What is a film
poster?
A film poster is a way of advertising an upcoming film to
the public. Usually by adverts on busses, bus stops, shop
windows etc.
Its purpose is to promote a film and allow the public to
decide if it looks like their type of film.
A poster consists of an image usually portraying the main
character, a title which will entice the audience, also a
tagline, list of actors and many more. All these things will
help someone decide whether it interests them. It is
important it is well designed as the public wont have seen
the trailer so it is the first impression of the film.
The actors
names at the
bottom are good
for advertising
as certain
people have
favourite
actors/actresses
and also ones
they dislike.
That could
automatically
change
someone's view
on a film.

This image is
eye catching at
a glance and
enticing to look
at when out in
the public.

The title is rather
small yet
effective. The
use of the red
grabs your
attention.
