My music magazine is targeted at youths and young adults aged 16-24 living in London. It focuses on urban music like hip hop which is popular with this demographic but not older audiences. The magazine represents London youth culture through the models, stories, and clothing featured. It aims to attract both male and female readers by including topics like fashion that appeal to females and rap battles that appeal to males. The overall target audience is diverse young people in London interested in modern urban music and entertainment.

2. My music magazine is targeted at youths and young adults from the age of 16. I have chosen to aim
my product at this age of people as they are most likely to take interest into this genre of music
as older people do not enjoy urban based music and entertainment. With this in mind, it made it
clear that it would be sensible to make my product attractive to young people. To be more
precise, my product will most suitable for young people living within London. This is because the
models and some of the stories in the magazine particularly represent the London youth culture
through their body language, choice of texts and clothing choices. For example I have included
artists that are local to South London. By doing this it ensures that young people from this area
In addition to this, my product would be for both males and females due to the fact that this genre is
listened to both sexes. Therefore my product uses primary and neutral colours that can be used
to represent both the genders equally. Also there are topics within the magazine that will attract
the interest of young females and some events that will draw the male target to the magazine.
For example due o the fact that fashion trends are usually associated as being a more feminine
aspect, I have included a “Fashion Vs Celebrities” article on the front page which puts celebrities
against each other to see whose tastes in fashion are better. I have also mentioned rap battles
on the front cover which is labelled as being a male hobby. However even though females tend to
engage with Hip Hop, it can be said that Hip Hop is mainly a male dominated genre. Therefore to
show this I have used bold graffiti and bold text to demonstrate masculinity personalities of the
magazine.
Overall as a whole, the audience for my product is for the youths and young adults, particularly living
in London and very diverse cities. As well as this it will be aimed for both males and females that
take interest in modern urban music and entertainment within this genre.
