This document compares the Audio-Lingual and Suggestopedia methods of language teaching. The Audio-Lingual method emphasizes listening and speaking through dialogues, memorization, and drills. It sequences skills as listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Suggestopedia aims to remove psychological barriers through a relaxing environment with music. It claims to teach languages more quickly than conventional methods by improving motivation and confidence. Both methods have advantages, but Audio-Lingual focuses on repetition and limiting errors, while Suggestopedia facilitates learning through positive suggestion and a stimulating setting.
