for the Dear Leader, claims that ... no one ever taught [Jun Do] about
family and sacrifice and doing whatever it takes to protect your own (83). By not truly
understanding why his father acts in the cruel way he does, he is not able to learn what it is
truly like to have a loving family. This is the same for the young workmen, who, by fighting in
ignorance, will never be able to understand the true purpose of their troubles and will never learn
of the true outcome of war orchestrated by the grinning kings and the living kaiser and czar (124).
Regardless of their ambiguity and misdirection, like the young workmen, Jun Do continues to show
loyalty to his tyrants and oppressors. Loyalty Throughout the beginning of the novel, Jun Do shows
unwavering loyalty to his despots, despite their cruel treatment of him and his awful living
conditions. This draws parallels to the poem Rye Whiskey by an anonymous author which details
the narrator s loyalty and unwavering addiction to rye whiskey, even though it has only lead him to
his downfall (273). Like rye whiskey, Jun Do

Ebay Inc. ( Ebay )
EBay Inc. (EBAY) is a leading global commerce platform that enables individuals and businesses
to buy and sell products online. Over the past 20 years, it has become one of the largest online
marketplaces, with over 159 million active users around the world and more than 800 million items
for sale. EBays vision is one that is enabled by people, powered by technology, and open to
everyone (What We Do). EBay runs a more decentralized commerce system than Amazon and
other e commerce companies. Their purpose is to act as a facilitator of peer to peer commerce
rather than maintain their own inventory and sell directly to consumers. This gives more power to
eBay marketplace sellers and allows for both auctions and fixed price sales. (EBay vs Amazon)
With new startups on the rise such as Etsy, SellSimple, and Threadflip, along with e commerce
veterans such as Amazon or Alibaba, eBay has to continuously work to improve its services to
maintain its sellers and continue to attract a larger consumer base. (Thomas) Using information
technology and improved information systems has helped eBay achieve their goals and
differentiate the platform in an increasingly competitive market.
In September 1995, eBay founder Pierre Omidyar launched AuctionWeb, an open marketplace for
buyers and sellers. Working alone for almost a year, Omidyar hired his first employee in June
1996, and by July, AuctionWeb had already sold $7.2 million worth of merchandise. In September
1998, eBay went public.

Battle Of Algiers Essay
The movie Battle of Algiers tells the story of a revolution. The movie takes place in the capital
of French Algeria, Algiers. The French colonized Algeria 1830, this colonization lasted until
1962; the year Algeria gained its independence. The movie tells the story of the people of Algiers
and their struggle to gain independence. The movie raises a plethora of moral issues and the
characters are often put into situations that put their morals into question. The French and the
people of Algiers were both into these situations. However, I believe the French were more
immoral than the Algiers; in fact, I believe the people of Algiers actions were justifiable.

Their terror attacks were not carried out because they hated the French civilians they have never

that they had to use tactics that are normally immoral. In this case, they were justified because of

it is often provided by a licensed therapist. Therapist is known as a marriage or family therapist.

Doing so will strengthen you and your spouse s relationship prior to marriage and perhaps get some
things in check first. Premarital counseling also teaches communication and conflict resolution
techniques. This will help to increase the level of marital satisfaction. It is also found/suggested
that greater communication skills reduce the risk of divorce. The counseling should also bring up
discussions that are vital to a couple s relationship. Whatever these things are they should be
hatched out before so there are no surprises in the relationship. These issues may be minor or
major depending on what s discussed. This may be a time to sort out like gender roles,
expectations, and finances most importantly. Premarital counseling is basically making you aware
of strengths and growth areas therefore insuring a happy and long future together as one (Stebbins,
2011; Duncan, Childs Larson, 2010).
Types of Premarital Counseling
As stated earlier there are various approaches to premarital preparation simply because there are
some many different types of people to connect to the different approaches offered (Duncan, Childs
Larson, 2010). Furthermore there has been no significant evidence that says that any one approach
is more effective than others (Duncan, Childs Larson, 2010). So based on information found

The Life of Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ means numerous things to people: the Son of God, Savior, the Messiah, etc. But many
might still not know what happened during Jesus s life. There are numerous stories in the Bible.
His story starts in the New Testament, though the prophecies about Him are in the Old Testament.
Through the Bible, people have been able to decipher the Messianic prophecies, Jesuss death and
resurrection, and Jesus s return.
The Messianic Prophecies are prophecies about the Messiah. He will end the dark times, and bring
joy (Isaiah 9: 1 7). God will make this possible by giving us Jesus, His Son (Isaiah 9:6). Jesus, who
not only is the Son of God, but also God, will bring peace. He will be the king. This will happen
because God loves us all so much. God then goes on to talk about how His Son will bring justice,
and will not stick out in a crowd (Isaiah 42: 1 7). There was nothing particularly striking about
Jesus, in appearance or demeanor (Isaiah 53:2). Because of others suffering, Jesus felt their
sadness (Isaiah 53:4). God wanted Jesus to suffer in His life so that humans can be saved;
though Jesus never complained. Jesus was the sacrifice. He died for our sins. But He succeeded
in what was needed to be done. Afterward, He would have a remarkable spot in heaven (Isaiah
53:11 12).
Jesus s death is one of the biggest events in the Bible. Judas, who was one of Jesus s apostles,
betrayed Him and gave Him over to the Jews who had been planning to kill Him in exchange for
money (Luke

Theories Of Virtue Ethics
Summary of Virtue Ethics. For a non consequential theory, I will use Virtue Ethics. This theory is
developed by philosophers Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. All of them have a different perspective
of the theory, but they have the same central principle of Virtue Ethics, which is a personal
character to lead to happiness and fulfillment in one s life. There are two different types of virtues
in Aristotles Theory: Intellectual virtues and moral virtues. The intellectual virtues reflect what is
unique and important about human nature across the board, but the moral virtues conduct well the
normal affairs of daily life in society. In addition, VirtueEthicshas ancient roots, in both Latin and
Greek culture, it means excellence in being a model person. Therefore, it helps you to live the good
life. While, Aristotle s virtue ethics has some... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Applying Virtue Ethics. There are three steps to apply Virtue Ethics. First, determine the virtues
called for by the situation. Secondly, evaluate options, looking for Golden Mean solutions. Golden

course of action, consistent with the virtues and the Golden Mean. The ethical decision should

