Compare And Contrast Waffles And Pancakes
Each morning, human beings are puzzled by one of the toughest decisions that have to be made.
This decision can determine the outcome of one's entire day. If chosen incorrectly, the results could
be disastrous! That decision being: "Which is better, waffles or pancakes?"
We were dining in at the old Coffee House in Lenoir, North Carolina. We came in hungry and
wanted a good breakfast to start off the first day of school. We got our menus and started to order.
Before I go any further, we usually agree on most things, but for some reason we found each other's
weakness. I wanted waffles while he wanted pancakes.
Waffles and pancakes may look similar in their usual circular shape, but when compared to one
another, their textures are quite different.

Waffles or Pancakes? Essay
Although it is not a pressing issue, the dilemma concerning whether the waffle or the pancake is the
superior breakfast food is one that has divided breakfast tables nationwide and sparked an age–old
debate amongst breakfast eaters everywhere. I, being a regular at the breakfast table, am very
opinionated on this topic, but when I am asked why the waffle is the superior breakfast food, I find
myself talking in circles, claiming it to be the best "simply because it is". This, of course, is nowhere
near a good answer, so I decided to borrow a technique from utilitarianism called hedonistic
calculus, which is used to solve ethical dilemmas. This technique involves assigning point values to
every component and finding the "score" each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus forth, the 2 points in this category will be awarded to the waffle.
Being the physics oriented person I am, I tend to think like an engineer, trying to figure out the best
design for any product. The basis by which we will critique the functionality of the breakfast foods
in question is the ability to hold syrup. When syrup is added into the equation, the waffle clearly
comes out on top considering that the structure was designed with perfectly sized compartments to
hold syrup. Pancakes, on the other hand, end up soaking up all the syrup causing it to lose its
structure and further add to the mushy texture. Yet again, the waffle is found to be superior and will
receive the 2 points.
The waffle, however, comes up short in the category of cost. While the make up of the two foods are
essentially the same, the waffle requires special equipment to prepare. These waffle makers can cost
anywhere from 15 to 100 dollars as opposed to the traditional skillet that can be found in most
households. This financial ease that the pancake allows earns it the 2 points in this section.
Based on the results found by using hedonistic calculus, I have deduced that waffles are far
preferable in my own opinion. The waffle, having received full points in the categories of taste,
texture, and functionality, totaled to a score of 7. The pancake came up short, only receiving the
points for the cost efficiency category, giving it a not so grand

Spicy Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Red Velvet Waffles with Spicy Butter Pecan Syrup
If I took one day longer to publish this recipe I know my followers would chew me out! I debuted
this Spicy Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Red Velvet Waffles with Butter Pecan Syrup on my Twitter
last week and seemed to get pretty good engagement on the pictures. YAY! =) My taste tester
thoroughly enjoyed the meal and said they would pay for it in a restaurant sooo I think I have a
winner, guys! Who knows, I might actually sell this meal in my future restaurant.
Background on Spicy Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Red Velvet Waffles
In all honesty, I don't have an elaborate story on how I developed this recipe. I saw a picture of

I was thinking about making a spicy chocolate syrup to play off of the small amount of cocoa
powder in the red velvet waffles. I also thought the spicy chocolate syrup would work well with the
chicken because, mole. LOL, BUT I know most of my readers have probably never tried chicken
mole and would probably write me an email cussing me out for pairing chicken with chocolate!
Anyway, I settled on making a spicy butter pecan syrup from scratch. Yes, my loves, we can make
syrup in our kitchens! Fear not, I promise it's not very labor intensive. I toasted my pecans for a few
minutes then I added them to the syrup (which is just sugar and water) then I added some cayenne
pepper, some chipotle powder, some bourbon and of course butter. This syrup is not lacking in the
spice department, it will rattle your taste buds. The heat won't overwhelm you so there's no need to
worry.

Waffles: A Fictional Narrative
Bella found Edward on the front porch the next morning. He was huddled on a small bench in the
far corner smoking a cigarette. He brought his head up at the sound of the door opening and
shutting. "Morning sweetheart," he said teasingly as she approached him. "Good morning to you too
handsome," she giggled plopping down next to him. She had woken up to find his side of the bed
cold indicating that he had been gone for a quite while. She felt a little awkward knowing what they
did the night before but Edward seemed unbothered. He almost looked more relaxed than usual. The
experience was wonderful for her but in some ways, it was not what she envisioned it would be like.

