1. Contents Page: Construction on Photoshop
Althoughamajorityof my contentspage will be createdinInDesign,wantedtouse Photoshopto
change the appearance of some logos.
Because I knowmycolourscheme isgoingto be pastel pinkandblue,Iwant my page colourto be
blue andthemthe designsinpink.Iwant toinclude a ‘contactus’ section therefore Iusedpopular
interneticonsandchangedthemintopink iconstogo withmy theme:

usedinmy frontcoverand double page spread.Thisissoeverythingflowswellthroughthe
magazine andshowsconsistency.

I wanted to use a pastel blue background because that
was one of the two colours of my colour scheme. I
wanted to use the blue colour rather than the pink
because I wanted to variate the colours of the pages and
didn’t want them to all look similar yet I wanted the
consistency between them. This is why I the detailing in
my contents page is pink.
Starting off the design with the title. Using the icons I
made previously, I placed them at the top of the page
primarily so that the
“Contents” doesn’t look empty. I think this goes in
together well however looking at this, the icons need
adjusting to prevent the emptiness at the top of the page.

2. I beganthinkingof waystosectionmypage andI also stretedwriting
the ‘fromthe editor’section,thiswassothatI can adjustthe size and
placementof thisasI make more improvements- almostlikeabase
for mywork. The ‘fromthe editor’sectionwillalsoincludeaphotoof
myself (the reasonforthe large space).
I addedmore pinkbars to clearlysectionthingsoff sothatthe page
looksorganisedandneat.Ialsoaddedwhite bars- justlike the double
page spreadand the coverpage to addto the consistencyaswell asit
fillingoutblankspaceswithoutlookingcrampedormessy.
I currentlydonot know whatI want to include inmycontentspage.
Howeverlookingatmycontentspage I don’tfeel there isenough
space.I may needtochange the font size andthenmove some of the
bars so that itwouldhave enoughroomto fitwhatI potentiallywant.
I thenplannedoutwhatkindof titlesthatI wanted andhow they
were goingtobe organised.IdecidedthatIam goingto sectionof my
contentsinto4 sections:EveryMonth,Features,Interviewsand
Reviews.Ialsomade sure toinclude page numbersandmake sure
that the coverlinesdonot overlapothersandtookintoconsideration
howmany pagestheywouldrealisticallytake upina magazine.
I alsoneededtoinclude approximately4imageswithinmycontents
page.I wantedtomake sure that the photosthat I chose relatedaa
particulararticle or isa relavantphotoof myself toinclude intothe
‘fromthe editor’section.

I nowneedto place all of thistogetherintomycontentspage,makingsure tocheck all of the
spellingandmakingandfurtheradjustmentsif needed.

3. Here is myfinal result:
As a resultof this,I hadto change the size of the ‘editor’sectionaswell aschangingthe size of the
columnsinorderto equallyplace 4in them.Thiswasn’ta botherto me as I thinkitlooksmuch
betterthissize asit isn’tempoweringthe entirepage.
I highlightedthe titlesforeachsectionwithapickbackgroundin orderto make it standout and
easierforthe readerto locate.I’ve alsoplacedthe numberslargerthanthe textthatfollowsforthe
same reason.
Overall Iam contentwiththispage as everythingisnicelyplacedandorganised.