The Xerox Corporation s History
Introduction
The Xerox Corporation s history, however, is not perfect. In 2002, they were fined $10 million for
inflating revenue and profits from 1997 to 2000 by including future payments on existing products
(Xerox). They were using various topside accounting devices, to manipulate their equipment
revenues and earnings (KPMG). They would record leases of products to customers as sales in
order to increase their revenue.
The auditing firm used by Xerox was KPMG. KPMG is a global accounting and auditing
company and is also recognized as part of the Big Four along with Deloitte, Ernst Young, and
PricewaterhouseCoopers (www.accountingverse.com). They allowed Xerox to close a $3 billion
gap between their actual operating results ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Meanwhile, senior level management personnel received over $5 million in performance based
compensation as well as over $30 million in profits from the sale of what was at the time
overvalued stock (XEROX CORPORATION). Xerox s accounting manipulations were carefully
and intentionally executed in an attempt to conceal them from being detected. The corporation s
executives knowingly directed management to perform two main manipulative accounting
procedures and actively covered their tracks. They were inappropriately storing revenue off the
books, and then conveniently releasing the stored funds at pivotal times in order to increase
sluggish or slow earning periods. This is a common practice and it is speculated that many major
corporations used these booking techniques at times as well. The company was also accelerating
revenues from short term equipment rentals, which were being described as longer term leases.
The variance was noteworthy for according to GAAP, the entire value of a long term lease should
be included in the revenue in the first year. But instead, the value of these rentals was spread
throughout the duration of the leases (XEROX CORPORATION). Xerox s manipulations directly
affected the economy

Bible And The Lord s Prayer
I got very annoyed and was very disturbed when Moore discussed the ordination of women in the
Catholic Church; as well as the discussion about changing the words of the Bible and the Lord s
Prayer. First, Moore discusses feminist liberal movements changing the wording of the Bible:
Proffered gender neutral language, substituting brothers and sisters for brothers, interpreting the
pronoun He as the proper noun God, and using Our Parent instead of Our Father in the Lord s
Prayer (Moore 143). The Lord s Prayer was given to us by Christ in the Gospel of Matthew and the
Gospel of Luke. To turn around and decide you don t like the wording so you re going to change it
is very disturbing to me. The prevalence of the idea of genderneutral

Communicable disease outbreak of the Measles
Communicable disease outbreak occurs when there is a larger then expected incidence of a
disease. It can affect a small group or thousands of people in a region. In some instances even just
two independent cases can lead to an outbreak, eventually leading to an epidemic, or pandemic
which refers to a global outbreak. Measles is a communicable disease that is highly contagious
according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The good news is that it is a preventable
disease, because there is a vaccine that is available to prevent people from contracting it. One
complication that arises is when some people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This disease can lead to severe pneumonia, diarrhea, encephalitis and in a worst case scenario could
even cause death.
Facts and figures available to study the epidemiological data for the outbreak of measles include
gathering suspected and confirmed cases of this disease from the World Health Organization.
This is done by gathering serum samples from all suspected cases to determine if a measles
specific immunoglobulin antibody is detected. This particular disease lives in the nose and throat
of the infected individual and is considered contagious for a period of four days before the rash
appears and for a further four days after the sighting of the rash.
The route of transmission of the disease is via infected droplets that spray into the air when
people cough, sneeze or talk. These droplets can then be inhaled by other people who are in
close proximity to the person who is infected. Unfortunately, these droplets can remain active and
contagious for several hours on a surface, such that when you touch it with your fingers and then
touch your nose or mouth you can become infected. While most cases are easily diagnosed by
simply looking at the patient, in the majority of cases it is preferable to have blood tests to
confirm 100%. Typically the patient will have a rash that looks like small, bright Koplik s spots on

The Perspective Of The Global North
Yasinthan Nithyananthamoorthy ENG4U0 Ms. Michielin October 13, 2014 In the perspective
of the global north I believe that we are all living in the digital age. In the global north,
technology has been included into our daily lifestyle. Technology was first created to reduce
human effort. An example can be as simple as writing a book. Instead of using hand writing to
write you can use a computer. I know when I write down on paper there are many things that are
limited. Like when you constantly make mistakes and you start to erase a lot and the paper will
start to rip. Also when writing long essays, I start it get lazy and my handwriting gets sloppy and
in the end the essay isn t even readable. Where, when using a computer you can edit your work
from anywhere you want, there is different fonts to choose from and there are certain tools that
will help you like spell check and auto correct. This is when technology is put into great use
because it is used to help speed up the process of a simple thing that is used in our life. I believe
that it is amazing how technology has developed over the past few years because now, not only
does it simplify the things in life, it is now created to entertain us. Even though technology is
making our lives easier we must not depend on it too much because if we do, all the other things
that are important will start slowly disappearing, like books. The value of books are slowly
decreasing because of technology. B.O.O.K stands for the bank of

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission ( Nrc )
A persistent state of stagnation has plagued the creation of low level nuclear waste disposal sites
for nearly three decades. To date, there are only four licensed facilities capable of accepting,
storing, and disposing low level waste in the United States (NRC 2015a). As an independent
agency created by Congress in 1974, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulates
the creation and management of commercial low level waste sites through licensing, inspection,
and enforcement of its requirements. Due to the apparent lack of new disposal sites, a closer
analysis of the NRC s licensing requirements is needed. Is the current policy conducive to
expansionary facilities in other parts of the nation? Are the technical and financial requirements
established by the NRC for commercial facilities too steep to allow the creation of new facilities,
creating a natural monopoly? In addressing these issues, the following analysis examines the NRC
s current policy compared to proposed alternatives using empirical and theoretical analyses. Finally,
the goal and the final policy recommendation of this analysis is ultimately in line with the NRC s
overarching strategic values: safety and security.
Case Description The definition of low level waste is negative. Meaning, commercial radioactive
wastes that do not fall under the category for high level wastes, or uranium and thorium milling
wastes, are classified as low level radioactive waste (NRC 2015c). The low level wastes can