"Somebody's ready for his breakfast," Edward laughed, getting up to fill Shadow's bowl. A while
after, Bella felt him behind her. He wrapped his arms around her bringing his lips to her ear, lightly
nipping at the lobe. She dropped the wooden spoon she was using to mix. "I don't remember getting
a good morning kiss." His voice was husky with what sounded like desire. She spun around in his
arms, facing him now. "Your lips were occupied with something else," she said with a shrug.
"They're unoccupied now," he smirked, his arms sliding lower. She was wearing only shorts and one
of his old t–shirts. He slipped his hand into he waistband of her pants, pausing. "And still no kiss."
Bella felt as if every nerve in her body was on fire. She stood up on the tips of her toes, bringing her
lips to his. The tip of her tongue slowly traced his bottom lip as she brought her hand up running it
through his hair. He removed his hands from her pants, dragging them slowly upward, underneath
the large t–shirt toward the front of her body. Her breath caught in her throat as he cupped her

Personal Narrative: The Grocery Store
The grocery store is one of my favorite places, but it offers so many different items, making it hard
to choose even the simplest of purchases. So I went to Whole Foods and did the dirty work for you,
finding one item in each aisle that is absolutely essential.
1. Flour, Sugar, Candy & Fruit Snack Aisle
First glance down this aisle, I already knew what I absolutely had to have: chocolate. Although it
was the obvious essential, the flavor of my chocolate was not as easy to decide on. In the end, I
decided to go with a sea salt dark chocolate bar because nothing can beat the classic combination of
salty and sweet.

Coffee, Juices, Sodas and Tea Aisle
I have never been much a of a soda or juice drinker, and quite honestly have a small love affair with
lattes, which makes coffee the obvious choice for me. There are so many different flavors of ground
coffee, but my personal choice was Octane Coffee (or any coffee from a local coffee roaster), in my
best attempts to make a coffee shop quality latte in my own house.

9. Frozen Veggies, Fruits and Entrees Aisle
From this aisle, I picked frozen açaí. Açaí is essential to make açaí bowls–basic, I admit, but
undeniably necessary.

10. Frozen Bread, Desserts, Waffles and Ice Cream Aisle
Ice Cream is one of the items I would not leave the store without in any circumstance, but there are
so many tempting flavors that picking just one was difficult. Whole Foods carries a lot brands of ice
cream that I have not tasted, so I had to go with a tried and trusted flavor: Ben & Jerry's Americone
Dream.

Paleo Waffles Research Paper
Paleo waffles are a favorite choice in my family. They're perfect for breakfast, but can be enjoyed as
a snack too. Quick and easy, waffles take minutes to cook and taste delicious. Almond flour gives a
rich, buttery flavor, while bananas add sweetness. There is no need to add sugar or honey. These
crispy waffles are simply perfect!
There is more than one way to make paleo waffles. You can add blueberries, strawberries, coconut
flour, almonds, cinnamon, and other healthy ingredients. With so many waffle recipes available, you
won't feel like you're on a diet. Your family can enjoy these treats too!
My favorite paleo waffles are made with almond flour, real butter, eggs, bananas, and vanilla. I also
add a pinch of salt and ground cinnamon. Sometimes I also prepare syrup using raw honey, coconut
oil, and unsweetened cocoa powder. Applesauce goes well too! This recipe can be dressed up with
more fruits and spices according to your taste. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Waffle Now Case Analysis
I personally believe that if a business is unable to pay their workers a liveable wage, they are inept
at running said business. The idea that the restaurant is barely making a profit suggests poor
business management skills, or at worst a gross level of misinformation being provided. If, as the
second letter states, they are making so little profit then perhaps the owner or corporate should be
stepping in to see why the business is doing so poorly. If the manager is providing misinformation to
garner sympathy or avoid paying proper wages, then clearly a new manager is required as this one
shows poor problem resolution skills. If Waffle Now were forced to close due to a pay increase for
their employees, there is a significantly larger issue

Transportation has become one of the measurable aspects that can be used to gauge economic
progress. Transportation faces many variables of instability and natural disasters are becoming an
ever more common factor. Over 40 vessels were booked to arrive or depart at the port of Yokohama

Japan's shipping industry and services, both imports and exports, came to an absolute halt. (Leach,

(Dittman, Harmon & Knickle, 2012) Waffle House, for example, is responsible for the coined term
and process called "the Waffle House Index" used by Federal Emergency Management Agency
(FEMA) director W. Craig Fugate. During a catastrophic event, Waffle House measures the extent
of damage based on what level the restaurants are operating. If the restaurant has full power and is
serving a full menu the area is labeled as GREEN. If the restaurant has no power but serving a
partial menu the area is labeled as YELLOW. Finally, if the restaurant is completely closed then the
area is labeled as RED (Kouvelis, 2011) During a disaster, a store such as Waffle House experiences
an exposed or damaged supply chain which decreases the supply and in turn increases the demand.

