2. Process
For this Front-cover idea I opened up an
Adobe InDesign page where I could get a
6 by 6 grid to copy over to Photoshop. I
then got my A4 photograph and put my
accomplice slightly to the right instead of
in the middle so she fit in a grid. After this
I made up a title that I could use for a
magazine. After I had my title, I played
around with the hue and saturation of the
picture to make the image slightly darker
round the edges and overall more
realistic. I think that this type of layout
looks quite nice compared to the ones
seen below. It was easy to make, and also
easy to read and rather eye catching
because the page is not full of writing or
pictures.
3. Process
for this front cover, I used grid lines to
place my text box and main image. The
grid lines kept my work tidy and with
equal space between each text making
it look more professional than if they
were just placed anywhere on the page.
This process was the exact same as the
one above. The only difference between
the two was that the main image is
different. The reason I only changed the
photo was to see how the two different
images would look in a grid. One image
which shows the person at a distance
and the other showing the statue up
close.
My Overall opinion was that I preferred
the front cover with the girl diving in the
distance rather than the up close shot of
the statue because it was more
interesting to me.
5. Process
For page one of my first double page spread, I decided to write about
various locations that people could go diving at as well as some of the
things that are there and why it attracts people. For this to be possible
I had to research each of these different locations enough to write
about them. After getting the images from each of these different
locations I the names of the dive sights and the activity that was there
(if it involved an activity). I then had to decide what I wanted as a
background but because I forgot my camera with the photographs I
had taken at home, I had to replace it with a photograph of bubbles
from the internet as a replacement till I can get the photographs off
the camera. After I have the photo on the camera I will replace the
background with my image. After I have my image on the computer I
will then edit it in the photo gallery to add a nice effect to the
background. After I add the effects I will save my work and then
change the opacity of the image to make the background a lot less
visible so that people see that its there but are more interested in the
other images and texts instead of having a background that might ruin
the colours and text.
I think that this type of layout looks nice enough to be a double page
spread because its got some photos as well as the details of what the
photograph is (Where it is and what there is to do.)
6. Process
For the second page of the magazine I added 3 more diving
locations to give people a variety of different yet popular locations
where they could possibly plan their next dive. The images give an
example of what you can expect to see but also make divers want
to see it through their own eyes and experience what other people
have.