Cap and Bells (Yeats)
Commentary on The cap and Bells
By: Rahiwa Abdulalim
Word Count: 1369
William Butler Yeats s The Cap and Bells depicts the behavior of love through an account of
actions between a jester and a queen. Through the use of many symbolic references, the
characters accurately reflect a lover s actions towards his loved one. For example when Referring
to jester like men throughout many of his works ( A Coat , The Fool by the Roadside , Two Songs
of a Fool , etc.), Yeats is continually portraying the actions of humans towards loveas foolish.
Furthermore, Cap and Bells came to Yeats in a dream most likely steaming from his obsessive
infatuation he had for Maud Gonne. Being an acclaimed actress, Yeats most likely perceived Gonne

The windowsill becomes symbolic of the queen s spirit. As the jester s soul rises to the ledge, it
hopes the queen s spirit will allow him to enter. As the second stanza continues, one reads It had
grown wise tongued by thinking / Of a quiet and light football . With each line smoothly
transitioning to the next, the idea Yeats creates continuity without breaks. Such a technique
creates a feeling of acceleration, compelling a reader to carry on his thoughts from line to line.
As in the example, the jester has learned to speak with wisdom due to his constant thinking upon
this game of love as a football. A football has two points, one on each end, and travels in a direct
path when thrown. Love is a similar game, for it travels in a direct path from the sender to the
receiver in hopes of being caught and returned. The sentence structure and constant use of
semicolons throughout the third, fourth, and fifth stanzas of The Cap and Bells are two elements,
which take the reader past the surface to find meaning. He explains that after ignoring the soul of
the jester, the queen rose in her pale night gown . Not only does the night gown reinforce the idea
of night, but the pale color suggests that the queen thought little of the offering the jester gave her,
for the pale color states the absence of emotion. The addition of the

Analysis Of The Poem David Sedaris
David Sedaris is an author, humorist, and comedian. He has published many books that contain his
short stories and essays. He was named Humorist of the Year by Time magazine, and he also
received the Thurber Prize for American Humor (David Sedaris, Radio Contributor, to Appear at
Durham).
Three of his works are A Plague of Tics , Now We Are Five , and Our Perfect Summer. Sedaris has
a very particular writing style. His essays are generally about something he is close to, for
example, his family. Growing up with two parents and five other siblings, Sedaris often makes
his family or childhood the subject of his writing. Characters that are able to encompass a
complete spectrum of emotions and maintain a sense of humor tend to make a connection with
the reader. These characters are more realistic than a character that expresses a single emotion at
a time and has a set of personality traits to stick to. He writes about his family and friends in a
realistic tone. Sedaris also manages to portray them in an unbiased way. Sedaris gets his message
across in a light and conversational tone. Even personal or heavy topics are dealt with casual
language. He makes his writing funny; it is often packed with sarcastic humor.
A Plague of Tics is about Sedaris s relationship with his compulsive tendencies while growing up.

Strict Code Of Ethics In Real Estate Homeowners
The real estate system can be extremely confusing to anyone who doesn t have the appropriate
skill and expertise in the industry. That is why realtors are so important, whether you are thinking
about buying or selling a home. One obvious reason that real estate agents are so vital is because
they have the experience and training to handle any difficulty that could possibly come up. For
instance, if someone is trying to purchase a new home and the propertyis foreclosed, they may not
know exactly how to deal with the situation. In such a particular case, the impending homeowner
would have to deal with a financial institution instead of a real person. This can actually complicate
matters. In the event that there is nobody to help them through this procedure, they would in all
likelihood miss out on the home.

Medication Errors From A Nursing
Medication Errors
Shonda Delmage
Baker College of Cadillac
04/24/2015
Medication Errors Each year, roughly 1.5 million adverse drug events (ADEs) occur in acute and
long term care settings across America (Institute of Medicine [IOM], 2006). An ADE is succinctly
defined as actual or potential patient harm resulting from a medication error. To expound further,
while ADEs may result from oversights related to prescribing or dispensing, 26 32% of all
erroneous drug interventions occur during the nursing administration and monitoring phases
(Anderson Townsend, 2010). These mollifiable mishaps not only create a formidable financial
burden for health care systems, they also carry the potential of imposing irreversible physiological
impairment to patients and their families. In an effort to ameliorate cost inflation, undue detriment,
and the potential for litigation, a multifactorial approach must be taken to improve patient
outcomes. Key components in allaying drug related errors from a nursing perspective include:
implementing safety and quality measures, understanding the roles and responsibilities of the nurse,
embracing technological safeguards, incorporating interdisciplinary collaborative efforts, and
continued emphasis upon quality control. From a pragmatic standpoint, the nurse is ultimately the
last line of defense before a potential ADE reaches the patient (Tzeng, Yin, Schneider, 2013). As
such, methods which promote quality and safety play a

Teang began to feel unhappy in their marriage. She cried sometimes, wishing she had not married.
She did not tell Dodong this, not wishing him to dislike her. Yet she wished she had not married.
Not even Dodong whom she loved. It is interesting to note here that Teang still claims to love
Dodong despite the hardships they have gone through. It should also be noted that Yet she wished
she had not married, is a sentence that is separated from Not even Dodong whom she loved,
meaning it is the act of marrying at a young age that she regrets, not the fact that it is Dodong
whom she married. Not marrying Dodong was only an after thought.
The story goes on, however, to describe another suitor Teang had, Lucio, who was older than
Dodong by nine years. Lucio had married another after her marriage to Dodong, but he and his
wife were childless until now. If she had married Lucion, she wondered, would she have borne him
children? Maybe not, either. That was a better lot. But she loved Dodong.... Here we are given a
clearer picture about her unhappiness and disappointment.
It is particularly regarding child bearing at a young age that Teang is unhappy with. ...would she
have borne him children? Maybe not, either. That was a better lot. The regret she feels about the
marriage, then,