The reason organization is important, is because without how are you going to be an effective
business. When you are organized, ideas are clearly stated meaning that you and the teacher know

path is already drawn out for you. Keeping receipts, managing money, storing important documents,
knowing who does what. Organization is so important, you will be marked on it during the Market

It was a dark and cloudy night that John sat in his room on his phone and listening to the thunder
that followed the lightning. John thought it must have been pouring down hard for about three hours
now. He heard a faint sound outside besides the rain and thunder, it was one he recognized. John

John from loving this cat. Waffles was under part of the roof for cover, but he was still soaked. John

A Presentation Of Waffle Frolic
On Friday, April 15, our group made a presentation about Waffle Frolic, a local restaurant that
specializes in breakfast and brunch. In the presentation, we used direct method 2 to recognize the
problem, identify the cause, find the solution, and analyzed cost and benefit.
Overall, we will give our self a score of 9 because all members of our team had a strong and
professional tone throughout our presentation without the use of fillers and incorporating subtle
transition points. Furthermore, we had a credible, clear, and varied content base backed up by
evidence and visual support. However, there are many areas that we all need to work on including
finishing the respective phrase before answering a question and coordinating our stance and posture.
We believe that our overall presentation style and tone were appropriate given our content and
context. First, the attire of our team members was consistent, professional, and matches the color
theme of our PowerPoint slides. This created a positive and credible first impression for the
audience. Second, throughout the whole presentation, we maintained a professional and transparent
presentation style. Even when being interrupted and answering questions, we didn't slack off and
still managed to remain professional. We were open and receptive to the audience at all times.
Third, we incorporated what we learned from the Management Communication textbook into our

Our struggle, however, is forgotten once the waitress finally arrives, casually sauntering over to us

"So, whaddyallhave?" she asks, waiting for us to decipher her strange and jumbled dialect. More
often than not, the only reason we come here is to order what Waffle House is most famous for, and
that (as if you needed to be told) is coffee. Waffle House coffee is a mystical brew with high
caffeine content and an identifiable taste. No other restaurant's coffee is as desirable, because only
Waffle House's has that "real man," industrial strength flavor. Grumpily, the waitress stomps away,

Anyone who knows anything about the politics behind the Waffle House experience also knows that
there are definite rules and guidelines that dictate how the course of events is to be played out

Awaking from my daze to peer out the large, sweeping windows of the tour bus. Speeding past me is
the Normandy countryside located on France's northern coast. After driving for an hour, we appear
to be slowing down. The tour guide, Gilles, speaks over the intercom in his accented English
describing the medieval structures of the town we are approaching. From a distance it appears to be
a tourist haunt. Honfleur is a beautiful town that is different from anywhere else in the world. The
pink bus parks in an area designated for larger vehicles. I exit the bus and immediately can smell
salt in the air from the harbor. A breeze brushes my face and it is refreshing after the stale air on the
bus. Screeching from sea gulls fills the air as does churning water. My friends, Sydney, Morgan, and
Haylee, and I group together out of habit. We begin our walk toward the actual town which is
nearby. Along the way flowers in pinks, purples, and yellows line the sidewalk we walk on, and a
roped fence separates us from traffic. Traffic is busy this time of day as it is around four o'clock. Sun
is shining into my eyes blinding me momentarily, but I continue walking across the road. Ahead of
me our group has begun to circle Gilles. He speaks about the ancient town while we walk down an
alleyway. We end up in a square between buildings. One of the houses has a garden with a variety of
bright flowers in it. After a moment I begin walking and turn a corner and the reason

Waffle Now Case Analysis
I can understand both of the arguments presented in these two passages. On one side, we have
regular workers trying to establish a stable and reliable source of income, one that they can use to
provide for themselves. On the other side we have a business that has to keep the customers,
employees, and it's own needs in mind. After considering the information supporting each of these
sides, I have come to a position that falls somewhere in the middle.
I think that Waffle Now should definitely raise their employees' wages, atleast by a little bit. In the
first sentence of paragraph three in letter two, Kelley DeGuzman states that the federal non–tipped
minimum wage is more than three times higher than the tipped minimum wage. This is a ridiculous
difference when you consider that amount for tipped minimum wage is expected to be met or almost
met by tips alone.
It puts a big portion of the employees' expected minimum wage at the mercy of everday customers.
You can never be one hundred percent sure if a customer will tip or not, even if you did provide
excellent service. This is because there are various different factors that go into a customer's
decision on how much to tip, if at all. These factors include the individual ... Show more content on

