3. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a decision-
making procedure originally developed by Thomas
Saaty. Its primary use is to offer solutions to decision
problems in multivariate environments, in which
several alternatives for obtaining given objectives are
compared under different criteria.
In this case, we use AHP to solve ‘choosing the best
car’ problem in a family which there is a child and his
parents. Because of those members (not only a person
who make the decision), we get the new problem
because there are three perspective too in the process
of giving weights for each choices.
PRELIMINERY
25. By the AHP, we know that child and
mother choose Panther, but father choose
Kijang. Based on the fact, we can decide
that Panther is the best car for the family.