Olaudah Equiano And The African
Kristy Derrett
History 1310
TR 9:30
Olaudah Equiano, The Interesting Narrative of the Life Olaudah Equiano or Gustavus Vassa, The
African. Written by Himself. (London: The Project Gutenberg eBook, 2005)
In his book, The Interesting Narrative of the Life Olaudah Equiano or Gustavus Vassa, The African.
Written by Himself, Olaudah Equiano describes his life from the time he was captured and
enslaved at a young age to his journey to freedom. Throughout his book he recalls his culture back
in Africa and compares it with the strange, and obscure observations of his experience during his
time as a slave. Equiano sometimes struggles with his thoughts on slavery and his particular
situations sometimes contradict his judgments. During his time as a slave, Equiano faces a
journey that challenges him mentally, physically, and spiritually. Through his journey, Equiano
finds that the pathway to freedom is through intellectual development, and his new religious
finding of God through the bible. To make his argument, Olaudah Equiano starts his narrative by
describing the village he was from and their customs so that his readers can understand his
background. Equiano was from the village where in his culture manners are simple, and
luxuries are few . (53) His village is known as Essaku in the Kingdom of Benin, Africa. In his
village, Equiano was not aware of those who did not look like him. He had never heard or seen of
white people. Though he did not know of white people, he already

The Brady Bunch During The Vietnam War
The Brady Bunch was just reflective to the direction that family standards was shifting towards,
and even though The Brady Bunch wasn t the perfect nuclear family they still did uphold a vision
of an almost impossibly perfect blended family that came together so seamlessly after a
remarriage. While the idea of remarriage was changing the idea of marriageso did the supreme court
case Loving v. Virginia in 1967 which lead to the legalization of interracial marriage. In some
ways the case shifted the public s perception of what marriage was expected to be. As a result of
this you got new types of entertainment like Guess who s coming to dinner? Showing an interracial
couple that came out ironically unplanned around the same time as the court... Show more content

The census statistics during this period shows a distinct transition in family dynamics and the
growth of blended families across the nation. The transition to a broader definition of what
marriage can be is what arguably has led to societies social shift to a larger acceptance of
marriage that maybe historically didn t fit what the media portrayed as the ideal marriage; like
blended families, interracial marriage, and in recent years the shift to acceptance of
homosexual marriage and relationships that even in the 1960s was portrayed in cinema. The
ideal shift of a perfectly imperfect television family that obviously have face trials and
tribulations but still provides a loving home for children and a vessel for moral teachings is
something that we still see today on television. Full House is arguably an outcome of the
progression from The Brady Bunch era that expanded the idea of what marriage and family
could be. Full house is a form of a blended family in a non traditional way. Instead of a remarriage
you have a widowed single father with three daughters and his two male best friends helping raise
them. Without previous shows like The Brady Bunch paving the way for non traditional families,
shows like Full House might have never been given the avenue to tell these stories of non
traditional families that were actively living in the

The Edict Of Hamurabi And The Code Of The Salian Franks
Civilization has continued to exist and grow because of the many institutions that exist within
most individual cultures, such as art, religion, ethics, etc. I believe that the most important factor
in the development of civilization and the biggest aid to the success of past societies is law. Law
exists in every society that we have seen throughout this semester, whether it be from the earliest
examples of written law like in The Code of Hamurabi, or in the most recent example we have
seen in The Code of the Salian Franks. I will seek to analyze the examples of important laws that
we have seen throughout developing society, and how they were integral to the growth of the
civilizationthey were created in, including: The Code of Hamurabi, The... Show more content on

Enacted in 313 A. D. by Constantine Augustus, this law was made and established to prevent the
persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire, and was a huge step forwards for society for a
number of reasons. Firstly, the law was a very early example of tolerance and acceptance of
religious practices. This law was put in place to bring peace, but more so than just peace it
helped set a precedent for future civil issues and how they could be solved. among other things
which we saw would be for the good of many, those regulations pertaining to the reverence of the
Divinity ought certainly to be made first, so that we might grant to the Christians and others full
authority to observe that religion which each preferred; whence any Divinity whatsoever in the
seat of the heavens may be propitious and kindly disposed to us and all who are placed under
our rule (Edict of Milan, Page 1) The second, and arguably most important advancement this law
promoted was a turning point for the development of civilization through the vast growth of
Christians following the edict. While the Roman Empire had once been a Polytheistic
worshipping society, once Christians were granted the right to free worship, we see a very large
shift in the number of Christians compared to other forms of religion within the empire.
However, not only were Christians the majority in Rome, they quickly became the dominating
religion in the world, and because they became the biggest and most influential religion in the
world, their choices in early history are ingrained in our own society today. We typically measure
time in history by suffixing years with either BC or AD, which stand for Before Christ and anno
domini ; The latter being Latin for The year of our Lord . So through this law, we see civilization
not only getting its first taste of civil liberties, but also inadvertently affecting the way in which we