I agree that that would not be beneficial to the employees' or restaurant's best interest. However, like
I said before, I do believe that the wages should be raised to meet somewhere in the middle. Letter
two explains why it wouldn't be good to raise the wages by three times, but I don't see why the
restaurant cant meet somewhere in the middle. For example they could raise menu prices a little bit,
not a drastic amount, and maybe shorten shifts a little bit, raising overall wages by atleast a little

Waffles: A Narrative Fiction
"You two look stressed," The sweet voice said poring coffee into the now empty cups. The brothers
were sat in Bella's café, Weinig Bean Coffee Shop, it served the best Belgium Waffles. "Thanks
Bella, we just have a long night a head of us" The older of the two said before he gaze fell on his
brother. His head was in his hands, his normally styled hair was a mess, and he looked about ready
to vomit. "I can't do this," He said slowly after Bella was gone. "You have too, Feliciano will be
waiting for you at the party. Don't worry Kleiner Bruder I'll be there to help you out" his smile was
strained, as he himself worried over the thought of there upcoming plans. Gilbert and Ludwig had

"Thank you too for coming Gilbert, I do so appreciate it" He leaned over placing a small kiss to his
cheek before housing Ludwig up. "Feliciano where are we going?" Ludwig sighed as he was
reluctantly pulled to his feet; he had enjoyed being outside. "To meet my Grandfather, and don't be
nervous–" his words faded out as the two departed. Gilbert sighed leaning back on the bench closing
his eyes. "I'm serious Frances, I can't understand him, why won't he accept it?" He heard a pouting

Speech On Vacation
"Finally, we get to go on vacation!" I exclaimed as we got up to leave. My parents had already
loaded up the car and we were ready to go. All morning while I was getting ready was the sound of
suitcases being dragged around and the beeping of the car as the trunk opened and closed. Then I
heard all of my other seven brothers and sisters get into the car. We of course have a huge car, but
even with that it's still a little cramped. All of my brothers stunk up the car and it made the spilt milk
smell ten times worse. We had an hour drive to the airport and then another 5 hours on a plane. My
oldest brother, Andrew had already fallen asleep and my other 3 brothers were poking him and
trying to annoy him but he was out cold. Because in total there are ten of us it's super rare that we
ever get to go on vacation. But my dad just got a ton of extra vacation days so we finally decided to
go on a vacation. This vacation is going to be awesome, as long as no one gets lost, sick, hurt, or
complaints. Well maybe the complaining part won't happen, but hey, I can always hope. A long, long
hour later we arrive at the airport and park the car. This is the dreaded part, trying to get everyone's
things organized. My bag, of course, is a decent size. Andrews seems a little small but then again, he
wears the same outfit every day and probably won't need much else. Then my older sister Chloe's
bag comes out. It's huge! It seriously looks like it was about to explode. But it's too big,

Waffles in a snap
The record for the most waffles eaten is 18.5 but, we are just going to make a few. All you really
need is waffle mix about two cups, a waffle iron, a bow, 1 ¼ cups of water, and finally about two
tablespoons of oil. It is seven o'clock you have just opened your eyes to realize that there is an
intoxicating smell coming from the kitchen, you race down the stairs and find out that your mom
has made her famous waffles and you want to learn how to make them for in case she is gone.
First and foremost, you must find the perfect spot for the waffle iron. A place that you can leave it
for at least thirty minutes without it getting in someone's way. Once you find that spot set it down
and plug it in. Make sure one last time that

Pancakes Vs Waffles Research Paper
In a battle of epic proportions, who will win? Waffles or Pancakes? While both are widely eaten and
made, pancakes, with their easy assembly, creativity, and versatility, are the superior breakfast food.
Both pancakes and waffles are popular breakfast foods that everyone has eaten. I too have had, and
made, many pancakes and waffles in my lifetime. Pancakes are far easier to assemble. They only
require premade pancake mix, a stove, and a pan. Everyone has these things! A waffle iron,
however, is much harder to come by. Waffle irons also constrict creativity. All of your waffles are
going to be in whatever standard square or circular shape your waffle iron is. Pancakes can be made
into any shape! People even endeavor into pancake art, making

