Vehicular ad-hoc networks allow vehicles to communicate with each other and with roadside infrastructure to share safety and non-safety related information. However, attackers posing risks by altering or sending false safety messages, which could result in accidents. The document proposes using a trusted platform module to ensure security, trust, and privacy in vehicular networks by authenticating users and messages to guarantee legitimate sources and prevent accidents from incorrect safety information.