Disconcerting Behaviour in The Wasp Factory and A...
Compare the ways writers present disconcerting behaviour in both texts so far.
The following will elucidate how disturbing behaviour is conveyed in the novel The Wasp Factory
by Iain Banks and the play, A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams.
In A Streetcar Named Desire, the theme of violence is very frequent in the character Stanley
Kowalski. Stanley is a married, young man, who comes across to the reader as quite an enraged
person with animalistic attributes. A prime insinuation of Stanley s difference to regular humans is
when Stella DuBois (Stanley s wife) explains to her sister that Stanley is of a different species ,
foreshadowing that Williams may be warning the reader that Stanley is capable of things that are
not in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another indication of Stella s dependence in Stanley is when she claimed that she can t stand when
he (Stanley) is away for a night ... I cry on his lap like a baby. Although this highlights that Stella is
highly dependent on Stanley, we cannot ignore the fact that she loves him too.
Similar to Stanley Kowalski, the protagonist of The Wasp Factory, Frank Cauldhame also
behaves violently; however in Frank s case violence is directed mostly towards animals as he is
aware of his superiority to them, just as Stanley is aware he is superior to his wife. The reader
follows account of how Frank fills his long, solitary summer victimising animals such as rabbits, as
well as killing wasps on a daily basis.
Frank s annihilation of rabbits on the island is a crucial example of how violence is a
conventional part of his life as if he s accepted that killing and deliberately hurting things will
always be normal to him. Frank throttled the rabbit, swinging it in front of him ... its neck held on
the thin black line of rubber tubing . It is highly disturbing how a 16 year old is comfortable in
inflicting pain on innocent creatures, not to mention killing them as well as finding it rather
amusing, as he claims I felt good after his genocidal of the rabbits. Moreover, Frank does not
undergo any remorse after he has committed these harsh doings, because after he killed a cute little
bunny he kicked it into the water.
Despite Stanley

Building A Great Web Experimentation Testing Program
According to an article Build A Great Web Experimentation Testing Program of Avinash Kaushik
who is the author of Web Analytics 2.0: The Art of Online Accountability and Science of
Customer Centricity, there are 7 recommendations of how to build a successful testing program:
1. First get over your own opinions: If we are running the program it is important that first we
get over yourself. If we are going to convince everyone else that testing and validating opinions
should be a way of life, we should first truly drink the kool aid. Bottom line, we will get a
receptive audience and change minds much faster, because we are willing to open the kimono . 2.
State a hypothesis, not a test scenario: The golden rule is: Always start with a hypothesis, not test
details or test scenario. If people come to us and say, I wantto run a test different box shots, can you
swap this image with text, we should try different promotions etc; and then we should turn to the
person and say what is your hypothesis. It is amazing how many times people are taken aback by
that. Mostly because we as humans don t want to put that much thoughtinto anything. The magic of
this question is that it forces people to take a step back and think. They might come back to us and
say my hypothesis is this... or my hypothesis is that... Bottom line: Two great outcomes: 1) we can
now contribute to the creation of the test, rather than just starting with a I want you to do this 2) In
every well crafted

Comparison Of King John And The Magna Carta
In this essay I will discussing about King John and the Magna Carta. King John otherwise called
John Lackland ruled England for a long time in the Middle Ages. He was born in 24 December
1166 Beaumont Palace, Oxford to Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine, John was the most youthful
of 12 and the most loved child of Henry II. John was a disliked King for number of reasons like
unsuccessful battles, requesting higher taxes, this gave numerous haters. John was compelled to
sign the Magna Carta, as a result of his poor choices he made towards England.
The Magna Carta is a record that goes back to the year 1215. The name is Latin for The Great

chance that somebody was blamed for a wrongdoing they would be given an appropriate trial
and would be judged by their associates (individuals of a similar status, for this situation fellow

The Caribbean Slavery
Growing up in New York City, each year students are taught about the slavery that took place on
American soil. As a student, we put so much emphasis on slavery in America that it is almost easy
to forget that slavery existed outside of the United States. The reality is that slavery was common
all over the world at some point in time. Take for example, the slaveryin the Caribbeanwas just as
severe as slavery in the U.S. Slaves in the Caribbean faced the similar challenges and adversities
to the slaves in America. Often times slaves resisted their oppressors, most famously was the
Haitian Revolution, which had a powerful historical impact. Many Caribbean slaves lost their lives
by trying to become free, and many of them live today to tell us all about what had happened.
The slave societies were similar in every Caribbean island just happened in different centuries.
According to (Gab Heuman), Barbados sugar revolution of the seventeenth century did not vary
dramatically from what happened in Jamaica and Saint Domingue in the eighteenth century and
Cuba and Puerto Rico in the nineteenth. The only thing that was different amongst these countries
was the technology that was being used. Like in Cuba in the nineteenth century, for example, they
had more advanced equipment s than some enslaved had throughout the seventeenth century.
However, each enslaves in the Caribbean sugar plantation faced the same treatment no matter what
century they were in. The sugar plantation was

Essay about Ronald Dworkins Liberal Morality
Dworkin begins by roughly defining liberalism according to the New Deal: It combined an
emphasis on less inequality and greater economic stability with more abundant political and civil
liberty for the groups campaigning for these goals. Dworkin states that such a definition is
inadequate and goes on to elaborate on liberalism in more depth. The liberal, in economic policies,
demands that the inequalities of wealth be reduced through social programs such as welfare and
other redistributionfinanced by a progressive tax. Liberals also take a Keynesian policy toward the
governments stabilizing intervention in the economy, such as controlling inflation and
unemployment. And liberals support freedom of speech, racial equality and are... Show more

The conservative protects the commodity of liberty, valued for its own sake, more effectively than
the liberal. But unlike liberty, equality is a concept that can be shown, and because of this, it can be
stated that conservatives do in fact favor equality less and liberals more.
Two concepts of equality must be distinguished according to Dworkin: the first is that the
government should treat all its citizens, or all those that are in its charge as equals, and the second
principle of equality requires that the government treat all of those in its charge equally in the
distribution of some resource of opportunity. Liberals sense of equality will fall more into the latter
idea of equality. The conservative feels that, treating citizens as equals, as the liberals see equality,
would amount to treating the citizens in fact as unequal. The most efficient means of helping the
least well off in fact is the free market, and not the government s redistribution of wealth.
But then what does it mean for the government to treat its citizens as equals? The first supposes that
government must be neutral on what might be called the good life, and the second one supposes
that government cannot treat its citizens as equal human beings without a theory of what human
beings out to be. The first theory states that because every citizen has a different