I was more than ready to enter Watiki Indoor Water Resort in Rapid City, South Dakota on July 26,
2016 I set a towel down on the beach chair. I was so excited to make the third day of vacation
GREAT!!!! SPLASH! I threw myself into the water. I came up, smiling. "Can we do it again?" I
asked. Everybody, except for Mom glared at me. Mom simply said, "No, Isabel." I shrugged and
went over to the beach lounge chair things. Then I went to the pool. I tried a simple, fun obstacle
course. At the third obstacle, I tipped back in the pool's water! After a few backflips, I went back to
see my mom. I was as cold as ice as I skipped merrily over to the beach chairs. I settled down in a
chair with a towel covering me. I waved to my mom, who was sitting in the chair next to me. "Do
you want to go on the water slide with me? It will be fun! Please?" Mom asked. I could sense the
urge in her eyes, though it didn't match her words or facial expression. I I screamed at the top of my
lungs until I finally got to my senses during the part that provided enjoyment. I realized it was
making me happy and relaxed!!!!!!!! Ten times as usual, actually! Happy as a humming
hummingbird, I told my mom about my HONEST opinion. "Sorry I screamed. That was awesome!"
I said. I decided to chill out in the hot tub for maybe 5 minutes. After that, I was desperate to go on

Belgian Waffles: A Breakfast with Benefits
For this review, I chose the Waring Pro WMK600 Double Belgian–Waffle Maker because I love
recreating restaurant–inspired meals for my family. This appliance helps me do just that. Originally
designed for commercial kitchens, this professional–style waffle maker bakes waffles quickly and
evenly. And, since it cooks two waffles at a time, I can serve them faster than my family can eat
them.
Features
I particularly like the Waring Pro Belgian–Waffle Maker's audiovisual indicators. This cool feature
signals when it's time to pour the batter, and when it's time to remove the waffles. Perhaps the best
feature of this countertop appliance, though, is its 13/8" deep waffle grids. It's delicious perfection:

It stands at 9x3" inches tall and measures 9.75" inches wide by 15.5 inches deep.
Cleaning
The nonstick grid makes cleanup a snap. Simply leave the lid open to allow the grid to cool. Then
brush away crumbs with a damp cloth. A quick wipe of the stainless steel exterior will remove any
stains.
Design
The round device looks just like any other waffle maker. The differences lie in its 1400 watts of
power, a 180–degree flipping capacity and a browning control knob for custom baking. Also, it is
compact with a firm–grip handle to limit accidents. A vertical position option allows a little extra
counter–space between meals.

Over 1,300 owners reviewed the Waring Pro WMK600 Double Belgian–Waffle Maker on
Amazon.com. The rating: 4.7 out of 5 stars. Most users agree that it is a perfect, fast, and even

Research Paper On Pancakes
INTRODUCTION
The product offered by Flips are Pancake, Crepes, and Waffle which is made of Pancake mix.
Pancake mix is made of flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in
the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth. Different varieties of flavors are offered for
customer's satisfaction.
PANCAKE
The word pancakes appears in print as early as 1430. Pancakes may have been around since
Neolithic humans domesticated einkorn wheat, ground it into flour mixed with bird's egg and goat's
milk and poured the batter on a heated rock. The Romans as revealed in the cookbook by Apicius
made dishes similar to modern pancakes. Medieval pancakes, frequently made form barley or rye
and lacking leavening, were relatively ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The exact origins of this honeycombed cake are unknown, but the story of its evolution from a thin,
crisp wafer to a thick, leavened cake, is a fascinating one. It is hard to imagine the waffle without its
iconic honeycombed surface, but in the beginning it probably started as a simple, flat cake. The
ancient Greeks cooked flat cakes, called obelios, between hot metal plates. As they spread
throughout medieval Europe, the cakes – made from a mixture of flour, water or milk, and
sometimes eggs – became known as wafers and were also cooked over an open fire between iron
plates with long handles. At some point, perhaps in the 13th century, these began to be stamped with
various designs ranging from family crests and landscape scenes to the characteristic grid pattern.
The Dutch were particularly fond of waffles and colonists introduced them to the New World in the
early 17th century. (It was in the New World that these cakes met their perfect companion, maple
syrup.) By 1735, the word gained an extra "f," becoming waffle as we know it today. Thomas
Jefferson is said to have brought the first long–handled waffle iron to America in 1789. About 80
years later, New York's Cornelius Swarthout patented the first stovetop waffle iron. Waffle cones for
ice cream debuted at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis. On the home front, the old stovetop waffle
irons were outfitted for

Are Waffles Better Than Pancakes?
Have you ever been in a rush or really late to your destination or job? What would you grab when in
a rush? A scrumptious waffle or a messy pancake? I'll make the decision for you, a waffle. Waffles
are perfect for on the go situations because the divots in the waffles are perfect to keep syrup, butter
and other topping in but with a messy waffle the toppings just fall off without the divots.
The long running debate which food is better, waffles or pancakes. Here are a few reasons why
waffles are a more intelligent choice. Reason number one, first of all waffles are much bigger than
pancakes and can store things like syrup and butter in the amazing squares, but if you put syrup or
butter on a pancake it would just slide off because pancakes

