Question 4 A2 Media
1. How did you use media technologies in the
construction and research, planning and
evaluation stages?
By Jack Hynes
2. Research & Planning
Primarily for Research & Planning I utilised internet services like
Google, Youtube & material put on our college website (Moodle) from
our teacher. I also used media technologies in the form of Microsoft
Excel to create graphs to display my data.
I think I utilised media technology throughout the Research &
Planning period well to flesh out my work but I feel I could've used a
wider variety of sources to research from.
4. Construction (Production)
For the production process of our Construction we used technology in
the form of a DSLR D600 Camera, Tripod, a 50 millimeter lens for
the DSLR as well as the standard lens, A phone camera to
capture images of crew working while we recorded the work and
set up.
One thing we did not use and If I were to record again I would use is
a boom pole & microphone. We used the microphone built into
the camera because most of our shots were close-ups sound
quality would've been better if we had used a 3rd
party
microphone
6. Construction (Post-Production)
For Post Production I used Sony Vegas 12. I used this instead of Final
Cut because I could edit at home using this software and I am familiar
with it in comparison to Final Cut which is what is used in our College.
This had benefits for me as I was able to put more time in to editing
my product. For my ancillary texts I utilised Photoshop CS6 to make
them
8. Evaluation
In the evaluation stages of my project I used technologies in the form of a
camera phone, USB microphone & Open Office Presentation. With the
presentation I made I also used the website “Slide Share” to upload it to
use it online.
Considering there are 4 evaluation questions and I have only used 3
different methods to address these questions I felt like I could've used a
4th
medium and also possibly not used Slide Share so my medium
could've been more interactive.