At the turn of the 20th century, New York was and is still is the preeminent American city and

Before the American Revolution the Dutch, English, Scots and Germans were the primary settlers;
they were followed in the first half of the 19th century by New Englanders spreading across

European immigrants came first from Northern and Central part of Europe and later from southern
countries. While often not educated, they came in large numbers; Italians came by the millions,

The Traditional Way Of Education By John Dewey
The traditional way of teaching had been debated for a very long time because of the rights given
to teacher and only duties for students. A student had been just following the rules and orders that
are given to him by his teacher and there had never been any question or argument from any
student in this regard. A student is supposed to follow even without knowing the purpose why he
is following and what would be possible outcome. Many teachers think that students are not
capable of understanding the real concept or actual purpose of learning any specific lesson so they
must pass through the process and once they memorize or learn the thing they will soon be able to
implement that. Our traditional system supporters say that learning needs regular routine and tough

Dewey create a rift in two extremes in education i.e. traditional and reformist education. One is
traditional while other is free we can say that it is the difference between relatively organized,
controlled, well ordered, instructive traditional way education vs. relatively free, at liberty,
student directed advanced education. Dewey also analyzes old style schooling for missing in
complete understanding of students and planning set of courses overly focused on content
instead of making efforts in teaching content and making process which is judged by its
involvement to the well being of personalities and the general public. While on the other hand,
advanced education is too much conservative and takes a free methodology without actually
knowing how or why lack of restrictions can be best useful in schooling. Independence for the sake
of freedom is a weak way of life as well as education there must be some proper reason for this
demand. Dewey also says that we need to move beyond this model war and in order to do that we

New Place
Going to a new place was my great experience for learning coping skills, for developing self
discipline, and making friends. When I was about nine years old, I was a troubled boy. As a
fourth grader, I went to an elementary school in my small village. However, I grew up without
supervision because my father, as a soldier, was often deployed far away from home. After school
times, I hung around with other undisciplined boys in our neighborhood, and was influenced by
neighbor boys misbehaviors. I ran into mischief. Fortunately, my mother believed in Catholic
schools. She saved my life by sending me to a providing Catholic Church school, very far from
home, in Thuduc city, Vietnam for my education.