Persuasive Essay
"Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be
graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr.
Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously
groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and
about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose
and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already
rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death
penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly
making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I
have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a
tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk. Even
sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such
desperate times, my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that a waffle
was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to
your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked
everyone the age old question: "Do you like

Descriptive Essay About Mother's Beach
Mother's Beach holds a dear place in my heart. It is where mothers bring their children knowing the
calm, cool waves will allow their young to experience all the joy a beach can provide. I had been
there many of times in my short but happy life. At the time I had just been faced with all the
excitement that comes with celebrating a birthday; I was now the big 5 years old. I thought I was
ready to take on the world, sadly, I was unaware of all the seemingly innocent dangers out there in
the world. My family and I were planning a trip to Mother's Beach trying to reminisce in all the
memories we had of Long Beach. In a couple days, we would be moving half–way across the U.S.
to Tulsa, Oklahoma making this our last trip to our beloved and special place. It would be a break
from all of the hectic and assiduous process of packing up our entire house.
My dad helped my mom load up our white mini–van with everything we needed: towels, sunscreen
for our pale as can be skin, and more beach toys than anyone could ever possibly need; we were
ready to conquer the beach. We said, "goodbye" to our dad who was making his way out the door to
go to work and started out our 15 minute journey to Mother's Beach on Pacific Coast Highway
anticipating the contentment this adventure would bring. My oldest sister, Amanda was sitting in the
front seat next to my mom. My other sister, Shannon and I were in the 2nd row. Shannon and I were
lightly kicking Manda's seat, tormenting her like any annoying

Compare And Contrast Waffles And Pancakes

  • 1. Compare And Contrast Waffles And Pancakes Each morning, human beings are puzzled by one of the toughest decisions that have to be made. This decision can determine the outcome of one's entire day. If chosen incorrectly, the results could be disastrous! That decision being: "Which is better, waffles or pancakes?" We were dining in at the old Coffee House in Lenoir, North Carolina. We came in hungry and wanted a good breakfast to start off the first day of school. We got our menus and started to order. Before I go any further, we usually agree on most things, but for some reason we found each other's weakness. I wanted waffles while he wanted pancakes. Waffles and pancakes may look similar in their usual circular shape, but when compared to one another, their textures are quite different. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Waffles or Pancakes? Essay Although it is not a pressing issue, the dilemma concerning whether the waffle or the pancake is the superior breakfast food is one that has divided breakfast tables nationwide and sparked an age–old debate amongst breakfast eaters everywhere. I, being a regular at the breakfast table, am very opinionated on this topic, but when I am asked why the waffle is the superior breakfast food, I find myself talking in circles, claiming it to be the best "simply because it is". This, of course, is nowhere near a good answer, so I decided to borrow a technique from utilitarianism called hedonistic calculus, which is used to solve ethical dilemmas. This technique involves assigning point values to every component and finding the "score" each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus forth, the 2 points in this category will be awarded to the waffle. Being the physics oriented person I am, I tend to think like an engineer, trying to figure out the best design for any product. The basis by which we will critique the functionality of the breakfast foods in question is the ability to hold syrup. When syrup is added into the equation, the waffle clearly comes out on top considering that the structure was designed with perfectly sized compartments to hold syrup. Pancakes, on the other hand, end up soaking up all the syrup causing it to lose its structure and further add to the mushy texture. Yet again, the waffle is found to be superior and will receive the 2 points. The waffle, however, comes up short in the category of cost. While the make up of the two foods are essentially the same, the waffle requires special equipment to prepare. These waffle makers can cost anywhere from 15 to 100 dollars as opposed to the traditional skillet that can be found in most households. This financial ease that the pancake allows earns it the 2 points in this section. Based on the results found by using hedonistic calculus, I have deduced that waffles are far preferable in my own opinion. The waffle, having received full points in the categories of taste, texture, and functionality, totaled to a score of 7. The pancake came up short, only receiving the points for the cost efficiency category, giving it a not so grand ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