The answer is the cheetah. The cheetah, who growls, purrs, and makes chirping sounds, is the fastest land animal in short distances. First tamed by the Sumerians, cheetahs have been in captivity for over 5000 years. They were used as hunting partners for sport in Asia and were used as pets to Gengis Khan, Akbar the Great of India, and Mogul Emperor. The cheetah has unique characteristics, is a sneaky hunter, and has adorable cubs. The cheetah has unique physical characteristics and unmatched speed. • 4. The Great Playwright s Life Story Before the relatively short life of Lorraine Hansberry tragically ended, the African American playwright distinguished herself in American theatre and literature as she creatively and unknowingly challenged the views of African American life, among other inescapable issues of the nation and the world, on the theatrical stage. The great playwright s life story began on May 19, 1930. Although born during a time of hardship introduced by the Great Depression, Hansberry grew up rather comfortably in a middle class African American family from the Southside of Chicago ( Lorraine ). Her father, Carl Augustus Hansberry, not only established Lake Street Bank, one of the first Chicago banks to solicit black patronage, but also established himself as a successful real estate businessman (Jacobus, Lorraine 1223). Despite the middle class status, the family experienced racial tension, especially when the family bought and moved into a home in a racially restricted covenant which later resulted in the Hansberry vs. Lee U.S. Supreme Court case that influenced Hansberry s writing ( Lorraine ). After graduating Englewood High School in Chicago in 1948, Lorraine Hansberry left for college to pursue her interest in visual art ( Lorraine ). She attended the University of Wisconsin, the Art Institute of Chicago, and numerous other schools before moving to New York in 1950 (Jacobus, Lorraine 1223). Once in New York, Hansberry ditched visual art and found interest in theatre, which led her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Language In To The Lighthouse, By Virginia Woolf Virginia Woolf (1882 1941) was a prolific writer, whose style changed with each new novel, and her work represented the historical moment when art was integrated into society. Her modernist novel To the Lighthouse stray s from the conventional forms of writing, concentrating not on the plot but on the characters consciousnessand physical development, producing an innovative type of narrative which depicts realities beneath appearances, and at the same time brings about a deep exploration of the human mind. To the Lighthouse was written in 1927 and it is considered a masterpiece due to the way in which Woolf experimented with the stream of consciousness as well as with the emotional feelings of her characters. The composition has relatively... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This game of back and forth between what Lily and Mr. Ramsey are thinking, and what they are actual saying is clarified with the help of the parentheses, which signal the sudden switches in perspective. Thus at moments it is one character s consciousness, at others it is the narrative voice, and afterwards another character s consciousness is introduced, all of these being combined within one sentence. These aspects are psychological elements that constitute the basis for a modernist writing, and as Virginia Woolf said in her essay Modern Fictionfor the moderns the point of interest lies very likely in the dark places of psychology. (11) Though the novel contains a multitude of conventional narration and descriptions, the interior monologue is very often employed so as to give the novel its special character of seeming to be always within the consciousness of the characters. • 6. Sleep Deprivation And The Sleep Sleep is a basic necessity of everyday life. According to the National Foundation of sleep, a person is required to sleep at least seven to nine hours a day. (citation) As mentioned by Matt T. Bianchi in the book Sleep Deprivation and Disease, The normal quantity of sleep depends on the individual and a myriad of other factors such as environment and an individual s waking needs. (citation) This means that the quantity of sleep that people achieve depends on their body s needs and functions. Both quality and quantity are important when it comes to sleep. If one fails to acquire the appropriate amount of R.E.M sleep and sleeps less than six hours everyday for one week, then that person would have a total sleep debt of seven to fourteen hours. The effects of not sleeping properly can be felt as soon as the next day. As mentioned before, there are two types of sleep deprivation, partial sleep deprivation and total sleep deprivation. A person is considered partially sleep deprived if he or she gets less than five hours of sleep per night. If a person gets less than three hours of sleep per night, then he or she is considered sleep deprived. Sleep deprivation can either be caused by lifestyle or medical issues. Factors such as drinking coffee at night, obesity, stress, insomnia, and sleep apnea negatively affect the way one sleeps. As mentioned previously, sleep deprivation can affect one s physically. Some of these effects include: obesity, type two diabetes and heart disease. Most of these effects are cyclical. This means that it is a repeating process. Obesity is a physical illness which results in the extreme production of fat and cholesterol. • 11. `` Twilight `` By Stephanie Meyer Twilight by Stephanie Meyer has many codes and conventions from the genre that is gothic literature. Like The Italian by Ann Radcliffe there is a sense of anxiety from the monstrous power of unreality, and the characters of both Bella and Ellena do not know what is happening around them. A dark mystery is created throughout the novels, using sinister settings and threatening atmospheres. The idea of the sublime is shown through the descriptions of Ellena and Bella s surroundings. This put together with the strange characters they encounter, the sensibility within those characters all work together to slowly build their fears and introduces the idea of the paternal protector, Edward and his family for Bella with Vilvaldi and Schedoni... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Just like Twilight, The Italian also communicates the anxieties of women the late 18th to early 20th Century, where middle class women s homes were becoming uncomfortably like a castle or a prison, with constraints on their education and social developments. This is shown in the way female characters always end up trapped within gothic text. When Ellena is kidnapped, even though she faints, it is described differently: All consciousness had now forsaken her (Radcliffe, 61). Also when she is taken to the house of Spalatro, she faints, but the words in the narrative say that horror chilled all her frame, and her senses forsook her (Radcliffe, 211). Ellena is always thrust back into the middle of peril whenever she seems to reach safety. Ellena is able to remain pure yet strong despite what happens to her; she keeps the Marchesa cleverly controlling, while fearful of her husband finding out her plans. This slightly takes away from the stereotypical damsel in distress, making her seem less weaker than usual. She does not tremble with and fear and does not cry at every misfortune very often but she is also, always, saved and protected creating the role in simultaneously restricting women and providing them power. The Sublime also contributes to the mystery: obscure sounds, unexplainable events and dark figures distress and create anxieties within the characters. The sublime describes the natural ... His rich language describes Sleepy Hollow and Ichabod Crane s time spent there with lavish detail of the scenery and even the food.Ironically, the end and explanation of the Headless Horseman is different in the two sources. In the story, with Crane hungry for the supernatural, Irving implies with his ending that Brom Bones was the Horseman and that what happened could have a reality based explanation. This is the basis for The Orphan Master s Son, a book by Adam Johnson that details the lives and lies of North Korea. Focusing on a misidentified orphan by the name of Pak Jun Do, The Orphan Master s Son chronicles the life of Pak Jun Do, as he maneuvers the strict rules of the North Korean government in order to live another day. Throughout the novel, Jun Do endures a tough life under a merciless tyrant and a suffering father, remains loyal to his oppressors despite their torment, learns to accept his position in society no matter where he is taken, and inevitably exposed to the truth of his reality. This ignorance is vocalized by the Captain, who, when confronting Jun Do about coming up with a story for the Dear Leader, claims that ... no one ever taught [Jun Do] about family and sacrifice and doing whatever it takes to protect your own (83). By not truly understanding why his father acts in the cruel way he does, he is not able to learn what it is truly like to have a loving family. Regardless of their ambiguity and misdirection, like the young workmen, Jun Do continues to show loyalty to his tyrants and oppressors. Loyalty Throughout the beginning of the novel, Jun Do shows unwavering loyalty to his despots, despite their cruel treatment of him and his awful living conditions. Over the past 20 years, it has become one of the largest online marketplaces, with over 159 million active users around the world and more than 800 million items for sale. EBays vision is one that is enabled by people, powered by technology, and open to everyone (What We Do). EBay runs a more decentralized commerce system than Amazon and other e commerce companies. Their purpose is to act as a facilitator of peer to peer commerce rather than maintain their own inventory and sell directly to consumers. This gives more power to eBay marketplace sellers and allows for both auctions and fixed price sales. (EBay vs Amazon) With new startups on the rise such as Etsy, SellSimple, and Threadflip, along with e commerce veterans such as Amazon or Alibaba, eBay has to continuously work to improve its services to maintain its sellers and continue to attract a larger consumer base. There are numerous stories in the Bible. His story starts in the New Testament, though the prophecies about Him are in the Old Testament. Through the Bible, people have been able to decipher the Messianic prophecies, Jesuss death and resurrection, and Jesus s return. The Messianic Prophecies are prophecies about the Messiah. He will end the dark times, and bring joy (Isaiah 9: 1 7). God will make this possible by giving us Jesus, His Son (Isaiah 9:6). Jesus, who not only is the Son of God, but also God, will bring peace. He will be the king. This will happen because God loves us all so much. God then goes on to talk about how His Son will bring justice, and will not stick out in a crowd (Isaiah 42: 1 7). There was nothing particularly striking about Jesus, in appearance or demeanor (Isaiah 53:2). Because of others suffering, Jesus felt their sadness (Isaiah 53:4). God wanted Jesus to suffer in His life so that humans can be saved; though Jesus never complained. Jesus was the sacrifice. He died for our sins. But He succeeded in what was needed to be done. Afterward, He would have a remarkable spot in heaven (Isaiah 53:11 12). Jesus s death is one of the biggest events in the Bible. This particular disease lives in the nose and throat of the infected individual and is considered contagious for a period of four days before the rash appears and for a further four days after the sighting of the rash. The route of transmission of the disease is via infected droplets that spray into the air when people cough, sneeze or talk. Instead of using hand writing to write you can use a computer. I know when I write down on paper there are many things that are limited. Like when you constantly make mistakes and you start to erase a lot and the paper will start to rip. Also when writing long essays, I start it get lazy and my handwriting gets sloppy and in the end the essay isn t even readable. This is when technology is put into great use because it is used to help speed up the process of a simple thing that is used in our life. I believe that it is amazing how technology has developed over the past few years because now, not only does it simplify the things in life, it is now created to entertain us. As an independent agency created by Congress in 1974, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulates the creation and management of commercial low level waste sites through licensing, inspection, and enforcement of its requirements. Due to the apparent lack of new disposal sites, a closer analysis of the NRC s licensing requirements is needed. Is the current policy conducive to expansionary facilities in other parts of the nation? Are the technical and financial requirements established by the NRC for commercial facilities too steep to allow the creation of new facilities, creating a natural monopoly? In addressing these issues, the following analysis examines the NRC s current policy compared to proposed alternatives using empirical and theoretical analyses. A football has two points, one on each end, and travels in a direct path when thrown. He explains that after ignoring the soul of the jester, the queen rose in her pale night gown . Both have seen relative success with DC accumulating three billion dollars from all of their movies, and Marvel accumulating eight billion dollars (Box Office Mojo). However, the difference lies in the quality of the movie. DC s extremely successful Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy was a smash hit, grossing over one billion dollars in the box office (Box Office Mojo). Since then, DC has produced Man of Steel, Batman vs. Superman, Suicide Squad, and Green Lantern, all critically underwhelming. On the other hand, since the release of Iron Man in 2008, Marvel Studios has been exponentially increasing in popularity and box office success. That is why realtors are so important, whether you are thinking about buying or selling a home. One obvious reason that real estate agents are so vital is because they have the experience and training to handle any difficulty that could possibly come up. For instance, if someone is trying to purchase a new home and the propertyis foreclosed, they may not know exactly how to deal with the situation. In such a particular case, the impending homeowner would have to deal with a financial institution instead of a real person. This can actually complicate matters. Medication Errors From A Nursing Medication Errors Shonda Delmage Baker College of Cadillac 04/24/2015 Medication Errors Each year, roughly 1.5 million adverse drug events (ADEs) occur in acute and long term care settings across America (Institute of Medicine [IOM], 2006). An ADE is succinctly defined as actual or potential patient harm resulting from a medication error. To expound further, while ADEs may result from oversights related to prescribing or dispensing, 26 32% of all erroneous drug interventions occur during the nursing administration and monitoring phases (Anderson Townsend, 2010). These mollifiable mishaps not only create a formidable financial burden for health care systems, they also carry the potential of imposing irreversible physiological impairment to patients and their families. In an effort to ameliorate cost inflation, undue detriment, and the potential for litigation, a multifactorial approach must be taken to improve patient outcomes. Key components in allaying drug related errors from a nursing perspective include: implementing safety and quality measures, understanding the roles and responsibilities of the nurse, embracing technological safeguards, incorporating interdisciplinary collaborative efforts, and continued emphasis upon quality control. From a pragmatic standpoint, the nurse is ultimately the last line of defense before a potential ADE reaches the patient (Tzeng, Yin, Schneider, 2013). As such, methods which promote quality and safety play a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Written by Himself, Olaudah Equiano describes his life from the time he was captured and enslaved at a young age to his journey to freedom. Throughout his book he recalls his culture back in Africa and compares it with the strange, and obscure observations of his experience during his time as a slave. Equiano sometimes struggles with his thoughts on slavery and his particular situations sometimes contradict his judgments. During his time as a slave, Equiano faces a journey that challenges him mentally, physically, and spiritually. Through his journey, Equiano finds that the pathway to freedom is through intellectual development, and his new religious finding of God through the bible. To make his argument, Olaudah Equiano starts his narrative by describing the village he was from and their customs so that his readers can understand his background. The Edict Of Hamurabi And The Code Of The Salian Franks Civilization has continued to exist and grow because of the many institutions that exist within most individual cultures, such as art, religion, ethics, etc. I believe that the most important factor in the development of civilization and the biggest aid to the success of past societies is law. Law exists in every society that we have seen throughout this semester, whether it be from the earliest examples of written law like in The Code of Hamurabi, or in the most recent example we have seen in The Code of the Salian Franks. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Enacted in 313 A. D. by Constantine Augustus, this law was made and established to prevent the persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire, and was a huge step forwards for society for a number of reasons. Firstly, the law was a very early example of tolerance and acceptance of religious practices. This law was put in place to bring peace, but more so than just peace it helped set a precedent for future civil issues and how they could be solved. among other things which we saw would be for the good of many, those regulations pertaining to the reverence of the Divinity ought certainly to be made first, so that we might grant to the Christians and others full authority to observe that religion which each preferred; whence any Divinity whatsoever in the seat of the heavens may be propitious and kindly disposed to us and all who are placed under our rule (Edict of Milan, Page 1) The second, and arguably most important advancement this law promoted was a turning point for the development of civilization through the vast growth of Christians following the edict. While the Roman Empire had once been a Polytheistic worshipping society, once Christians were granted the right to free worship, we see a very large shift in the number of Christians compared to other forms of religion within the empire. However, not only were Christians the majority in Rome, they quickly became the dominating religion in the world, and because they became the biggest and most influential religion in the world, their choices in early history are ingrained in our own society today. We typically measure time in history by suffixing years with either BC or AD, which stand for Before Christ and anno domini ; The latter being Latin for The year of our Lord . Stanley is a married, young man, who comes across to the reader as quite an enraged person with animalistic attributes. The reader follows account of how Frank fills his long, solitary summer victimising animals such as rabbits, as well as killing wasps on a daily basis. Liberals sense of equality will fall more into the latter idea of equality. The conservative feels that, treating citizens as equals, as the liberals see equality, would amount to treating the citizens in fact as unequal.