LOL, BUT I know most of my readers have probably never tried chicken mole and would probably write me an email cussing me out for pairing chicken with chocolate! Anyway, I settled on making a spicy butter pecan syrup from scratch. Yes, my loves, we can make syrup in our kitchens! Fear not, I promise it's not very labor intensive. I toasted my pecans for a few minutes then I added them to the syrup (which is just sugar and water) then I added some cayenne pepper, some chipotle powder, some bourbon and of course butter. This syrup is not lacking in the spice department, it will rattle your taste buds. The heat won't overwhelm you so there's no need to worry. Let's Discuss Mother's Day ... • 4. Waffles: A Fictional Narrative Bella found Edward on the front porch the next morning. He was huddled on a small bench in the far corner smoking a cigarette. He brought his head up at the sound of the door opening and shutting. "Morning sweetheart," he said teasingly as she approached him. "Good morning to you too handsome," she giggled plopping down next to him. She had woken up to find his side of the bed cold indicating that he had been gone for a quite while. She felt a little awkward knowing what they did the night before but Edward seemed unbothered. He almost looked more relaxed than usual. He wrapped his arms around her bringing his lips to her ear, lightly nipping at the lobe. She dropped the wooden spoon she was using to mix. "I don't remember getting a good morning kiss." His voice was husky with what sounded like desire. She spun around in his arms, facing him now. "Your lips were occupied with something else," she said with a shrug. "They're unoccupied now," he smirked, his arms sliding lower. She was wearing only shorts and one of his old t–shirts. He slipped his hand into he waistband of her pants, pausing. "And still no kiss." Bella felt as if every nerve in her body was on fire. She stood up on the tips of her toes, bringing her lips to his. The tip of her tongue slowly traced his bottom lip as she brought her hand up running it through his hair. So I went to Whole Foods and did the dirty work for you, finding one item in each aisle that is absolutely essential. 1. Flour, Sugar, Candy & Fruit Snack Aisle First glance down this aisle, I already knew what I absolutely had to have: chocolate. Although it was the obvious essential, the flavor of my chocolate was not as easy to decide on. • 8. Waffle Now Case Analysis I personally believe that if a business is unable to pay their workers a liveable wage, they are inept at running said business. The idea that the restaurant is barely making a profit suggests poor business management skills, or at worst a gross level of misinformation being provided. If, as the second letter states, they are making so little profit then perhaps the owner or corporate should be stepping in to see why the business is doing so poorly. If the manager is providing misinformation to garner sympathy or avoid paying proper wages, then clearly a new manager is required as this one shows poor problem resolution skills. It was hard to find a place that wasn't right next to someone, but we eventually managed to find a good spot. We laid out our towels and got right to undressing down to our swimsuits. We dumped out our bag full of beach supplies and my mom began to lather everyone up with sunscreen. Me being the unluckiest person ever, am as pale as a porcelain doll and the most likely to burn. This required me to be smothered in sunscreen even more than the rest. Now that we had our ghostly white sheen and smelled like chemically produced summer, we were ready to begin our beach activities. My mom being the munificent person she is, promised if we behaved, we could get ice cream from our most beloved ice cream shop. We unanimously decided we would be on our best behavior. We had the same order every time we went 1 cookie dough on a waffle cone, 1 mint chocolate chip in a cup, 1 cookies and cream on a regular cone, and 1 plain vanilla also on a waffle cone. My sisters would always tease me saying it was boring to get vanilla (even though they too would sometimes get vanilla). My sister Shannon and I started to build sand castles while my mom and Amanda laid out on their towels. • 22. The Waffle House Essay The Waffle House It's late one Friday night. You, accompanied by a select group of your closest friends, drive down the interstate, wanting desperately to be at home in the warmth of your bed. Suddenly, the lot of us sees the sign. Like a beacon it is, summoning us to it like proverbial moths to a flame. Forgetting about the need for sleep, we turn onto the off ramp, a string of drool dripping down and off of your chin. "Waffle House," we say with a gleam in our eyes, "we have arrived." What follows will be one of the most important events of our adult lives: a tireless ritual continuing into infinity all across the nation's good expanse. The Waffle House is without a doubt one of the last surviving institutions of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our struggle, however, is forgotten once the waitress finally arrives, casually sauntering over to us with looks of total indifference. She stuffs her loose and falling hair back up into her gaudy, burgundy cloth hat. "So, whaddyallhave?" she asks, waiting for us to decipher her strange and jumbled dialect. More often than not, the only reason we come here is to order what Waffle House is most famous for, and that (as if you needed to be told) is coffee. Waffle House coffee is a mystical brew with high caffeine content and an identifiable taste. No other restaurant's coffee is as desirable, because only Waffle House's has that "real man," industrial strength flavor. Grumpily, the waitress stomps away, aware that her tip will be far less than generous. Anyone who knows anything about the politics behind the Waffle House experience also knows that there are definite rules and guidelines that dictate how the course of events is to be played out during the span of a single visit. This routine begins with the arrival of the much anticipated cups of coffee, continues with pleasant conversation and playful intercourse amongst the customers, and culminates with the paying of the check and the inevitable departure. Our Waffle House chef makes the claim that the people who frequent the restaurant are, for the most part, regulars and that they all seem to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. Descriptive Essay Awaking from my daze to peer out the large, sweeping windows of the tour bus. Speeding past me is the Normandy countryside located on France's northern coast. After driving for an hour, we appear to be slowing down. The tour guide, Gilles, speaks over the intercom in his accented English describing the medieval structures of the town we are approaching. From a distance it appears to be a tourist haunt. Honfleur is a beautiful town that is different from anywhere else in the world. The pink bus parks in an area designated for larger vehicles. I exit the bus and immediately can smell salt in the air from the harbor. A breeze brushes my face and it is refreshing after the stale air on the bus. Screeching from sea gulls fills the air as does churning water. My friends, Sydney, Morgan, and Haylee, and I group together out of habit. We begin our walk toward the actual town which is nearby. Along the way flowers in pinks, purples, and yellows line the sidewalk we walk on, and a roped fence separates us from traffic. Traffic is busy this time of day as it is around four o'clock. Sun is shining into my eyes blinding me momentarily, but I continue walking across the road. Ahead of me our group has begun to circle Gilles. He speaks about the ancient town while we walk down an alleyway. We end up in a square between buildings. One of the houses has a garden with a variety of bright flowers in it. • 25. Waffle Now Case Analysis I can understand both of the arguments presented in these two passages. On one side, we have regular workers trying to establish a stable and reliable source of income, one that they can use to provide for themselves. On the other side we have a business that has to keep the customers, employees, and it's own needs in mind. After considering the information supporting each of these sides, I have come to a position that falls somewhere in the middle. I think that Waffle Now should definitely raise their employees' wages, atleast by a little bit. In the first sentence of paragraph three in letter two, Kelley DeGuzman states that the federal non–tipped minimum wage is more than three times higher than the tipped minimum wage. This is a ridiculous difference when you consider that amount for tipped minimum wage is expected to be met or almost met by tips alone. It puts a big portion of the employees' expected minimum wage at the mercy of everday customers. You can never be one hundred percent sure if a customer will tip or not, even if you did provide excellent service. This is because there are various different factors that go into a customer's decision on how much to tip, if at all. These factors include the individual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I agree that that would not be beneficial to the employees' or restaurant's best interest. However, like I said before, I do believe that the wages should be raised to meet somewhere in the middle. Letter two explains why it wouldn't be good to raise the wages by three times, but I don't see why the restaurant cant meet somewhere in the middle. For example they could raise menu prices a little bit, not a drastic amount, and maybe shorten shifts a little bit, raising overall wages by atleast a little ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mom simply said, "No, Isabel." I shrugged and went over to the beach lounge chair things. Then I went to the pool. I tried a simple, fun obstacle course. At the third obstacle, I tipped back in the pool's water! After a few backflips, I went back to see my mom. I was as cold as ice as I skipped merrily over to the beach chairs. I settled down in a chair with a towel covering me. I waved to my mom, who was sitting in the chair next to me. "Do you want to go on the water slide with me? It will be fun! Please?" Mom asked. I could sense the urge in her eyes, though it didn't match her words or facial expression. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth. Different varieties of flavors are offered for customer's satisfaction. PANCAKE The word pancakes appears in print as early as 1430. Pancakes may have been around since Neolithic humans domesticated einkorn wheat, ground it into flour mixed with bird's egg and goat's milk and poured the batter on a heated rock. The Romans as revealed in the cookbook by Apicius made dishes similar to modern pancakes. Medieval pancakes, frequently made form barley or rye and lacking leavening, were relatively ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The exact origins of this honeycombed cake are unknown, but the story of its evolution from a thin, crisp wafer to a thick, leavened cake, is a fascinating one. It is hard to imagine the waffle without its iconic honeycombed surface, but in the beginning it probably started as a simple, flat cake. The ancient Greeks cooked flat cakes, called obelios, between hot metal plates. As they spread throughout medieval Europe, the cakes – made from a mixture of flour, water or milk, and sometimes eggs – became known as wafers and were also cooked over an open fire between iron plates with long handles. At some point, perhaps in the 13th century, these began to be stamped with various designs ranging from family crests and landscape scenes to the characteristic grid pattern. The Dutch were particularly fond of waffles and colonists introduced them to the New World in the early 17th century. (It was in the New World that these cakes met their perfect companion, maple syrup.) By 1735, the word gained an extra "f," becoming waffle as we know it today. Thomas Jefferson is said to have brought the first long–handled waffle iron to America in 1789. About 80 years later, New York's Cornelius Swarthout patented the first stovetop waffle iron. Waffle cones for ice cream debuted at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis. On the home front, the old stovetop waffle irons were outfitted for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out.
